Although he doesn't come out with names, the way he words it makes it clear that he's calling several users, myself included, trolls, for offsite actions. The line "It's a shame some of you are on the other side of the world!" also strikes me as threatening us in real life, as otherwise our geographical location wouldn't matter. Basically, this post is bad tempered, in bad taste, and probably violates site rules. He even admits it himself.

I've locked the thread for now. Someone more familiar with the NS Sports scene (meaning probably Arch, who is currently distracted by RL stuffs) will need to look at it to see if it's anything actionable. We take a dim view on people dragging offsite drama on-site - and we can't adjudicate on offsite stuff anyway - so I don't think there's any redtext to hand out. But it's not something we need to give space to on NS either.

I will note however that the responses he received were not helpful, yours included. I gather that there is some degree of ill feeling between this user and other members of the NS Sports community, but this is a black mark on the record of a community which has historically been fairly pleasant and self-moderating.

Well, we really couldn't give him much of a proper answer. From what we know, he suffers from some mental illness, which requires medications and... well, it seems he forgets about them ever so often to the point where any time we say anything, he goes into a state of rage and burst out saying he won't return or something like that. Which most of the times, if not all, is rather silly because he doesn't even have the reason to do that. A person did mention it jokingly today and... well, you can see the results.

Sorry for the disturbance, we just really couldn't do anything to either calm him down from going on a furious rant like that.

The sense of deep regret I am feeling probably couldn't fill the expanses of the universe right now. I'm scared if I got back on IRC, I'd be just repeating the word "Sorry" over and over for a few hours.

I'd just like to apologise for my dickish behaviour, which I now see. I'll be getting onto IRC soon to apologise to everyone on there, I've just had a terrible week, and I don't need or mean to take it out on you guys...

My apologies for my recent unavailability; I'm dealing with some tricky RL issues at present which are taking up most of my time.

I agree with Tsar; I see no reason to take further action in this case.

I would, however, reiterate to New Drakonika that bringing IRC issues into the forums is frowned upon.

I would also reiterate that it's unhelpful to reply to this type of OP. This often exacerbates tensions rather than helping to resolve them. The next time something like this happens, I suggest that the thread should be reported without individuals attempting to engage in further discussion.

For now we can consider this resolved; I do appreciate the apology from New Drakonika.
