Takistan-Chernarussian war (Sign Up, IC, MT, Revival)

OOC: viewtopic.php?ns=1&f=5&t=323568&p=22789938#p22789938

RULES:

You know the drill, no godmodding or controlling other people's units. In regards to the "NPC" nations that are Chernarussia and Takistan, they can used in your posts for the sake of story telling or nation involvement to inflict damage or attack on your own units.

I won't put a cap on maximum number of troops but you will be rejected if you try and bring fifteen super carriers and a million men into it.

Weapons of mass destruction can be used but only with massive justification and after consulting me via the OOC or telegram.

Modern tech should be used however the use of real life prototype weaponry or technology can be used very sparingly.

If you can, use maps drawn up in MS Paint or a similar program. Maps no matter how crude help massively to visualize a message.

SITUATION:

MAP:

The larger nation to the left is Takistan, the small nation to the right is Chernarussia or Chernarus

STORY:

22nd of May, 2014

The dictator of Chernarus runs a horrifically corrupt nation that claims to hold true to communist ideals but simply exploits the planned economy to control the people. The dictator, General Maddok Vylm, suffers from severe paranoia and relies heavily on alcohol to keep his nerves from breaking. For two years Vylm has been slipping into a state of delusional paranoia and with complete authority over the military he issues a terrible command, "The nation of Takistan is using their citizens to infiltrate our glorious nation. All Takistani people are enemies of the state and must be removed from society."

With this command soldiers across the country, fervent in their belief that Takistan was in fact their enemy, dragged families out into the streets. Anyone suspected of Takistani ethnicity was brutally assaulted in the streets, robbed or executed regardless of any real concern to accurately identifying the people. With thousands of ethnic Takistanis being placed in temporary camps the military command suddenly faced the issue of feeding nearly eighteen thousand hungry and angry people with hundreds coming in every day.

25th of May, 2014

General Maddock Vylm oversaw the Independence day marches in the capital city of Novigrad in which thousands of troops and hundreds of vehicles are paraded through the city. A shooter fired up onto the second story building from which Vylm was watching the parade, though Vylm was unharmed a Chernarussian soldier was killed and another wounded. The shooter was shot dead in the street moments later and to Vylm's horror the shooter was identified as an ethnic Takistani. Now with a conviction that all of Takistan was out to destroy Chernarus and overthrow him he ordered the immediate slaughter of the thousands of men, women and children imprisoned in the camps.

30th of May, 2014

When news of genocidal slaughter first reached first world media Vivoe took the issue personally, located just 300 kilometres across the Green Sea Vivoean troops reacted swiftly. Seizing coastal cities via air assault the cold war era military of Chernarussia was quickly pushed back into the Black Mountains.

20th of June, 2014

Now operating a peace-keeping and recuperation force the Vivoean Armed Forces sustain a Senatorial government in Chernarussia much like their own and combat constant insurgent attacks from the northern provinces. As the role of national defence is handed back over to the local populace the Takistani government, a questionably corrupt republic, feels that the people responsible for the war crimes against ethnic Takistanis have not been dealt with and that the Vivoean government is allowing them to go free. While Vylm and his closest advisers were assumed to be killed in the siege of Novigrad their bodies were never actually found, assumed to be destroyed in a bombing strike on the capital building. The Takistani government feel that the insurgents are still be lead by Vylm or they would not still be attacking with such fervor, Vivoe believes that by setting up a strong and supported government they can allow the insurgents, who's identities are not known, to peacefully reintegrate with society and end with a bloodless destruction of the insurgency.

21st of June, 2014

With increasing anger the Takistani government insist that drastic, violent and brutal measures be taken including assaults on the Black Mountains, public hangings and the jailing or execution of every insurgent. Believing this to be fueling the circle of violence for a future conflict Vivoe refuses and ignores further demands by the Takistani government.

22nd of June, 2014, 3:20 AM

With Vivoean military forces being slowly removed from Chernarus and numbers down to only ten thousand in a nation that needed three hundred thousand to take the Takistani army strike with furious speed and violence. Over running every military base from the border to the Primorsk-Belozersk line (see map) in just six hours the Vivoeans and Chernarussians are outnumbers and on the back foot as both Takistani military and insurgents strike at Vivoean-Chernarussian peace keepers. The Takistani military field semi-modern Russian and Chinese weaponry in large numbers, their most feared units being the 2nd Guards Armoured Division fielding T-72BA ERA and T-80U tanks in well trained, well equipped and highly effective units.

22nd of June, 2014, 12:20 PM

By midday all Chernarussian resistance on the east of the Primorsk-Belozersk line (P-B Line) has been routed, destroyed or surrendered. Now the Takistani military fix their sights on the industrial city of Kirovograd and with brilliant understanding of combined arms warfare the assault on the city begins with armour, infantry, helicopters and planes. The small garrison of just eight hundred Vivoean infantry and sixteen hundred Chernarussian infantry face off against nearly twenty two thousand Takistani soldiers.

Diliath, Tarovasol

Emperor Varesios entered his command room. He had gathered a military council, because he had heard about the Takistan-Chernarussian war. "Gentleman, thanks for coming." did he say to the three people he had gathered. "I think you too have heard what is happening in Chernarus, and I think that our precense there would be a good thing. And yes, with that I mean military intervention. It appears to me that diplomacy won't work anymore and military intervention is much more profit to us. I suggest we send a legion, of course with naval support. I was thinking to he 14th.
I have called you, Kallistos and Andronicos because you're going to lead this mission. And you, Dorados are here because you're my highest commander and we need to plan this mission carefully." Then he took a map of the area in concern and pointed at Novigrad. "This city is under siege by our opponents in this war: The Takistani. They siege the city with 22000 men. As you can see it is a big city so that becomes our first goal to protect. It's only protected by 2400 Vivoean and Chernarussian, so we have to enforce them soon. I suggest we split our army in two. One group will directly take position in Novigrad and the other will attack the Takistani in their backs. The group that goes to Novigrad can enter the city by sea because that grounds are not yet blockaded. For the supply of food, medicines and other stuff can we expect help from the Vivoean and Chernarussian, but ,especially at the beginning, will we too have to bring supplies by sea." Then pinted Varesios at Primorsk and said:"The other group will go here. They will, maybe together with Vivoean and Chernarussian help, try to go to Novigrad by land. They will have to travel cose to the sea for food supply. I want to bring as many as possible from the 14th at once to these two places. I will to get contact with the Vivoean and Chernarussian governments for help and supplies. Have you got ay questions?" Andronicos Merellos stepped forward, "Yes, how do we divide the troops?" Varsios answered:"I was thinking to send The 17th imperial guard regiment with their transport ships, 15 warships and doctors, car drivers, etc to Novigrad, under your command, Merellos. The rest of the 14th, The 5th imperial mechanized division, The Golden Ram Regiment and the The 2nd imperial mounted division, will go to Primorsk. They'll be escorted by 10 warships and will be under your command Kallistos. The ten remaining warships will protect the supply lines." "Sounds like a plan" said Merellos and Kallistos nodded toughtfully. "Then prepare the 14th for their journey and i'll wish you good look, you'll sail in three days."

Varesios sent then messages to the Vivoean and Chernarussian governments too tell them from his plans and to ask for help. Three days later left the ships to Novigrad and 5 days later the to Primorsk. Diliath had enteed the war.

The arrival of the Diliathians.

Postby Diliath » Mon Dec 15, 2014 1:51 pm

Novigrad, Chernarus

Under the strict orders of emperor Varesios was determinated that all diliathian tropps that would go to Novigrad would bord at the some moment. This caused problems with the supply lines and transport, but the imperial commands are absolute so it would happen. General Andronicos Merellos stood at the front of one of his dreadnoughts. They had the weather with them, it was foggy. Their presence had to be made clear to the Chernussian so the Takistani would know of their presence anyway. Then he heard:"we're approaching land!" Merellosturned back ad walked to the bridge. They wouldhavea hard job to reach the safety of he port of Novigrad as unharmed as possible. Whilethe dreadnoughts prepared for the attack they would have to endure, formed they a circle around the transport ships. When they firstly shooted the light rockets in the air to show the Chrnarussians that they were aproaching. Heard they commotion on the coast. Shortly after heard he explode the first Takistani bomb in the water. The ships were now sailing as fast as safely possible. Then heard he a giant explosion. One of the rockets had hit a dreadnought and now was the dreadnought burning as hell. Before the diliathian fleet safely reached the harbour had they lost 3 dreadnoughts and 1800 marines and 500 others, two transport ships were hit what costed 1400 men. But now had Merello, together with his other 17 dreadnoughts reached the harbour and they were safe from the Takistni for now. He took contact with the Chernarussian and Vivoein commanders and created a camp in the city center for his troopers. The dreadnoughts were positoned to guard the harbour and the incoming supply ships. He lfted too 2000 infanterists in the harbour quarters. Then did he establish a command post in the city and his soldiers took position in strategic places in the city and they dropped mines and established sniper nests and fortifications, althugh they were hindered by some aggressve Takistani. His men did too give 1000 simple guns to willing volunteers from the inhabitents of the city. And they gave them istructions and a bit of ammonution, although ammonution would prove to be scarce during the siege. Merellos was pleased. They were still outnumbered, but if food and ammonuton would keep coming would they be able to hold it for a while.

Primorsk, Chernarus

It wa a morning and it was raining. Noise of the frontline culd be heard in Primorsk. The people were hidden in their houses and Chernarussian soldiers could be seen in the town. The soldiers were informed of the coming of the diliathian, but it came totally unexpected. 2 km eastward of the city appeard a big dreadnought(warship), a strange flag waved above the ship, and in an hour another 5 had dropped anchor for the coast. in the were the Chernarussians alarmed by fishermen. A groop of 50 soldiers stood ready to welcome the diliathians. After they had talked to a diliathian officer and after they had allowed them to land their soldiers did 5 other dreadnoughts appear together with many transport ships. In a few hours landed more than 25000 thousand diliathians on the Chernarussian soil at Primorsk. They immidiately started tocreate a base camp and supply lines. They were preparing to start their mision. Soon would this army be functionating enough in this land to move westward, to Novigrad.

Novigrad

At 1PM local time the Takistani Armed Forced began the first phase of their attack with little regard of international law or civilian casualties. Major Anastasius Fenz of the Vivoean Territorial Force, commanding officer of the garrison in Novigrad watched the city from the tallest building he could find. It used to be a hotel back when Chernarus had some glamour but now the building was run down and was being used by JTAC to organize the mortar teams. He used binoculars to look out into the hazy distance and saw the masses of tanks and artillery being moved into position for the first assault. The Diliathians had arrived just in time but with heavy losses from Mig-29K fighters using anti-ship missiles, the wrecks could still be seen burning out to see, the smoke rising up nearly a kilometer. Then the first shot was fired, it was distant and low, thudding like he'd been hit in the chest. Then another and another, it was a massive artillery barrage.

A few moments later the shells came raining down, 203mm heavy artillery shells smashed through buildings and gutted them, tearing asunder with ease. The shells tore massive craters into the ground and blew apart buildings without discrimination. Many of the forward most fire bases and firing positions had been hit and completely destroyed. For twenty minutes the bombardment continued until several wings of Su-24M fighter bombers came in under cover of their own SAMs and released their payload as the heavy guns went silent. These bombs were laser guided and had massive effect, as Fenz watched he realized that they were targeting all the tallest buildings in the city. "Get down!" he yelled as the Su-24 came shooting over head, barely a hundred meters above. Out the window he saw another building come crumbling down under the impact several tons of explosives hit them. The bombs smashed through the window and flew past, through a series of plaster walls and out the other side of the building. A second bomb smashed into the side of the building much lower down and detonated, shaking the building and making a sickening sound of twisting metal as the building sank a few inches to one side. A third bomb smashed directly into the level that Fenz was on but didn't explode, instead it lay dormant almost right in front of Fenz.

A second battery of fire opened up, this time with smaller guns and they impacted on the approaches to the city, the shells were white phosphorous and created a huge smoke screen to cover their advance. The tanks started rumbling forwards as Fenz and his people evacuated the building. The attack was coming.

Kirovograd

Takistani forces, a mechanized infantry and an armoured cavalry division, make their way to Kirovograd. Air cover running SEAD missions destroy the small detachment of Chanarussian anti-aircraft weaponry. With the skies clear and Takistani Migs severely outnumbering the Chernarussian air force they had free reign to bombard key defensive positions, choke points and anything that looked like it could harbour a sniper. Other Takistani forces pushed up from further north and cut Kirovograd off from the rest of country, it was now surrounded and under siege.

The majority of Vivoean and Chernarussian forces were moving to Miroslavl'. Miroslavl' and Chernogorsk were the two major military bases for battling the insurgency in the black mountains and contained two large air bases each which could land heavy transports. The Majority of Vivoe's ten thousand soldiers and Chernarus's sixty thousand were based in this region though many of them were still up in the mountains to the north and were locked in combat with the insurgents.

The Vivoean Grand Senate authorized the immediate air campaign against Takistan. Fighters would being combat air patrols over Chernarus (AA is far to heavy over Takistan) in an effort to reduce the capabilities and speed of the enemy advance. The Takistani armed forces were very competent, well trained and were utilizing some of the latest technology. This air campaign would not be like the air war of Iraq in 2003.

Reinforcments would be sent to Chernogorosk in the form of two Cavalry Division but it could take up to a week for them to arrive. In the mean time the allies would have to hold off the onslaught until the full might of their armies cold push back the tide.

Lieutenant Colonel Pick stared at the map of the Takistani offensive. A solid wave of men had crashed his party.

"I guess taking Novigrad is out of the question." he said.

"No, we have the airpower to take at least the city center and capital. The problem is command didn't give us a heavy armor company. All we have is the 21st's light cavalry. Support tanks cant hold cities, but they can hold buildings. Maybe a surgical insertion to take the senate building?" asked LtC. Boyd

"Should we ask for reinforcements?" responded Pick

"We wont get them. Siddamark isn't declaring war, we are here to keep the peace in Chernarus. Sadly, that means we cant bring 6 divisions and 8 Shepherd Carriers to bear. International sentiment tends to frown on that."Shot back Boyd

"Understood Colonel, we'll steam for the bay immediately" said Captain Tell, sitting on the admittedly too opulent bridge of the PRS Order and Might. Carpeted floors, wooden hand rails, padded chairs. It looked more like the lobby of a Siddar City hotel than a Command Deck of one of the largest ships in the Siddamarkian Fleet. Out the widow he could see the flight deck. They had given him a skeleton compliment. Between this vessel and it's three smaller Strike Carriers there were only 60 strike Aircraft, 30 Combat Helicopters, and 25 Transports. Stuffed for full scale war, the Order and Might could hold that much alone, and then some. The flight deck looked depressingly neglected, bereft of aircraft or huge crews.

"Helm, set course of Novigrad, and Ops, order all Strike craft in the fleet prepped for combat. Comms, get me Agent Wells."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Yes, Captain. No, Captain. No, I'm not. Yes, I can. You too, Captain" with that, Agent wells placed the phone back in the pocket of his suit.

"What a fuckface. Sims, prep a chopper and team 3, were going to Novigrad."

Primorsk, imperial base camp two days after arrival

At the first day that the diliathian army had arrived at Primorsk, had Kallistos Talredos, commander of the army went sick, through the cold weather. Due this fact did he forbid the diliathian army to move. This created a strong protection for Primorsk, but in this way would it take weeks before the diliathians could march on Novigrad. When the message of Kallistos sickness reached Varesios, decided the emperor to take action. Because there needed to be a Talredos at the front did he send Eleutherios Talredos, the brother of Kallistos, although he was sixteen was he stronger builded than his brother and willing to take the command. In three days did he reach the base camp and after a day he had taken over the command. Kallistos woul return to Diliath and Eleutherios tok over the command. He talked with all high commanders and then he commanded the army to move on to Novigrad. The 3rd mechanized division broke easely through the front and the diliathian army started to march to Novigrad, leaving Primorsk only defended by the local Chernarussians. After six days delay was the diliathian army finally marching upon Novigrad, willing to spill Takistani blood.

Novigrad

The combined Diliathian, Chernarussian, civil and Vivoein defence force had succesfully prepared the city. Sniper nests, mine fields, barricades, fortified buildings, all were ready to protect Novigrad against a ground force, but without artillery could the defenders do nothing against the shelling of the city, and a charge out of the city would be smashed. And to make matters disaster had the Takistani insalled mortars at the coast to shoot at the supply ships, so only half the sended supplies reached the city. Merellos had commanded the diliathians in the outsirts of the city to dig themselves in and to take positions were they couldn't been hit by the mortar fire. But despite these measures did many defenders still die, and the shortage of food and medicines had become tightening. The only light point remaining was the fact that a takistani ground atack would still be smashed back if it would come, but when the losses continued and food shortage would happen will even that be to strong to resist against for the defenders. Help had to arrive soon or Novigrad would be doomed.

"Ok, here's the deal, we drop in in this unmarked chopper at approximately 0200 hours. We make contact with defense forces in Novigrad and inform them that the fleet is prepping to relieve they siege of the city, at least on the coast. Now, we havent dealt with Diliathians much before, so keep your weapons hot. Eyes up, heads on the swivel. Take us in pilot." with that Agent Wells finished his speech and braced for the low and fast flight in over a small patch of unprotected coast. The helicopter seemed to careen left and right, dodging trees, telephone wires, and some taller buildings. They were making a lot of noise, but if they could get inland at least a mile they should be safe. Mortars were bad at fighting helicopters anyway.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Are those Strike Craft prepped? We nned to clear the mortar fields if we are going to take the harbor" asked Captain Tell.

"Pilots are on standby, we have 3rd Squadron ready for take off on your command. Any further orders sir?" asked a lieutenant on the bridge.

"No, just make sure they know that the emplacements will be well hidden. We will only have some of them pin pointed. Use discretion. When in doubt, fill it with holes" responded Tell.

"Aye aye sir'

Overview

There were currently ten Takistani Divisions on field, two were held in reserve to the north of Novigrad and the west of Kirovograd. Two divisions held Kirovograd and another two Novigrad. Two divisions were currently marching on Miroslavl' from two directions. The last two were targetting Primorsk, one from the west while another cut off the retreat and supply line for the city.

six of the nine thousand Vivoean soldiers in the mountains had been re-tasked and were now moving from Chernogorsk to the now threatened city of Miroslavl'. If Miroslavl' was lost then there would be no hope to reinforce Primorsk or Kirovograd.

Belozersk

The Takistani 18th Infantry Regiment stormed the agricultural city of Belozersk with extreme efficiency. Three and a half thousand Takistani attackers completely destroyed the three hundred Chernarussian defenders with relative ease despite a determined and final defence. While the Chernarussian military put up an honourable defence and fought to the last it was not enough to halt the advance and only delayed the Takistani military two hours.

With the vacuum of allied troops on the west of the Burnaya river Takistani generals decided to push forwards and take us much land as possible, by nightfall their engineers were beginning the task of bridging the river for the heavy vehicles after Vivoean units had blown the bridges.

Kirovograd

Kirovograd was now completely encircled by Takistani forces, two divisions currently held the city in a choke hold and they were squeezing tighter with every hour. Artillery began raining down onto the city with deadly precision, the 203mm guns could destroy a skyscraper with a single shell and there were forty of these guns firing on the city.

Primorsk

The city of Primorsk was being cut off, during the night tank columns were heard moving to the west, cutting off the city's retreat and supply line. It would be several hours until this was successfully completed but if no one stopped them it would spell disaster for the city that was working as a forward base for the allied forces.

Novigrad

Novigrad was in a dire situation, while the soldiers themselves were in good shape they were losing much of the city to bombardment from 203mm, 155mm and 82mm shells along with heavy airstrikes. The defenders were prepared for an attack as best they could but finally it came, during the middle of the night. Smoke shells laid down a screen as the Takistani military advanced with helictoper gunships, tanks, APCs, infantry and artillery. The goal here was not to take the city in one blow, that would be been impossible, instead they just needed a foothold in the city with which they could pump troops into the city. The shells finally stopped landing and infantry stormed the outer sections of the city and despite heavy return fire from the defenders there was little they could do in the face of heavily armoured tanks, choppers and fire support.

Whenever a defensive position opened fire on the Takistani infantry it would quickly be silenced by rockets, artillery shells, bombs, ATGMs, tank guns, auto-cannons or combined machine gun fire. There was very little the defenders on the outer parts of the city could do. Closer in where the fighting was room to room the odds evened up, the two armies were too close to call in fire support and tanks were vulnerable targets in the close streets.

The first 10% of the city was now in Takistani hands within a single hour thanks to overwhelming fire. Both the attackers and defenders had suffered similar casualties but the defenders had been pushed back.

Novigrad

As the Takistani had conquered already parts of Novigrad had general Merellos to do something unexpected. He gathered 1000 diliathian soldiers and 500 Chernarussian and Vivoein soldiers and attacked the Takistani foothold. The takistani were suprised by this big assault and they were pushed back immidiately. In an hour died hundreds of the Takistani, but then their counter-attack came. Making use of their superior numbers did they push back the defenders of the city. After a few ours of fierce fighting had the Takistani reconquered their whole foothold. Merellos was hit in the shoulder and only 300 of the attacking soldiers were remaining. The Takistani attack continued and they expanded their foothold, but under a heavy price. Merellos commanded that every street had to be a battlefield. Every stret costed the Takistani losses. Although they killed many defenders and conquered another 5% of Novigrad had they lost many. Tanks that rode into mine fields. Streets full of defendrs with their automatic guns. Snipers who were positioned at the higher buildings. But despite all this succesful measures were the Taistani stil slowly conquering street after street and Merellos understanded that they would been defeated when help wouldn't come. And the defending soldiers knew this too. Merellos had already executed 20 of his soldiers who wanted to flee, twenty good legionaries. That created more reason to be happy with news of help from Siddamark and of the diliathian reinforcements who finally started to march up.

Primorsk
After breaking to the front had the diliathian army in Primorsk not have any problems with the Takistani. They, logicaly, Expected the diliathians to guard Primorsk. Thismade their march to Novigrad go faster and as long as the Takistani wouldn't do anything to ty to stop the would the army reach the river delta at Novigrad in a day. Seeing the well going travel to Novigrad, was Eleutherios having a plan to save Primorsk as well. The Takistani, who were hearing of the march of the diliathians to Novigrad, had set eyes on the now almost unprotected city of Primorsk. While marching on that city from the east were they suddenly unpleasantly surprised by Eleutherios and his cavalry division. Who fast and silently rode eastwards. The Takistani weren't suspecting almost none oppossement and certainly no attack on themselves. This way could Eleutherios attack their supply lines and flanks with his 5000 men. When the Takistani where preparing to attack the riders saw Eleutherios he had to retreat, so he commanded his mounted gunners to turn and they swiftly retreated and escaped from the Takistani. Then they rode back to the diliathian army what was still marching at Novigrad. The Takistani army was now more careful and through of hat slower. This would grant time for the Chernarussians and their allies to protect Primorsk. And Eleutherios had shown his tactical mind.

Washingtonia, D.C. United States of Auxatia - 21:00

"Mr President, we've received word of a situation in the Green Sea region. Takistan is under attack by Chernarussian forces. We've been called upon to lead a military intervention to defend Takistan, and launch a forward invasion into Chernarus, and engineer regime change. As you may know, major oil pipelines run from Takistan to the Green Sea, under the control of Auxatian companies, which we subsequently trade with, and we can't afford to lose this share of the global reserves. Our embassy in the Takistani capital may not be able to sufficiently hold out in this situation, without a sufficient element of security. What I am calling for here are boots on the ground, a substantial naval presence, and airstrikes and airdrops around the clock. Shock and awe, as our planners call it."

"The sovereignty of Takistan, and the guarantee of the safety of Auxatian people and interests in the country are our top priority. I'll address congress tomorrow in an emergency sitting, and we'll put any armed response to a vote. It's the will of the people that is important. This crisis should likely sway public opinion in support of such an effort." President Straughan replied.

"Chairman, the situation in Chernarus is grave, we must support the installed government or our work over the past year will be for nothing. The international community is watching this with interest, our nation is yet to lose militarily in an intervention, do not make this a loss when the world is looking at us."
"Senator sit down, your point has been taken." the chairman said.
"Two cavalry divisions is not enough to turn back the tide, we must have a full mobilization of the Territorial and Air Forces." another senator said to the cheering support of 80% of the senate.
"We'll take it to a vote, the Grand Senate will vote on the following: Full scale mobilization of standing armed forces with the intent to secure Chernarussia's independence against Takistani aggression."
The vote passed with a 90% yes vote, while 8% abstained.

Squadron Leader Adam Thest climbed into his AD113 stealth fighter and taxied it onto the runway with his flight of another AD113 and two AD111 stealth fighters. These aircraft were cutting edge with peripheral radars, 3D IRST, high speed data links, GPS, touch screen interface, look down shoot down abilities, helmet mounted lock-on and the ability to highlight radar contacts and friendly aircraft on the helmet visor HUD automatically with coloured squares. This technology put the aircraft far ahead of even the Takistani Mig-29 which was a generation 4++ aircraft. This was the first combat flight against Takistan and Thest was determined that it be a successful one. 9

The flight of four stealth fighters flew high above the clouds in an effort to get as far away from unguided AAA and infrared missiles as possible. Stealth was an interesting thing, large ground based radars could detect a stealth aircraft from up to a hundred kilometers away now that so much effort had been put into countering stealth technology. Fighters however could only detect a stealth aircraft at ranges as little as 25 kilometers even in the most ideal circumstances. The goal here was to blow open a hole through to Novigrad to relieve the siege. To do this there was an entire mechanized division between Primorsk and Novigrad. These first airstrikes would be dropping 1000kg bombs onto the columns of Takistani vehicles. Fifteen minutes earlier a SEAD mission had moved in to destroy enemy radars to soften up the AA in the area and the strike had caught the Takistani division by surprise.

The flight came in hard and fast, dropping 1000kg bombs onto the roads which detonated, flipping vehicles or simply tearing them apart with the sheer force of the weapon. An electronic clicking sounded through Thest's cockpit and he glanced at his radar warning receiver, a symbol had appeared "M29".

"Flight, we have Mig-29s on the RWR, prepare for contact." he switched to a different channel, "Foresight this is Enfield 1-1, requesting Bogey Dope."
"Roger Enfield, pop-up group 270 for 80, flight of four Mig-29s hot."
"Roger Foresight." he said and switched back to the flight coms, "Four Mig-29s coming towards us, they're 80 kilometers out on heading 270, prepare to engage."

The electronic clicking soon switched to a solid tone, the migs had gotten their radar lock, Thest was hoping they could get closer before needing to turn radar on but this would have to be it. "Turn you music on." he said and the flight switched the ECM packages on, filling the air with jamming signals, "Flight, engage bandits, I repeat, you are clear to engage."

Thest locked up the lead Mig-29 on his radar, they were just under 25 kilometers away now and closing fast. "Fox Three." he said holding down the fire button and letting loose with a missile. He got a flashing symbol on the RWR and an alarm, "Going defensive!" he pulled hard on the stick, banked left and pulled. He hit the countermeasures and it send flares and chaff out the back as a missile screamed past just twenty meters away. He switched the missile to a close range infrared guided and banked back around, pumping out more flares as he went. A mig 29 screamed past as the two wings of fighters merged and one of the Migs exploded in a ball of flames leaving a trail of smoke as it fell. "Break, break! Two, you've got a bandit on your tail, break left!" he heard the coms go crazy as the dogfight started.

He pulled and leveled with a Mig, letting loose with an IR missile that flew up the white hot tail pip of the Mig, blowing it to pieces in a shower of shrapnel. Thest heard the roaring of a Gatling gun off to his left and saw on of his fighters laying into the Mig with cannon, the wing tore off and the enemy fighter plummeted to the ground. "Shit, three is hit, he's smoking bad. Do you copy three?" the reply was static only, "Three's coms are down, he needs to bug out now, cover him." Thest said as he tried to pull his nose in front of another mig. Suddenly a missile lanced out from a different direction and smashed through the Mig, exploding and tearing it into a thousand different pieces. An AD111 flew past from the opposite direction, the kill belonged to him. "Lead, we've got one running, he's already eight clicks out, burning hard."
"Take him out."
"Roger." the AD111 banked and turned after the Mig, letting loose with an active guided missile which smashed into the rear of the running Mig.

The flight returned to friendly space without incident, landing in Chernogorsk with the stricken fighter since Vivoean territory was too far away.

"Members of Congress, Speaker of the House, Vice President Edwards, I address you today, following the inaction of the international community to protect a sovereign state that is openly under direct military threat by an outlaw regime, a regime that cannot stand our love for freedom, justice and peace in the international community. The regime in Chernarus has, for too long, threatened Takistan with utility of violence and genocide. This constitutes a grave and imminent danger not only to the people of Takistan, but to the wider international community. We must not tolerate this act of belligerency and warmongering. It is not acceptable now, nor will it ever be, in the 21st century.

This regime has demonstrated its ability to only understand the use of aggressive tactics and bellicose threats against its neighbours. Accordingly, we, the United States, must respond in kind, to best ensure the continued safety of Takistan that has since been removed by this oligarchy of evil that reigns currently in a repressive, belligerent and intolerant Chernarussian society. I urge you to consider these reasons prior to this upcoming vote, which, if successful, will allow our men and women, of the Auxatian military to serve their purpose, to defend liberty and freedom, not only at home, but abroad. Our prayers and hopes, of course are with the people of Takistan during this difficult time. Thank you, and may God bless the United States of Auxatia."

In breaking news, the U.S. House of Representatives vote to authorise the use of military force in Chernarus has passed this evening, by a landslide 394 for, and 41 against.

Following this, the United States military has been put at DEFCON 4.

Between Primorsk and Novigrad.

Eleutherios and his cavalry had joined up with the rest of the army again. They were close to Novigrad. Only one obstacle had to be removed, but unfortunately it was a big one. 20000 well trained, well equipped Takistani were standing between the diliathians and the Takistani army that was sieging Novigrad. He sended at first his long range rocket throwers forward to provoke the Takistani army to attack. The Takistani general saw the goal of this manoevre but couldn't do anything than attack. While leaving their fortifications to march up did they meet the 4500 light cavalrymen. Still under rocketfire and in a bloody battle with the light cavalrydid the Takistani still march up against the Diliathians. Then did Eleutherios throw the rest of the mechanized division in the fight. The tanks and armoured cars charged into the Takistani, while the anti-tank missiles were attacking every Takistani heavy battle equipment. After a long battle that went on for hours were the Takistani retreated. The Takistani general sended 1000 of his brave men forward, so he and his other remaining 6000 could retreat to the army that sieged Novigrad. The Diliathians had lost 10 rocket throwers, 2 anti-tank missiles, 3000 light cavalrymen and their equipment and 4000 men of the mechanized division including their equipment. Now was the way free to march on Novigrad.

Diliath, Tarovasol, The imperial palace.

"Are you sure?" asked Varesios "Yes your majesty, The Takistani are getting allies internationally." said Dorados. "And they were already winning."
Varesios sighed "Then is it time to send in more. Prepare two legions to send to Miroslavl', send to another ten dreadnoughts to guard the suply lines too." "Do they this time have to land all at once again, your majesty?" asked Dorados "no, they will need a bit of rest and organizaton, because they'll be dead in a day. The Vivoein and Chernarussian soldiers will protect MIroslavl' for a while. This will give us the time to let our troopers arrived their well-supplied and in good condition. The first soldiers will have to go there in two days. From that moment will I have all 100000 on their way in a week. You can leave now." Dorados left the room, to gather another hunded thousand soldiers to send to Chernarus.

BREAKING NEWS

Postby Auxatia » Fri Dec 19, 2014 8:40 pm

This morning comes news of U.S. Airstrikes on Novigrad, the capital of Chernarus, following the ongoing military conflict in the Green Sea Region.

The U.S.S. John C. Stennis carrier strike group, carrying an air wing of 40 F/A-18F Super Hornets, and 50 A-20 Razorback combat stealth & strike aircraft is stationed in the Green Sea, following the successful vote to authorise Auxatian military action overnight. A total of 48 airstrikes have hit various military targets in Novigrad, including air defence sites, and government buildings.

The Auxatian 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, comprised of the 1st battalion of 6th United States Marines (800 men), 263rd Medium tilt rotor Squadron (V-22 Ospreys), and 22nd Combat Logistics Battalion have launched a forward amphibious invasion of Chernarus' lower east coastline, taking the island of Lyutyi at dawn.

Not long afterwards, the 7th US Army's 1st Armoured division (M1 Abrams Tanks), 2nd Stryker Cavalry Division and 1st infantry division reinforced the Marine Corps presence, pushing into the outskirts of the city, meeting some resistance from Chernarussian infantry and armoured units in the city.

B1 & B52 long range bombers, taking off from bases in the United States, have carried out carpet bombing of Chernogorsk as well as Novigrad.

Roughly half the city is believed to have fallen to United States forces.

USS Arleigh Burke destroyer, somewhere in the Green Sea:

"Sir, we have multiple unidentified vessels, bogies, closing in, about 200 miles and incoming. Unknown identity, but if they close in on us, what then?"

"Lieutenant, I know very clearly what we are to do if a threat comes our way. We are collectively a floating target without all the advanced capabilities we possess. Luckily we can see these guys from a distance. I don't have a good feeling they're any of ours. If they come within 100 miles, then I'll order a response of some kind. For now, keep a close eye on them, and let me know if anything new occurs."

Outskirts of unknown Chernarussian village, 2 hours earlier:

"Fuck. They're wondering where the shot came from. Men, we've gotta move. We'll regroup with at secondary exfil point Charlie."

The 6 man team, named 'Razor', had been assigned with carrying out the assassination of a high ranking enemy coalition officer. The flag that flew from his transport was red and black, with an unknown symbol. What was immediately obvious was that this was the enemy - another nation's military, sent in to help the Chernarussian Army prop up the quickly disintegrating and centralised communist regime.

"Command, Razor 0-1 is proceeding on foot to secondary exfil point Charlie. We've gotta throw a paper trail, and it has to be believable to these bastards."

"Razor 0-1, understood proceeding to exfil point Charlie. Preparing for dustoff procedure at this time. Friendly helos will meet you at 18:27 hours. You have less than 3 hours to make it, or you're left behind."

"Roger, Razor 0-1."

"They're trying to close in on our right flank! Move it, move it!"

The assault on the city had gone on long through the night. 2 marines had been killed in the fighting, which had only served to further motivate their fellow marine infantrymen to make sure that the effort to take the city was not in vain. The first casualties in any military conflict Auxatia had been involved in for over a year.

M1 Abrams tanks had largely taken out some measurable resistance, although this hadn't been easy. US Army infantry and US Marines had taken several key gains overnight. More than half of Novigrad had fallen, although the positioning of Chernarussian infantry created a volatile and testing situation for the bitter house to house fighting that had ensued following the first foothold gained by the Auxatians. A clear dividing front had been created in the city, reminiscent of the end of the Second World War.

Airstrikes and ship-launched cruise missiles had battered the Eastern and Northern parts of the city, including residential areas. Most civilians were trying to flee, but were often caught in the crossfire between United States forces and the Chernarussian Army. This was daunting to a lot of the soldiers and marines, given that for some, this was the first experience of combat. For their more experienced colleagues, this was a renewed sight, after the quagmire of Operation Great Bear Lake Freedom.

The international airport had also fallen to US armoured units, and US Marines, accompanied by Stryker Armoured Personnel Carriers.

The coast of Takistan

The atmosphere was one of both excitement and nervousness as thousands of Rostogovian Peoples Marines deployed on Takistani soil for the first time. The mass deployment was conducted via a large fleet of transport ships, accompanied by a large escort force. The landing spot was an accommodating patch of coastline several hundred miles northeast of the capitol, near the border. Thanks to the stalwart actions of the Takistani military the beach was sufficiently secured, allowing the expeditionary force to deploy with ease. The beach was cluttered with amphibious landing craft, as supplies were unloaded. Helicopters darted to and fro, monitoring the unloading process. The beach was cluttered with amphibious landing craft, as supplies were unloaded. Helicopters darted to and fro, monitoring the unloading process. Engineers had begun to construct rudimentary fortifications, as the expeditionary force worked to establish an operational headquarters. Grand Admiral Ivan Strezlocov gazed out from the bow of the R.S.S Slava, puffing his cigar. The Slava was a 100,000 ton Lenin class super carrier, the pride of the Red Navy. This hulking leviathan measured a total of 1,500 feet from aft to stern, it's very presence sent a strong and imposing message. The Slava was to serve as a launching point for sorties into Chernarussian territory, and functioned as the eyes and ears of the expeditionary force. Throughout his illustrious career Admiral Strezlocov had been deployed to countless locations throughout the world, however he had a distinct disliking for Takistan. No matter what he did he could never escape the arid Takistani air, and often found himself longing for the frigid climate of his homeland. "Godforsaken hellhole!" he muttered under his breath, Nevertheless he had a task to preform, and he intended to do just that. Just then the blare of sirens rang throughout the ship, as hundreds of crewmen scurried about. The admiral was approached by a lean faced lieutenant, who grabbed his arm and ushered him into the command room. "Sir, your going to want to see this." On the radar screen was a group of 25 or so small dots, converging towards the ship. "Your Admiralty, our sensors have detected a group of 50 or so ASMs within the Slava's airspace. We have about 3 minuets to react." The lieutenant continued, his face full of dread. "WHAT THE HELL!!! Our sensors should have picked them up hours ago, how did they bypass our defenses." The admiral was thoroughly outraged, surely this must be some sort of mistake. "I have no idea sir" The officer replied, "I've never seen anything like this." The Admirals face turned to utter horror, as he finally perceived the severity of the situation. "The best we can do is to try and knock out as any as we can." the Admiral said, "I want counter missile in the air, NOW" Immediately the officers set to work, barking commands and programming in the missiles coordinates. "Sir, we have counter missiles in the air." the Lieutenant said, with a hurried salute. "Very well, lets hope this works." Within minuets the roar of artillery could be heard, as Vivonian ASMs collided with Rostogovian counter-missiles. Just then the floor jolted and shook, as an ASM hit it's mark. Flames spouted from the rear flight deck, as workmen hurried to put out the fire. The haunting shrieks of wounded sailors could be heard throughout the ship. After a few minuets the barrage ceased, and Admiral Strezlocov ventured out to survey the damage. The rear flight deck had sustained minor damage, and 5 or 6 of the fighters it accommodated had been destroyed. About eight servicemen had been killed, and 25 more were wounded. Breathing out a sigh of relief, the Admiral wiped his brow. "Well," he muttered, "It could have been a lot worse."
The skies over the Chenarussian countryside, near Primorsk.

Image

It was 5 in the evening, as the sun set above Chenarus. Once scenic, virgin countryside, the land had been reduced to a bleak war zone. Armored vehicles dotted the land, and the omnipresent sound of artillery could be heard for miles. Cruising high above the land, Lieutenant Victor Kuchilesko surveyed the wartorn land from the cockpit of his Z18S stealth bomber. Behind him flew a squad of 5 other stealth bombers, as well as an escort of 10 Yk50 fighter aircraft. Victors squad had been selected to fly the first of what would be a long series of sorties over Chenarussian airspace, targeting roads, power stations, and other such infrastructural assets. Their first target was a large highway that ran between Primorsk and Kirovograd, used to transport vital supplies between the two cities. Reminding himself of the task at hand, Victor reached for his intercom. "This is Grizzly bear 1, all units are in in position." he said, nervously awaiting a response. "Very well, you may proceed." responded a calm female voice. Readying himself, he reached for the intercom once more. "We have the go ahead, all units engage." For a split second, a deadly calm filed the air. Moments later a deafening roar could be heard, as the ground below burst with flame. Saying a quick prayer, Victor locked in his target and dutifully launched his payload. He watched as a torrent of missiles hurtled to the ground, exploding on impact. After several moments the squad had emptied their payload. Victor gazed down at the blasted ground, observing the destruction they had wrought. Just then his thoughts were interrupted by a deafening blast, as one of his fellow pilots Z18s burst into flames. Glancing around, Victor noticed a squad of five or so fighters gaining on his position. Examining his assailants, he quickly identified their livery as that of the Chenarussian military. "Goddammit, they've found us.!" he muttered angrily. Reacting quickly, Victor spun his plane around, dodging a deadly torrent of AA fire. Adrenaline coursed furiously through his veins, this was his first true dogfight. Deftly maneuvering his aircraft, Victor assailed the enemy combatant with a volley of lead from his 30mm auto cannon. watching as the fighter hurtled to the ground. Bullets ripped through the air as his squad proceeded to engage the enemy interception force, bringing down several more enemy aircraft. Just then a torrent of AA fire hit Victors aircraft, ripping a hole in the fuselage. Fear coursing through his veins, victor managed to regain control of his plain. "I'm OK!" he yelled over his intercom. Pressing the offensive, he unloaded his auto cannon at the nearest enemy combatant. His squad followed, routing the enemy force. Realizing their defeat, the Chenarussian squad absconded into the night sky. A collective sigh of relief could be heard over the intercom, as the last of the Chenarussian aircraft flew out of sight. "Jesus fuckin' christ!" Victor muttered, "I almost just died." He then grabbed his intercom once more. "This is Grizzly bear 1, all units return to base."

Rostogovian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Greetings,
The Peoples Empire of Rostogovia thoroughly condemns the Free Land of Vivoe for its atrocities against The Republic of Takistan, and it's people. The Free Land of Vivoe has publicly aided the Chenarussian insurgency on multiple occasions, and violated the sovereignty of the Republic of Takistan. The Free Land of Vivoe has also engaged in acts of aggression against the Peoples Empire, as shown in their unprovoked assault on the R.S.S Slava. As of now, there exists a state of unconditional war between the Peoples Empire of Rostogovia and The Free Land of Vivoe. All Vivonian assets within Rostogovia have been seized, and all diplomatic connections are hereby permanently severed. Be assured that the Peoples Empire will not relent, you have brought this upon yourselves.

Regards,
Minister of War Leon Dragunov

(Forward Note: The people and culture of Vivoe is that they are fanatical (like jihadists are fanatical) about freedom and liberty, which is why the senate is a lottery system rather than a career politician system. Vivoean's believe in as much freedom as is physically possible through whatever means necessary)

Vivoean Grand Senate

"This is outrageous!" a senator said to the cheers of about half the table, "The Vivoean people will not take this insult!"
"Senator sit down, this is a conference not a riot." the chairman said as the senator returned to his seat.
"This is a grevious insult! We should rescue them immediately, mobilize Special Operations Group." the banter went back and forth until the chairman spoke up again.
"Word has hit the streets and there are protests demanding immediate action on Chernarus. Ten thousand people in Strassis last time I checked. We must act now. I propose the following vote: The Free Land of Vivoe will commence complete mobilization of all military, industrial and civil capabilities for the sake of the war effort both at home and in support of the Free Chernarussian Government."

The vote passed with a 96% yes vote while 4% abstained.

Vivoean Military Command

Supreme Commander Brigadier Kennedy Falk of the Vivoean Armed Forces walked into his war room, around him a dozen or so high ranking officers from the Air Force, Territorial Force, Coastal Defence Force and Navy were sitting. "Gentlemen, as you know the Grand Senate has authorized full scale mobilization of the Vivoean Armed Forces, this includes reserves, conscription, recruitment of volounteers and full military production. Currently we have just under ten thousand Vivoean soldiers in Miroslavl' while our allies from Diliath are pushing out of Primorsk to relieve the siege in Novigrad. General Hansen, please go on with your explanation of the situation from the Takistani point of view."
"Of course Sir." he said pulling out a manilla folder full of documents, "As it stands the Takistani forces have 10 divisions and three air wings currently inside Chernarussian borders. We have barely half a division, the Chernarussian military has four and a half and Diliath stands with several legions. We are currently outnumbered roughly two to one." the general said.
"With fullscale mobilization we would be bringing nearly three hundred divisions over the next three months, however we don't have three months. Currently we have have 8 divisions that are cycled into the rapid deployment position with the possibility of nearly double that in the coming weeks. I propose the landing on all eight divisions in Chernaruss at Chernogorsk, the eastern coast at South Zagoria and the peninsula to the east of Miroslavl'." Kennedy Falk said and there was a nod of agreement through the war room, "Air Commander Harrison, could you please explain the situation in regarding your expertise." Falk said and a slim woman in crips uniform stood up at the table.
"The green sea is currently heavily contested both in terms of navy and air space. As we speak Vivoean air crews are forcing a passage through from Vivoe into Chernogorsk with Combat Air Patrols and fighter sweeps. After the latest sorty against enemy shipping we made our presence clear, currently there are no enemy ships east of Novigrad which leaves us clear to ship troops in with a flight path that arcs wide to the east and avoids enemy ships and aircraft. Under cover of fighters, AWAC and electronic warfare support it will be easy to slip by in the east, away from enemy ships."

The planning went on for hours longer but for the most part it had been set. Aircraft and ships would lift several divisions from Vivoe across the green sea to Chernogorsk, east of Miroslavl' and the far eastern coast via an air corridor that would be heavily protected by surface ships, ASM strike aircraft, CAP, fighter sweeps, AWACs and tankers. The first landing would lift roughly one divison in just a few hours. These first divisions to land would be airborne and marine divisions made up of commando regiments, the elite of the Vivoean armed forces. It was time to strike back and turn back the tide.

Skies over the Green Sea

The stealth fighters flew high above the ocean in several wings, there were nearly fourty five fighter aircraft scattered across two hundred kilometers all escorting twenty five super heavy transport aircraft. There were two air corridors that made up this mission, the first was a direction line from Chernogorsk down to the Vivoean mainland directly south, this acted as a buffer line. Any enemy aircraft trying to hit the transports would first go through this buffer of CAP flights. Since it's creation at sun set the Takistani air force had tried to incur on it three times, each time their Migs had gone down in a ball of flames with only minimal losses of a few AD113 and AD111 Vivoean fighters. Their presence was supposed to be known and AWACs kept them aware of any incomming flights.

Nearly two hundred kilometers to the east the transports and their escorts, AWACs and tankers were flyig in a wide arc, away from Novigrad and occupied territory to land on the eastern coast. This secondary line had the support of surface ships and their AA systems so that even if the fighters were destroyed the transports would still be covered. That wasn't to say that the line was impervious to enemy attacks but the attacker would be at an extreme disadvantage.

Several Hours Later

By early the next morning Two Airborne Divisions had landed with their air-mobile vehicles, the heavy vehicles were only just arriving by ship, the transports ships were forced to take the same extreme passage away from enemy forces. With just over fourty thousand soldiers stationed on the eastern coast and into Chernogorsk they began the movement forwards to Moroslavl' where the first major open land battle would take place. The local Chernarussian forces were nearly broken at the sight of half their country being invaded by four seperate powers but the sight of Vivoean aircraft flying over head and columns of tanks, APCs, SPGs, AA and supplies brought back their moral which was nearly crushed.

Two Vivoean Airborne Divisons, the 17th and 89th were marching with the battle worn 5th Mechanized Division of the Chernarussian Army. Together they numbered near fifty thousand and the force stretched from the Black Mountains in the north to the coast in the south. Two Centuries ago Fifty thousand men could make battle in an area the size of a city block but those tactics had come and gone, now any group of more than fifty men in the area of a city block was a perfect target for an airstrike or artillery.

Battlespace Over View

Vivoean command had assumed the enemy had seen their transports land though there was a slim possibility that they hadn't.If the enemy had detected the transports it was highly unlikely they realized just how many forces had been landed, stealth design helped mask their radar reflection but was by no means perfect and a determined radar operator could probably pick the aircraft apart from the background noise.

No one quite knew how well the OPFOR were working together but while Takistan agreed to the international support it was not because they actually liked any of them. Instead it was out of fear that the far larger Vivoean military would simply crush their pushes into Chernarus. Takistan was a corrupt thoecratic republic at best and a dictatorship at worst. The ruling party view non-muslim nations with distrust but invite their military to help with the war anyway knowing that if they don't, they will be crushed.

It was highly unlikely that Takistan had given over the IFF codes and secret radio codes and frequencies of the Takistani military to the foreigners and while this preserved their own defences it limited co-operative operations between forces, especially in terms of Fire Missions, air support and large scale movements.

[b]Summary{/b]

Vivoe goes to full scale mobilization of military and civil population for the purpose of war in Chernarus.
Operation for the landing of forces in Chernarus at threat of enemy forces.
Operation is carried through with some resistance from Takistan, 8 Takistan and 3 Vivoean fighters are lost.
Two Divisions land on the Eastern Coast and begin linking up with Chernarussian Army.
OPFOR is likely to know that Vivoe landed troops but unlikely to know how many.

(After Note: I'm going a bit quickly with the deployment of these troops but I really need to catch up after the other two Takistani supporters both deployed quite quickly. I realize this leaves an issue with Taki supporters not being able to attack my forces while in transit but if you really want to then you can post about attacking it anyway and I'll respond in kind.)

USS Arleigh Burke Destroyer, somewhere in the Green Sea:

"Sir, the bogies have turned around, and we are safe to continue sorties."

"Good. Let me know if anything changes. Our boys on the ground have taken a little more than half of Novigrad, but there's some pockets of resistance making it hard for them to advance. Our sorties are softening up the Chernarussian positions, but the USS George H.W. Bush carrier strike group are entering the theatre of operations ETA 19:00 hours. They're going to help us carry out more sorties, to ultimately break the artillery defences and armoured columns closing off the northern part of the city. The marines will push north in an all out assault, breaking down the defensive positions as best possible, with air and artillery strikes by the clock."

"Captain, we've got an incoming transmission from Washingtonia, Pentagon's on the line."

"Put them through."

"Captain Chappell, we are advising that ALL United States military forces are now at DEFCON 3 alert status across the world."

"Understood, we'll be ready for anything. We've nearly routed these red bastards, and our artillery units are expected to commence a salvo at approximately 17:00 hours, ahead of the H.W. arriving. We're expecting to have the entire city under control sometime soon. We have possible word of other combatants trying to help the Chernarussians, possibly Vivoeians. We'll keep you updated. For now, we have total air superiority over Novigrad, whilst our sorties over Chernogorsk alongside the USAF have encountered some resistance. 1 aircraft reported minor damage to a bomb bay door, but otherwise, a stable situation."
