PETA Makes Minecraft Server

Well, PETA is apparently creating a Minecraft server to combat the abuse of animals in Minecraft. So no more killing sheep, cows, pigs or the newer animals now there. Personally, I don't understand why PETA has to be so weird and pretty extreme. The premise of the organization should be something we all agree with, which is the ethical treatment of animals. I am pretty sure most people believe in this from vegetarians to the most rabid meat eaters. So it just looks like the latest outreach of weirdness by PETA.

It probably has more to do with the gratuitous gore in their scare images.

As for the Minecraft server, the message I'm getting is "harming animals is a no-no, but strip mining an entire island is A-OK".

Its a good thing that the pixels that look like cows, pigs ETC in mine-craft aren't really animals and aren't even live. This completely negates the need to treat them in an ethical way.

PETA also uses objectification of ~attractive~ bodies (from a straight man's POV, and with a little more of beauty standards) to campaign. Many in feminism dislikes their activism because of said reason.
Pro: Communism/anarchism, Indigenous rights, MOGAI stuff, bodily autonomy, disability rights, environmentalism
Meh: Animal rights, non-harmful religion/superstition, militant atheism, left-leaning reform of capitalism
