Long ago, when the world was young, the guardians of the balance of the world were the dragons, whom ensured that all the forces, elements and beings in the world were at peace and harmony. Created with energies infused by all five worlds, they were made and instructed by the Emperor of heaven himself and his celestial court. Proud and immortal, the dragons were a mighty force indeed. The few who dared threaten the harmony of the world were struck down as swiftly as they presented a threat.
They were beloved by the people as benevolent guardians, worshiped by the people. Names like Zheng Long, Rashn Kha, Yurishima and Zhi Yui became legendary. Extravagant temples and palaces were built for them. Monuments raised in their honour, statues made of the most precious materials and legions upon legions of fawning followers.
However, this was not to last. What happened next is debated more than any other question before or since. Some say that the dragons were attacked by the court because they were seen as threats to the Emperors power, some say that the Dragons struck first, the gold, followers and love of the people had fueled their egos to the point where they considered themselves the true rulers of the universe and they had instead attacked heaven first. Most likely the truth is a little of both. Whatever the cause, the Dragons and the Gods of the celestial court fought a war. Though, since both sides were immortal, the war quickly stalemated. In the chaos, the title of Emperor of heaven changed heads a few times, causing more chaos. The Dragons were led by several leaders, but one in particular was Jiang Shu, the Scaleless. Jiang was a cruel and ambitious dragon, who wished not only to defeat heaven but to transcend and become completely omnipotent. So, she began work on a ritual which would not only destroy all of heaven, but magnify her power to untold heights. Though at first she had little luck on the ritual, she found a method to kill immortal beings, such as dragons and gods. As she worked, the war raged on…
Meanwhile, the other worlds were upset by the changes in balance. The Nether world found itself able to unleash it’s foul denizens on any plane, their enemies now distracted. Vengeful ghosts came from the underworld to ours for revenge on the living. Humanity was fighting for its life, cursing the names of the dragons and the gods that had abandoned them. Our only salvation was both human tenacity and allies from the spirit world, who came to our world after theirs was overrun by Oni, Raksahsha, Demons, Asura, countless undead nightmares and other horrors. Just as alliances were made between spirits and humans, similar agreements were made between the Queens of the underworld and the nether Lords, though they would often find themselves at odds due to the fact that their goals were different.
While Earth and Nether and Death warred, the conflict in heaven never wavered. The stalemate continued, until on one fateful day, Jiang unleashed her horrifying powers she had been perfecting, having, in her research, courted a new foul evil. A foul sentient virus she had concocted herself, having bonded with it and become it’s master. It was called the “End” for they were the end of all things. Foul, consuming aberrations Slaughtered both dragon and god, driving both to extinction. Heaven was poisoned, forever corrupted, The last surviving denizens of heaven all fled to earth. Meanwhile, now with a secure base of power, Jiang continued preparing her ritual.
Suddenly, the fighting on earth stopped as all the parties realized what a threat the “End” was. They immediately came together in a meeting and agreed to unite against this foe. Their combined might was enough to defeat the End, who were spent after consuming both gods and dragons. Their leader is said to have fell, though many say she will return. All of them signed a contract to put aside their differences and establish an uneasy peace.
Almost all of the Nether beings migrated to earth, mostly as the Nether was fairly inhospitable and most of them preferred it on the human world now that they had had a chance to sample it, the undead that stayed on earth got stuck there, and there was the spirits and the heavenly beings to consider. With that in mind, the Human devised a solution whereby all beings on earth would be ruled by a council of the five world’s leaders.
Since, a peace of sorts has been established, though the occasional Endling raid from Heaven or Civil war has kept things interesting. However, only the very smart or those who were old enough to see the first war realized that this could not last, because that which is Immortal never truly dies.
That is where you come in. You are one of the reincarnations of Dragons, whether you be spirit, nether being, ghost, heaven born or human. All born to greatness. All of you are young, but with time you will be called upon to fight a foe long forgotten. You have all been invited to the Uai Tai Warrior monastery for training, though you may be confused as to why you have been invited.
Races
Each of the five worlds of the universe housed a multitude of races, some of which have gone extinct during the great war and the creation of the End. These races are often distinct from one another, though they share similarities depending on their home world. Dragons were once one of these many races, though their infusion with mystical energies from all five worlds caused them to undergo a metamorphosis.
Earth –
Earth is the largest and most diverse of all five worlds. Home to humanity and the adopted home of many more races. Earth has become key in the defense of all the worlds, seeing as it is the bridge between other worlds and heaven, the birthplace of the End. As a result, most species migrated there, especially those born from heaven and Earth is often very crowded and busy because of this.
Humanity is divided into four nations, though they all have to listen to the word of the council.

The Nether Realm-
The Nether Realm is a near inhospitable wasteland which is the home to the Nether Beings, creatures almost seemingly predestined for evil. Nether Beings are often as harsh and unforgiving as their home, often fairly self serving and brutal. Though there are exceptions to this rule. Despite what many think, the wars against the spirit realm and Earth were not ideological or because they hated humans or spirits. Instead the Nether Beings mostly wanted a more habitable home. Most now do live on earth, due to the pact after the great war.

The Spirit World-
The spirit world is a strange realm indeed. Perhaps meant to be a reverse of the Underworld as Heaven is of the Nether Realm. Whatever the case, the spirit realm is home to beings with incredibly long lifespans, and the world itself would seem an idyllic paradise, however the realm is not friendly to intruders, almost having a conscious of it's own as the world itself attacks those not suppose to be there. In fact, some of the denizens of the spirit world have been gone so long that it now sees them as intruders.

Heaven-
Once the Seat of the gods and the capital of the entire universe, Heaven is now the home of corruption and ruin, End having festered in there like a virus in filth. Now it is a place of sadness, where only the few pious still go or the mournful on pilgrimages to the areas which have been cleansed. It is a wound for most, many having lost families there. The races once native to Heaven are now all on earth.
The Underworld-
The Land of the dead, the underworld is the realm where all living beings go when they die. Once, very, very long ago, before dragon or god, the underworld didn't exist and beings simply did not die. This caused chaos and unrest, so when the gods did arrive, they made a point of finding a place to channel dead souls so they did not simply resurrect themselves. They found the underworld, and it has since become a convienient dumping ground for all the gods problems. A fate which has left the underworld detizens embittered and jealous, seeing images of a much better life and world in their shattered memories.

Remember. This is a list of the main races, so there are many more subspecies, minor races and animals (If I listed all of them, it would take forever). Monsters and creatures you will encounter are going to be a surprise...
Dragons
A dragons age level determines their power. Thankfully Dragons can gain "power levels" faster by defeating powerful foes.
Wyrmling:
Most dragons started out at this level. You're strong, but no where near unlocking your true potential. Your strength, speed, durability and reflexes are all sharpened, giving you the equivalent power of ten humans. You are gifted with a dragon form, in which you get draconic traits. Your dragon form so far is still humanoid, though it does increase your abilities twicefold, your philology changes little during this form, perhaps your skin looking a different hue or your eyes becoming serpentine. You also have a minor healing factor. You are also nigh Omnilingual.
Your Colour magic is impressive, yet not great by dragon standards at the moment. For example, if you used fire magic, you would have the firepower to incinerate a medium sized tree. Water Dragons would be able to move a wells worth of water. Earth Dragons could move large boulders.
Teethlings:
Teethlings are much stronger than Wyrmlings, your powers now equal to three times that of Wyrmlings (note that speed, durability and reflexes also increase by this much as we move up). In your dragon form, you now have rows of sharpened teeth and retractable claws as well as a tail. Your power bonus has increased to a thrice multiplier. Your shape-shifting abilities are starting to evolve, you are now able to camouflage yourself with your environment.
Your colour magic is much more powerful now. Fire dragons can now claim the firepower to incinerate an entire floor of a house. Water dragons can now move pools worth of water and Earth Dragons can move a boulder of thrice the size.
Young Dragons:
Your power is four times that of a Teethling. In dragon form, you now likely have scaly wings, though you can't fly that well, your flight quite clumsy at this point. Though still humanoid, your form should be bulking somewhat or slimming for the more serpentine dragons. Now you've been given a protective aura of Armour which can help protect yourself from attacks.
Your colour magic has improved greatly. Fire dragons can now incinerate entire houses and melt through iron. Water dragons can now move lakes worth of water and Earth Dragons can now move small fields of earth.
Juvenile:
Your power is five times that of a Young Dragon. In Dragon form, your form is begining to look more like that of a dragon. Your head is morphing into a more draconic version of itself. Hair is being replaced with scales and your flying has become much stronger and faster. Your shapeshifting powers allow you to mould your form a little, should you desire a human head or arm, then you can morph yourself slightly. Though you cannot look more draconic. (Dragon form multiplier is now four times your power)
Your dragons breath is now manifesting. It should be suitable to your colour magic. So far you can only produce a small cone of it,
You colour magic is now a force to be reckoned with. Fire Dragons can burn down an entire village. Water Dragons can down entire villages and Earth dragons can bury them.
Maturing Dragon:
Your power is six that of a juvenile dragon, your dragon form almost fully draconic. Perhaps a few features are slightly mortal, but you're almost a full dragon. Your flight is now almost unparalleled, your much faster in the air now, able to outpace modern jets.
Your colour magic is now incredibly advanced. Fire Dragons can boast the power to level cities. Water Dragons can collect large rivers of water and Earth Dragons can move those cities.
Adult Dragon:
You're now a fully fledged dragon, your dragon form now becoming your true form, your mortal form becoming merely a set of clothes to sheath your true power. Your powers are ten times that of a maturing dragon, Your draconic form now boasting ten times your mortal power.
Your colour magic is nearly unrivaled and almost ludicrous in it's height. Fire Dragons can set massive areas ablaze. Water dragons can bend oceans. Earth Dragons can move mountains.
Emperor: The height of power of the legendary dragons of old.

Dragon Colours and powers
A dragons power is directly related to his or her colour. Dragons draw pure magic through their colours rather than the schools of magic the mortal races use. Therefore, they have unrestricted access to pure magic, and harness specific elements rather than having to go through schools. Almost any element of life can be represented with a dragon and often subtle variations in scale tone can mean dramatically different abilities.
