If you could what political party/movement would you form?

Postby Fanosolia » Mon Apr 20, 2015 6:48 pm

I"m really not sure if this has been done before, or if this belongs in general or forum 7 (if it's forum 7 let me know), but I'm curious beaver.

It's pretty clear that when some people write their factbook for their nation that they make some of the known political parties/movements in there nation. Partly to make the nation more alive, and partially because role playing is fun. But I ask you today if you had the chance, nsg, what sort of party or movement would you form if you have the time/resources/enough drive to do so? What would it be called, what would it stand for?

Personally, this was sparked by something was clouding my thoughts back when I first thought of this thread (back in January, It's been laying in my drafts so I could improve my op at a later date). It was an idea call "No Media Left Behind". In short It was idea that past media should be preserved and be available as much a possible to show our grandchildern past stories, and mediums of art. This movement would cover books, films, traditional art, shows, but also abandon-ware and out dated software. It would promote the idea that the art piece should be accessible going into the digital age in as many shapes and forms as possible, even if we'd have to pay for it. I'd see as a wing of a pirate party, if it wouldn't become a one issue party.

honestly? and this is going to maybe sound dumb but the political party of voting for who you think is best, enough of this moronic Republicans or Democrats or any of that crap how about people run for a position we educate ourselves on the people running and then vote for who we think is best suited for that position? is that such a foreign and alien idea? not voting for one or the other because of some blind loyalty to a party.

This mate. People also need to have more control over who the parties nominate as well. Perhaps different electoral systems could encourage this more.

Not really a movement or party per se, but my own private island nation, with a huge "keep out" sign. I am not sure if the isolation would make me happy though, it's more of a trade off to solve other "problems."

I would reform the New Zealand Liberal Party, according to the ideals of social progress and economic liberalism set by John Ballance.

The "MYOB" Party.

Someone else wants to marry a same-sex partner? MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
Someone else is contemplating getting an abortion? MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
Someone doesn't want to have any kids, but you're convinced childlessness is a mistake? MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!

A movement saying that compassion and forgiveness are right and necessary even if you're a government.
