The Gender Expression Thread!

So, NSG, let's talk about gender expression.

A perennial topic in queer studies, gender expression for the uninitiated refers to the manner in which a person chooses to define and present themself within the context of their chosen gender. Here is a handy chart touching on the concept. Basically it comes down to how masculine, feminine or whatever else you feel at home living and presenting to society as. Gender expression has traditionally been very restricted in many societies but (at least in the West) a lot of attention has been brought relatively recently to those of us who defy conventional gendered appearances & behaviors.

So, NSers of all genders, what is your gender expression like? Do you live by the traditional stereotypes of your sex, gender and orientation or do you defy them? In what ways are masculine and in what ways are you feminine?

Personally, I'm a queer cis guy who generally presents rather androgynously but still recognizably male. I think I can be pretty great at presenting straight-up feminine if I feel like but I usually don't. I'm mostly into boys (occasionally people of other genders too) but my taste mostly runs towards the prettier end of the male spectrum. How about you?

• In terms of gender identity, I am somewhere between male and completely neuter in this department.
• In terms of gender expression, I would probably be somewhere between male and completely neuter in this department as well, but I do not feel capable of expressing myself.
• Biological sex is some sort of male as I have a collection of male bits.
• Sexual orientation is bisexual/demisexual. I have to take a very long time to completely trust someone before I can consider intimacy and at that point, their general gender/sexual load-out does not matter.

Gender expression: I present pretty neutral, but sometimes feminine, but I wish I could present more masculine. I'm not out, though, and I depend on parents for clothes.
Biological sex: female
Sexual orientation: Demi-polyromantic asexual. I'm mainly attracted to non-binary and trans people. I am sometimes attracted to feminine cis people, but not often.

I'm a heterosexual male and that's about it for my expression. I don't completely understand why things are considered feminine or maculine among many gender related topics. All I see (or at least try to) individuals and their actions.

Don't forget that the representation of them as synonyms reflects common usage, and in context they can still be separated.
