Armed separatist struggle initiated in Sweden (MT, IC)

The Norrland Revolutionary Liberation Army (guerilla) has initiated armed struggle to liberate northern Sweden and "bring it towards the correct path of agrarian socialism".

27th June 2018: Two ranger battalion soldiers were ambushed out in the woods of Arvidsjaur. They were approached from the behind by circa 7 guerillas 5 of wich were were carrying Glock 19 88B's, they proceeded to gun them down. There was no real time for the soldiers to react. Their bloody and damaged uniforms were taken.

Following the event a statement was released:

Long live the succesful initiation of peoples liberation war on the 27th June 2018
Our glorious peoples army has proved itself today by initiating the armed struggle! Two fighters for the bourgeois colonialist state of Sweden were liquidated in todays succesful action. Norrland is colonialized and people who deny this are our direct enemies. We will not accept such talk in our presence.
Let all reactionares know and tremble! This is just the beggining! This is just the first day!
We urge all off Norrlands people to join us in the struggle for liberation. We will not stop or be defeated, we will only grow stronger!

The Swedish state has been baffled by this action with experts in "extremism" saying they had never heard of these groups before.

Perotasoa recognizes the freedom of these separatists. However we want them to agree to a referendum where people can choose what they want. Terrorists can't decide what everyone wants.

The events taking place in Sweden are a clear threat to the stability in the region as a result the Canadian Forces will be placed on high alert and be ready for deployment as soon as a request for international support is given our current Active duty soldier count will be raised from 128,000 to 238,000 as until a time as the situation is resolved by military force or by diplomatic reasons. As head of a group of military superpowers known as the United Militay Command or UMC, we support the actions that will be taken against these terrorists. These could be the men that helped aid the bioterrorists in my nation. The bioterrorist were known as The Virus and we have a hunch that your terrorists gave Virus the weapons needed to break into the most secure biological study lab in my nation. Hearing that the NPLA was beginning its revolution, the Swedish state had become convinced that the world's communists were willing to ensure Sweden's destruction at the hands of agrarian socialism, which they remembered had long since even been rejected by communists as political heresy. From the north, there were many reports coming in that the NPLA was rejecting diplomatic overtures from foreign states, leftist ones at that. What the hell was going on? Countless Swedes were fleeing Norrland, finding refuge with sympathetic southern families and friends. But shelters were becoming burdened with the gradual excess, and Swedish soldiers were being sent to up north en masse. Yet, the NPLA was still a viable threat to the integrity of Swedish sovereignty. Norrland was Swedish, that much was certain. The majority of the inhabitants were pro-Swedish. Yet here were a bunch of rebels who suddenly proclaimed "Norrland was colonized," out of nowhere, and the world's leftists were backing them up, tossing aside their own beliefs that "the people's will matters more than anything," which irked Swedish leftists. Why were Swedish interests seen as irrelevant to their ideological brothers and sisters?

As Swedish leftists began publishing pamphlets and blog posts, aimed at convincing their brothers and sisters that the NPLA was "detrimental to the cause of world socialism," Swedes who subscribed to other political theories were also active throughout the country. A war of words was soon to start, and Prime Minister Linus Richardsson found himself wondering how exactly he could handle it. He had already appealed to the NPLA, but they turned him down without hesitation. He tried to rally the Norrlanders, and they were receptive to him, but what could they muster so far against the rebels? It would take some time to coordinate decisive action against the NPLA. But Richardsson knew that he had to do something soon, before the situation worsened. He looked at the family portrait on his desk, and sighed bitterly. His wife, Christina, had been from Norrland, and had taken the news rather solemnly, wondering if her family and old friends would be alright. Linus told her he would do whatever it took to ensure their safety. This he made good on, for Christina's family and friends were brought down to Stockholm and given shelter. But what of the many other families who lived in the region?

"Prime Minister," said his secretary, "you have visitors."

Linus Richardsson found himself back in the real world again. He almost felt like it was a bad dream, but yet here he was, faced with men proclaiming they could help him deal with the problem. These were men he had never seen before, however. In fact, he wagered no Swede had ever encountered them before. They almost felt like aliens descending into Swedish airspace in his eyes.

"Her Imperial Majesty does not find it amusing that agrarian socialists would torment you like this, Prime Minister." said one of the visitors. "She is more than willing to help you out, but there are prices to everything."

Linus Richardsson looked over the visitors. They called themselves "Hobbesians," the rulers of the faraway empire of Ganosia-Veceria. Their empress seemed to be rather concerned for Sweden. "We are like," said another of the visitors, "a big brother coming to the defense of our little sister."

"Just what are you proposing?" Linus Richardsson asked.

"Sweden," he was told, "is about to be attacked."

"What?"

"The world's communists will not stand idly by much longer while you are still effectively controlling Norrland. They will no doubt begin to really intervene."

"I presume," Linus Richardsson replied, "that you wish to do so before them?"

"Yes. We will deploy our legions to help you weed out the problem."

"But you won't be withdrawing your legions?"

"No. We will be compelled to stay until further notice."

"Until you desire to leave."

"Yes. I mean, how could we leave the gorgeous Swedish women in the NPLA's hands?"

"Very funny." Linus Richardsson said. "But how will I tell the people this?"

"Tell them that Sweden was lost, but then she was found."

Being a politician wasn't as easy as people made it sound.

Nor was it as fun.

"What's wrong, love?" asked Christina, watching Linus lay beside her despondantly in the marital bed. This was where they had concieved their children, where they had believed theirs was a life that would be simple and pleasant. Neither of them had expected the NPLA.

"It's those Ganosians I told you about. They want to turn Sweden into a protectorate."

"Have you decided?" Christina asked, remembering the stories. She did some research and found out that the Empire had made quite the name for itself overseas.

"No. I want their aid, but how will the people respond? Would they want to lynch me for doing what the foreigners want?"

"What did they exactly ask for?"

"In exchange for their support, we will give them control of our foreign affairs and defense."

"What of the King?"

"Nothing. For now, I suspect."

Linus sighed bitterly. "It's times like this I think I shouldn't have bothered spontaneously volunteering at that rally. But I felt compelled to do something for this country. Now I feel compelled to just toss it to someone else and say "here, you handle it" and it makes me want to puke."

"You musn't give up. I looked up their country in the world archives. Quinn doesn't seem like a tyrant."

"Quinn?" Linus said. The visitors hadn't mentioned her too much. What did his wife find about her?

"Maybe she will be open to discussion? Maybe there's a way for us to not have to be a protectorate for too long."

"What are you saying, Christina?"

"I'm saying," Christina said, "that we need help. We can't fight an armada alone. Maybe we should be open to the proposal."

Linus Richardsson asked the visitors to return to his office to discuss their offer further.

"We do not aspire to colonize Sweden, nor to lord over her population. We simply wish to contain the situation, before it gets any worse. Have you seen the data we forwarded you?"

"Yes," said Linus. "I've read your information."

"The Bulgars will no doubt try to turn Norrland, and eventually all of Sweden, into a puppet regime. Then SACTO will come in, and the place will become yet another fetid backwater clusterfuck. Do you want that, Linus Richardsson? Do you want your country to experience the ravages of war?"

"Not at all." said Linus.

"Your armed neutrality cannot fight this fight alone. It needs help. That's where we come in. Say the word, and I shall send word to my superiors. Our legions will make landfall."

"Then what?"

"You leave the defense of Sweden to us, as we will have agreed. You will get results quickly. Positive results."

"Is that so?"

"But of course. Here, read this."

"What's this?"

"The treaty that will make everything official. We'll sign the official version publically, of course."

"Sweden will become a protectorate, not a colony?"

"It all depends on what the future holds, Linus Richardsson."

Linus Richardsson now knew that his answer here would shape the course of Swedish history. Would he turn down the Imperial offer, braving the odds himself? Or would he work with the Imperials, constructing a new Sweden? After some more discussion with the visitors, Linus Richardsson, Prime Minister of Sweden, officially declared that the Imperials would be given exactly what they had asked.

Not too long after the signing of the treaty was made public, the first Imperial legions made landfall, and some were told to march into Norrland to deal with the problem. The others simply fortified the rest of the country, turning it slowly but steadily into a massive fortress.

All Linus Richardsson could do was listen to their songs and their speeches, wondering if he really had made the right decision.

"The Second Proposal"

"The People's Republic? We have a monarchy, for heaven's sake!"

Linus Richardsson looked over the Nihonese proposal again, still finding it odd that they would consider his country to be a people's republic. He supposed the Nihonese had disagreed with the staple policies of Sweden, inferring that their policies were superior. But he had no time to debate them over policy matters, and besides they were offering to contribute to the anti-NPLA efforts. The Imperial envoy to the Swedish government had said that Nihonese support would be acceptable - there would be no treaty violation resulting from using it. But Richardsson knew that the Nihonese were also part of SACTO, and he was warned about SACTO and the Bulgars going at it upon Swedish soil. Yet what was he supposed to do? To defeat an armada, you need to build one of your own. So he told his secretary to alert Foreign Minister Adrian Ahlund that he would accept the proposal of Go-Shunyuan, but to have the reply also contain all the information they currently had on the NPLA, which sadly wasn't much yet. The Swedish Front would prove to be useful to the cause as much as the Swedish Expeditionary Force of the Imperials would, Richardsson told the King of Sweden, Oscar the Third, who had found himself pressed by the vows of his ancestors to get directly involved in the war effort.

The Swedish war effort was currently operating in two ways. First, the deployment of the coalition of the willing into Norrland, combing the territory for NPLA forces. Valiant men would risk their lives in the defense of Sweden's territorial integrity. The second was propaganda. The Swedish government announced that Norrland was never "colonized," and had always been an integral part of Sweden. Then came the ideological assaults, consistent rebuttals of agrarian socialist philosophy. Some Swedes took to their own private initiatives, denouncing the NPLA as anything from race traitors to simply a bunch of hooligans and charlatans. Richardsson tried to contain any public outbursts, but protests were becoming more and more prevalent. Not against him, of course, but protests of any sort in this climate could worsen relatively easily. Richardsson found himself wondering why exactly the NPLA had even arisen, sitting in the Palace of the King alongside Imperials, discussing the impending Nihonese intervention. King Oscar looked to be supportive of their involvement. It struck him as horrible that someone would try to divvy up his kingdom, a kingdom that his ancestors had governed, and Nihonese soldiers could help in ensuring that wouldn't happen.

"I shall prepare the necessary documentation on my end," said the Imperial envoy, "to ensure that the Empire will be able to accomodate Nihonese involvement within its sphere of influence."

With that, the Imperial envoy rose from his seat. "Rest assured, Your Majesty, Prime Minister, that we shall ensure a future for Swedish children. That's the nature of Hobbesianism, after all."

Watching the Imperials vacate the premises, the King leaned back into his seat. "Well, Prime Minister, it looks like we may be safe after all. I hope you will do what's necessary to maintain our country."

Richardsson bowed as he rose from his own seat. "It's what I was voted to do."

All of Sweden thanks His Imperial Majesty for offering to support us in these troubling times. The formation of the Swedish Front would be acceptable to our government. Anders Nyström was sitting in a dimmed room with nothing but a typewriter and a desklamp, thinking about the current situation. The Swedish state was starting its military offensive, but also, and as important, it was starting an ideological offensive. The party had already begun producing pamphlets proclaiming that Norrland was in fact colonialized and had only been a part of Sweden formally, that it had always been culturally and economically opressed. These pamphlets were being actively spread all the way from Umeå to Kiruna.
Suddenly the peace was interrupted
"Excuse me, chairman" said a young man peeking in through the door
"What is it now?"
"We have recieved a message via mobile from the comrades in Pajala! The IED's are ready for use." the man said with an excited voice
"I told them not to communicate via tech devices about such matters, warn them! Who do they think they are?"
"I will warn them, chairman!"
Anders went back to his work, the central committee was going to have a meeting soon, he didnt have unlimited time.
Though he was annoyed by the fact that the comrades in Pajala had used mobiles to message them, the fact that their next offensive was coming in no time motivated him.

High on the low orbit on the earth, something has turned. A gleaming body of the military satellite was just flying over Sweden, taking a photos of Norrland, especially focused on locations of major enemy combat units and major enemy forces. The gleaming body of the CubeSat was taking pictures and sending them to Ministry of War in Ishikawa, where general Amakusa Shinzo looked down at them. Amakusa Shinzo was the commander who took command after General Maki Kojiro became shogun; thus his duty was now to ensure peace on the international sphere. He slowly turned around and gave ordered the assistants to write the order.

In international waters a powerful Type 897 supercarrier was swimming, escorting whole fleet which was on routine patrol on Atlantic ocean. Onboard, Fleet Admiral Kobayashi Ryuta was sitting in his cabin, when he heard knocking on his door. After he entered the source to enter, in his doors appeared one of sailors, Lieutenant rank. Saluting him, he spoke:

"Ryuta-Daisho, urgent message from high command" his voice was moving, this probably has been something important. The admiral took his coat and walked with him. They left the cabins and entered the deck, where A10N and A18N were preparing themselves for new exercise. All around them sailors and pilots were preparing themselves for their daily exercises. The new model, supercarrier type 897, was mix of command ship and carrier, thus it shared many functions. Finally, they reached the bridge, where lights of various computers lighted up. Another of officers saluted the admiral, and gave him a piece of paper. Ryuta read it with utter focus, and when he finished, he asked.

"Authenticate!" he ordered his crew.

"Match!" his crew responded after they confirmed. Admiral could not believe his eyes, they were going to Sweden to support the monarchist government.

"All ships this is Kitsune zero, set course two zero three, designation coordinates 58°13'44.08"N / 20°15'29.19"E, over"

"Willco Kitsune Zero, heading for baltic sea, over!" responded captains one by one.

"Affirmative all ships, Kitsune Zero out."

The mighty fleet rolled into action. They were heading for Skagerrak strait.

The Pajala police station erupted in a sudden burst of fire. The screams of personell inside the building could be clearly heard. Fredrik was viewing from a distance, hidding in the bushes, clenching his Psg 90 sniper rifle. He sat waiting for a long time, Pajala was a peaceful community hence a group was amassing around the now burnt ruins, but in the bushes Fredrik was safe from notice as long as he kept quiet, he knew were to go to reach the escape car. After a while most people left to go home and sleep, what was clear now was the police had been alerted. Exactly what Fredrik was waiting for.

Twenty minutes later:
Just as expected a single police car arrived from the nearest municipality, two police men exited the car. Fredrik did what he planned, aimed for the head of the first man and fired, a direct lethal blow. The second police man was shocked and started gripping for his gun though it was out by the time, he did not make it and was also shot. Fredrik directly started leaping for the escape car parked circa half a meter from the spot, he was very stressed now. "What if a second car comes?" he thought. He was not wrong, right on the way towards the car, as he was running through the village, a police car stopped right in front of him.
Fredrik got out the colt he had on him, and was fumbling trying to load the gun. He managed to shoot one policeman exiting the car in the arm but was gunned down by the other one.

It was with great sorrow that we recieved the news of Fredriks passing, but also with a huge motivation, a motivation to continue on a path for wich people have now died struggling. Comrade Fredrik managed to liquidate over four agents of the enemy before passing. He was an honourable comrade, we will remember him for centuries to come! He was a pioneer of the new man!
We now message the reactionaries that your attacks, they do not stop us, they only motivate us.
And we would also like to give a little personal message to the swedish agent who killed our comrade: fear for your family, you will all suffer the wrath of the people. We will kill you with honour, in the name of our comrade, Fredrik!

Two Petchnagonian IL-76 transport aircraft lifted off from their airbase, escorted by two SU27 Flankers, bound for Sweden. In the cargo bays of the two transports was several tons of ammunition, AK-74 rifles, RPG-7's, machine guns, and the like, as well as body armor and helmets for the Swedish fighters.

The large, socialist nation's one and only goal was to spread their ideology, as well as draw the Swedes into a trade union with them. That was the way politics worked. The Swedes would owe them at least that much when this was over. However, they would have to call on a nation with larger transport aircraft to get their large tank force to Sweden if it came to that.
