Bellum Malleum War 2 (Invite Only)

- This is a MT RP
- No WMDs
- All military statistics must come from a Factbook (Unless considered obvious or common for all nations)
- Smaller nations (Will be put on map later) are to be controlled by the nations surrounding them with the consent of the rest of the players (No "My neighbors love me so I annex them.")

Rubicon, capital of Shady Dunes

Suffet Norman Barca entered the senate building with Nihilian Praetorian Guards eyeing him warily as he approached Triarch Imotekh. Some Dunian officers and Ilpup marines mingled with other various officials to commemorate the treaty that was just signed. Norman stuck out his hand for a handshake, which Imotekh quickly shaked as he quickly gave Norman a look over.

"This alliance shall prove useful, eh?" said Norman casually to attempt to illicit a friendship between the leaders.

"I hope so," replied Imotekh. Both men turned towards the cameras and gave a political smile. The broadcast went throughout Bellum Malluem as with reporters excitedly discussing the political and economic ramifications of this event with a single sentence on the banner: NEW "NORTHERN ALLIANCE FORMED."

Nihilakh Brodcasting Center
The red light switched off as the commercial break came on at Nihilakh News at 9. The morning news had included the new forming of the alliance between Nihilakh and Shady Dunes. They had also announced the invitation to other nations to join with the increasing tensions in Bellim Malleum, caused by a space race to get more advanced than other nations. The On Air light switched on again as anchorman Tommy Addanaten reported about the new alliance and it's goals to preserve peace in the region, defend each other if necessary, and advance the nations technologically, socially, militarily, and economically. It was also created to combat other rumored alliances being formed in secret by other nations. Although it was the first publicly announced alliance in the region. Finishing news on the alliance, Addanaten shifted to discussing the other news in the country.

NA diplomats took to aircraft heading for multiple countries, most notably Lipitehsys and Thraka, where some of the best diplomats were arriving. Other smaller nations were recovering diplomats to discuss joining the NA.

Winterhold
Hargott IV, High Stragg of Norigte, raised his hand in a call for silence. The massive crowd beneath the balcony of Norgite's Strragaract, the capital building, instantly responded. "My people," shouted Hargott,"you are all aware, I am certain, that the nations of Shadey Dunes and Nihilakh have formed an alliance, which they call the northern alliance." The crowd watched attentively in the square below, inspired by their powerful leader."This alliance threatens the stability and prosperity of Norgite and the world." angry murmers spread through the crowd in response."Such a power cannot go unopposed, else they shall become unstoppable!" the people shouted their agreement. "Norgite will do all in its power to counter this overly powerful alliance, to insure the prosperity of Norgite and the world!" the crowd broke into a deafening roar and red flags waved throughout the entire nation, which was watching the rally.

After the rally had ended, Hargott set his plan into motion and sent enovys to treat with Korikkia in the hopes of making an alliance to counter-balance the power of the Northern Alliance.

The reigning Leader of Korikkia, Veyeris I, looked up from the transcript laying on his desk, containing the message received only minutes ago from Norgite. The man in full uniform stiffened nervously at his gaze. "Leave me," he commanded. The man wasted no time in leaving his presence. He stared out his window at the Town Square of Keskae and the dreary gray city beyond. The daily floggings were taking place on the steps of the old burned out Parliament building across the large cement square, with a moderate crowd of people being forced to watch under guard the example, and a line of Type 31 tanks rolled by in the street below. His people knew nothing of the new pact between Nihilakh and Shady Dunes. They had no outside contact. He shrugged and turned back to more important matters. He began typing his reply into a state-of-the-art computer, which encrypted the letters as they were typed.

I agree that the new Northern Alliance is a threat to our sovereignty and that a new alliance should be formed.  I suggest we meet immediately to discuss this prospect, and we should invite other nations to join.

The message was immediately sent and similar messages were sent to nations such as Montau, Penguoin, Czechostan, and others.

The Emperor of Penguoin, Maximus Brandenburg III, commonly called "Kaiser Max" by his people, woke up to another beautiful day in his country. The new prime minister had just been elected and needed to be sworn in by the Emperor. It was going to be a busy day full of cheering crowds and news reporters. He opened the window to let some fresh air in, accidentally tripping the palace alarms. Dozens of Thule Crusaders poured into the room, only to find the Emperor drinking some tea.

"My Lord" said one of the masked soldiers, "It is dangerous for you to open the windows. There could be snipers on opposing buildings!"
The Emperor scoffed "Oh please you crusaders are always overreacting! I still remember on my coronation day you almost killed that poor old man when he threw me some flowers! I am the bloody Holy Emperor of Penguoin, if i want some fresh air, I'll get some fresh air!"

"I'm sorry My Lord, we were only doing our duty to protect you. After the terrorist attack we cant be too careful"
"Terrorist Attack!" the Emperor replied, "That was 5 years ago! And we've made peace with the Umbar rebels since then, the war is over! Now go back to your duties, and if I catch you guys searching little kids for explosives again, there will be serious consequences!"
"Yes My Lord" the crusaders said before walking away

Moments later Senator Johann walked into the room. "Your majesty, I have urgent news!"
"What, is Shady Dunes training his troops?" the Emperor asked sarcastically
"No, well yes, well, that's not the point. Shady Dunes and Nihilakh have formed a military alliance!"
"Oh, how surprising!" the Emperor said sarcastically
The Senator continued "Norgite and Korrikia have formed their own alliance to oppose it, and they invited us to join"
The Emperor burst out laughing and continued until he realized the Senator was serious. "Korrikia and Norgite, want us as allies? The most brutal dictatorships in Bellum Maellum want to align with our great nation of flourishing freedom and democracy? Please tell me no one in the senate is taking this seriously?"

"Well, it is being discussed quite a bit..." the senator started but was quickly interrupted by one of the Emperor's characteristic rants
"Those idiots! Norgite's people love their dictator, so its tolerable, but Korrikia's dictator is as cruel as they come. And to think that I would have to sign a treaty with that, that, Savage! Why are we even considering this? I thought we were making secret plans to invade Korrikia, course the military never tells me anything these days. We cannot, we will not be apart of this axis of evil, do I make myself clear?!"
"Yes your majesty. I shall tell the other senators, and send a polite decline to the governments of Norgite and Korrikia. But what if war breaks out between these 2 alliances? This is Bellum Malleum, war is inevitable!"
"If that does happen we shall do what we have always done"
"And what is that your majesty?"
"We shall side with Montau! Now, if you excuse me, I have a Prime Minister to swear into office"
The Emperor walked into his closet while the Thule Crusaders escorted the Senator out of the room.

Eurian, Lehysian Capital Island

A sleek aircraft glided through the night, heading to the Eurian Capital Area Airport. Upon landing and entering into the light of the floodlamps at the airport, it became clear through the rain that this aircraft belongs to the Nilian delegation that was scheduled to arrive. The Nihilians had previously sent a short-notice request for a meeting to Lipitehsys, and upon being granted an audience dispatched a plane laden with diplomats to the Lehysian Isles. That plane was just arriving now.

Lehysian Executive Building

A clerk entered the office of President Sa'adatmahir and, upon being noticed, delivered his message. "Mr President sir, the Nilian delegation just arrived at the airport, shall I send them right to you?" The President nodded his affirmative and the clerk went on his way. The Nihilians had suddenly requested a meeting earlier in the day, and had yet to declare their motives. President Sa'adatmahir could only guess that they had come to solicit Lipitehsys' membership in the Northern Alliance, since that seemed to be dominating the news everywhere. That alliance and the rival alliance Korrikia and Norgite were supposedly forming. An alliance of horrendous dictatorships seemed appalling to the President, and he shuddered at the thought. He had to take steps to protect the Lehysian way of life and prevent it from those hell-bent terrorist havens.

Peace. At last we are at peace.

President Čestmír Svoboda drummed his fingers on the elliptical, dry table. The bitter civil war had to come to a close, and the reds had cemented their power as the rulers of Czechostan. The military was more prepared for combat than ever, although its readiness juxtaposed this. Little infrastructure was destroyed in the fighting, as the civil war lasted only a few months and focused on the urban centers of Czechostan. Civilian casualties were much lower than expected, but this was a mixed blessing. Agriculture and food was sent to the military, much to the burgeoning populace's dismay, and starvation was a rampant problem. Svoboda supported immediate demobilization, but other prominent socialist leaders were against this.

"Bellum Malleum is a powder keg waiting to erupt," affirmed General Lysoka. "I highly suggest we slow down this demobilizing process. Our military may come in handy. We've fought hard to proclaim Czechostan a Soviet Republic and fighting a second war to assert the workers' rightful control of the economy seems redundant."
"What is the point of having a military if there is no one for it to protect?" questions revolutionary Kopřivová. "Our people are starving and dying of easily preventable disease. We need to transfer food to the civilians and prove to them that the conflict has finally closed."
Lysoka was starring daggers at Kopřivová. Goddamn pacifist coward...
The taciturn Svoboda made no comment on the situation or quarrel. He almost faded out of the conversation entirely; he would have, if his secretary wouldn't have reminded the room of his existence. Jezibel Hreck requested his presence in his office. Silently, he walked out of the room, taking the atmosphere of hostility and debate with him.
"What is this about?" asked Svoboda, outside of the conference room.
"We appear to have received a telegram from the nation of Korikkia," responded Hreck.
Svoboda's lip quivered. "What do they want with us? Our political systems are... antithetical."
"A mutual pact, it seems," she said, opening the door for Svoboda.
"Thank you," he mechanically responded.
She left his presence.

There was a lone typed letter, resting on his desk. Svoboda hesitantly picked up the letter and read it to himself. A request for an alliance? Most odd. Surely someone is plotting... Svoboda weighed out his options. Although it was against Czechostan's democratic nature, Svoboda ordered a reply to be sent agreeing to the alliance. Czechostan desperately needed allies and military protection. Totalitarian, democratic, he thought, it's all the same. Especially from a military standpoint.

"Gentlemen, we have a large problem on hand, we have to powers rising and we must join one or stay out of what ever happens."
"My lord, it is not our battle" says a strange man at the end of the table, "we do not need to join any side we can live on our own."
"But that is where you are wrong we don't have a navy to protect our transports, we won't have any supplies to make space launches. So from this point forward we are with the northern alliance, and I want all out of country supplies stock piled for the worst of time and take the country up to "Grey" alert, gentlemen this is it.... And someone please send a message to Shady Dunes tell him we are in."
Later that day all over Thraka warehouses opened and supplies from paper to uranium were put in to storage.

Ansilvund
General Wulthgar, commander of the Western Winter Guard, looked over the war map silently. What he saw did not please him at all, and for the first time in years, he began to feel fear creeping its way into his mind. Norvia was nation on Norgite's western border and it was farther north than the other nations around it, making it Norgite's only competition for dominance in the Northern Ocean. Relations had always been poor and after they aided the rebels in Norgite's last rebellion, war was threatened. Now, over a decade since the failed rebellion, orders had finally come down from Winterhold that Norvia was to pay for its part in the rebellion. Wulthgar would never disregard orders, but he feared that this war would only be the beginning of a much greater conflict. His 50,000 Winter Guard were tasked with holding the western border while the full might of the navy crashed down upon Norvia's coast. The airforce was being relocated to the west and bombers were being readied. The war would be swift and deadly for Norvia, but Wulthgar feared how the Northern Alliance would respond.

OCC: I have not invaded Norvia (blue and on my western border in the map) I have only prepared to invade it and declared war. My reasoning is that they aided rebles in the rebellion

Winterhold
Norgite's High Stragg, Hargott, sat at his desk in Winterhold's Imperial Palace. Calmly, he began to deliver his speech to the world: "On this day, Norgite will finally make the nation of Norvia pay for its actions in the southern rebellions. They intentionally armed the rebels and are therefore responsible for every life taken during the rebellion. They sought to harm the unity of our great nation and undermine our efforts to unite the northern lands. For these acitons, the council of Straggs and I have taken a vote on the matter and officially declared war on the nation of Norvia. Let it be known that we seek only to supplant Norvia's current government with one that will work towards creating stability in the north, and not intentionally arm rebels to create instability. I urge other nations to stay out of this conflict and not allow it to escalate further. To the members of the Alliance for Global Stability, namely Korikkia and Czechostan, I say this: we have every right to supplant Norvia's government and do so only to ensure peace. Norgite hopes that you will continue to stand with us against the Northern Alliance. That is all." The transmission was ended and Hargott sat in quiet thought for a moment, knowing that his speech may have indirectly ended the lives of hundreds of millions of people, it the northern alliance chose to escalate the conflict.

The Free Peoples of Jai-Teh–Shire

Jai-Teh-Shire is the largest nation neighboring Shady Dunes. It is comprised of many farms with very little national regulation except for its capital, the port city of Jai-Teh. The technology is behind the rest of the world, but they keep up through many trade deals involving their produce. The announcement of the formation of the Northern Alliance has caused what few politicians Jai-Teh-Shire has to discuss the current situation.

“The Dunians have gone too far! We managed to keep our independence from it by having an equal share in the agricultural market. We joined the damn cartel to appease their damn corporations!”

“Oh shut it, Chi. You know damn well the Dunians care not for expansion so long as we help make them profits. They even repay us by letting us keep all the money we make and they sell us the equipment we need to run the farms at full efficiency.”

“You gorram sonuva quim! You’re probably taking bride money! How many of you ‘countrymen’ are dirty? Huh?!?”

With that this Chi character pulled out a worn revolver, as did the rest of the thirty politicians that conduct the trade deals. Talks like these happened throughout these “Grain Nations” that share the eastern border of Shady Dunes. All were under its economic might, forced to join a cartel to increase profits for all with the food market. Fears of the alliance with a military power like Nihilakh caused panic to the politicians, but the average farmer who makes up 99.9% of the population couldn’t give a damn. Time will tell what these grain nations will do.

OOC: Just giving the NPCs I added some relevancy.

Fifult
The capital city of the small nation to the Northwest of the Nihilakh border, Jupintier, was alive as people made their way throughout their business, but none were more alive than the Kings office, where he sat with his nobles discussing what to do, he and his nobles had been discussing the new alliance between Nihilakh, Shady Dunes, and Thraka for multiple days now. The debate had become fire as the nobles spat and yelled at each other about what to do. Only the calm of the King was keeping the debate from erupting into a fistfight. Two sides had emerged from the nobles, one which wanted to submit to the NA and not get themselves destroyed, for they may have been able to hold off Nihilakh or Shady Dunes, maybe even Thraka, but all three, they would be annihilated without trouble. The other side wanted to show their strength and denounce the new alliance, and form one of their own. They had previously had trouble with their neighboring countries, but know they could unite under this threat. If not, Nihilakh may begin to annex their country like they had many decades ago, but this time, may not stop until the entire country is under Nihilian control. The King sighed while his nobles argued more and more. “Enough,” his voice was tired, but even and controlled, and the nobles fell silent, “we will go to others for aid, form a new alliance.” Half the room cheered, the other half shot daggers with their eyes at the King. “Call to Eler, Nion, Gunilian, Cosal, Seakonia, and Poyatan. They will join us, or they will not. Under this new alliance, we will be called—“
Nion City
The senate hall was a dull roar as everyone quietly talked amongst themselves, the threat of the new NA was bearing down on the people, and many of them were too nervous or worried to be happy or talk much. They would be called to session as soon as the Master of the Senate arrived. And look, there he is now. He wore his customary multi-colored robe, green for the fields, red for the blood, purple for the people, and yellow for the freedom, and quickly made his way into his chair at the front of his room. As he was about to sit, everyone stood. He nodded and sat, to which everyone responded by sitting themselves. “Let us be-“ the Master of the Senate was interrupted before he could even begin as the great doors to the senate hall burst open and a man whom was quite out of breath sprung forward into the room. “Your honors!” he spoke between gasps addressing the whole room, “Jupintier calls for an alliance to aid against the new NA, they request troops to make a show of strength!” The room was quiet for a full three seconds as everyone held their breath to see how the Master would respond. “…And Nion will answer!” He called as everyone stood and cheered. They began making plans to gather some troops and prepare to move. A similar scene was happening throughout Isildur as many other small nations joined this alliance.
Gheden
Triarch Ulthran watched the large screen as the channel 4 Nihilakh news came on from a commercial break. "Reports are coming in from leaders of the Northern Alliance that it will no longer be known as the Northern Alliance, consideration has shown that only one nation currently in the alliance is truly in the North, so the alliance has announced by its leaders that it shall henceforth be known as the Isildur Alliance, named after the continent that all current members currently reside in. With this new naming-" the screen shut off as the Triarch stood and pressed a button on his remote. "Excellent, that's over with," he spoke to no one in particular, but all of the cabinet members in the room with him all nodded along, showing their agreement. "Next on our agenda, the diplomats."
"Yes, sir. The delegates have arrived in all nations with the exception of a few, most notably Norgite and Korikkia. Delegates have begun negotiations to attempt to get other nations to join the N- excuse me- IA. Negotiations have already succeeded in Thraka, and seem to be going well in Lipitehsys. Other small nations seem to be leaning towards joining as well. However, the nations to the East of us seem to be forming an alliance of their own to counter ours. This new alliance shouldn't be a threat, however, our S-4s have detected large gatherings of troops near our border. We have no idea what these troops are there for, whether to scare us or attack us, but we should decide how to act."
"Thank you. Now, I will not stand for armies to gather off our borders without some kind of response, gather 20,000 troops, two Immortal divisions, and some destroyer air wings to counter them. We will fight if they want us to..."
The meeting continued for a long time after this, and the national leaders continued to talk amongst each other. “… and this will allow for a tax break on the ex-military, but the others will be left out,” one of the delegates was saying while he used a long stick to point to key items on a projector screen. The lights came back on and the delegate was seated while Triarch Ulthran signed papers that will put that into effect. Although the Triarch was the only one who could sign something to law, his delegates tended to make a law, put it together, present on its pros and cons, and the Triarch, like in this case, can sign it or throw it away. “Now, let’s move onto the last topic of business,” Ulthran spoke as he pushed the paper into a slot for new laws that will later need to be announced. This was one of his tri-yearly delegate meetings that were planned, any other ones were because of an emergency, and generally weren’t as long, nor did they pass as many laws. But this particular meeting had already passed 8 new laws, more than usual, as well as multiple acts for the nation, most notably the gathering of troops to be sent to the border to defend against the small alliance being formed. But this last topic was of the utmost importance. “Thank you, sir,” the foreign advisor stood up and walked over to the screen as the lights dimmed. “As we all know, the Norgite government has issued a declaration of war against the small nation of Norvia, off their West coast. They claim that the Norvians supplied a small rebellion in Norgite a couple years ago, and that this is a mere payback to that support. In my opin-,” he was cut off by the movement of the Triarch’s hand, “We don’t need an opinion right now, we just need the facts.”
“Right, sorry,” the delegate adjusted his glasses and stood up straighter, cleared his throat, and continued, “The Norgite military is vastly superior to the Norvian, and Norvia has no allies in this conflict, but Norgite can call upon the ranks of Korikkia to help them fight. In addition, Norgite’s population and industry advantages would allow it to be more powerful than Norvia. In other words, Norvia has no chance in this war.”
“Alright, pros and cons of this conflict,” Ulthran spoke as the projector switched from a map of the other half of the world to a large chart. “Yes, the pros would be it would distract the world if we decided to annex other nations, as well as we don’t have the best relations with the current Norvian government either, but if we catch them at the right time and offer military support, we may be able to gain enough influence and military power to install a new government to our liking. However, this would be difficult in the face of the by then full force of the Norgite military. Our cons seem to be that this would give Norgite undisputed claim of the North Sea in the West, as well as make us look like we don’t care about other countries if we don’t help them. If we were to pledge support, or at least denounce Norgite, it would make the IA look good to the international world. Questions, anyone?”
The lights came back on as the delegate looked around the room, and now he shuffled over to his seat and sat down. “Recommended course of action?” Ulthran spoke as he looked around the room, although he knew what he was probably going to do anyways. “Military action is inadvisable, as that would probably erupt the whole world in war, along with the problem of the new alliance to our East,” the military advisor spoke. He was a timid man, not a good personality for military advisor. “I think our best course of action is to denounce the invasion, because there is little to no evidence that the rebels were supported by the Norvians.”
“I agree,” the Triarch spoke, “we will denounce the invasions and begin trade sanctions if they invade Norvia.”
“Very good, sir.” The secretary of the delegation was scribbling quickly as he struggled to keep up and write everything down that was being said, while the scribe calmly wrote down this new decree, his job being only to write actions that were to go into effect. “With that,” Ulthran began, “I find this delegation closed if there are no further matters to discuss.” The room was silent and Ulthran stood up, “Very well, meeting adjourned.”
Later that day, the new laws were announced on Nihilakh news, and the decrees, including military movements to the East, and the denunciation of the invasion of Norvia, were made by Ulthran later that day.

"Mr. President! The countries of Norgite and Korikkia have offered for us to join their alliance to counter the Isildur Alliance." President Sean Aun'va muttered "yeah, sure, do it." The secretary looked puzzled at the president's nonchalant reaction "why sir?" the secretary asked. The president looked up at his trusted friend and said "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Send spies to infiltrate any Isildur Alliance nation, and send this message to Penguoin. That is all" The secretary left with the message in hand, and the president hailed General Joseph Yungman "Good afternoon Mr. President" said a blond haired man who looked like he was in his late 30's he was wearing a simple dress uniform without any medals or stripes, just twp strips of five stars on each side of his collar "Good afternoon General Yungman, we are joining the Alliance for Global Stability, we have the most powerful navy in the world, with our only competition being Norgite, if we ally with them, our alliance will dominate the seas. Anyways, I called you to review our plan for beating the NA, should war break out, let's start with Nihilakh." President Aun'va pulled up a map of the world, zoomed in on a Nihilian city, and focused on the walls. He could see the flak cannons and howitzers, they were well maintained despite there being no war yet. "20 foot tall concrete walls, a tomahawk missile would easily make a pretty big hole." Said General Yungman "probably even just a grenade would do it." President Aun'va replied, the two continued to go over strategies against Nihilakh.

The nation of Montau is joining the Alliance for Global Stability, and I ask you to join, because, even though Korikkia is a brutal dictatorship, having a brutal dictatorship on your side can have it's advantages, and we have always been allies. Even still, I can tell that Korikkia will not last, it is heading for an economic collapse, anyone can see that, and you can be ready to take it when it falls. It will be considerably more difficult to do so if you aren't on my side. And if you do decide to join the Isildur Alliance, then I hope we do not meet each other in battle, because I like your country and would hate to see it in ruins.

Vior'la: 4th Legion army barracks

"INSPECTION!" Lieutenant Anderson shouted, and the entire squad lined up in front of their bunks as the Lieutenant searched up and down, after a few minutes he said "Alright squad, head to the firing range until 1100 hours. The squad headed towards the firing range where they got new weapons. "Is this a typo?" asked Private Biggs, Anderson walked over and looked at it "Clot M4" he said. "Mine says the same thing" another Private chimed in. At this point, Anderson pulled out his laptop and searched 'Clot M4' and got a result, "Clot Arms, it's a knockoff brand" Anderson said. "They're giving us knockoff weapons!?" asked Private Brewer. "Let's see how they are before we condemn them." said Lieutenant Anderson as he loaded a magazine, put it in the gun and yelled "Clear downrange?" "Downrange Clear!" yelled the officer in charge of the firing range. Anderson fired off three shells at 25 m, and missed all three. He switched to full auto and emptied the magazine in short bursts of fire. "The sights were off, and it's got a 3 inch spread at 25 meters." Anderson said. "I've seen naval strikes more accurate than that at 25 kilometers" said Private Brewer. "Then you should've joined the navy" replied Anderson "in the meantime, you've got an hour and a half of practice with these new weapons before lunch, get moving!"

Vior'la Harbor

"Admiral on deck!" Exclaimed the XO. The entire bridge stood at attention as Admiral Abraxis walked in. "At ease" he said, and everyone relaxed "let's see what the orders are" he said as he sat down in the captain's chair and turned on the screen in front of him. "drum roll please" Everyone started hitting their thighs as Admiral Abraxis said "And the orders are... 'Taskfleet Alpha will participate in firing exercises to test the fleet's combat readiness -President Aun'va.' Alright, let's go"

"Due to current circumstances an alliance would seem to be quite effective in achieving our goals" the man says to the dictator of Califrax as he shuffles his papers. Vothuryl III, the supreme dictator of Califrax leans back in his chair, sighing as he looks across the room. "Hmm, yes I suppose an alliance would prove to be effective." Vothuryl III says as he taps his fingers together. A servant sets down a platter with refreshments on the table in between the two men. "Bloody hell! I said no ice. That's what's wrong with our country these days. Too many bloody fools!" shouts Vothuryl III as he flips the platter on to the floor, smashing all the drinks. "Okay, just don't hurt me." The servant cowers and quickly scurries away. Another servant cleans up the shattered glass on the floor. "As I was saying, I agree with you one hundred pecent on this" Vothuryl III calmly responds.

The nation of Califrax accepts your alliance proposal and thinks an alliance between our nations will prove to be quite effective in the future. We look forward to discussing this more later.

Eurian, Lehysian Home Isles

The diplomats from Nihilakh prepared to leave Lipitehsys, having achieved their goal. Prime Minister Cornelius Patricius would deliver an address to the people of Lipitehsys later that day, to inform them of Lipitehsys' ascension. Lipitehsys has a small military, if it could even be considered that, but it is well funded and has years of experience as a result of a combination of training as well as operations against pirates. It would prove to be a force to be reckoned with at sea and in the air, but was nonexistent on land, its biggest weakness. Therefore, President Sa'adatmahir decided to join the Isildur Alliance, so as to better utilise the strengths of Lipitehsys and cover its weaknesses.

Minister Patricius stepped to the podium. The speech he was about to deliver would change the course of Lipitehsys, and hopefully provide protection for all of the people of Lipitehsys in such turbulent times.
"People of Lipitehsys, I am here today to announce that Lipitehsys will be joining the Isildur Alliance so as to further the security of all of our great nations, and to deter potential threats. It is my hope that all of Lipitehsys will be able to continue their lives, and that war shall never taint our famed isles. Thank you for your time"
Despite yet another rendition of Minister Patricius' famously short speeches, the meaning was clear. News stations all throughout Lipitehsys were abuzz with the news, and nearly every Lehysian was informed almost immediately. Dinner conversations were dominated by the news, and families argued over the merit of the decision throughout the land; however, upon reviewing the history of Lipitehsys, the choice was clear. The Alliance was for the best of the small nation.

Lipitehsys shall accede to the Isildur Union, in order to preserve the security of all of our nations. Hopefully this alliance shall prove to be a mighty force in the world, and strike fear into the hearts of all foes. We appreciate your offer of membership.

The strong storm was no worry for the fifty seven sailors aboard the Eurian class guardship. They had already secured and stowed away all four aircraft on board, and therefore the only concern was abated. Lt. Naomi Furuyama had seen much worse, and the slight rocking of the huge ship was almost comforting. Through the rainy window, she could see large swells, and, beneath the dark grey sky, the other two ships in her patrol. She recoiled instinctively as the ship fell into a gap between the waves and a massive swell engulfed the bow then passed her window. She had recently heard from Captain Dixon that Lipitehsys had join the Isildur Alliance. Naomi was surprised, as the old Captain had called Korikkia by its old name of The Orphan Slaughterhouse up until last month, even though that name had changed many years ago. Naomi had not expected to find the Captain up to date on global politics. Even less, she had not expected to be sent off to war. But now war seemed likely, as she and her patrol were sent off to monitor the situation in the smaller nations near Nihilakh. Tensions had recently ramped up, and conflict almost seemed inevitable.

Maj. Gen. Rudiger von Goltz awoke to the Penguoin National Anthem, his ringtone. He answered "Maj. Gen. Goltz, Altic Sea Division"
"Gen. Goltz" it was the Prime Minister, "We're having an emergency senate meeting, we need you in attendance immediately"
"You want me to fly all the way to Dreughrbuurn? Now? What about the military exercises scheduled? What about..."
"Montau's joined the 'Alliance for Global Stability'"
Gen. Goltz was shocked. "I now understand the gravity of this situation. I'll be there immediately"

Several hours later Gen. Goltz stepped into the senate chamber which was heavily guarded and scanned hourly for listening devices. The Emperor himself was in attendance, along with every military chief of staff. There was one man in the chamber Gen. Goltz did not recognize, but with the Nihilian flag displayed proudly on the stranger's shoulder, it was obvious who the man was; ambassador Richard Edward Prescox, Nihilian delegate to Penguoin. Gotz also noticed the incredibly distressed look on the Emperor's face, the face he always wore when he had to make a tough decision.
Goltz bowed to the Emperor "Your Imperial Majesty, it is an honor"
"The honor is mine Goltz. Your Altic Sea boys are the most experienced division in the entire Army. That is why you have been called here; After giving the matter serious thought, Me, the Senate, and therefore the people of Penguoin have decided to join the Isildur alliance. However, as we have pointed out to Mr. Prescox here, Penguoin reserves the right to leave the alliance at any time."
"Oui, oui monsieur" replied the Nihilian Ambassador. "I shall inform my government at once, adieu"

"It's obvious" the Emperor continued, "the IA clearly has both the moral and military high ground. But as you know, joining this alliance means turning our back on Penguoins oldest and greatest ally; Montau. It also means that we shall be completely alone on a continent of enemies, especially Califrax and Korrikia who are right on our border"
"That is were you come in Gen. Goltz" said Field Marshall Freiheit Bismark, commander of the Imperial Army. "The Altic Sea division is to be stationed along the Califraxian border in case of an invasion."
"But what about the operation Liberty, the planned invasion of Korrikia?"
"I'm sorry Goltz, but this is most likely going to be a defensive war, we need to focus on our own borders"

Just then the Montau ambassador burst in the chamber shouting and raising his fist before being restrained by guards "This is an outrage! Penguoin will pay for this treachery!"
"You betrayed us the second you climbed in bed with tyrants and dictators!" one senator shouted
"Why don't you come and fight me like a man?!"
"Man? you'll never be half the man your mother was Montau scum!" the senator replied as the chamber roared with laughter. The Emperor however could do nothing but sit in his throne and silently weep. He had fought alongside Montau soldiers in previous wars, and personally knew President Aun'va. The fellow senators noticed his weeping, and their laughter was silenced.

Port Pelargir, Umbar province
"Admiral ON DECK!" shouted one seaman as all others stood at attention. Onto the ship deck stepped Vice Admiral Shaggy Maclochlainn O'Connor, a huge heavy built man with an ungroomed red beard and the smell of fresh whiskey in his breath. "Alright lads, lookin' good, lookin' go *burp* od, ah were's me parrot?"
"Sir, your parrot died in last week's firing exercise sir!" replied another seaman
"Oh yeah, now I remember! Men take note: from now on, all cannon barrels are to be properly checked for blockage before firing exercises begin!"
"Sir Yes Sir!" cried all shipmen
"Now, let us have a look at our orders! But first a moment of silence for me dead parrot, ah..."
"Jimmy sir"
"Ah yes, Jimmy, a moment for Jimmy, fine sailor he was...That's enough silence I'd say, now orders!"
Admiral O'Connor and the ships commissar unlocked the vault taking out a slip of paper. O'Connor scanned the document, confused. "Commissar, read this here please, I think me drunk eyes deceive me." The commissar took the sheet of paper reading out loud: "Fleet Maud is to patrol the south sea in preparation for...a possible Montau attack? Signed Grand Admiral Dunitz, long live the Emperor"
"Well its not everyday ye get an order like that, but orders are orders! Lads, prepare to set sail, and if ye don't, I'll throw ye overboard meself! Understood?"
"Sir Yes Sir!"

Rubicon, Shady Dunes

The senate began to gather in their great chamber. Their wolf goddess guarded the doors as a marble bust, judging all who enter her city’s capital building. As the senators took their seats Suffet Barca approached the center podium to maintain order as the business of running a country began.

“The first matter at hand is the new alliance announced by Norgite to counter our own alliance with Nihilakh.” Several senators began clapping to drown out Barca. This was a sign the senators wished to skip this issue as they thought it was below them. More than likely regional governors would enforce trade embargos or tariffs on these nations in the other alliance. Barca then cleared his throat for the next issue.

“Next are our western neighbors. A prince, it seems, is rallying the states for an anti-IA nation.”

“Let them be!” ordered a senator, “So long as we treat the eastern states nicely they will remain divided.” Senators began to stand up to show they agree. Norman bowed to show his understanding of their wishes and moved on to the next topic.

“Next is the Norgonian declaration of war on a ‘Norvia’. As Suffet I recommend economic reparations.” This time senators began to discuss amongst themselves about what to do. Norman mainly heard words of approval, until a growing voice from his right began calling for military intervention.

“Send in some officers! Have them train the Norvians in insurgency so even if Norgite engages they will have a tough fight from occupation to the end of time!” shouted one senator. Slowly the senate began to murmur in agreement, until Barca took his mallet and began whacking the podium.

“ORDER!” he shouted. Barca looked around to see who showed favor for this plan of action. He spotted the ring leaders and turned to them, formulating a response. “Military action against the Norgonians, and thus their new alliance, would be an invitation for war. As much as that seems like a good idea, we are ill-prepared for war outside our borders.”

This topic of debate soon overruled all other subjects for the day with no end in sight. The senate was split.

High Hill, Lupisviri

High Hill is an average little town in Lupisviri. The buildings are mainly wood cabins but slowly the infrastructure of the coasts was pushing inland. From this quaint little town the Hillmen clan controlled most of inland regions, making them the most powerful Great Clan. Today leaders from the other Great Clans, such as the Soft-Paws, the Stone-Swords, the Everwinters from Everwinter Island, etc, came to High Hill to discuss the Isildur Alliance. Just as the other Grain Nations had begun debating, both sides made their cases well. As the debate raged on, with no side gaining the high ground, the soft spoken Cliff-Runners began to speak.

“I can see you are all afraid of losing our independence to the Dunians. But, are we speaking Dunian? Do we use the Dunian Credit in our markets? No! The only thing the Dunians have in common is the worship of the great Ilpup, blessed are her Arbors, and even then they believe a falcon is the great wolf’s messenger! We are not Dunians. We will never be. But, have you traded with the other continent? I have traded with the ‘fascist.’ They tear away the culture of their neighbors with a near worship of their leaders. We will no longer be Sons, or Daughters, of the Wolf if they come to our continent! We must support our friends the Dunians, even if we are to lose our national freedom we will never lose our cultural freedom!”

As the speech echoed around the great hall of the Hillmen’s estate, some began to applaud the Cliff-Runner. Words such as “Better the Dunians than the fascists” began to circulate and it soon became clear the consensus was to not harm the Dunians despite the alliance. As the men and women left to head back to their domains the Cliff-Runner’s phone began to ring. He answered quickly.

“Yes?”

“Are they against us or not?”

“They’re convinced. Now that Lupisviri won’t go against you the other grain nations should follow suite.”

“Excellent. You did well and the money has been wired to your account. You have helped Shady Dunes and we won’t forget it.” With that the call ended and the Cliff-Runner smiled. “They won’t invade us, anyways. So long as we comply…” he thought. Any flicker of doubt the man had washed away as he saw his marines waiting outside his car. “The Dunians can’t match our warriors anyways.”

As the message slowly spread from Lupisviri to the other Grain Nations words of fighting the Dunians soon dissipated as if the whole alliance ordeal never happened.

Northern Coast of Norvia, within sight of capital
Exploding aircraft fell from the sky and the water appeared to be on fire as the Norgonian fleet grappled in an intense duel with the considerably smaller Norvian navy. Small, but well supplied. High Admiral Toregg on the NSS Hargott, the supercarrier which served as the fleet's flagship, watched with an emotionless expression as he watched a Norgonian frigate violently explode and sink into the ocean. Losses had been expected, everything was going as planned. "Focus air fire on that cruiser", commanded Toregg,"That must be their flagship." He had noted that it stayed on the edges of the fighting and intercepted transmissions confirmed their fleets commander was on board. Norgonian aircraft dove out of the sky, passing over the ship and laying down heavy fire. Multiple torpedo hits from Norgonian cruisers finished it and within minutes the Norvian air units withdrew, leaving the remains of their fleet to fend for themselves. "message the army to begin its attack", said Toregg,"and begin the bombardment of their capital." A heavy naval bombardment began and ariel drones identified many of the military targets within the city. By the time the bombers departed the carriers to begin bombing targets further inland, litlle coastal resistance remaind.
Total losses: Norvian fleet destroyed (3 cruisers, 4 frigates, 1 submarine), Norvia lost 125 fighter aircraft, Norigte lost 2 frigates and 1 cruiser along with 50 fighter aircraft.

Norvian Eastern Border
The Norgonian forces on the border began a full scale assult on Norvia after the very successful naval assault. Resistance gave way under the advance but they threw up a strong defensive line 50 miles into Norvia. Norgonian artillary has begun bombardment and the forces prepare to assault the line. 50,000 Norgonian Winter Guard have attacked and are supported by 10 high altitude bombers, 100 fighters, 20 helicopters, 30 attack helicopters, 150 tanks, 10,000 armored fighitng vehicles, 500 artillary, and 50 multiple launch rocket systems. Also, 50,000 NAS soldiers are coming to aid the Winter Guard.

Norvia has 200,000 soldiers but most are poorly equipped, 30 fighters, 5 attack helicopters, 20 tanks, 2,000 afv's, 100 artillary and 5 mlrs's.

The 15 men stood in a small, dark conference room around a map lit by an overhead lamp, the only conventional light source in the room. All around the room computers cast a more ghostly glow. The map was a battle map of the current situation in Norvia. All sorts of markings denoted troop movements, roads, towns, and other things of strategical importance. "So that's it, then," Veyeris I said, "we will help Norgite, as all good allies must. General Kerev, mobilize the 86th Corps for cold assault. I also want three armored regiments to accompany them. You are dismissed." One of the men, his chest weighed down with awards and medals, bowed and quickly left the room. Veyeris turned to another general. "General Ederiv, assemble the 7th and 8th Armies and the 1-10th armored regiments. I want them placed in the south, but keep all movements secret and under roof. I don't want anyone to know about this assembly or it will be your head. Is that clear?" The general swallowed hard and nodded. "Good. All dismissed." The room emptied, and Veyeris went straight to his office and began typing an encrypted message to Norgite.

Rubicon, Shady Dunes

The senate convened for an emergency session about the Norgonian invasion of Norvia. The previous heated debate on whether advisors should be sent to Norvia was now void. The new debate had to do with what form of reprimand would be appropriate for the antagonizing Norgonians. As senators hurried into their seats, Suffet Barca quickly called to order the room.
“The Norgonians have invaded Norvia. How do you wish to respond?” asked Barca. The senate apparently made their minds on the drive to the building become the response was a deafening roar of cries for war. Barca’s mallet couldn’t drown out the calls for conflict, so he hit a button on the middle podium which set off a small alarm to shock everyone into silence. Norman Barca coughed to clear his throat before resuming his mediation of the senate meeting.
“As you gentlemen probably know, we do not have the resources to wage a full scale war against the Norgonians. Even if we somehow employ all available mercenaries and get full support from the Ilpup Order we cannot stand a chance.”
“Call the Nihilians! Their military can support us! They will be honored to have our officers working with their NCR,” shouted a vocal senator. Most of the senate stood up to agree with the senator. Suffet Barca bowed and left to write the message to Triarch Imotekh.

The tour guide walked along the harbor with her group, pointing out the historic dual harbor of the nation's ancient empire.
"As you can see, the harbor to my left held the merchants and was more open but harder to defend. The one on my right held the warships, like the Ilpup Order's SDS Ilpup, the flagship of the Dunian navy. It is currently not in use, as-"
The tour guide stopped her speech as a horn was sounded and the water behind the Ilpup began to churn. Helicopters began to land on the flight deck, armed for war, and landing craft quickly ferried supplies and marines into the ships amphibious hangar. The tour group began snapping pictures of the warship heading out to join a growing number of Dunian cruisers entering the water. Later that day, a bulletin from the Master of the Ilpup Order proclaimed the fleet was heading out to sea for naval exercises in response to the Norgonian invasion of Norvia.

"So, it appears that The Emperor of Penguoin has sided with the IA" Said President Aun'va to no one in particular "I was afraid of this." He began composing a message to Maximus Brandenburg III.
Code: Select all
To: The Emperor of Penguoin, Maximus Brandenburg III
From: President Sean Aun'va
I am disappointed to see that you chose to join with the Isildur Alliance, however, i cannot blame you for this decision, this being an alliance of dictatorships (with the exception of Montau of course) however, should it come to war, your troops and people will be treated humanely when you surrender. I can promise you that. And don't worry about the two Montau fleets to your south, they are just making sure

President Aun'va sent a message to Admiral Abraxis "Admiral Abraxis, you will taskfleets Alpha and Bravo head to the ocean south of Penguoin to keep an eye on them and Lipitehsys. As for the group of nations between Shady Dunes and Nihilakh, I will send a diplomat to them to convince them to unite, and we will provide our support to them if they side with us. Also, send taskfleet Charlie with the diplomat."

Just as Aun'va was about to go to lunch, a message popped up on his screen. It was a news headline, it read 'War breaks out between Norgite and Norvia'. "I suppose this means we have to help Norgite, very well." He said as he quickly typed up a message.

We have noticed that you have started your war with Norvia, and we will be sending a taskfleet to help along with 10,000 army troops from the Arctic Wolves legion, 1,000 marines, and 10 White Berets.

Outside Vior'la Harbor

Rear Admiral Varro Hale watched from the bridge of the M.S. Zeus as the diplomat's helicopter landed on the deck of the battlecarrier, and the diplomat walked to the bridge to meet with Admiral Hale. He had a look of a psychologist, where you felt that you could tell him anything. And something about the way he carried himself made you want to tell him anything. Admiral Hale and the diplomat exchanged small talk for awhile, while taskfleet Charlie made it's way towards it's destination.

Taskfleet Bravo

The taskfleet had already been set to switch out with taskfleet Delta today, the only thing that changed was the destination. As the sun rose giving off just a slight glimmer of light before disappearing behind the clouds, the engines of the M.S. Leviathan started churning, making the thrusters spin, moving the ship away from the dock. The ship oriented itself towards the exit of the harbor, when the propellers started churning, creating a white froth behind the ship, sending it outside the harbor. The other ships of the fleet soon followed.

Taskfleet Alpha

Admiral Abraxis, after finishing reading the message, he hailed the other captains of the ships "This is your admiral speaking, we have a change of orders, we are to patrol the waters to the south of Penguoin and make sure they don't do anything stupid. You are also under orders not to open fire unless fired upon.

Vior'la 4th legion squad 394 barracks

Lieutenant Anderson walked into his squad's barracks, and the squad stood at attention in front of their bunks, ready for orders. Lieutenant Anderson began with " Squad 394, we will be heading north to help Norgite in their invasion of Norvia, along with taskfleet Echo. So, pack your equipment, we're leaving tomorrow at 1000 hours." Lieutenant Anderson left the barracks as the squad started packing. Private Biggs said to Private Brewer "Should be intresting fighting with Norgonians, i've heard they're tough SoBs." "That they are, they handle the cold even better than we do." Private Brewer replied. At 0900 hours, the squad was loading onto the transport ship that would take them to Norvia. "Busy week, almost half the fleet is gone." Private Karuse noted, seeing all the empty docks. Once all the troops and supplies were loaded onto the transports, taskfleet Echo sailed out of the harbor.

Postby Nihilakh » Wed Feb 25, 2015 7:17 pm

31 miles out of Biuls, a large city in Jupinter near the border of Nihilakh
The troops had gathered quickly from multiple nations. It had been a problem to get the first nation to join, but once Nion had pledged support, other nations had quickly followed suit. Within a month, the armies outside Biuls had grown from 23,000 troops from Jupinter to about 284,000 troops from all of the nations. In addition, huge groups of tanks, helicopters, aircraft, and other vehicles could be seen gathering. They had to rebuild the cities airport to host so many large aircraft. Commercial aircraft where redirected to other nearby airports, which also weren't prepared for so many aircraft. Even Nihilakh's leaders seemed to have not expected the number of troops. Satellites showed a gathering of troops to counter theirs, but it was a fraction of the size. Only about 30,000 troops maybe less, a handful of tanks and vehicles, and only about 50 to 60 fighters with limited other aircraft as well. The generals were divided on how to act. Some wanted to attack while the Nihilakh army was weak, show them they meant business and take back some lost territory. However, more still feared that an unprovoked attack would bring the full Nihilakh force, and maybe even Shady Dunes from the East and Thraka from the North, to bear on the countries where they would be crushed. This division was preventing things from getting done, soldiers were only taking orders from those of their own country, and the alliance was too divided. If they wished to defeat the Nihilakh forces, they would need to work together. The generals needed someone to take charge first, all of the arguing was not going to work. They sat in a huge tent where lights hung from the ceiling and a large table with a map of the area sat. The generals sat in a circle, voting for who would lead this alliance task force. The popular decision would have been to elect General Barend of Cosal. He was older, more experienced, and had defeated the Nihilians over and over again in multiple skirmishes during the wars decades ago. However, he also supported an attack now, and that decreased his popularity. The other major candidate was General Naram. He was the favorite choice who wanted to wait, but many feared he was too cautious, and therefore, not a great choice. The voting was cast after each general made a speech, and a secret ballot was cast. When the votes were tallied, it was a tie. To compromise, both Generals agreed to work together to lead the army. And now they sat in the room discussing tactics. "If we invade now, the enemy will be caught by surprise. We can use our strongest divisions to punch a hole through the Nihilian lines, then have our fastest divisions drive ahead to Gheden and demand that the IA disband, or at least force Nihilakh out, to better balance power in Isildur. Our stronger units will cover the flanks and rear of this fast unit, and we will catch the Nihilians by surprise. But we must act now to prevent them from bringing reinforcements."
"If we invade unprovoked, we will probably lose any international support we have any chance of getting."
"Who cares? If we defeat Nihilakh quickly, we won't need international support, we'll have defeated a huge country and others will fear us. I have fought the Nihilians for longer than you have been a general, and if there is one thing I have learned, it' to attack quickly, stealthily, and when they least expect it." We should invade now...

Damnos FOB, near the border with Jupinter
"Ma'am, reports coming in of movement on the other side." General Artrin, the first and only female general of the Nihilakh armed forces looked up at the screen. It showed satellite images of the base, and their was obvious movement in the pictures taken only about 15 minutes apart. "Has there been a deceleration of war?" Artrin asked, turning to face the colonel whom had reported the movement, "No, ma'am. However, Gheden did order us to-"
"I know my orders!" the General snapped, she had a tendency to have a bad temper, and snap at some of the smallest things. "Of course, ma'am." The general turned back to the screen and continued to talk, "Nonetheless, we need to be on alert. They may end up fighting dishonorably and attack without warning. Put the troops on alert and get ready to move out."
"Yes, ma'am." The colonel walked out and soon the alert siren went off and a large scale of movement was heard as soldiers grabbed weapons, helmets, armor, and gear and moved towards the small bunkers, foxholes, and trenches that they had begun forming. Soon, most were ready to go. Tanks were moved up, LAVs put into cover and used camouflage nets, artillery barrels raised and rocket artillery were loaded. At the Damnos airport, I-26s were prepared to launch, as well as ground attack loaded A-78s and many B-97s as well. They entire area seemed to hold its breath as they waited for either side to move.

Gheden, the Capitol of Nihilakh
"As you can see here, the Norgonian fleet is in the bay near Norvia. Their troops can be seen advancing from the East into Norvia. The Norvian fleet has been defeated and is retreating now. These satelite images were taken 25 minutes ago, and we can see the wrecks of multiple ships on both sides, but there are many more Norgonian ships. Korikkian troops can be seen mobilizing and marching west as we speak. The Norvians are badly outnumbered and are losing ground every day," the man with large glasses and a thin frame used a laser pointer to point out what he was talking about on the large screen where Norgite, Norvia, and a part of Korikkia could be seen. The image zoomed in and out almost continuously as the officials talked. This was the second delegate meeting in a few days, which normally only happened when the nation was at full scale war. "Right. We have new reports every hour or so, but we need to decide how to react now." Delegate Zandrekh, minister of trade and naval power, spoke first, "I recommend, at the very least, trade sanctions, like we had already planned on doing. However, I don't believe we can save Norvia. It's losing ground fast and we would need time to mobilize."
"I agree," military minister Tyrzan, the newest member of the delegation, spoke up. "I also believe that to have Norgite take over the nation without out interference would be a bad idea. At the same time, we have troops right outside our borders. We need to deal with that threat first."
"What's your recommendation, Mr. Orikan?" Ulthran spoke now turning to the foreign ministers, the oldest delegate, and generally considered the most wise. "We need to get something in Norvia. That is inevitable. Maybe delegates to their capital, expand our workforce in the embassy. Gain some support from the people and try to install a more favorable government. We promise them military support, they like us, elect our preferred government, we get a puppet near the Norgite, and then we can fight if necessary. But once we take over and pledge military support, I think Norgite may back down." Murmurs of agreement swept through the room. "However, we must try to retain peace in the region. If Korikkia's forces are allowed to enter Norvian territory, who knows what will stop other nations, big and small, from moving in to take a slice of land for themselves. I recommend we condone Korikkia's actions in showing that Norgite specifically said, and I quote here, 'I urge other nations to stay out of this conflict and not allow it to escalate further.' We should make a speech to condone this action, testing the resolve of this new nation where their own word appears to mean nothing as other nations are joining in this conflict. This will give the IA international support."
"Very well. These actions will be carried out within a few hours."
"Sir," Delegate Obyron, minister of communication and contact, spoke now as he pulled a sheet of paper out from the nearby printer which had just spat a few papers out. "We just received a message from Shady Dunes' senate. They appear to want military action. They're calling for aid from the Nihilian's great military."
"I see. Shady Dunes wants to stop them. Send them a copy of the delegation summary," Ulthran spoke while nodding to the delegate secretary, "and this message," he typed quickly on his computer, and before long, a message printed from nearby printer and it was grabbed by the secretary and tucked into a large envelope.

Our dear ally,
It has come to our attention that you wish to fight the invading Norgonians.  We have our reasons to disagree as stated in the notes that should be along with this message.  However, our delegates will be leaving soon, and with them, our hopes to gain Norvia to our side.  By the time you read this, you will know most of it from the speech we will be giving.  We will use military against Korikkia, if necessary, but will not use military force against Norgite for now, if we can avoid it.  On the other side, you could help us to deal with this small alliance to your North and my East.  After they are dealt with, we will combat the Alliance for Global stability tendency to invade smaller nations.
Yours truly,
Triarch Ulthran

"Continuing on then," Ulthran spoke after the paper was tucked away. Send my regards to the Lehysian leader for joining the IA. His naval bases and ability to use airbases will be helpful if war does break out, but more importantly, it will allow for better trade, and give us scientific research facilities for use." A new message came off the printer. It too, was tucked away in an envelope. Although all these messages were being printed and stored, it was merely so they could keep a record of it. The actual messages were sent electronically. "Califrax has sided with the AGS, no surprises there. They have always liked Korikkia for some reason. Send them a letter urging them to join the IA, but don't expend more resources than we have to."
"Aye, sir," the the Honorable Vargard Obyron began typing again and soon the printer was working. "Finally, Penguoin. This was interesting, we hadn't anticipated him joining us. Especially after Montau joined the AGS. However, they do have some demands."
"Let's hear them." The screen came on and the face of the main Penguoin diplomat came on. He was sitting in his office in the embassy over in Penguoin. "Evening messieurs," he spoke a mix of Penguoin and Nihilian. But his Nihilian was heavily laden with a Penguoin accent. "Mr. Prescox, what news do you have?"
"The Penguoins have some demands if they are to join our alliance," he spoke, his Penguoin accent almost unbearable, "First off, they want the ability to leave the alliance at any time they choose."
"Preposterous," Tyrzan spat, "They could take everything, then run off to the AGS before we can say your welcome."
"Oui, I thought of that too monsieur, so I requested that he sign a paper that would bind him and his country to prevent from sharing alliance secrets. I haven't heard back yet."
"Good work, that's taking the initiative."
"They also seem a bit hesitant to fight Montau, messieurs, the emperor knows their president personally and won't want to see them come to blows."
"Very well. Tell them we will attempt to avoid conflict with Montau if possible."
"Oui, very good, messieurs. Anything else?"
"No, Mr. Prescox, that will be all."
"Very well, I bid you adieu." The screen shut off and Ulthran stood. "I think that's it. I will now close the mee-"
"One moment, sir," Obyron spoke as multiple pages sprang off the printer. Montau has many fleets moving. Two towards Penguoin, one towards Norgite with supposed troops loaded, and one towards-" he paused and swallowed, "us, sir." A gasp escaped the lips of more than one delegate. Ulthran looked around the room, his gaze coming to a rest on Tyrzan. "Bring the troops to a ready status. This may escalate a lot quicker than we like..."

With speeches delivered later in the day, most of the information was known by the public of other nations actions. Other nations also knew of Nihilakh's resolution to avoid conflict. But the biggest part of their speech was condoning the AGS. "You would reccomend not to have other nations join your war? And then allow two of your allies to supply troops? Despicable. We call on all nations of the world to initiate trade sanctions against Norgite and the other nations invading Norvia," Ulthran had said earlier during his speech that was broadcast to multiple nations.

Later that night, two jet aircraft left Gheden airport, headed for the nation to the south of Norvia. They had Nihilian markings, and should be considered neutral. But to send them directly into a warzone would be stupid. They delegates aboard would travel the rest of the way to Norvia by car. They would arrive at the Nihilian embassy, and begin making diplomatic relations increase with the doomed nation.

An alliance between your nations and our own could prove beneficial in the imminent conflict.  We advise that you do not take immediate military action against Nihilakh and wait until we can offer assistance to you forces.  Whether you agree or not, we will offer you weapons and vehicles at 75% their normal price.  War is coming, and you would be advised to wait for its arrival

Port of Coyot, Lupisviri

Port of Coyot, the unofficial capital of Lupisviri, was one of the few bustling cities that could rival some smaller cities of better off nations in its grandeur and capital. The dry docks bustled with activity as the sound of cranes moving heavy objects, steel being weld together, and the occasional dropped wrench filled the air with a bustle only a port could have. Jers Stone-Sword walked along a catwalk as an Ilpup class destroyer was constructed underneath him, for one of the lesser clans under Stone-Sword jurisdiction. As Jers observed with the workers bustling about the foreman of the dry dock jogged up to him.
“Stone-Sword! The Great Clans are having a special convention over the wire, something about a war with some Argonians,” announced the foreman over the sound of a fog horn from a nearby dry dock putting their finished destroyer in the water.
“Argonians?” thought Jers, “Ah, he must mean the Norgonians.” Jers gave the man a smile of a grateful ruler and began walking towards the ladder that led to the floor. Jers then hurried out of the building as the radar was being installed soon. Jers approached a luxury sedan and got in, his driver already aware of the destination.
Jers arrived at the Stone-Sword compound after a two minute drive full of traffic as a new public transportation system was under construction. He hurried into the main room were a secretary awaited his orders as he picked up the phone. A debate was already underway.
“This can’t be good. The fascists have attacked a lesser neighbor! They’re imperialist dogs.” “We need to ramp up military production and take more loans from the Dunians.” “We need to declare our neutrality! We need to stockpile our imports in case a world war breaks out!”
Jers listened well to the ramblings of the Great Clans. He needed a lull in the conversation to put his political machinations in motion.
“Gentlemen, and woman, we’re all upset by this turn of events but do we need to act so rash?” asked a Cliff-Runner.
“This is it!” Jers thought.
“What we need is a kingsmoot,” said Jers loud and firmly. His secretary’s eyes went wide as he spoke. The group call went dead silent. Even the conspiring Cliff-Runners held their tongues in shock. “A kingsmoot? A kingsmoot would mean I can’t individually tax my realms,” everyone thought at once. Jers smiled in spite of his cunning.
“I agree,” said a voice at last, the slight accent betraying the speaker as Jason Everwinter, a clan made famous by their taming of the coldest point in Lupsiviri. Reluctant murmurs of agreement came from the speakers over the phone.
“Tradition and logic dictates this must be held face-to-face. When shall we convene?” asked the Cliff-Runner. “That’s right you fool, run to your Dunian masters and beg for instructions,” thought Jers. The date was decided as three days from now.

Jai-Teh-Shire

The small farms were quiet throughout Jai-Teh-Shire. If one were to visit every home he would find the families glued to their radios or televisions, watching the announcement of the invasion. They were scared, living in the shadow of an ancient empire and living on its former lands. Not long after the sound of gunshots could be heard throughout the woods that occupied the lands between farms. Men began testing their old rifles and shotguns, teaching their next of kin how to handle it. Trucks soon fired up to drive to the supply depots they called towns, buying supplies like emergency rations and ammo. The Grain Nations began making the scary preliminaries for a very unlikely but forever possible invasion. The fertile farmlands and natural resources of their lands were all too tempting as history has proven to them again and again.

Penguoins everywhere woke up to enraging headlines: "2 Montau Fleets Heading Our Way- President Aun'va takes offensive", "Tyrant Aun'va Mocks Our Troops, Calls Them Cowards", "Collapse of Norvia imminent- IA condemns AGS, but refuses to take military action" "War 'unavoidable' says random expert"

Masses of protesters gathered outside the Montau embassy, some burning pictures of president Aun'va, others throwing stale bread and potatoes over the fence. Others held pictures of dead Norvian soldiers with captions reading "Their blood is on your hands".
Meanwhile, fear of a possible Montau invasion was gripping the southern provinces. Gun sales went through the roof and the Military began training citizen militias. Similar events happened near the Califrax border.

Meanwhile the Emperor met with the senate to discuss recent events.
"Economic sanctions? That's all? I say we launch a full scale liberation of Norvia!" screamed one Senator; the senate erupted in roars of approval
The Emperor stood up causing all senators to pay attention. "Brothers, these are strange times. As you know, I received yesterday a message from Pres. Aun'va"
at the mention of Aun'va's letter, the senate erupted with booing and shouting of expletives. The Emperor calmly waited for the senate to calm down again.
"To think that a man I once called friend would disrespect us in such a manner, and then threaten us with attack? Its despicable! But equally despicable is how so many people in this country want to go to war over some stupid note written by some *expletive* *expletive* *expletive* imbecile in Montau wrote. War is a terrible, destructive thing! Many of you here are veterans, do you not remember the horrors, the comrades and friends you lost?" The senate nodded with approval, "We must do our best to maintain peace, especially with nations that are stronger and better equipped than us. Plus, we must focus on our true enemy; Korrikia" The senate murmured in approval. "With Montau we should have no quarrel, but for the other members of the AGS, there will be hell to pay! Their blatant disregard for national sovereignty and the freedoms and rights of their people are disgusting!" the Senate cheered
"Kill the Tyrants!" said one senator, "Slay their unholy filth!" cried another
"While we should try and preserve peace for now, we cannot sit by and do nothing. That is why I have authorized the mobilization of the armed forces in the event that war breaks out. We must also take a strong stance against Montau's aggression in the south sea. Fleet Maud is on its way to intercept the Fascist agitators as we speak, and I have also sent this message to our allies"

We here in Penguoin believe that the islands of Lipitehsys in the western hemisphere are in danger.  The islands directly to the south of us are being patrolled by 2 Montau task fleets, another Island lies in between Montau and Czechostan, and yet another is right off the coast of Norvia, dangerously close to our relentless enemy.  We therefore ask permission to station Penguoin troops on each of the 4 vulnerable islands, say 5,000-10,000 troops each.

Admiral O'Connor stood on the deck of the PMS Liberty, one of Penguoins 3 Aircraft carriers. It was accompanied by the rest of Fleet Maud; 9 Destroyers, 5 Frigates, and 9 submarines concealed underwater. O'Connor took another sip of whiskey before the being approached by his second in command.
"Sir, one of the Montau fleets has been spotted on radar, and will be intercepting them shortly."
"Will we now?" O'Connor said before taking another sip
"Excuse me sir, I don't think you should be drinking before an important operation"
"Important Operation? Lad this is History! And History is rarely made sober!" the Admiral shouted before taking yet another swig.

Fleet Maud stopped in place while one of the task fleets approached. After the fleet had reached a few hundred yards, O'Connor stumbled out of his chair
"I think that's close enough, don't you lads?" to the cheering of his men, "Open a channel to the enem...the opposing fleet"
"Channel open sir"
Admiral O'Connor took the last swig from his bottle before chucking it out into the ocean and picking up the microphone.
oh no thought his second mate
"Here ye, Here ye, Montau betrayers! Ye be intruden' on our waters, that is, waters belonging to members of the Isildur Alliance (that bein' us an the Lipies). We kindly ask you to turn ye fleet round- if ye don't, ye shall not so kindly be fired upon. Admiral O'Connor, signing off"
O'Connor turned off his microphone. "Tactical, are the submarines in position?"
"Yes sir, but we're not sure if they've been detected yet; Montau has the latest in sonar technology. Anyways, their torpedoes are aimed at the Gal'leath carrier's hull and are ready to fire on your command"
"Right at the belly of the beast. Tell the lads to hold their fire; we don't want to do anythin' stupid, we just need to show these here Montau lads we mean business. If the Montau fleet doesn't respond to our hail, try contacting them again, then fire a warning shot. But for now, we wait..."

Knight-Lieutenant Francis and his fellow Thule Crusaders stood up from their final prayers and continued to suit up. "Men, remember your vows, we only come back from this mission 2 ways; victorious or in a coffin." He and 50 of his brother Knights were about to depart on a secret mission to Norvia. It was up to them train and fight alongside the Norvian military, as well as hinder enemy supply lines and slow down the invaders in general. The brotherhood chaplain blessed them one more time as they stepped onto their airplane. Cleverly disguised as a civilian airliner, the plane would fly towards Lipitehsys' western most island, dropping off its human cargo over Norvia along the way.
"In Dei nomine, ad libertatem vindicandi" spoke the chaplain
"Pugnemus pro populo, pro populo moriemur" the Crusaders spoke back in unison. The time for prayers was over, the time for war had come
