Zombie Apocalypse in Genevievia!

[Archeuland and Baughistan]

It began with a small outbreak of irrational behavior within the city of Port Honey, Archeuland. Blamed for lack of sanitation and health, the city has become the most scum-ridden city in all Genevievia. Running rampant with crime, prostitution, and riot, it is almost completely independent from the central government. The police and fire departments are virtually non-existent. Civilized parts of town are quickly being overrun by illegal immigrants.

That was just the beginning.

What began yesterday was nothing compared to the events of the 31 October 2014, the beginning of the end of millions of lives across Genevievia. It started when a family of four displayed erratic behavior, since traced to the family's ingestion of cannabalistic-inducing, mind-altering poison, developed in an unknown country.

The family could not be contained. After the family attacked emergency workers, it was not long before the emergency workers began to display erratic behavior within hours of being bitten. Planes and air traffic was not shut down in time, as zombies spread and seeded themselves across Genevievia. It did not take long for it to become a pandemic.

Massouba, Archeuland - Imperial Security Bunker
"Emperor Markus," said Commander Netanyahu, "we have experienced something most unusual."

"Unusual?" said Markus fiercely. "Unusual!"

"Indeed, sir," interjected a noble. "We have not experienced something like this before."

Markus strode to the table in the center of the room, whereupon was a map of Archeuland and surrounding countries. Detailed imagery depicted the eight imperial armies spread thinly across Archeuland, combating the zombie hordes with the help of the many civilian militias.

"They must all be destroyed," said Markus. "General, you will kill them. All of them. Destroy these abominations. They are without hope."

Netanyahu approached him, bowing slightly. "Your majesty. We shall do as you command."

Markus noticed uncertainty in the Commander's voice. "What is it?"

Netanyahu swallowed loudly. "You are in this bunker, sir...because...the zombie horde is taking over Massouba as we speak! The city is lost! The armies will take three days to save us!"



After a moment, Markus replied. "Not if I have anything to say about it. Get me a gun."

"Sir....?"

Emperor Markus, suiting up in fine battle armor, took hold of a vintage AK and shouldered it as his last resort. He preferred instead to use his new sword, which he named Ecclesa. Given to him but a few days before by the Deian-Salazarians in a peace summit, he was proud to use the blade. He was emboldened by the proud saying carved diligently into it - 'FOR THE CHURCH'.

Markus and five hundred others were armed. His aides insisted that he carried a buoy knife and a handgun as well as backups. He was also given a radio. He was assigned a bodyguard contingency of over five hundred. Some of the men piled into jeeps, other into humvees. Some manned tanks, others helicopters. The imperial air force was en route, having finished the bombing and destruction of the completely zombified city of Port Honey.

"Upon the ruins of heathen Port Honey shall we build a city to rival Massouba and Augustinople combined, men," Markus cried. "Now, to battle!" Unsheathing his sword, the hangar doors opened, leading to a tunnel. As he opened it, the sunlight took him by surprise. But he was ready. The first zombie charged at him, and he sliced it easily with his sword. "Kill them. Kill them now."

Bodies littered the streets of Massouba, and little else lived. Most of the citizens had attempted to flee, but many carried the zombie disease across the country and eventually into Usea.

The world was descending into chaos...

"Lord, our God!" said Markus, as he impaled a zombie. "Save us!"

[Cleventon]

Cleventonian leader Drage Nicezio was sitting in the Command Bunker near the frontline. Every morning he would take a walk around the 5 mile wide military base that was walled in, he could hear the battle close by and was hoping the Grand Marshal could come up with a new offensive against the dead, which the Grand Marshal did and he presented it later that day.

In the battle zone, the tanks led the way, and teams of troops followed close behind. A large contingent of zombies began moving to them, and a defensive line was set up outside the infected town. One young private set up the heavy machine gun, and his sergeant told him to use the rapid fire to aim at the legs, slow them down and root them out later. The tanks began firing first sending body parts flying, and then small arms opened up. The private started shooting into the legs of the dead, and it was working, slowing them down. For now it was becoming a stalemate, but inches were being taken slowly.

Papal Palace, Augustinople

The College of Cardinals, with representatives from many nations of the known world, was gathered in prayer and ceremony. No amount of zombie apocalypse would interrupt their offerings to God.

The organ hummed a fine tune, fitting for the occasion. While some priests chanted in Latin about God's redemption and salvation of Augustinople from the zombie hordes, others slowly prayed and listened carefully. The sound of gunfire interrupted notes from a lengthy version of A Mighty Fortress is Our God, which the priests, many of which at least, were singing along to.

Others were gathered in the room, praying God would save them and their beloved city.

Situated on a small peninsula jutting into the southern basin of Lake St. Paul, Augustinople, geographically, was a key territory to hold. While the waters formed a natural boundary on three sides, walls still surrounded the city completely. At the summit of the highest hill in Augustinople stood the massive Papal Palace as well as the Cathedral and Basilica. Below them, carved into the hills, were many homes, churches, and monasteries. An imperial palace stood to the left, and masses of homes. The zombies could only infiltrate Augustinople from the eastern wall, which was currently defended by a huge contingency of Swiss Guardsmen, as well as militias and civilian military. If they fell, they knew, Augustinople could fall as well, except by Divine intervention, which all believed would indeed happen to save them. Still, thousands of citizens, armed with guns and Bibles alike, within the thousands of homes in the city, were prepared to defend the holy capital to the last man.

"The walls are nothing," said one priest in the Church, "but symbolic of the power of God, the wall, the rock, that will save us."

Now, many years later as the seemingly unstoppable undead Scourge marches across Genevievia , human civilization teeters on the brink of destruction as war and terror close in all around them. The citizens of Gilneas are faced with one terrible truth, their mighty wall cannot hold back the dead for much longer.

Luckily the situation in New Urban II is under control. But in other cities it is spiraling out of control. In one a stryker group rolls into town and troops pour out. "Remember, aim for the head." says the company commander. Zombies spring out from different directions and the fight begins. The air is full of gunfire, and out of a Catholic church comes Catholic survivors who have armed themselves with anything they could and rush to the aid of the military and police.

Vice President Trent is reaching out to other nations, and since the air force was recently built up, bombing raids on specific targets abroad are an option for allies.

Having reclaimed about one city block in the last hour, Markus stopped to rest and pray for but a moment. "We must have our strength," explained. "Let us set up a perimeter and prepare for a wave of zombies in the future. They surely smell us, as well as the blood all around us. Be ready, be vigilant."

The numbers of the contingency led by Markus had grown as some civilians, armed with guns, had joined the fight for Massouba. Marching through the city boldly, they suffered many casualties but continued to gain ground. Those that were infected quickly hid and ended their own lives, as was custom. It was disturbing indeed.

Tanks rolled through the city and aircraft buzzed overhead, many carrying missiles designed to poison the zombies. Others carried missiles containing test cures -- currently, to no avail. A cure was in process in other parts of the Catholic States, and several cure missiles had already been attempted, none yet successful.

"We are in the process of reclaiming the city from the infected hordes," said Markus, stopping after they had finished another few blocks. We have already killed thousands of them."

When Markus saw the men raise their guns unexpectedly, he pulled out his sword and turned around. Thousands of them. The infected ran with the speed of a cheetah, blood and other gore foaming at their mouths and running down their arms. Mindlessly, they sped towards the men with a force of a train.

Markus cursed. "SHOOT THEM! THEN RETREAT! THEN REPEAT! GO GO GO!"

The Commonwealth plans to attack the Zombie Horde before it spreads into Commonwealth Prime, where the Congressional Party holds power. With President Hank bitten by a zombie, it is up to his Command Chain to stop the zombies themselves. The Commonwealth launch's it's cure missiles at any city zombies are spotted in, and then attempt to evacuate them. The Commonwealth sends in Armor Divisions to fight zombies on many fronts. The Commonwealth is at war, with Hank's death looming over the horizon, as he has ordered that he be killed before he is zombiefied. As the Commonwealth armies are deployed, strictly in Armor Divisions (With Infantry inside the Tanks) in order to hold off the zombies.

The Commonwealth's Existence is on the line.

Markus called up to the Gilneans in the helicopter. "BY NO MEANS! This is my capital! I'm staying! Do not nuke us! We have the air force in the skies patrolling and you will be shot down if you try to destroy us!"

Just then, another zombie horde came storming through.

By then, the horde was literally peeling away at the men and growing in size massively. The strategy of the horde -- sheer force by numbers and mindlessness -- was impossible to counter. Thousands of them charged in a massive lump towards Markus' men. Many of the infected would fall at the gunfire, but the rest would continue to charge, a huge mobile heap of sickness. Once they reached Markus' men, they would attack a few rows closest to the front. Markus and his men would have to shoot the infected within their army, and then retreat, keeping the infected at a distance. Several of the tanks had been taken, as they were to slow to retreat in time. The trucks were also useless except to serve as barricades.

"We need reinforcements," Markus yelled at the helicopter, resigned. "We have lost much territory, and there's no reason to expect that the zombies won't come at us from another front. When will that army arrive? I heard you're sending one!"

The wall of Augustinople had not fallen. Moreover, the zombies were being pushed back. Emboldened citizens within the city had decided to join the fight, shooting at whatever undead moved. The infected had failed at attempting to scale the wall, and it was not the Augustinople armed forces that were making their way through the gates and down the wall, chasing the zombies to the woodline.

A Swiss Guard Commander, Michael, ordered a perimeter to be established at the woodline. He also established a swift supply route and created a communications network with a central co-ordination within the heart of the city.

"We have the woodline secured. We will continue gathering forces here," he reported. "Augustinople is secure, and there is no danger of zombie invasion at this time. They will not make it past our perimeter."

Just then, barbwire fences were being erected along the edges of the woods. More men were arriving from the city to act as sentries.

Send in the 5th Army to the northern part of the city and have them work their way down. If the Kaiser intends to speak with me, he can come and see the chaos himself! I will speak with him once this dreadful judgment is concluded!"

"My Emperor!" gasped a breathless General Scarlett, stopping and bending double in order to catch her breath. "There's no nice way to put this - it appears we are under attack from zombies!"

"Very funny." the Emperor replied sarcastically, knowing that it was Halloween.

"I'm serious! I implore you to turn on the TV!"

"Okay then. You still don't have me fooled....." his voice trailing off as he saw the Emergency broadcast. "Shit" was all he could manage.

"To the bunker then?"

"Not without getting my wife and advisor, and we're going via the armoury." As he spoke, the Empress and Alice entered the room. The Emperor let out a sigh of relief.

And so, the Emperor and his party (who were quickly joined by General Paul Charlton and General Richard Quick) went and got some guns. The Emperor had his sword that he had been given in Deian Salazar. It was a simple longsword, with "Staying out of conflict is the best way to solve it,but when that is not possible,our enemies will feel the sting of this blade'. That was most certainly true. He complemented this with his personal handgun from Baltic Firearms, and an AA-12 shotgun with a drum magazine.

The Empress also had a personal handgun, and backed it up with a TAR-21 assault rifle - all she knew was that it supposedly had low recoil.

Hopefully these weapons were unnecessary, with them all going into the bunker - but better safe than sorry. The Imperial Vanguard was a unit devoted to the personal protection of the Emperor/Empress, and they were the best of the best - it was unlikely that the palace would be overrun.
