That wouldn't hurt the US a bit, I'm sure the zombies could get bills passed far more quickly, at least they'd stop being so damn obstructionist about it.

Less laws being passed is good. There's way too many on the books as it is. Everything is either illegal, or requires a permit. And that's not much of an exaggeration.

In all seriousness, it's likely just an exercise in making plans to sudden emergencies. It's kinda like what the CDC did when it started talking about what to do in a zombie apocalypse. I'm sure the US government loves the zombie fad because it allows them to teach citizens about how to prepare for and respond to a real emergency using zombies as an example.

pfff... That "plan" would fail spectacularly. Assuming a zombie virus existed, nuking a city filled with zombies would only make the problem worse. While the bomb would most definitely kill all the zombies in the actual city, the zombies in the suburbs and rural areas that would be given good dose of radiation and still be active. Then the US army would have to deal with a much more serious threat, moving radioactive waste hazards that would kill you before you could even see them.
