In July 2015 Spain will time travel to the Middle Ages.

Postby Nanatsu no Tsuki » Sat Mar 28, 2015 1:42 pm

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/m ... expression

http://revolution-news.com/spanish-cong ... dark-ages/

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... tests.html

Mariano Rajoy's administration, in its quest to send Spain back to the Dark Ages, has approved a series of very draconian laws and ammendements to the penal code, that essentially make protesting illegal. Not to mention, facilitate racial profiling of minorities and posting/tweeting photos that evidence police brutality a felony. Among a few other things.

For example, cyberactivism: disseminating news through social media of a protest can result in fines of up to 30.000€.

Photographing police misconduct can earn you jail time or fines ranging between 600€ to 30.000€. Appealing fines require the appellant to pay all judicial costs.

The wordings of the law has also been left vague. Subject to all kinds of interpretations by the court and the government.

Antiterrorism laws also leave subject to interpretation what is considered a "terrorist act". Which could be simply browsing a website that the govt suddenly feels caters to terrorists.

In essence, I feel "WTF Spain?". And this will all come in effect this coming July. The PP is screwing us up. Jeebus.

What say ye, NSG?

does that mean spain will be taken over by muslims again?
"Nowadays everybody's got to go to shrinks and counselors, and go on Sally Jesse Raphael and talk about their problems. Whatever happened to Gary Cooper, the strong, silent type? That was an American. He wasn't in touch with his feelings. He just did what he had to do. See, what they didn't know is once they got Gary Cooper in touch with his feelings, that they wouldn't be able to shut him up. And then it's dysfunction this and dysfunction that and dysfunction vaffanculo!"

Uh, yeah, that's not okay. On the plus side, we no longer need to invent time machines. We can just adjust the policies of every nation to fit the Middle Ages and see how things go.

Yup, they're hungry for revenue. But I must confess this worries me. Spain is missing entirely what democracy is. We have a right to tell the govt they're acting like fuckwits if they're acting like fuckwits.

It's not only this new, gag law, but also the reform of the penal code (that will, for the first time since 1977) legalize life imprisoment. Also, relevant figures of the PP have appeared in television advocsting for limiting the freedom of expression

Esperanza Aguirre (Candidate for Madrid region with the PP): "I told Lara [the former CEO of one of the biggest media enterprises in Spain] not to give such coberture to Podemos"

And for example, yesterday Jesus Cintora, a journalist that is very critic towards the government, was fired because the government had talked with the CEO of mediaset Spain, Paolo Vasile.

Today we will change our clocks, at 2:00 AM will be 3:00 AM... Of 1939

I supplied the link so people check it all out.

I guess we need to, as a country, smash our computers, harddrives and close down our FBs and Twitters. Heck, CTE on NS.

The vagueness of the wording in some of these amendments worries me.

Two reasons probably.

One: It shows a womans mouth being covered by a very harsh and crude torture device to silence her reflecting on how draconian these laws are to protesting and voicing your dissent with the government.

Two: It reflects on the title about it going back into the middle ages by showing a brutal torture device, and things like that were used an awful lot in Spain (and other countries) with things like the Spanish Inquisition.

At least that is what i gathered from it.

The Socialist party has sent this law to the Contitutional court, but this won't go far as the president of the CC was affiliated to the ruling People's Party and most pf the judges there were appointed by the PP...

And the EU has already expressed their concerns about this law, and many others. But the EU has done little (not to say nothing) about the humans right situation in Hungary... So I hope in the next general election Podemos wins and expells the PP out of the government.
