Gênes Palace Royal Ball (IC)

Postby Kingdom of Derita » Fri Feb 27, 2015 1:24 pm

Queen Adela had all of the servants and guards carefully checked everything in the new palace to make sure nothing was out of place. Both Deritain nobility, Genoese Nobility and foreign Delegates of all kinds were arriving for the Queen of Genoa's Royal Ball. The young Queen Adela had declared herself the sole ruler of Genoa only three weeks ago. The Gênes Palace was made her permanent home in the capital city of Genoa. The Gênes Palace was in the Capital in the central southern district of Genova, surrounded by parks and greenery. The Queen of Genoa was a perfectionist and made sure that there was nothing wrong in the royal home.

Image

The Gênes Palace was elegantly decorated, with beautiful works of all types of art. Even the food was beautiful, with artfully arranged platters. The them of the party was blue, black and purple, all Royal colors. The palace sat at the sumit of a small hill, facing the north to the city climbing up into the mountains if the north, and south to see the city spread out flat and reach the sea. The Gulf de Gênes was in fact close enough to the palace that the smell of the sea and ocean breeze reach the beautiful building.

Queen Adela was dressed in a lavish dress that was breath taking, despite being 33 years old, Adela resembled a 26 year old. Her long curly light brown hair was beautifully styled, in a traditional Deritain style, flowing long, she did not were her official crown, instead wearing a small diamond tiara that still gave her a regal and power impression. Her dress was a lovely yellow and blue silk and ribbons, incredibly expensive, but nothing in comparison of her massive wealth. The Queen's children, five year old twins Dauphin Fredrick II, Crown Prince Roiel and Three year old Crown Princess Sophia were all dressed in elegant outfits, Sophia wearing a pink dress, Fredrick and Roiel wearing matching blue and black uniforms, the only possible way to tell them apart was Fredrick had a few streaks of gray dyed into his hair.

The Royal Guards opened the golden gates to the palace to allow guests to enter, first arriving were the Genoese Nobility and Royal Court, twenty or so minor Deritain nobles who had come to Genoa to be major nobles for Queen Adela. Ushers directed them to the ballroom, along with the other arriving guests.

The Chancellor's son had arrived earlier than the Chancellor, dressed with a simple black suit and black tie with black pants. Elegantly dressed, he was tall, with clean teeth and a bit handsome. He was amazed from what he saw, those were things rarely seen in Estenia, he felt the breeze touching his skin even though he wore very warm clothes. The smell of the sea was not the same as the Estenian one, different enough to say it was his favourite, he walked in and saw the amazing decorations and works of art in the palace and the colours made perfect harmony. He was escorted by the guards inside the hall, where he saw the Queen and the Queen's children. He moved towards the Queen's side and when he reached her he said:

"Your majesty, Queen Adela of Derita." then kissed her hand and continued "I am Yuri-Filipp Porosenko, son of the Chancellor of Estenia who will in short time be here to talk to you about important matters between our nations. I am here because my father told me to and I am proud watching you here. I'd love to have a personal conversation with you, since we are about the same age."

Queen Adela smiled at the Chancellor son's lovely greeting.

"I represent the Kingdom of Genoa, and even though I am Deritan, I must put my tasks to Genoa, however you are welcome to my cousin, Emperor Christopher II on matters of increasing relations with Genoa. In fact here he is now."

Emperor Christopher II arrived at the lovely palace. Of course it was not as beautiful or as lovely as his score of palaces in Derita. Though he had to be amazed, the building had been designed by famed Deritain Architect, André Le Vau, it was a work of art. However this was the Emperor of Derita's first time visiting Adela's smaller kingdom. He was a tall man, with coffee color skin, yet he had naturally blonde hair, something that still amazed doctors. He wire a blue and black uniform that was elaborate, but at the same time was simple, a long blue silk cap was draped a crossed his shoulders as he entered the ballroom.

"Bonjour Adela, I hope you are enjoying your new kingdom, Dieu knows it took a lot to gain it. Bonjour Monsieur..."

"Cousin, this is Monsieur Porosenko of Estenia."

"Pleasure to meet you."

"Georges?" "WHAT?" "Did you pack you pills?" "I did!". Georges sighed. "I love you, Louise." he kissed her. "Please, put your seat belts on." "To our break!" Louise laughed. Georges smiled. Louise slept while Georges lay awake. "Louise, Wake up!" Louise looked up "WHAT?" "We here!". He grabbed her hand...

Georges' eyes twitched at every item of décor. Every now and then you could here him grumble things. Louise looked up at him and laughed. "You're that bothered about this new palace? We beat it on every level!" "Whatever you think." Georges chuckled. "I do it." "Hello, fair ruler of Genoa, and fellow monarch. My name is Georges Vons Crosus this is my wife Louise Chrf Crosus. Me and Louise don't like any titles so just call us by our names."

Porsenko then quickly replied after shaking hands with Christopher II:

"It's my pleasure to meet you too, your highness. As you heard before, I am Yuri-Filipp Porosenko, son of the Estenian Chancellor and follow me your highness." then taking Christopher II to a safe spot and said "I am in love with Adela, will you help me get her? It was my dream since the teen years."

Queen Adela smiled happily, she was use to being the center of attention, she had been ever since she was a little girl, and she loved it. For most of her life she had been in the spotlight, and now as the single ruler of Genoa, it only increased. In fact it was that very week that a movie about her had come out, Adela, Queen of Genoa.

"It is a pleasure to meet both of you Georges and Louise. I hope you life the palace, it has been redone and rebuilt twice now, I hope it is presentable."

Estenia wrote:Porsenko then quickly replied after shaking hands with Christopher II:

Emperor Christopher sighed. Why was it that this happen every time he went to a ball now a days. Some young love struck man would confess to Christopher for the love of one of his cousins. Emperor Christopher II was the most powerful man in the entire region, ruling over 14 different nations, with an empire covering the globe. Yet all he seemed to be doing as Emperor was give out love advice, something he was very annoyed at doing, but was too nice to refuse.

What was even crazier about this situation was the fact that Christopher was younger than the person asking for advice. Christopher was 29, handsome, perhaps even sexy, but he acted like he was 50 and his manner was almost always formal and polite.

"Adela is a charming young woman, she ambitious and strong, it may be possible to grasp her heart, with charm and honor, a knight in shining armour. But it would harder to hold on to her."

The delegate was a young man, no older than twenty five, but he had seemed best fit to attend a ball. He wore a lovely black suit, with a pin of Elcharia's flag placed neatly above his left pocket. This was the first event that the Elcharians had attended since being founded, and it felt as if the pressure of the world was on top of the young man's shoulders. He took a quick breather before he stepped into the magnificent palace. Everything seemed as though it had jumped out of a work of art, and for a second the man was star struck.

Not too far away was Queen Adela herself, greeting some other guests. She was just as beautiful as her palace, and the man smiled as he walked up. He bowed, and then held out one hand. "Your majesty, this palace is as beautiful as the heavens." He said, smiling. "My name is Harold Richarson, delegate of Elcharia. It is an honor to be here."

Ambassador Group 4 was one of the newer ones.
In fact, that was their first more or less official visit, if one wasn't counting in training visits to a few friends they had as a group: Mhairi Maighdean of the Tribe of Kildare, nicknamed Waari by her fans, was the Ambassador of the Selkie, the ambassador of the people. Mairin Leann of the Tribe of Monaghan was the Ambassador of the Free Lands, the ambassador selected by the Elder Council to work together with Waari.
So the two Selkie weren't completely new to the business, as was the Office for Foreign Affairs. They gave the two of them a lot of information about Genoa, Derita and their rulers. For example, Queen Adela, their host, had declared herself sole ruler and essentially absolute monarch of the land, on the way there killing and usurping all sorts of people.
Appearantly, the Elder Council thought, that it was a good idea to get involved with this Queen.
And so, the two women followed the path indicated in a highly decorated palace, along exotic, and beautiful, works of art. It was different from what they had seen so far.
They had seen palaces and other such government centres, but many had been more function-oriented then here. However, people everywhere tended to decorate for parties.
However, both Mairin and Waari weren't going to waste the chances for the Free Lands.
The Ambassador of the Selkie, a brown haired and blue eyed woman in her prime, wore her tribe's Geansai. It was a piece of clothing from another time, reflecting the Selkie's wilder side, made of and lined by real fur, which had been hunter by her elder brother and a few admirers in the Great Woods. She was a Kildare, green and orange was her combination.
In a similar way, the blonde, blue eyed Ambassador of the Free Lands was a Monaghan, red and white were her colours. She, too, wore her Geansai, with her hair bound to a tail above the knot of a red bandana, making it like the tail of a horse.
The two of them followed the trend of entering the ballroom.
"The Queen is occupied.", Mairin mumbled over to her colleague, looking to the Queen (quite elegantly dressed, but not her style), who talked with someone appearing to be Yuri-Filipp Porosenko, the son of the Chancellor of Estenia, Emperor Christopher of Derita, King George and Ser Harold Richarson.
The fiddler followed her look and had to agree. "How about we greet her anyways, she is out host after all."
"Short and sweet.", Mairin agreed and began to drift towards the Queen.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

Chancellor Charles Tannyard arrived in Genoa, wearing one of his finest suits. The former, ambassador, governor and congressman was very experience on interacting with royals, having been caught in a war currently between two royals over Espana. Tannyard himself had never much liked the idea of a King or Queen, something he kept secret to only himself, but if someone was to have more power than him, he preferred a monarch.

Image

Tannyard was a average height man, 37 years old, already with long salt and pepper hair, but many stated that it gave him an air of respect. His style was adopted from that of the Chypree and Deritain nobles he had meet before, a strange but loved style of older fashions, mixed in with the newer ones. For example he wore dress pants, but his link peach colored jacket seemed like something from the 19th Century, added with lace around his neck. He was aware that the Chyreiote Upper Class wore it better than him, but he still looked nice.

As the Chancellor arrived at the Gênes Royal Palace he was silently amazed by the elegance and decorative taste of the building. If one thing was clear, the Deritains were lovers of culture, taste and art. The building truly was breathe taking as Tannyard walked to the gates, moving his cane to hold himself up.

Charles Tannyard hated that cane, it labeled him disabled and he tried to do everything to down play that stigma. He had not originally needed a cane to walk, it was not until five months ago when some crazed revolutionaries bombed a café in Viejo that he was crippled by the force of the explosion against his ankle. It had left much of his lower leg, from his knee to his ankle lame and unable to support himself. It was this new imperfection that not only made Tannyard more respected and feared, but also drove him to destroy the revolutionaries ripping apart Espana.

As he entered the ballroom, his beautifully decorated cane, a shaft of oak wood with the golden head of a wolf on the top, clicked and tapped against the floor, he thought that perhaps the Queen of Genoa could help Espana end it's confusing war with eight different sides. Queen Adela herself had survived not one, not two, but three attempts to remove her from power and she had held on and won. He stopped about six feet away from the Queen, surrounded by other guests, just watching.

The delegation had arrived in the Presidents VTOL. Today they would get to talk to the other side. The King had plans to talk with Queen Adela but didn't want anything to do with Emperor Christopher II. As he walked out of his VTOL King Uchiha whispered behind the Captain's ear "Keep that coward Chris out of my presence... If he says one word to me I may bitch slap him myself. Cpt.Haley nodded as he knew the king was completely serious. The King was an expert in taijutsu and it would be a pity to see him beat down on the Emperor at this Palace. The palace was beautiful and very well set up and the servants were perfectly in order. The Palace reminded the King of his winter palace, it was quite a sight to see the beautiful structure. After taking a quick look the King proceeded to enter the ball. Even though they were at a royal ball the Timerian felt insecure about their surroundings especially the 3 Olympians. Cpt.Haley, Prince Emile, & President Håstad were all active duty Olympians and were on edge. They wouldn't forget they were in enemy territory. They would keep their guards up; especially with
Emperor Christopher II around. He may be a coward but you never know what could happen.

Queen Adela saw Charles Lilous-Tannyard standing a little ways off from the group surrounding her, and she did not wish to let him be left out of the group, she waved him to come over closer to her. Adela knew of Tannyard through court gossip, they said he was a man full of secrets and that his simple presence in front of a crowd had started riots in Espana. Adela expected Tannyard to be friendly, as he was a known supporter for Adela's sister-in-law, Queen Veronica of Espana.

"Monsieur Tannyard, please, come over."

The Queen of Genoa turned to Monsieur Richarson, delegate of Elcharia, she loved his lovely comment on her home. A costly project, the building was indeed a beautiful piece of architecture, the crowning of Genoa. In fact the palace was rated third most beautiful palace in the region after the Deritain palaces of Madrid Été Palace and the Versa de Palace.

"Monsieur, you flatter me to the fullest, thank you so much for your lovely comment on my home. I wish for people to enjoy it."

Image

While Adela was orbited by guests like that of the sun, one of the courtiers notice more people enter the ballroom. The Countess of Savona turned to sea the Timerian delegation arrive, the Timerians were not very much liked by the Royal Court, they had broken into the palace once to try and kidnap Queen Adela, however Adela respected the King, as did Emperor Christopher II, though the mighty emperor respect the King the way a owner respected a pet. Most if them were strange looking, though one, Cpt. Haley was more attractive than the rest, his dark skin and hair was closer to that of a Deritains, though he wasn't as handsome. Still, Savona turned her nose up that them and spoke in French to her friends.

Image

"Pity Her Majesty allowed such riff-raft into the palace, the janitors well have to spend hours cleaning up the filth on the floor!"

The noblewoman laughed in a very elitist way at the little joke. They were woman that Deritains were stereotyped as, shallow pretty woman who wore the finest, never lifting a finger a day in their life, though still polite to people and caring, but also condescending.

Charles Lilous-Tannyard smiled at Queen Adela's invitation over. Tannyard walked over to Her Majesty, limping slightly even with the cane supporting him. He moved away the other guests surrounding her in a simple ad smooth way, moving his body to force others to move without actually touch them. He gave a deep bow to the Queen of Genoa.

Your Majesty, it is a great honor to meet Your Majesty. Your beautiful palace is only surpassed by your beauty, Aphrodite herself would be envious.

To anyone in Espana, it would have seemed like Tannyard had just spoken an elaborate poem to Queen Adela, yet the former congressman knew from his time spent with the late King Philip and his wife, that royals and especially Deritains loved flattery. The famous historian Salva-Caos had referred to Deritains as the "Dark skin aristocrats of the world. They dress in diamond, sleep in silk and drink black oil. They are spoiled but benevolent children, but too powerful to be touched, protected by the mighty Emperor."

This made politicians in Communist Espana both respect and despise their northern neighbor. While they would be happy to see the nation fall, their empire had several times stopped Espana in it's own conquest, most ironically on that of Genoa. Eleven years ago Communist Espana had attempted to conquered Genoa, but stopped by Derita. Now Tannyard was here kissing the feet of the Deritain Queen of Genoa. However the "dark skin aristocrats" were an important balance in the region, fortunately and unfortunately keeping the region in check and relatively peaceful. To be rid of Derita would no doubt cause a massive vacuum of power that Espana could not fill. So Espana was both friends and enemies with Derita, made very clear in the on going War of Spanish Succession

Jaq McNabb strolled through the Deritian royal hall, tapping on his phone in one hand, and glancing around the hall while the other fourConnerians strolled alongside him, wearing nothing but jeans and collared shirts with ties. McNabb, however, wore a fine Italian suit, dark pants, and a black tie, which he adjusted as he walked into the main room. He could see the elitist women giggling at the Timerians, his allies, and he put on a pair of dark sunglasses. He zoomed in, listening in on their conversation. He heard what they were saying and chuckled to his group. "If they think the Timerians are filth, what are we, yeah? Pity them that do shit like that." He continued to walk forward, walking right past the group of ladies before approaching Queen Adela. He extended his hand, and removed his sunglasses. "Hello, Miss Adela. I am glad to be in your nation once again. I must say, your place is quite nice. It rivals or even outdoes some of the finest places in Hyperion, or maybe even Conner City. How are things in Genoa nowadays?" Meanwhile, his ten guards (two for each person), wearing either dark suits and dark sunglasses or blue body armor, and speaking into radios as three of them openly carried assault rifles, being Operators. Seven others were Agents, and had pistols concealed below their suits.

Queen Adela smiled as she turned from the Chancellor of Communist Espana to McNabb of Connor. She smiled at the man. She had never partially liked or disliked Jaq McNabb, being very neutral to the man, trying to keep an unbiased opinion on him, even after banning President Boeham from the kingdom.

"It is a pleasure to see you again Monsieur McNabb, My precious Genoa is recovering, rebuilding and perfecting the nation with the help of my cousin and my sister."

The Countess of Savona had overheard the Connorians, and she agreed with them, they were filth too. Disgusting, Her Majesty was so open to people that it was distasteful. Savona turned to her little group near the Queen and smiled and spoke with a giggle in French.

"At least They know their place too."

The other woman laughed at that. In the Royal Court of Genoa everything that a person did could result in life or death socially, from the way that one dresses, such as the one wearing such ridiculous clothes, dressed as if they were a child. At least Jaq wore something nice, even if it was Italian. And of course there was the annoying fact he refused to call Adela Queen. The Monarchs of Georges Spain could do that because they were equals, but McNabb? Please, he might have well hanged himself socially.

McNabb nodded once more to Adela, and said, "Well, I do hope you have luck. I wish you all the best in building your new nation." He then turned around and strolled over to the Countess of Savona, and said, "Hello, Miss. I can't remember your name, however, are you not the peader of Savona? The man replied, "My Fantasy Football team lost." McNabb nodded. "And that means mine won, yeah?" He was grinning as he turned back towards the Countess. "Anyways, my name is Jaq McNabb. He turned and walked towards the Timerians, jabbing with the man who he had beaten in fastasy football.

Savona was not even able to respond or say anything before the man was walking off. It was incredibly rude. He spoke like a machine gun, firing so fast that she couldn't even respond to it before he was gone. He had started off nicely, then was talking about fantasy football, something not very popular in Derita, though on the rise in Genoa. The Countess was dumbfounded, she spun around to look at her friends.

"Mon Dieu! What was that?"

Queen Adela was also a little confused as McNabb had left her, leaving one less person to orbit around her, something she did not enjoy, though she did not care much about it. She had more than enough people around her to satisfy her slightly vanity.

King Henri II and Queen Ionna, the young sovereigns of Chypree arrived at the Gênes Palace. Queen Ionna had been at the palace of her sister once before, but it had been brief and she had been going to take Adela's children to stay at her estate in Rome while the nation descended into chaos. It was because of that however Queen Ionna had a wonderful relationship with her nephews and niece.

King Henri was a tall man, though slightly short for a Deritain, as he had been born in Derita as had Ionna, but had been made King of Chypree by his brother-in-law, the late King Philip II of Espana, as only 5'11". His short cropped hair was simply styled. He wore a white and light blue uniform top and a light blue slash a crossed his chest with white and light blue dress trousers. Over that he wore a white, gold and blue Royal cape with golden collar.

King Henri II's cape:
Image

Queen Ionna wore a simple and long flowing white dress with a few blue flower designs in it, with a cape and slash of her own. She wore white gloves to cover her hands with one holding her small white and diamond covered purse, a beautiful topaz and diamond tiara on top of her head, her long light brown hair braided and styled up. Her earrings were long strings of small diamonds. She wore a light blue shawl around her back and elbows. Her skin was lighter than Adela's but still dark and flawless.

The couple was a perfect pair, both young, though Ionna was five years older than her husband at 35. Both of them also were nobles of important families of wealth and power, but they themselves were not very important to Deritain society. The two enjoyed being rulers, the Meillur Region was a Playhouse of Kings, and King Henri and Queen Ionna were kids with a lot of toys. Also, despite being elaborate and seemed vain on the outside, in truth they were simple, happy and descent people who did not need much to be happy.

Queen Ionna walked over to her dear sister and faire le besie with her, smiling and laughing while doing so. It had been Queen Ionna who had watched Adela's children during bith revolutions, it had been Queen Ionna who had helped Adela stand on the world stage and it had been Queen Ionna's idea to overthrow Fredrick. But Ionna did not care that she would never be recognized for doing so, she loved her sister. Adela was the shorter, darker, beautiful one, Ionna was the taller, light skinned and smart one. She then backed away and spoke to Queen Adela.

Adela darling, it is so good to see you again, the palace is to die for, I am jealous

Genes Palace, Genoa.
Presidente Zaheer Abbas.

As the green-and-blue Hudian jet landed, the dozens of reporters, photographers and what not were avoided by me, I looked at the picturesque Genoan sky, with the light blue sky, dotted with clouds. Sure - it was heyday life to see these clouds, but to speak of them poetically was interesting. The smell of the sea enchanted me. What was I wearing? Having to abide Genoan customs, I wore a grey suit - not a Punjabi either. Arriving to the destination, I was shocked.

The beauty of the art, the materials and the food even! Not Hudian standards at all... I wondered. I noticed the Queen being bombarded by a number of guests, so I just looked for another noble. I was certainly younger - 27. I silently sat down in a seat, spying on which noble to start with. The most unknown had walked to me. Three young children.

Queen Adela faire le bise with her sister, smiling at Queen Ionna. Although many thought that Queen Ionna was envious of Adela, in truth Adela was sometimes envious of her sister. Adela had gotten the more important nation, but Ionna's was stable and had never had to worry about losing her head to blood thirsty terrorists.

"Ionna, please, I can't wait to see yours when it is completed. I am sure that it will be fabulous no doubt."

Georges grumbled something. Louise broke the awkward silence "Very Well." Georges and Louise walked out of the group. "Why you ALWAYS like that." Georges sighed "Every bloody things the same like at home. Probably better. " Louise hugged him "We're the best!" Georges face looked away. "No, I need some music for us to dance to." Louise smiled "Your too good for me.". "Excuse me my fair humble Queen Adela. Could you please put music on?"

While the two Selkie drifted towards the Queen, many other people made her acquaintance. Many of them were dressed formally in suit and ties, some in other dresses of royal making. All of them greeted the Queen and engaged her in conversation.
Waari and Mairin were slowly inching closer, just in time to hear King George request music. Of course, the fiddler was interested immediately. She was a musician, she played music to dance to and she wanted to know what people here played to dance to.
The ambassador knew this and smiled, making her own smile even wider as she entered the conversation circle of the Queen. She and her companion were silent for the moment, not wanting to interrupt anything.
That would have been very rude and Selkie were many things but rude.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

"Secretary McNabb. How are you? As President Håstad talked the rest of the Timerian delegation turned to see who it was. They recognized him and remebred the Conner's President had been banned.

McNabb shook his hand, and said, "I am fine, thank you. I just went over and trolled those Deritian Elitists... They think we are filth. How do you think they look from the outside?" He gestured towards the elitist nobles and chuckled.

Queen Adela smiled politely, she and every other noble in the room all disagreed with Louise, the Gênes Palace was better than anything that Georges Spain could build or design. Some of the men huffed at the two, mainly the Count of Recco. Recco was Queen Adela's strongest supporter and most power in the Royal Court and one of the few who actually governed. But the Queen of Genoa was too humble to correct her.

"Why of course, how about something lively."

Dances were usually very formal things in Derita, like everything else, it was a work of art, a beautiful creation of a mixture of twirls, dips and dancers lifting their partners. Under Emperor Christopher II this type of dance was flourishing, but Adela wanted her guests to enjoy the dance without worry about having to do everything perfectly, for Adela was positive that they couldn't do it. Beautiful and fun chanson style music started to play, a medium speed a little on the faster side, which along some to just listen and other to dance.

The three young children if course were Princes Fredrick and Roiel, and although Princess Sophia tried to follow them, she was distracted by the music and started to spin and dance by herself in the ballroom floor between Queen Adela's group and President Abbas. Fredrick and Roiel were five years old and looked exactly the same from their faces to what they wore. The only way to tell the two apart was that the older twin, Dauphin Fredrick, had a lock of his curly hair dyed grey on one side.

The two young boys were loved by everyone and feared by everyone, the Countess of Imperia had adored them, until Fredrick crashed into her sliding down a stair banister. It wasn't all Fredrick's fault, Imperia couldn't really move, she was weighed down by all her diamonds, something Queen Adela found funny, but Imperia did not. That had been the start of their infamous mischievous career, Fredrick doing something and Roiel trying to stop, fix or better it and making things only worse. Fredrick looked up at the president, he was known from just going up and talking to people he found interesting. Roiel bit his nails, he didn't want another Toozoo the Dodo Bird Incident.

"Hello."
