Assault on Calivanthia [FT, IC, Semi-Open, See OOC]

Postby Red Dusk » Mon Oct 20, 2014 1:28 pm

OOC/Sign-Up Thread: http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=316214

Background:
It is a dark time for Calivanthia. Her allies are turning upon her, chief among the now hostile nations is an old ally, the Grand Dominion of Red Dusk, and this nation had pulled all forces away from the Calivanthian territories. It is obvious that the hammer will fall soon, but how soon is not yet known. The many warriors of Calivanthia are preparing to hold their homes against a foe of unknown size... Now they had only to wait.

Currently:
Near the edge of the Home system of Calivanthia
A small Quantum signature signaled the arrival of the first attacker. Shadow had ordered a scout to investigate the system to determine the orbital defenses, so as to allow the leaders in the
RDSC to determine the best combination of ships to send.

As it was, the mighty warship of Shadow himself, the
Ascendant Phoenix was due to have its debut in this engagement. Shadow sat in the captain's seat aboard the bridge of the scout, as he wanted to see the defenses first hand. Upon the exit from Quantum Space, he turned to the radar officer and raised an inquiring eyebrow. The officer noticed and gave the screen a quick glance.
"Nothing yet Sir, but we're still on the edge of the system. It will require being a fair bit closer to the planet before we can tell what's really there."
Shadow nodded, then ordered the shields raised and the Quantum Core readied for a possible emergency jump out of the system.

So, that's the start. I guess we'll see how long it will take for a victor to be declared. As well, I don't know what you have in orbit Cali, so I just improvised.

The invasion of Calivanthia. Not many people lived to tell the tale of how they gain their victory by claiming the head of Dr. Sullivan nor taking over Aio's beautiful city. But whatever the enemy had, Sullivan was ready. Unfortunately for them, the only way to gain through the main gates is to travel and survive within the depths of the Kumee Jungle. Within these jungles lies confusion, stealth, speed and death traps for the unexpected. The planet's wind speed was 35 mph and the temperatures was cool around 50°. The preparations for a massive defense begins.

A long, heavy line of X VXs stand before the gates to fight off any heavy invasion they face. Their shields touch the ground and over their heads with their Plasma Cannons at charge. With each VXs touching one another, it was going to be rough to get to the gates. Shadowtombs roam around within the perimeter to make sure none gets within the gates. X 1s and 800s strolls around the city as HKs and FKs fly around the jungle, cloaked in foreign technology, waiting to strike.

Sullivan stands at his throne and sees the enemy in a long distance. He sighed and fixes his jacket as he shakes his head a bit. Xil walks up and looks over at Sullivan.
Code: Select all
Master? How many are there?

"Three countries, Xil. And it appears Shadow is with them..." he says as he smirks.
Code: Select all
Shadow? Space won't work for him this time. I have the autocannons ready just in case if he does pulls his Spacecraft out on us.

"Excellent..." He smiles. "Keep everything we got out on defense. We can't allow these people have their way within my city."
Code: Select all
Aye, master.

Human citizens evacuate deep underground to avoid being harmed by enemy fire. Xil walks through the city, helping the citizens to go to safety. With MirrorTech hidden away from enemy radar and signals, it would give Calivanthian a distinct advantage against the enemy. An A.I goes off in the midst of Clockworks's helmet.
Code: Select all
NanoTech, Phase Shifter, Crystalnoid, ClockBox,...

Each technology the A.I named off activated their systems, enabling them to use these technology by themselves. It appears the Calivanthians was ready for what approaches from the other side of the Kumee Jungles.

Samuelopalus, the golden city.

Towering majestically over the huge spires of Samuelopalus, over even the floating defences and the hub of transports and flying Phoenix's which soared through the skies above Samuelopalus, was the Golden Palace where Admiral Samulus, Emperor of Leumas resided. Normally, he would sit in his golden throne and cast a watchful eye over the happenings of Leumas, updated on events through his tactical holo screens. Normally, there was peace and prosperity in the Empire.

But that time has passed.

The Bydo-Human war, known in Leumas as he war against annihilation, had wrecked the economy of the Empire. Entire planets has been drained of resources in constant strikes, the seas in Leumas itself were drained of its precious gold, and the cruel and spiteful Bydo then hurled it into a black hole, using the remainder for their battleship, which was promptly destroyed. And now, Leumas needed rebuilding.

Suddenly, the voice of the Heir of Samulus, Admiral Leonidiac burst in on his thoughts."My Phoenix Samulus, I have a proposal to gain new resources for rebuilding our economy and Empire." "Continue, Leonidiac." boomed his mighty voice. "Very close to our borders is the system of Calvanthia. Calvanthia is already under attack by an alliance. Perhaps we could send a medium class task force, and maybe gain some economic rewards and a foothold in the system?" "Very well, Leonidiac. Proceed. I will update you on the troop composition, and the you can sort he rest out yourself. Now go, and begin building the fleet." "Yes, my Pheonix." The sound of his footsteps echoed around the walls as he left. He was heading to the tactical room to organise the fleet.

Battle group Reclamation
#1 Phoenix class Titan.
#2 Annihilator class Heavy Capital ships.
#2 Destroyer class Dreadnoughts.
#4 Magnetar class Battle Cruisers.
#8 Victory class Medium Cruisers.
#10 Skirmisher class Light Frigates.

Total: 27 Warships.

Battle group Transport:
#4 Troop carriers.
#4 Vehicle carriers.
#2 Flying vehicle carriers.
#1 Civilian colony frigate.
#1 Other colony frigate.
#20 Escort class Very Light Frigates.

Total: 32 Ships.

With the fleet organised and ready, and the commander set to be High Senior Phoenix Commodore Dirloncobris, the Behemoth larger vessels and the not-so Behemoth smaller Cruisers and Frigates rose up from their rest positions. Rippling through the Atmosphere with ease, they formed up at the edge of the Gravity Well. Then, they entered warp. Space itself seemed to split around the fleet, as the Golden emblazoned Titanic motherships of the fleet moved in first, the smaller ships seeking support in its huge wake. Not so year behind, the transports followed. After a minute or so, the fleet left the Gravity Well, and there was no trace left to suggest they were there in the first place.

OOC:
The fleet will arrive in one post. It will begin to move in two posts. The next post will be deployment phase, recharging energy after the warp jump, setting up positions, preparing etc.

Alright. That is fine. Do keep In mind, everyone that you all must work together to pass through the jungle. The jungle is the only way to breach the main entrance. To make it fair, there are heavy armored shields to stay behind just in case if under fire. Have fun!

IC:
Dr. Sullivan looked over and gazed upon his magnificent city. The thoughts of the enemy tainting his sacred world would make him shallow. He lets out a calm sigh and faces towards the enemies. "I do dare say I may have a challenge.. but the thought of them tainting my temple is far too shabby." One the large Shadowtombs walk up andd slighlty slams the end of his lance and spoke. Almost like a demon.

Code: Select all
The military is ready to defend Aio and the defense systems are up and running, my king.

Sullivan humbly nods. "Good. Thank you." The Shadowtomb nods and walks back to its post. Xil activated the planet's Sun Turrets, allowing high defense from Space. Sullivan knew Shadow couldn't resist being within the stars. He then proceeds back in his throne and sits.

Meanwhile, cloaked Sun Jaguars and Death Snakes hides within the deepest parts of the jungle to maintain a good defensive attack. Clockwork Snipers burrow their grounds and turned on their Hyper Sights along with their X-Ray vision to allow them tp see through structures.

A robotic raven swoops down in front of all the enemies and pecked the ground for only a moment then opens its beak. Inside was a little speaker. Sullivan began to speak through the machine as it looks at them.

Code: Select all
Shadow... I could've expected more from you... as you all know, you are within my jungles. In front of you, in the distance, is my gorgeous city. The only way to reach its gates is to go through the jungle. Unfortunately, aircraft can't get you there due to Sun Turrets active. So! Have fun.

The Raven flew away and sat on the tree, watching them. Xilo machines reside in the waters just in case if some decide to go for a "swim". Sullivan smirked and got back up, looking at his planet. "Hmph. Oh sure, they'll manage to pass. But I'll take down most of them. Let it begin..." he lights his cigar and watches.

In the Aio Star System

"Warning! Defenses detected on planet. Advise relocating further from the planet."
As the alarm appeared on the view-screen, Shadow quickly ordered the helmsman to turn and head further away.
"Lord Shadow, we're detecting numerous defenses on the planet, an orbital assault would be almost impossible, and would be extremely costly."
As the Captain of the scout craft -who had stepped aside as the commander aboard the ship when Shadow had boarded- explained what the scans had found, Shadow nodded, turning to the comms officer as he did so.
"Lieutenant, I want the Ascendant Phoenix to be brought with her fleet into the system, and have the Shadow Ascendancy briefed to gather as many troops from Duskia and the larger colonies and report to this system as their guard. It will be relieved once the Phoenix's fleet is able to detail a guard for the transports."
Shadow finished with his orders to the comms officer, and turned to the Captain.
"Captain, I want the soldiers we brought with us armed and in their drop ships in 20 minutes. I am taking them down to see if we can establish a beachhead on the surface. Any vehicles you have are to be included in the landing, and I want a direct comms link to the bridge at all times."

20 Minutes Later
Shadow disembarked the small drop ship he had been shown to earlier, and glanced up at the large jungle in front of him.
"I'm betting that the Clockworks are waiting for us in there... Chances are that Xil is there too."
Shadow was disrupted from his musing by a message from the scout.
Lord Shadow:
The Ascendant Phoenix is here. There is 30 warships in its fleet, most of them are cruisers.

"Good... At least I have the troops to attack now. But for now...."Shadow stopped mid-sentence, activating the personal comms systems in all the soldiers powered armor. "Build fortifications for the time being. We will wait to see how many others will be assaulting Calivanthia alongside us. We know that there are others who resent the Clockworks. We shall see how many join us now that we have taken the first step and began an attack on their homeworld!"

As Shadow finished his speech, a message -from the Clockworks- appeared on his HUD.

Code: Select all
From: Dr. Sullivan
Shadow... I could've expected more from you... as you all know, you are within my jungles. In front of you, in the distance, is my gorgeous city. The only way to reach its gates is to go through the jungle. Unfortunately, aircraft can't get you there due to Sun Turrets active. So! Have fun.

Shadow raised an eyebrow at the message, before smiling.
"This might be a bit of a longer campaign boys..."

There we go.... The troop ships I mentioned early in the post will be simply adding troops to my attack, they will not be functioning as battle-worthy craft. Also... I'm not sure on the total number of troops yet.. but so far, I would assume about 1-2 thousand currently standing outside the jungle, if I were to place a guess. I will say the more exact numbers once the other ships arrive.

The Raven flies back down and pecks near one of the Duskian soldiers and crows. It then looks up and flies back on the tree. Signals from the raven gave Xil and the Calivanthians a wireless transmitter.

Code: Select all
Dusk Soldier. Threat possibility.

The message spread and the Clockworks awaited for their ambushes. What made the Calivanthians more difficult to except is their well-known holograms. These holograms tend to play the mind of many enemies and cause serious confusion. If needed, it can be a possibility for the Calivanthians to use projected holograms of their enemies.

Dr. Sullivan tossed his cigar to the side when he was done smoking it. He let out the last breath of calmness and nods. He then walks within the middle of his city and goes into his sacred altar. There, lies the controls for the Planet's defense systems. "Just in case if they pull out their big infantry,..." he clicks on a yellow button.

Code: Select all
Attention all Clockwork X. Report within the depths of the jungle please. Any heavy infantry spotted shall you take down with extreme prejudice.

Large, scary units comes and sniffs the air. Duskians... and other enemy intels. They are formed of a human-like dragon with scales down on their back to their tail. Sullivan grins and shuts the box and walks back to his throne and sits. Xil, Shok and Czin looked at one another and walked over to Sullivan.

Code: Select all
Xil: "Master, you can't be serious?.."
Shok: "Indeed! We haven't tested them machines yet..."

"Then this will be the perfect time to try it. I will do whatever it takes to defend these invaders away from my homeland. They can't be allowed to taint my city." He looks down at them and stares for a moment. The silence was long. He then stands back up and stares out again. The wind brushed against his exposed black fur. The sun warms his heart.

War. He thought about quitting it for a while and switch to sone things else afterwards. And perhaps... that may happen after this one.

Just above, lands a HK Dropship on the lands of Aio. The ramp lowered and touched the ground. Brother's replacement, Vulcan, steps out of the dropship. His bulky armor clads as each stel he took off the ship. Following behind was his enhanced machines of Cyderdyne: 800s, 1s, FKs and HKs. He scanned the planet and noticed something... familiar.

Code: Select all
X-Net in sight.

It seems Brother's enemy, the Calivanthians, have taken samples of each of his machines and reprogrammed them; let alone defiled them with his technology. He looks down for a moment then turns to look at the rest of his "allies". If it meant taken Sullivan's city with the help of these... organisms then by all means he meant business.

Series 7Ts step out with their plasma rounds. The spider-like machines looked around the perimeter for any stealth infantry of Clockworks. It appears many were waiting to ambush the enemy. A single group of six went ahead of everyone else since they were the only machines able to detect infiltrated units. Vulcan thought this war should be easy then he least expected.

Dr. Sullivan's eyes turned wide at the sight of Skynet. He thought he got rid of Skynet once and for all. Apparently not all of them. "This cannot be..." he whispers as he looks over at Xil. He can't afford to loose Xil again like last time or he'll be crushed with rain of emotions.

"Xil, go.."
Code: Select all
Master? You can't be serious!

"I said go, Xil! Now!"
Code: Select all
But I... yes, master..

Without hesitation, Xil fled away from Aio and reside in another part of the planet far away. It wasn't the fact that Sullivan was angry with him. It was the fact to keep Xil safe and alive. Sullivan ordered to keep the Cyderdyne Empire away from his city. Knowing them, they'll turn his Clockworks against him.

Meanwhile, deep within the jungle, a turret node suddenly pops up from the ground and open fires at the nearby 7Ts. From above the trees came down Clockworks, using their sonic ability to forcefully push them off the massive cliff near them where the water resides. One launched its Heat Net and entangled the 7T. As the net encaves on its victim, it sends a violent burning sensation on its armor like acid until it shattered. More jumped up and awaited for more to press on by.

Shok flew to Sullivan in distress.

Code: Select all
Master, why must you care about Xil more then us? It seems to me you don't even have the satisfaction to love and Czin.

Dr. Sullivan sighs and looks up at her. "Its not that I love Xil more. Its just that I can't afford to have him destroyed. Same to you and Czin." he turns back to his enemies.
Code: Select all
I see. Sorry for the assumptions, Master.

The air fills the feeling of death and hatred. You could smell the beautiful water nearby, but more of a grass-like scent as well. You could also hear the distinct sound of a waterfall as well. Aio was a beautiful planet. Shadowtombs roam around the city walls while X-1s roam within the jungles. It seems Aio was a difficult planet to invade.

"Lord Shadow! We've detected a force entering the system. They're descending to the surface right now."
A Corporal at the temporary radar station looked up at Shadow as he finished.
Shadow turned instantly, nodding, and gave a quick order.
"Form up! I don't want these potential allies seeing a bunch of lazy slobs! 3 Ranks, 30 across, 22 Squads."
As the forces of Red Dusk rushed to form up, Shadow took his place at the head of the force, ready to meet and speak with the unknown leader.

Edge of the Aio System:
A series of small ripples appeared near the edge of the gravity well of the system, and after a moment of inactivity, they simply materialized into RDSC Transport ships. At the lead was a large ship, very dissimilar to every other warship in the RDSC. The warship had a faded name painted on the hull... RDSC Shadow Ascendancy.

A message was quickly sent to the Ascendant Phoenix, telling Shadow that the reinforcements had arrived. While the fleet under the Ascendant Phoenix was nicknamed Fleet Silversword, the fleet lead by the Shadow Ascendancy was nicknamed Fleet Pitchforks. Shadow gave the order for the two fleets to remain seperated until a proper orbital control altitude could be properly determined.

RDSC Shadow Ascendancy
25x Military Transports, modified forms of the Comet-Class Destroyer model
Ground Forces Numbering Aprox. 1 million soldiers (750 000 Regular marines, and 250 000 Spec Ops)
Various Equipment/Vehicles

Surface:
Shadow looked up at the droid in confusion, but after a moment, he realized that the droid was not a servant. The forces pouring off the transport were all droid...
Must be another robot race.... I really need to invest in finding out why they are always the ones that appear in this part of space... Shadow's thoughts were interrupted by the droid looking at him, and realized that the rest of the droids were advancing into the jungle.

Quickly, Shadow gave the order for the soldiers on the transports to be brought down to the surface, and for the rest of him men to prepare to advance into the jungle after their new found allies. Then he turned and saluted the droid, noting mentally to avoid making any stupid mistakes.

"Greetings. The name's Shadow, High Lord of Red Dusk. I'm assuming your here to ruin the Clockwork- I mean Calivanthian's day?"
Shadow then simply waited, hoping that he didn't screw anything up.

Horrid screams filled the air, a mix of burning men and groaning metal. The Glorians had arrived.

Thousands upon thousands of haphazard, motley pods had been launched from their one orbiting station, flung hopefully in the direction of their distant enemy. Most had missed. Of the ones that hit on or near the target, half had died in transit. A breach in the thin hull that hardly kept the heat and air in as it was, a broken instrument somewhere in some forgotten corner of the pod, or a crewman who forgot the fill the air tank- countless ways for the pod to fail. And of the ones which made it to their planet intact, even more found that they'd been loaded into an old model. One without heat shielding. With some, the shielding was plain inadequate, or sloughed off when they hit atmosphere, giving birth to a flaming butterfly which screamed with the voices of a thousand men. And then there was the impact. The only braking was that of the atmosphere and the ground, parachutes were costly, you see. Nearby bodies of water cushioned a few enough that they lived, but none were able to swim.

Those fortunate enough to find themselves raining down onto the jungle learned just how cushioning an ages-old tree could be when struck by a flaming hulk of scrap. All told, only two hundred and seventeen had survived the first launch, leaving just under that many thousand men forming up and arming themselves, razing sections of the jungle and eating the locals, be they wildlife or human life. They only had to survive and assault for a week, that was when the next wave would arrive, and hopefully more would survive that launch.

By lottery, 470713-B6 had been designated Commander of the Calivanthian Expeditionary Force, and as such only he had access to the primitive communications systems they had brought. He could faintly hear someone whispering, Greet... High... Dusk... Clockwork- day? Broadcasting his voice in all directions to any who would listen, Dash Bee Six attempted to make himself heard, dictating to the operator,
"I am the Commander, we are the Glorians. Point us to the enemy that we might add them to our stew."

Sullivan looked at the sky and gazed upon the incoming pods. He scoffed in a sarcastic happiness. The planet's defense systems came active and looked at what was left at the fallen pods with men inside. They begin to open fire with only a single beam, knocking some into a explosive frenzy in the air. Some managed to miss. What a pitty.

The Calivanthians tries for a puller. A villager with a bamboo stick across his shoulders carries two buckets full of fish. He didn't seem like a threat. More of a peaceful farmer. He then sits nearby Vulcan to rest as he sats his buckets beside him. Suddenly, the farmer's child came and hugged him, laughing. Without knowing the machine, the child gently brushes his hand across his metallic leg and tilts his head. Who would knew a villager would rest near a campsite.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet, Xil walks back and forth, pondering on what to do.
Code: Select all
Hm. I cannot go back. Otherwise master would kill me... there's gotta be something I can do to help just by standing here! Hm... Ah!

Xil walks over to the edge of the cliff and roared very loudly, enough to where the enemies could hear loud and clear. It seems the ground they stood on only shook temporarily then silenced. He thought that should put fear in some soldiers.

The Raven landed in front of everyone and open its beak. Sullivan began to speak once more.
Code: Select all
I'm growing impatient. You all keeping me waiting isn't going to solve your personal needs to take my planet. Survive and you'll reach me. Die and you'll be sent back to whence you came as a footnote to your nation's doorstep. Normally I protect the people, but when it comes down to Aio, I become serious. So what shall it be? Now or never?

The raven crowed and flew away again, landing on a branch of a tree to look down at them with anticipation.

Dr. Sullivan tilts his head back and exhales slightly. "I'm waiting..." he silently says to them.
"In an age of nothing, at a time when we stand at the brink of our own destruction, strengthen your belief in yourself, in the future of humanity, in the things of this world that cannot be easily perceived. It sad to say the T7s has failed their priority mission. Vulcan sensed Shadow walked beside him unexpected. Its known to be severely dangerous to walk upon a machine surprisingly. He then looks down at him.and growls a bit, giving a sign that signifies a little 'Yes' in response of his question. He then looks down at the farmer and child and tilts his head. He scanned them for any suspicious activities.

Code: Select all
Cannot reach signals. Please try again.

Vulcan then felt the child brush his armor and looked down. He then picks the kid up by the back of his shirt and looks at it as he turns him to left and to the right. Humans. Somehow it amuses Vulcan how humans live their lives rather than being a built machine programmed to eradicate the target of their choice. The wind whistles as it brushes against his shiny, titanium armor. He then looks in the distance at the X-Net. He has a feeling these X's won't go down so easily as the regular version of Cyberdyne.

In the meantime, more 7Ts and 800s walk out and scan the area for any signs of Calivanthian threat. It seems this alien race was very technologicaly advanced. Their cloaking devices seems to be foreign to other nations. But there has to be something to get rid of their cloak systems and make available enough to strike.

(I realized I GodModded in my post thanks to Dusk. I honestly didn't intend to do that... sorry, Dusk. Thanks for pointing it out.)

The boy just laughed and looked up at Vulcan and grins. "All shall perish today!" he shouted. He began to charge up to explode and the villager ran away, afraid the explosion may kill him and ruin his fresh cut of fishes. It was about time Calivanthians went on the offensive. Sullivan was tired of waiting.

The X VXs, those who stayed within the jungle, storm out of the jungle and slammed their powef shields on the ground in.front of them, preventing damage. No movement. The VXs decides to stand their ground and open fire with their Plasma Cannons that was attached to their right arm.

It seems the last battle Sullivan got into was his own bad doing. What seemed to irritated him most was Skynet's VXs. He couldn't believe how powerful they were at defensive operations. Even the bravest Tombstone couldn't surpass them. Guess Tombstone wasn't strong enough.

He sighs. He grows impatient with every given moment passes by because the fact no one has made a move. But Sullivan did. And it seems he was proud of doing it.

OoC: Its alright, dude. Mistakes happen.

IC:
Vulcan realized it was all a trick. He quickly threw the hologram towards the VXs before it detonates. Calivanthia wasn't the only one who had VXs. Skynet's version came running out and slammed their shields in front of Vulcan and Shadow, preventing any serious casualties. From behind them came Series 1s and 800s opening fire upon the X-Net.

Bullets ablazing and Plasma flying. Mhm. Just another typical warfare. The 800s managed to grab some of them and throw them across the ground. Some managed to knock some of the VXs off the cliff the what appears to lead to a lake at the bottom.

Below was the 7Ts being devoured by the machines residing within the waters. It appears their armor have been busted in and out like a drill. Water drips slowly from the faces as they lay there shutdown and offline from Skynet's systems.

Vulcan had no choice. He didn't care what happen or if the rest was going to help but he ordered all his machines to engage and take down Sullivan's city. Aio will be his one way or another.

Sullivan raised an eyebrow at Skynet's response. Their finally invading. "Their invading us. Guard this city with your life!" Clockwork Snipers take their aims for the right moment. The Shadowtombs split up into two groups of five. One group stayed within the city. The others went out the gates to prevent the invasion.

FKs and HKs hover above as they keep their aim for the incoming machines. The Clockwork X jumped from their location on the walls of the city. They looked over with their X-Ray vision and seen machines strolling through the jungle on their way. One of them.screeched like a banshee.

"Hmph. Pathetic." he called them. He still hated Skynet for what they've done to Xil, even though he's okay now. The damage they done was pretty brutal. It took Sullivan 4 weeks to fix him again all because of their long, dead leader of theirs. And from the looks of it, he seems rather pleased by it.

Shadow was stunned by the sudden attack on him and his counterpart. For a moment, Shadow stood still, blind to what was happening. As the robots advanced, he came back to his senses, and turned towards the divisions he had.
"Advance! For Red Dusk, and Freedom!"
As he was about to turn around, Shadow saw several dozen transports arrive, all bearing the flag of Red Dusk.

The transports landed with a heavy clunk on their landing gear. The bay doors swung open, and Shadow stared as dozens of Eliminator MK2's stormed off the transports. Seeing a different approach to invade, Shadow ordered the Eliminator's to form up at the head of the column, and for the men to form up behind. A second later, a squadron of Devastator Tanks rolled off the transports as well, quickly followed by nearly a division of Goliath walkers. A quick revision of his plan had the tanks set up in the middle of the assault column, with the 20 000 soldiers that had arrived positioned around them, and the Goliath's placed at the rear of the column, utilizing their ability to swivel on their 'waist' to allow for protective fire to cover the rear. Shadow ordered the Eliminator MK2's to blast their way through the jungle, to make a path for the soldiers and vehicles behind them.

As the column advanced, with 22 000 soldiers in the column, in addition to the vehicles, Shadow ordered them to fire on any Clockwork they saw. He was expecting tricks, as he had fought with Calivanthia in the past, and knew many of their tactics. With this in mind, he ordered the Ascendant Phoenix to scan the planet for the locations of the Surface-to-Orbit weapons detected during the initial scan of Aio. He wanted to get as many fighters and bombers down to the surface as he could for the assault on the Calivanthian capital, or else face heavy resistance.

"ADVANCE! FOR RED DUSK!"
The order rang throughout the Red Dusk Military comms. As Shadow listened with satisfaction to his men giving voice to their enthusiasm, he noticed a very faint signal from the upper atmosphere.

"I am the.... Glorians..... Point us to the enemy.... add them to...."
Confused, Shadow sent a quick, repeating message to the source, saying simply
Glorians. This is Shadow. Land at the source of this signal, There you shall find the battle, and then I shall point you to the enemy.

The message blasted through the weak machinery, almost killing the operator.
Glorians. This is Shadow. Land at the source of this signal, There you shall find the battle, and then I shall point you to the enemy.
The operator moved to tell the Commander, but realized it was pointless. Everyone had heard. Frantically piecing it back together he moved to record their reply.
"Already landed, friend. Drop pods. Can't locate signal. Impossible. Send co-ordinates. We will join your battle."
Setting that to repeat, the Operator scrambled to piece his equipment back together. Fortunately, a few squads had come in that hadn't eaten their Operators, so he had some help and spare parts. They wouldn't last too long, though, so he still fought to save whatever he could.

The Commander, meanwhile, did not care all that much about saving. Just that morning he'd executed fourteen men for getting in his way. The troops were already beginning their breeding program, though, so hopefully new men would be born in less than six months, assuming they lasted that long. He was hopeful about their long-term occupation goals. As soon as he had his hands on some proper equipment, he'd tell command to send some embryo-holders along with the next wave so they could make it even faster. The fort was coming along well, though, which was good. They'd managed to create an irregular enough surface that most cursory scans would miss them, but they still stuck out like a sore thumb to any on a stroll through the forest. He'd set some brutes out to gather logs, and a few grunts to pull up shrubs, so that should be remedied soon enough. The base was really rather small, altogether, but it only had to house a few hundred men. The command staff, the Operators, and the honor guard of veterans. The grunts would be on the move.

Shouting out to those who would hear him, the Commander started to mobilize the troops.

"Now, listen here! Spread the word! Any who find an animal, can eat it! Any who listen to me, get to live! You there, you lead Alpha Squadron, and you there, you lead Bravo Squadron. Split the troops between you two and report to me first thing in the morning."
And so the Commander went to sleep, knowing that a massive power struggle would follow, creating a fair amount of food for both of them, and strong leaders instead of the weaklings he had pointed out.

Already landed, friend. Drop pods. Can't locate signal. Impossible. Send co-ordinates. We will join your battle.

The message drifted through Shadow's HUD, and he quickly had one of his sub-ordinates calculate the co-ordinates of the landing zone using images from warships in orbit to quickly determine a relative PPS (OOC: Planetary Positioning System) grid for Aio. Once the grid was made, it was simple to send the co-ordinates through the communication system. Attached to the list was a side note, saying that the site was covered in a large forest.

Turning his attention back to the column ahead of him, Shadow smiled as he saw a few plasma rounds slam into the tree trunks in front, and the fact that a small flight of Gunships had arrived at the original LZ of the Duskian forces. These gunships he planned on saving until he needed to clear away the forest on either side of the column to expose the Clockworks he could already imagine were standing looking on, waiting for the order to shoot.

Near the LZ, a small flight of transports dropped off a peculiar addition to the assault forces. The Commander left in charge glanced at the vehicles being wheeled off, and had the file opened on his HUD.
'Project Rebirth: Model 1
Classification: 2AF4 (Nickname: The Warrior)
Role: Assault Tank

As a second type of vehicle was rolled off another transport, the Commander's eyebrows shot up, and he quickly read the data he had on it.
'Project Rebirth: Model 2
Classification: A4QF (Nickname: The Hellrain)
Role: Long-Range Artillery

The Commander immediately sent a live feed to Shadow, and hoped that he could get these things on the road to the rest of the column as soon as possible.

(OOC: RP Canceled)

Postby Red Dusk » Mon Oct 27, 2014 11:18 pm

OOC:
I hate to do this, but due to personal reasons... Calivanthia has had to withdraw from this RP. since the RP centered around him defending his planet, it obviously means that it is unable to continue....

As of now.... The RP will be declared as a draw/Unresolved, whichever you may wish to put down in your list of wars.
