Greetings, great and glorious sir!
Many nations, big and small, always need an army, no matter how many friends or how little enemies you have. As what one man said, "He who has an enemy will meet him everywhere", you would always need something to use to fight back enemies. We have accumulated a combined active and reserve force of 8 million, 1/4th of them being active.
We have something that might interest you: the XCAR-1, designated as M8. It's not chambered for 5.45 or 7.62 NATO, but chambered for a new but promising round: 6.5 mm Grendel. 5.45 and/or 7.62 NATO sounds a bit too mainstream, honestly, and we decided to deviate: use the 6.5 mm Grendel. According to Wikipedia, some sources claim that this round is a middle ground between 5.56 NATO and 7.62 NATO, packing the best of both worlds into one bullet. While 6.5 mm may result to lower magazine size, a major redesign on magazines would be a good solution; make the magazine and the magazine well big. Usually, they are issued in 40-round magazines, but for export models, we use 25-round magazines. Further details:
XCAR-1 (Xtreme Combat Assault Rifle) and variants
Caliber used: 6.5 mm Grendel 120 gr Norma FMJBT
Maximum Lethal Range: 400 m (all variants)
Magazine Size(s): 40-round STANAG
Weight: (loaded, with 40 round STANAG): 3.619 kg
Rate of Fire: 1100 rpm
Muzzle Speed: 820 m/s
Barrel design: 416 Stainless, with 0.5% ceramic, cold hammer forged
Firing system: lever-delayed blowback (bullpup rifle)
Length: 870 mm
Barrel length: 600 mm
The XCAR-1 is the new standard issue assault rifle of the Esalonian ground forces, and is replacing the SR-89. Esalonia has an inhospitable environment, considering that it is situated near the Arctic and encompasses the Bering Strait and some of eastern Siberia, which is as you know cold. Both the SR-89 and the XCAR-1 have the same operational durability in temperate regions, but in extreme environments the XCAR-1 outlives the SR-89 in terms of service life.
During the 8th Arvenian Civil War, the then-issue rifle of the Esalonian Army, the SR-89 (made in 1989 and named the G43 by Fargo Defense-the same one that created the XCAR-1), had its flaws exposed: although it matches the XCAR-1 in all aspects of performance (including the ability to retain its performance in extreme weather) in temperate conditions, it cannot beat the XCAR-1 in terms of survivability, retention of performance, and durability in extreme weather conditions-something Esalonia had since it was situated on the half of Russia and the entire Alaska, and had cold winters-not the right, optimal environment for the SR-89. Furthermore, the SR-89 was slightly heavier and although had matching superiority it cannot cause serious wounding (it was chambered for 5.8 x 42mm DBP10). The XCAR-1's chambering history is as follows:
5.8 x 42mm DBP10
7.62 x 51 mm NATO 147 gr FMJ M80
5.56 x 45 M855A1
6.5mm Grendel 120 gr Norma FMJBT (present round)
6.35 x 45 mm ECE (Esalonian Caseless Experimental)
.50 Beowulf (originally planned)
According to Wikipedia, "Proponents assert that the Grendel is a middle ground between the 5.56 mm NATO and the 7.62 mm NATO. It retains greater terminal energy at extended ranges than either of these cartridges due to its higher ballistic coefficient." This is why the Esalonian Army chose 6.5 mm Grendel 120 gr Norma FMJBT-of all the 6.5 mm Grendel variants, the 120gr Norma FMJBT has the largest muzzle energy. With 24 inches being an optimal barrel length, non-bullpup weapons become not bulky but very space-consuming, given the usual situation of combat in the Esalonian Armed Forces-most of the time, it would be close quarters combat. A bullpup design proved good, but it somehow looked like an shortened M16
The rifle has a bullpup construction, meaning that the magazine is loaded behind the trigger. A lever-delayed blowback system similar to the French FAMAS gives it a high fire rate of 1100 RPM, so it is best advised to fire the weapon in 4-round bursts either by controlled automatic gunfire or by switching to "4RB" in the fire selector for hassle-free 4-round-burst firing. The receiver housing is made of 2800 Maraging Steel, and the rifle furniture made of fiberglass. The fire mode selector has 3 modes, namely 4RB (4-round burst), A (automatic), and S (safe), and for the safe mode, an alternate button can be pressed, much like the one found in the Steyr AUG. Note that if the user presses the button, the fire mode selector, which is of the real-life stereotypical rotating type, goes to S in accordance with the S (safe) button.
It furthermore found itself in tropical regions as the Esalonian troops were deployed in the Philippines after a strong typhoon, assigned for keeping peace levels up whilst also assisting in the construction. While rarely used for combat, it found itself doomed in another flaw: it was easy to clog with water and dust. The solution was to place invisible nano-coating based upon P2i's patented nanotechnology water-proofing. The P2i technology employs plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition processing to apply an ultrathin polymer layer onto all surfaces of a product. The process takes place under low pressure within a vacuum chamber at room temperature. The coating is introduced as a vapor and ionized. This allows for the development of the polymer layer, which forms a covalent bond with the product’s surface, making it extremely durable. Occurring at low pressure, the coating penetrates complex three-dimensional objects, protecting it internally and externally in the one process. As the coating is one thousand times thinner than a human hair, it does not affect the look or feel of products, including the delicate components of electronic devices, or the breathability of lifestyle materials.(source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P2i). Furthermore, the material used is hydrophobic, meaning that it is literally afraid of water. Hydrophobic metal alloys are more or less hard, if not impossible, to produce, given their metallic properties (that's why they're called metals. Duh.). Metallic property is the readiness of an atom to lose electrons, and it increases by energy level and decreases across the periodic table, and usually the metals commonly found in military-grade alloys have the highest metallic properties, meaning they tend to give away electrons easily, and this increases their ability to attract water, which is polarized, and if they attract water, it is hard to let go of them. Circumventing this looked almost impossible until a video from RYOT about a super-hydrophobic metal, water droplets casually bouncing off it. The description said that using a laser-patterning technique grooves on the surface have been reshaped and new ones created, making the metal hydrophobic. (source: http://www.ryot.org/droplets-water-lite ... ace/918246). The trouble of how to apply both was easy to solve: first, the metals were to have their grooves reshaped and new ones created, then the P2i coating was applied. (Problem solved.). As for the barrels, however, reshaping grooves and making new ones more-or-less affect the ballistics of the weapon. The technique makes it easy to maintain whilst having a complex working system.
As of now, only members of the region People's Federation of Qandaristan can purchase the weapon, and the weapon costs $2,500 each. DPRs are not available. (But as for you, sir, you can have the DPR for $1.75 million. And 500,000 pieces for $2m500 each.)
Sincerely Yours,

1st) They already paid
2nd) Your military stock is not bigger than ours. These 210,000 weapons we already sold, are considered obsolete by us and unnecessary.
