Genevia peace ball(IC,Genevia ONLY!)

OOC: Sorry I haven't been posting in the other thread, school did a good job on keeping me away from Nationstates.

The Iravian archipelago had been living in peace for the past few months, without the government being involved in foreign affairs the people of Irav finally had a chance to lead their lives in peace. No air-alarms from enemy aircraft and no foreign wars that the government needed to fight. According to most people this was called the half year of isolation.

In the government building located in the city of Veits which is Irav's administrative capital city. President de Vries was siting in his office like every other day. He was reading a newspaper of the LIV, which mostly reported things which involved the government. As he was reading an article about what was known as the months of isolationism, one of his advisors came into his office.

''President we have recieved an invite for a peace ball. Which would be held in Deian Salazar, and they have let us know no war will follow from this peace conference.''

''I see, thank you very much. I would like to end this Genevian war for once and for all.'' he said as he looked out over the city center which was covered in a thick layer of snow. ''Please let our friends in Deian Salazar know we are coming to the peace conference or ball or whatever it is called.''

[Aravea]

The past few months had marked a rather remarkable shift for the nations of the Usean Federation as the fruits of peace were finally beginning to appear. No longer would war be the order of the day as after decades of bloody warfare the guns had finally fallen silent. Now in the autumn of PTE 118 in the Imperial the Empress of the federation, Historia von Andresova, could finally relax and prepare for a long overdue vacation. These plans were unfortunately interrupted by an aide who walked in carrying a letter that had been received from her granddaughter Holo who was now empress of the Feng. She sighed as the aide handed her the letter and reading it she exclaimed "So they want me to attend a ball that they are throwing to commemorate the end of the Gilnean wars? This does give me a good opportunity to visit my family in Genevia once more.." As she said this she leaned back and thought "Very well...I will go."

[Valaran]

The Valaran Empire wasn't strictly in Genevia. But luckily, a past conflict had allowed them to keep the small colony of Oran Island (and surrounding archipelago). Despite its location near some of the more.... belligerent states in Genevia, it had remained surprisingly untroubled by the wars, instead serving as a quite waypoint for refugees and a VRF military presence. Oran island had rode out the shockwaves of the various conflicts that had riven the continent without any significant scars, remaining the Empire's one holding on the continent.

Thus, by the flimsiest of technicalities, the Valaran Empire (never one to resist a good ball) was able to send a delegate to Genevian Peace Ball. The only question was who to send. The Royal Family was otherwise engaged, and at any rate were too valuable to risk right now. Instead, a noble from the powerful Lyrvaen family was chosen. Erina was talented, beautiful and had some vague connection to the Skaran dynasty. It made her the perfect choice.

It was a shame the flight took so long; Oran island may have been close to Deian salazar, but the main Imperial territories were decidedly not so near. Erina had a long time before she could make it to the ball. But some things couldn't be helped, no matter how hard you tried.

[Archeuland and Baughistan]

Emperor Markus heard a knock on the door. "Enter," he said, not looking up from the newspaper and breakfast.

"There's to be a peace ball, Markus," said his wife.

"Markus looked up. Another?"

"That's right." She approached his table. "Let's go, the two of us together. I haven't been to any of those peace balls before."

Markus laughed. "They usually end up quite violent. But this may be different. I don't want to put you in danger, Angelina, but you are a resilient woman. Come with me, then."

"Delightful!" she said. "I will arrange for the transportation."

Markus shooed her away, and then made some jest to himself about Buddy the Fox that only he could understand. He laughed with satisfaction.

[Allied Connurist States]

The Allied Connurist States had not been involved in any past Genevian wars, but due to the fact that all of Genevia was invited, they were sending someone anyway. To many nations in Genevia, the ACS would be a mystery - with them knowing little or nothing concerning the leadership or the military et cetera.

Unfortunately, it wasn't likely that they'd learn much more about the leadership tonight - Emperor Connor I was playing host to the Cyprenian President and Empress Emily I was on a diplomatic mission not even on the same continent. So, the ACS decided to send Alice Pearson.

Alice was normally employed as the Personal Advisor to the Emperor - a job which she very much liked, as you got your own room in the Imperial Connurist Palace and that you could pretty much get any item within reason if you asked for it. Despite only being 16, she was extremely intelligent (though inexperienced) - and had a true interest in the political areas of her work - which is described as 'tedious' by most former advisors. Sixteen was generally automatically passed off as too young for such an important role by most other countries - but the ACS was a country in which the Emperor and Empress were 24 and the top military General was 30. It was certainly a nation in which if you were good, age wasn't a factor.

And so Alice sat alone on the flight to Deian Salazar. She was 5"9, brunette and possessed eyes which could only be sufficiently described as mesmerising. After all, it would be a lie if the Emperor had not been influenced by her appearance when it came to making an appointment for her position. With an estimated hour before landing, Alice still hadn't decided what to wear - what did people wear to these sorts of things!?

[Tsarist Chernigov]

Someone was knocking on the door of Tsar Nikolais' Library,where he "shouted come on in"!,his eyes still focused on the book he had been reading.

His wife,Empress Arina Romanov came in and said "There is a peace ball in Deian Salazar."

"Really? Another peace ball,I know how these usually turn out,but this time it might be different."He responded.

"Can we go please,all of us,including the Tsarevich Alexander Nikolaivich Romanov,Vladimir, Angelika,and not to forget our cousins?"

"I don't see why not,but we all need bodyguards."Tsar Nikolai responded.

"Sure,I will arrange the mode of transport."Empress Arina replied.

"Okay,just let me get myself ready."Tsar Nikolai said.

[Serrian]

With yet another peace ball, and the memory of what happened at last peace ball still fresh in the memory of the Serrian government, Charles Snippy this time refused to go without an escort of at least six soldiers of the EOF-EGD. However, when he is given this guard (one of the members being Sergeant Derf Anyo, the Chief of the Elite Guard) he gladly boards a plane and flies for Deian Salazar, along with former president Allen Mallory, and a laptop ready to transmit a live signal from Synapse.

[Zunkwentania]

"A peace ball? Why not? Send Seletri!" ordered Foreign Minister Valquial. A small conflict in the region had led to territory, and with peace treaties signed, expansion was undergoing. While unfortunately being next to warlike states, it had close allies in Vietnam and Valaran. Many refugees occupied the territories, and military training and response forces were set up. Seletri was the former Zunkwentanian Energy Minister and ICoN delegate, and was ready for a good ball and some diplomacy. Seletri had been the dignitary in Genevieva for quite a while. So the flight took off; but it was extremely long, unfortunately. Harried, Seletri exited.

[Archeuland and Baughistan]

The first dignitaries from Archeuland and Baughistan arrived that evening. Among them included Emperor Markus III, Empress Angelina IX, Prince Markus IV (and his sister Princess Rosina), Prince Markus IV's wife (Rita I), and Foreign Minister Jacque Miles. Security was a major priority. The failed kidnapping attempt of the Emperor at the Massouba Conference nearly a week before had raised caution in Archeulandic security. An entire battalion of the Theocracy's finest troops were sent in to guard the Emperor.

"Ah,Yujing,It has been quite a while since I have been here,I can not believe how much it has changed",said Tsar Nikolai.

"I can not believe that I am able to come here finally,it is such a beautiful city,isn't it",said Empress Arina.

"Indeed,I wonder how everyone else is doing,but I know we are almost at there",Tsar Nikolai responded.

"I just hope nothing bad happens",said Tsarevich Alexander as he walked into the area of the aircraft that Tsar Nikolai and Empress Arina.

"Brace yourselves,we are about to land",said Tsar Nikolai.

As soon as the plane landed,everyone got into the three limousines ready for the family.Tsar Nikolai made sure that the flags on the vehicles were up to date,and when he saw that they were,he got into the first one.

49 minutes later,they arrived at the palace and immediately were allowed inside the building.

[Archeuland and Baughistan]

Markus and his family, as well as the Foreign Minister, greeted the Chernigov delegation in the courtyard of the palace. "It hasn't started yet," Markus explained, "but it is about to.

"Now," said Markus, "allow me to introduce you to my lovely wife Angelina. Angelina, Nikolai. Nikolai, Angelina. And who is this lady you have brought with you, Tsar? Greetings, ma'am, welcome to Deian-Salazar."

[The Royally United Provinces]

Two black Chevy Suburbans rolled around the corner with a pristine Rolls Royce in the middle. All three car neared the flags of Deain Salazar and The Royally United Provinces. They grinder to a halt and men rushed out. The driver of the Rolls Royce opened the back door. It seem odd how it opened backward but it was luxury thing. Out stepped King James and his wife Queen Alaina. They had left their adopted son/nephew and daughter at home for safety of the heirs. They walked inside greeting others. They made their way to the courtyard and met with the Chernigov delegates and the Baughistani delegation.

[Allied Connurist States]

Alice had been driven to the Peace Ball by a member of the Imperial Vanguard, in the typical Connurist diplomatic car - the four-door Aston Martin Rapide. She had decided to not wear a dress, because she didn't want to give off the impression that she was in charge - this would be the first time many of the Genevian nations would meet a representative from the ACS and as such Alice did not want to appear like an Imperial.

However, that did not deter her from choosing a nice looking outfit. She looked quite formal in a business shirt, a skirt and a jacket. She saw some delegations from Archeuland and Chernigov and she knew who (most of them) they were - it was part of her job to know leaders of nations. However, she wasn't sure whether she should approach them or not.

The Vanguard soldier who had driven her walked in as well, but kept his distance. Apparently, these Genevian Peace Balls had not been particularly peaceful in the past. He thought it rather rude to be carry an assault rifle, so instead he had a compact sub-machine gun.

3 Black cars came around the corner and drove down the street to the building where the peace ball was held. Inside of the car was the Iravian president David de Vries together with 2 bodyguards and his advisor Sven Rommert. The cars stopped in front of the building and the president stepped out of his car, walking towards the entrance of the building.

''The weather sure is a lot better then ours back in Irav.'' he said to his bodyguards.

The Iravian delegation entered the building and greeted the guests.

Markus and his family, as well as the Foreign Minister, greeted the Chernigov delegation in the courtyard of the palace. "It hasn't started yet," Markus explained, "but it is about to.

"Now," said Markus, "allow me to introduce you to my lovely wife Angelina. Angelina, Nikolai. Nikolai, Angelina. And who is this lady you have brought with you, Tsar? Greetings, ma'am, welcome to Deian-Salazar."

Pleased to meet you,and this is my wife,Arina,oh and don't forget my sons Tsarevich Alexander and Grand Duke Vladimir,and this is my daughter Angelika.

Rick Lelia and their two 5-year-old children, Joseph and Amanda, walked into the ballroom with great haste. Rick and Lelia looked exuasted. Joe and Amanda had been running around the moving helicopter, knocking into things and causing a ruckus. They hoped and prayed that there were other kids for the twins to play with. Joseph and Amanda started to run off, checking out the different leaders. Joseph ran up to Tsar Nikolas. "Um, excuse me sir?Are you the guy who almost died?" Joe asked in a sweet voice. Meanwhile, Amanda was bothering his Uncle Yan. Lelia started walking around, looking for the Aravean officials. Rick walked over to Markus who was surrounded by guards. Rick began trying to get through the guards, to no avail. Getting annoyed, he put up his hand before saying "Rickey Rickey, choppy choppy." The guards moved, and Rick greeted Markus.

"There's Rick! Hello there Rick. Welcome," Markus began, "welcome, welcome! Why, hello there young Joe, I am Emperor Markus. Allow me to introduce you to my eldest son. Do you like dinosaurs? My son Markus (he's named after me) used to like them when he was a lad. He'll play dinosaurs with you if you wish."

In the meantime, the adults walked towards the buffet while the children, not caring too much for "grown-up" food, played with toy dinosaurs and cars, supervised by Rick and Markus' son.

No one minds if I have my military choir sing a song for anyone who gets bored,asked Tsar Nikolai.The military choir immediately entered the room and prepared to play a song.

"Thank you, Rick," Markus said. "How about we all go over and get some devilled eggs. I do hope none of you are allergic; Deian-Salazar is known for delicious devilled eggs."

He noticed a scar of Markus' left ear from when Rick attempted to shoot him. "By the way, sorry for trying to shoot you and all. The region was on the brink of war and I was trying to prove Acharastan would have a 'give no sh*ts' attitude. Once again, damn politics."

"Water under the bridge," said Markus, scooping in some more devilled eggs. "These," he noted, "are delicious. I'm going to have nothing but devilled eggs for the rest of the nigh -- wow, is that fried chicken?" He shoved his plate of devilled eggs into a confused Rick, and scrambled towards the fried chicken table. "Delicious," he said.
