Breath of Draco (TMC Only Role Play)

[Imperial Technocracy]

Breath of Draco(The Military Commonwealth only Role Play) is a Role Play for the entire region. No one nation will be able to "beat it". There's several avenues one can take and there's many outcomes that can also occur.

More than two decades ago in the Imperial Technocracy, a doomsday cult known as the Cult of the Dragon sprung up. They were a small but fanatical group insistent that the world was going to be destroyed at the hands of a great Dragon. Of course, such nonsensical behavior and beliefs weren't accepted in the I.T. at the time and the cult was ignored. Ignored until that one frightful day when the cults leader (Wendy Thomas) and twelve others kidnapped four school buses filled with children on their way home from school. A week long standoff between the FBI, Police and others against the Cult occurred. Sadly, in the end all did not end well. The FBI was given the order to move in at the old ironworks factory and as they did, the Cult blew up the factory with all inside. More than 80 children, 50 cult members and 100 FBI,Police and more were killed that day. It was a dark day in the I.T. But, the nation as a whole healed and people moved on.

12 years ago another cult sprung up. This time in Florence Union area. But this time, the Cult of the Dragon didn't kidnap anyone. Instead, more than thirty prominent citizens of Florence and more than 200 prominent citizens (and or their family members.) from other nations joined this cult.They started making headway but then one day, the cult (numbering more than 2,000 in total now.) all committed suicide in a mass death ritual involving chlorine gas.

5 years ago, the Cult of the Dragon has returned. This time members from all nations in the M.C. flock to their new leader Draco Mathews (A man of I.T. and Celter blood)a prominent Theologist and Astrophysics scientist. Draco Mathews, a Nobel Peace Prize Winner himself shocked the world when he came out as the leader of the new Cult of the Dragon. Police went to arrest him and he vanished, never to be seen again. Not till today at least.

It is an early winter morning and things are getting chillier in much of the world. Warming up in others. The heads of every single nation receive an important communique at the same time (or most likely within minutes of one another.) with this message...

"For years, we have warned you all of the impending doom the Dragon will bring to you. For years you have had time to prepare. Have you? No! You haven't. You sit there in your leather chairs watching television and eating your pies and cakes and sipping your coffee. Mankind has been judged and found wanting. It has destroyed this world through pollution and chaos. The Dragon has re-awoken and has set it's eyes upon all of mankind. It's great breath belched forth hurling through the ages at us as we breathe this very day. Look to heaven and say your prayers. For soon we all will die in a fiery explosion and disease and death shall spread through those who survive like the scythe through the wheat field at harvest time. Pray my children for tomorrow we all may die.

[New Hunteria]

Hunteria has declared a state of emergency, All that are found participating in this cult are, will, Be shot publicly.


Hunteria has offered to Help in anyway against the cultists.

Theoniatium does not take these threats seriously, as there has not been any proof that there is any "judgement" that will threaten the human race. As for Hunteria, shooting them in public will do absolutely nothing, and I worry that you will eventually turn to killing at the slightest provocation. We ask all nations to keep a level head and form a meeting; so that we may address the world to these threats of annihilation.

Siensar increases its level of alert from Green to yellow. Police forces are increased as are patrols. The ruling council issues Order #69, military personnel are deployed into civilian sectors as additional law enforcement. A curfew is set from 11 pm till 6 am and Organization Black Coat is created (A elite group designed to search and capture criminals and have unlimited jurisdiction.). Citizens are concerned but are reassured that all is safe and that the heightened level of security is just a preemptive measure.

As Marmero's military is vast within the country, two trained and armed soldiers will be posted at every school in the nation...Last time we took threats lightly, we got burned (Marmeran separatist movement)

Theoniatium urges everyone to not post military personal to school's and create special police forces with unlimited jurisdiction. We point out that the group has commited mass suicide the last time and, and the wording that this isn't an attempt of human conflict but that of cataclysmic damnation. ie an asteroid to destroy the world

Fear not, we have yet to start any task force of the sort, this is just to deter any would be attackers from our nations children.
Although many nations would be quick to dismiss 'eternal damnation' as religious hogwash...The fluctuations in temperature around the world as concerning, and the closest thing to a fiery death in an Astrophysicist's eyes would be...A star going supernova, or a GRB aimed directly at our planet.. Has the sun been behaving abnormally over the past months? Or any stars close enough to Earth to pose a threat in the event of either of these scenarios?

Astronomers and other scientists and space organizations in Florence, Marmero, Theoniatium, Siensar and the Technocracy all report that the sun has been behaving well within normal parameters as have near by suns.

During the process of looking (which take about a week to observe.) two amateur astronomers in Florence, one in Marmero and three in Siensar and two in Theoniatium all discover what they believe is a new system and send the pictures to the appropriate space agency within their nation.

Upon receiving this information, the Siensar Aeronautical Space Agency (SASA) aligns its most powerful telescopes and its astronomical satellites towards the new system. Also, police in conjunction with the military begin searching the homes and businesses as well as all other property of suspected cult members.

We could have a similar event on our hands to that of V838 Monocerotis...Two stars merging, the outburst caused would be on an unimaginable scale, and if it is close enough to Earth, would be catastrophic.

Twenty-five minutes after the three suspects are arrested, an emergency call to the police is made. A high rise apartment complex is being reported with having sounds of automatic gunfire on numerous floors.

High General Petrov Stalin is quite taken back at the news of what's crossed his desk. He looks to his adviser "Are we sure about this? I don't want to scare people unnecessarily. We can't have any room for error." Dr.Issac Tolstov responds with "Yes High General. The calculations were checked a dozen times and now have been confirmed by every astronomy lab we have. This is going to happen." the High General sighs "Get me the security council." and the Dr. hurries off. The High General sends a communication to every nation...

I, High general Petrov of Siensar request your presence on a teleconference. Disturbing news has been discovered and it effects the region as a whole. My security council will be present, you may wish to also have yours. The conference will take place in two hours time. I assure you, you will wish to be present for this.

High General Petrov Stalin"

"What do you know?..." He asks simply, clasping his hands together on the desk and looking directly in to the camera.

The High General stands before the council and the video monitors for any foreign representatives that may arrive via teleconference.

"Thank you all for coming. I know this was rather short notice and I did not feel that it would be advisable to hold back or delay the information. As many of you know, recently Siensar scientists and astronomers as well as others discovered what they believed was a new star. Many looked past it for the time being in an effort to try and find some sort of astronomical event near by that could somehow be tied into this Cult of the Dragon's threat. What we of Siensar coined Planet M-87256D turns out in fact not to be a planet at all. It is a comet. This comet, appears to originate somewhere near or from within the Draco constellation. As soon as it was discovered that it was a comet and not a star, Siensar personnel worked in conjunction with others..."

"As you can see here, the comet appears to originate from one of these two areas..." zooms in to show several systems "and it is our belief that this comet at it's unimaginable speed will enter our solar system in six years. To be exact, six years, five months, three weeks, two days. This comet, now known as Draco's Breath by many is oficially named Hannah Blondie in respect to the amateur astronomer who originally spotted it. The comet is more than fifty miles in diameter and weighs more than ten billion tons. As it gets closer, we will be able to get better readings of it. However, if...and we believe more of a when it hits this planet, this will be a Extinction Level Event or E.L.E. for short. We are confident in our numbers and they have been confirmed by scientists in other nations. My friends...this planet is about to be attacked by our greatest enemy ever."
