Though we don't have an official dish, our most well known is Mlishamo. It is a relatively thick soup that is in a bread bowl. It tastes like clam chowder and chicken soup with pepper spices etc. . Its affordable and can be found almost anywhere in our nation.

Our nation's national dish is a baked potato stuffed with spiced beef, diced tomatoes, garlic, and swiss cheese. Sometimes, in poorer parts of the nation, the beef is substituted with dogmeat. Normally served with butter, sour cream, and chives.

Beef Strogranoff, which was named after the House of Stroganov, Ruthenia's ruling family, is Ruthenia's national dish. It is a Ruthenian dish of sautéed pieces of beef served with smetena.

Several cattle were brought to Siberia and European Russia by the Ruthenians, who snatched some from Mongolia. This act were thought by the Mongols as 'illegal', and so in the 1300s they invaded the Russian principalities including Muscovy, Novgorod and such. Due to the fact that Muscovy (which then evolved into Russia) was afraid of the Mongols they swore fealty and was 'vassalized' by the Mongols. As Ivan III rose to power, Muscovy decided to declare independence and declare war to the Mongols.

A lady by the name of Ivana Stroganov, who was the Tsarina of Russia at that time was known for bringing the golden age of Russian cuisine. She introduced many original foods, many of which include Stroganoff.

The burgeoning cattle population was made population thanks to the Ruthenians and their hardwoork, and Stroganoff is here thanks to the ruling family of Russia. These two reasons are part of what makes Stroganoff Ruthenia's national dish.
