All persons born, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of [state] and of the State wherein they exist. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of [state]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life or unlife, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the state or any of its political subdivisions because of mortal condition. All men and women are, by nature, free and equal and have certain inalienable rights—among which are those of enjoying and defending life or unlife and liberty, acquiring, possessing and protecting property, and pursuing and obtaining safety and happiness. The dignity of the human being, regardless of mortal condition, is inviolable. No person living or unliving shall be denied the equal protection of the laws. Neither the state nor any person living or unliving, firm, corporation, or institution shall discriminate against any person living or unliving in the exercise of his civil or political rights.
