Official New York Governer Election Poll/Discussion Thread

Postby Stuzemstazem » Thu Oct 23, 2014 3:05 pm

Last night The candidates faced off.
I really liked what Michael McDermott said
"Republicans blame democrats for corruption. Democrats blame republicans for corruption. I think Instead of them running the show. The People must. We need to involve the people in our government."
Cumo then shot off at Astorino, and vic versa.
Michael McDermott than only said this, however having 1 minute to debate.
"I rest my case"

I don't see the point. Now, if we were to make a mega thread for all gubernatorial elections, similar to the existing senate election mega thread, then there'd be a point.

There's a few grammatical errors in the OP and in the title. No offense. It's my tendency to notice those sorts of things.

I think the Democrats will win as usual, though I disagree with Democrats and wish someone could just come up with a half-decent platform and actually carry it out.

I don't know why, but I just really want to fight Andrew Cuomo.

Probably the Democratic platform.

The Republican platform is more like a quarter-decent and the rest are shit. There are no real decent platforms.

Anyways, if I lived in New York, I'd reluctantly vote for Cuomo. I think he's smug, incompetent, and not a very good governor, but he's a hell of a lot better than the other candidates.

I feel that platform issue. They have no problem explaining what they're against, but they can't say what they're for, especially the third parties.

Rent Is Too Damn High Party: Perennial candidate Jimmy McMillan made a fourth attempt at running for governor on his self-created line, with Christialle Felix as his running mate.[70] His petitions were later challenged and invalidated after it was discovered McMillan had photocopied many of the petitions to give the appearance of more signatures.[71]-Wikipedia

Did you watch the debate or are you speaking in generalities?

Because I saw the third party candidates (actually, especially the green party guy) give very detailed responses.

EDIT: Here is a link to the debate.

You guys sure about that? I don't know about the Greens, but the LPNY has a very detailed platform that is similar to the main party. (No central planning required!)
