A Brighter Future? 2020 RP OOC/SIGNUP

A BRIGHTER FUTURE?
2020 RP
OOC/SIGN UP

The change came in 2020. It was meant to make Europe peaceful forever. But would it?
Since the Second World War, Europe had been relatively peaceful. Not many wars took place, and when they did they were usually on quite a small scale, especially in the West of the continent. However, the lessons of the past were slowly forgotten, and by 2014 Europe found itself with growing levels of conflict yet again. Independence movements sprang up, Novorossiya was in a full-blown conflict with Ukraine, and there were plenty of nationalist struggles bubbling under the surface. It was the following year that the great idea of a forever-peaceful Europe really started to take shape.
A group of mostly Socialist politicians realised that rising tensions between states would eventually result in a possibly nuclear war, but almost certainly an armed conflict on a large scale. They realised that they needed a big conference of every single European state, where changes would be made to the map so that the continent could be as peaceful as possible. By 2018, the idea had widespread support, and in 2019, the conference took place, in Schwerin, the geographic centre of the continent as defined by the politicans who organised it. The changes would come into effect on January 1st 2020.
Faroe Islands to become an independent nation.
Scotland to become an independent nation.
Catalonia to become an independent nation.
Euskara to become an independent nation.
Venice to become an independent nation.
Abkhazia to become an independent nation.
South Ossetia to become an independent nation.
South Tyrol to be ceded to Austria from Italy.
Belgium to be partitioned between the Netherlands, France and Germany.
East Karelia to be ceded to Finland from Russia.
Novorossiya to be ceded to Russia from Ukraine.
Transnistria to be ceded from Moldova to Russia.
Republica Srpska to be ceded from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Serbia.
Part of Bosnia-Herzegovina to be ceded from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Croatia.
Kosovo to merge with Albania.
Western Macedonia to be ceded from Macedonia to Albania.
Northern Epirus to be ceded from Albania to Greece.
Northern Cyprus to merge with Turkey.

This RP starts on the 1st July 2020, 6 months after the changes first came into effect. Most countries have now reached stability and a certain type of government. So, will your nation be content with what is meant to be the last changes ever to the European continent? Or will you still attempt to expand further territorially? The choice is yours.

RULES
These should be obvious, but:
1. No godmodding. This will result in an immediate penalising action by the OP/co-OP
2. Remember that nuclear weapons are EXTREMELY POWERFUL in the modern day, so just try to avoid nuclear war, m'kay?
3. Don't be stupid- The people of Europe, by and large, are fairly happy with this new arrangement. If you start imposing sanctions or declaring war for almost no reason, there will be a public outcry in most countries, and the conflicts will escalate. So be careful.

CO-OPs
If you would like to be co-op, please feel free to ask me. That's all.

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear communist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a humanist.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible realistic egalitarian with several strong convictions.
