The 'Eight-Pointed Star', the symbol of Concinnism.
ConcinnismConcinnism is a philosophical and ethical system, generally also classified as a religion. Dating as far back as 3000 BCE, Concinnism emerged as a non-theist and humanist religion; which stressed the need for order, equality and knowledge and learning in order to create the perfect society. Many have also described it as a socio-political system. Concinnism is a utilitarian and a hedonistic philosophy, and this can be seen in its moral views which proclaim that pleasure (and/or minimisation of displeasure) is the only intrinsic good and that consequences (and not means) are the only thing which matters when making a decision. Progressivism is a key part of Concinnism, and left-wing social and economic positions are supported.
Central Doctrine
Knowledge - In Concinnism, knowledge and learning are seen as the most important thing a person must do before they die. A Concinnist has the responsibility to better themselves by learning as much as possible and at every opportunity, in order to improve themselves. It is taught that the more learned the population is; the more civilised, prosperous and successful the society is. When Concinnism first appeared in the central lowlands of the Ardokian continent, a large network of schools all across the Ardokian city-states of the region were set up offering free education to the commoners (in literacy, mathematics, science, philosophy and Concinnism), a main reason for the rapid expansion and success of Concinnism.
Order - In Concinnism, Order is important as it allows a society to improve itself at a steady rate as, opposed to the troubles of times of chaos. It is the people's responsibility to work together for the greater good of society, while it is the responsibility of a meritocratic and technocratic ruling organisation to ensure that the greater good of society is achieved by the involvement of society. So Society is deemed as a single unit of all the people under a single authority, with all people in it entitled to equal rights regardless of gender, ethnicity, wealth or any other superficial difference.
