The year of 2017 was a turbulent one. The war in the Middle East rose to unprecedented heights, swallowing up the nations of the world in a struggle that would be remembered for years to come. The War in Donbass also escalated, killing thousands. All global attention was focused on these events, so nobody noticed when Costa Rica discovered massive deposits of natural resources under the surface in December 2017, including oil, a valuable commodity used for just about everything. Corporations were the only ones to know and they decided to act on it, as the Costa Rican President refused to export the resources.
Hiring PMCs and mercenaries, they attacked Costa Rica in a mostly short but vicious battle between the country's Civil Guard and organized mercenary forces, known as REDFOR for simplicity. The government was crippled, communication all but lost, and the Civil Guard reduced to bands of rebels wandering around the countryside. The people were just too tired and exhausted of war to resist, and the corporate leaders could now exploit the resources for their own gain. But the remnants of the government in the east of Limon Province, where the last bastions of resistance still held strong, gathered up the last of the government's funds and tried to hire PMCs of their own. 79 million dollars each would be provided to every mercenary company that helped them liberate the country fully while 65 million would be provided by the corporations to the PMCs that held an iron fist over the territory. For simplicity, the Costa Rican-aligned PMCs are known as BLUFOR.
The difference in money might be enough to make you join BLUFOR but don't forget their job is significantly more tougher than REDFOR's job. They have to secure the entire country from a group of battle-hardened mercenaries. Now the factions involved are tensely waiting for what's going to happen next in the Costa Rican Conflict. The year has passed but nothing has changed. Now it is January 2018 and the shadow war in Costa Rica is still ongoing.
Summary
So now that you've listened to that really long backstory, here's what's going to basically happen. There are two sides, BLUFOR and REDFOR, each with different loyalties and different objectives. REDFOR is easier to do, as your PMC was part of the initial invasion force that took over the country and are in a very favorable position, but you earn less money over the course of the RP, which is vital to hiring more mercenaries to fill your ranks, buy weapons, ammunition, food, etc. REDFOR is fighting for greedy megacorporations who want Costa Rica's newly discovered natural resources.
The other side is BLUFOR, remnants of the pre-war Costa Rican government and rebels who want the country liberated from military occupation. You get more money than REDFOR, allowing you to recruit more men and buy more equipment, but start in a less than favorable position and objectives of a higher difficulty than REDFOR.
Objectives
REDFOR's objectives over the RP are to defend the country at all costs from attempts to retake it. As long as a REDFOR presence exists in Costa Rica, then the corporations still have a presence there. But once they get booted out of the country fully, then the corporations have lost and BLUFOR has won. These objectives are easy on paper but in practice might be a little difficult.
BLUFOR must retake the capital, San Jose, and completely destroy REDFOR's military forces within Costa Rica. Once the last soldier affiliated with REDFOR has been killed, then BLUFOR has won. These might seem difficult but the extra money should help quite a bit.
Applications
NOTE: Heavy weaponry is allowed. By heavy weaponry, I mean stuff like fixed-wing aircraft, attack helicopters, tanks, etc, but it shouldn't be abused. A mercenary company should not have M1 Abrams. Vehicles like the M60 Patton or T-72 are fine, because those are easy to acquire. You shouldn't overlook the potential of other vehicles too. They might perform better in roles than regular military vehicles.

Work in Progress
Company Name: Red Arrow Support Services (RASS)
Company History: Michael Taylor, an Army captain who had served in the Gulf War and Invasion of Grenada, had retired in late 1993 as a hero. But Taylor wanted to make his own private military company, a business that was becoming increasingly popular around the world as former soldiers were looking for lines of work. He gathered hundreds of former American soldiers and secured an investment to expand his little enterprise. Red Arrow was founded in 1996 after Taylor had finally got enough personnel, funds, and vehicles to officially have his company recognized as a PMC.
It just got better for Red Arrow as time went on as they had become a major player in the field and exclusively held multiple contracts from the US government in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, atrocities committed against civilians and Army soldiers by rebellious contractors had caused a downturn in Red Arrow despite Taylor's pleas that he wasn't ordering the contractors to do so and that they had extensive background checks. They still held contracts but weren't at their very peak as they were before.
Now the company's big break is going to come once again, or at least that's what Taylor and his Chairmen think.
Company Structure: Red Arrow is organized into Units of 1,000 men each and a 500 man Special Combined Arms Task Force. Then companies, platoons, and squads.
