Lisbon, Portugal

The Regent to the young King Afonso V, Duke Peter of Coimbra, sits in his chambers, waiting for his brother.

"Your brother, Henry, is here for you my liege."

"Send him in."

Prince Henry, known by the people as Henry the Navigator, walks with a confident air about him, towards Peter. They are to discuss Henry's specialist subject: Exploration and Colonisation.

"So, brother, how are we to proceed in Africa?" inquires Duke Peter.

"Well, my liege, I would usually suggest that we colonise the land of Arguin, as I have suggested on numerous occasions, but I am coming to the thought that this should be put off. Of we can launch a campaign into Morocco, and connect our holdings there to Arguin, it will be rather profitable."

"I can certainly order such a campaign. Consider it done."

To: John II of Castile
From: Crown Regent Peter of Portugal

It seems that our nations would do well to ally in opposition to the Muslim threat, which still lingers at our door. I suggest the betrothal of the young King Afonso to a relative of yourself, to secure such an alliance.

Signed,
Peter De Avis
Crown Regent of Portugal and Duke of Coimbra

London, England

King Henry was sitting in his throne room, with the English flag draped behind him. For nearly 100 years the English and French have been at each other, for who was the rightful heir to the French throne, and for the last 20 years, England has been loosing. Now Henry's attention was pointing North to the Scots, but with most of the English Army in France, and so, he decided enough was enough if he were to conquer the Scots, so King Henry summoned one of his diplomats to the throne room. The Diplomat bowed towards his king and begin to speak.
"How may I serve you my King?" the Diplomat said.

"I am sending you to France to discuss terms of peace between us and France, this war will bleed us both dry, and stop us from growing more powerful. This will document will tell you what you will offer to the French, and what we would like in return." King Henry said.

"Yes my King" the Diplomat said as he took the document and walked out the door, for Southampton to leave for France.

Bruges, Flanders, Duchy of Burgundy

The sun rose on Philip the Good's palace. An artist by the name of Rogier van der Weyden was presenting a painting to the Burgundian duke.

"Yes, this will do nicely for my purposes," Philip said as he examined the piece. "Thank you, Mr. Van der Weyden." Bowing, the Flemish painter then departed the court, leaving the painting to Philip the Good. At that moment, Philip's Chief Minister, Cardinal Michel Liganzo, entered the throne room.

"Your Majesty," the Cardinal asked the Duke. "Is the painting ready?"

"Indeed it is," Philip replied before turning to a scribe. "Scribe! Write this down and send it to Florence!"

I have heard the stories of your patronage, and I would like to applaud your generosity. To congratulate you on your nation's artistic achievements, and to improve friendship and cultural exchange between our two nations, I hereby present you with a painting, called The Magdalen Reading, made by one of Flanders' finest artists, Rogier van der Weyden. I hope you see the beauty in this piece, and treasure it as a masterpiece.

Tuscany,

The Tuscan prince had called for a meeting with his military strategist. He knew of the wealth of Italy, and the birth place of the reinassiance was his country. He knew he could make wealth from artists, and scholars. But... He wanted more, he wanted land, he wanted power. So he called the military strategist in.

"Take a seat." The prince pointed a chair. The Man sat.
"Now, I want to invade Urbino to increase out domain." He said bluntly.
The military strategist smiled, "Sir, we outnumber them greatly, so when should this commence?"
'I saw in a week, or so. Just quickly." He said, with a smile.

He dismissed the man, and went back to his work. He had the map of Europe. He circled, Ferrara, Mantua, Milan, Urbino, and The papal state. He wanted their land, and he dipped his feather in ink and went put the ink over the ottomans, Aragon, and naples. These were his rivals...

MUNICH
King Louis and his most trusted officials meet to discuss their plan to unite Germany under one banner. One of which officials is Lord Ascher, a beloved and respected General who led Bavarian Armies throughout Germany years before.

The plan is to use persuasion and manipulation to convince German Kings and Lords to join a united Germany, then remove their power. Diplomats have been sent all across Germany.

Buda, Hungary

After the recent passing of King Wladislaus III, in Varna, the Dukes and Counts of Hungary had unanimously elected General János Hunyádi, The White Knight, as King-Regent, until further notice. With a peace treaty in force, Hungary, Poland, Bohemia, Lithuania and Wallachia are now recovering from the destructive war... And as the largest Christian Kingdom in South-Eastern Europe, it is up to János to continue to strengthen and ready the Bulwark of Christianity against the cruel Muslim invaders from the South...

Regent Hunyádi's steward approaches him, in his personal study. As he reads over a map and is nearly tearing out his hair, from grief of the horrendous losses from the Battle at Varna and the war around it.

"Uram Regent... I'm here on your request... What is it, my Lord?" His steward says, cautiously.

"Ah, yes. László. Good you're here. I have called for you to take a look at a few of our strongholds in Erdély and Torontal. The one in my home, to be the first. Gyulafehervar. And then to Bacs and Pecs. I need you to look over them and give me a few estimates on how much it would cost to improve the castles. And I need you to go, right away. Lord knows when the Heathen Ottomans will strike again..."

Kingdom of Bohemia
České království

Prague, Kingdom of Bohemia
It was a warm evening in the city of Prague. People of importance from all over the kingdom had gathered in the main Landfrieden's' palace for a evening of dinner, dancing, and wine. The dining hall swirled with the voices of friends, lovers, and people of important who joyfully conversed and eat their food. The smell of fresh meats, rare spices, and finely cooked soups filled the room as the dinner progressed. The Landfrieden concluded the feast with a toast, one to Bohemia, one to the Austrian Emperor, and one to the mighty Holy Roman Empire. As the guests headed down to the main hall to dance and drink and socialize; The Landfrieden retired to his office, and rested his face in his heads. A thought cursed his mind like a plaque, preventing him from focusing on the joy of the evening. He wanted to invade the principality of Ansbuch, but two things remained in his way. Austria, the Holy Roman Empire, and Brandenburg, whose Prince-elector of the Margraviate, Albrecht III Achilles, was the ruler of Ansbuch. Bohemia would be crushed by the combined might of these nations, and his Kingdom would be desecrated and destroyed. He grabbed a piece of fine parchment, and his ink pen; imported from the Middle East, and began to write to Albrecht III Achilles.

Image

To: Albrecht III Achilles of Brandenburg
From: The anonymous ruler of Bohemia
Greetings, I have written to you concerning a topic that will be very important to you. You are the ruler of a principality which my nation is very interested in. I am speaking of Ansbach. I wish to have with you concerning the future of this principality concerning what nation holds reign over it. Brandenburg and Bohemia are both among the superpowers of the Holy Roman Empire, and we believe war between them would be catastrophic to the Empire. We wish to talk of a possibility of a duel rule over Ansbach, and a way both nations can have some power over Ansbach. The Kingdom of Bohemia invites you too Prague to have this discussion.

He handed the letter to his messenger, who ran off quickly. He then walked down the stairs to the party, which he now rejoined, with his mind partially eased.

Bohemian Germany
"Spears ready!" Shouted the Captain. The charge began. The cavalry came forward, charging the spears. "There charging from the side!" The soldiers tried to turn their spears, ending up banging each other in the head. "Drill failed! You lift the spears to turn!" The soldiers had been training for a cavalry charge coming from multiple sides, and they failed. "Start over!" The troops restarted. A rider on a horse came up to the Captain.

"The General wishes to see you sir."

"Alright. Well boys, you get the rest of the day off." The troops went back to their tents as the Captain went to the tent of General Strausmen.

"I need these men ready to fight."

"These men are an excuse of an army, they would be crushed by Austrian swordsmen or Polish Hussars."

"We are the only thing defending Bohemia, we are expected to fight well."

"Very well, I'll double my efforts. These men will live for combat. I will train them in Guerilla warfare. Make them prepared to engage a much larger force."

"Good, I need these men ready by the end of the month. Our army is small and would be trampled by our neighbors."

La Corona de Castilla y León

Toledo, Castilla
El Enero del 1444 AD

Reigning over the largest kingdom of the Iberian peninsula, Rey Juan II lived extravagantly. Not only was there a flood of Italian artists and philosophers to author interesting intellectual books to read, but 'twas the the Age of Exploration! Skilled mariners, trained mostly by the famous Henry o Navegador, sailed all over the ocean with exploratory fervor running through their blood. The Royal Court, funded by the immense amount of trade flowing through the Iberian subcontinent, was able to collect an assortment of these products of Renaissance. The Royal families, and their most honorable nobles and lieges, inundated themselves with intellectual ideals and arts. Along with these liberal arts, they also funded many marine projects. The most productive, and arguably the most successful, was the Expeditions off the coast of northwestern Africa. These projects not only vastly increased Castillan knowledge of navigation and seafaring, but also secured the Islas Canarias for the Crown.

Now, with recent authorization from their royal house, the Portuguese brothers were offering a royal marriage between the kingdoms of Castilla and Portugal. The two Iberian countries have almost always been brothers. From the Reconquista to the expeditions of Henry o Navegador, Castillans and Portuguese have worked tireless together for the benefit of all and the glory of God. Rey Juan II was delighted to hear of the news, and hastily replied personally, without the aid of a nobleman's page:

A: El Corte Real de Portugal
De: El Rey de La Corona de Castilla y León

El Rey de Portugal,

I have received recently your letter concerning the royal betrothing of a daughter in The House of Trastámara to the current reigning royalty of Portugal. While I am excited that your majesty has proposed such a gracious offering, I hope to delve deeper into the diplomacy between two brother kingdoms. Long have the Portuguese and Castillans worked collaboratively; through the hardships of the bloody Reconquista, the enlightening expeditions by the Prince Henry o Navegador, and even through the turbulence of the unsteady relations between our Alfonso and the Portuguese madame Maria, we have remained a similar people. With this in mind, I hope that it crosses your thoughts as well that the Portuguese and Castillans will promote and provide for the common defense, welfare, and economies of Iberia. Trade barriers between the mountainous Lisbon and the plains of Toledo should be eradicated, and the crowns ruling over the two domains should cooperate to benefit the people of Iberia, and not just our respective realms.

Let it be generally acknowledged, brother, that both our crowns are destined for greatness. Soon we may have peoples ensconce themselves, voluntarily, into our warm puissance. It will be through the seas we may attain this mantle, and our students, alumni, and professors from the University of Lisbon must be rivaled in mastery by none so that they may jointly defend our cohesive ambitions.

There is no room for divisions within our house, for then it may crumble down to ruins.

Cordialmente,
Juan de Trastámara

As for the Aragonese, the Castillans were together confused. Although it was the with the Aragonese that the Castillans and Leónese fought the marauding muslims of south Iberia, the Aragonese have long been rather hostile rivals with the Castillan crown. Debate has occurred, and still continues what to do with the Aragonese. Are they potential allies? or ever-strengthening enemies of the Catholic monarch? Only time may tell.

"My Knyaz, may you come to my quarters, we need to talk for a bit"
The Young leader got up and headed straight for the Diplomat's quarters.
"What is it now, can't you see I'm in the middle of a feast? Asked the Knyaz.
"Sorry my lord, it's just that I have a great idea!" The diplomat replied.
"I think that I should go and offer Tver the opportunity to become pur vassal!"
"Great!"replied the Knyaz.
After the talk, Knyaz went back to the feast while the Diplomat got on horseback and headed straight to Tver.

Berlin, Brandenburg

Friedrich II was looking at a map which was showing around Brandenburg's borders. He had been planing to get Neumark Region back from Teutonic Knights. Together with his generals, they decided declare war on Teutonic Knights but not yet. "We should first ready our soldiers to attack into Teutonic Knights. We should also not sent all of our troops to there since one of our neighbours can attack us" Friedrich said as last words of his meeting with his generals. Friedrich was planning for something hard to happen.

He got the idea from his dream. In his dream, Brandenburg was controlling from Danzig to Holstein, Stettin to Breslau. His dream ended when a war happened and Brandenburg collapsed. He thought of that dream for several days and finally decided. He would try to do some part of it happen.

Potsdam, Brandenburg

Military recruitments started in Potsdam. They were planing to reach about 3.000-4.500 after training is over. Main aim of it was to increase number of soldiers staying in Brandenburg in case of declaring war against Teutonic Knights. It would also start in Berlin shortly after. Tactics which would be used against Teutonic Knights. They were also getting trained for mostly defending self from attacks instead of charging.

"There are still some who can't defend himself" a soldier, one of trainers of the volunteers said to General. "Keep teaching them until they got it. We must have everyone trained. Even though there will be only a person left, keep teaching until he got it too" General said and dismissed the soldier to make him continue to train soldier.

Ansbach, Principality of Ansbach

Albert III looked at papers in his room. They were mostly about the things happening in Ansbach without one of them. It was coming from Bohemia. 'Should I go to Prague?' was what he thought after reading the letter. After thinking, he decided to give a try to it. He quickly got another pice of paper and ink.
To: Leader of Landfriedens of Bohemia
From: Albert III of Ansbach and Prince Elector of Brandenburg
I also agree with you on the fact that the war would be catastrophic and solving this without war would be the best choice and it would not be as costly as a war where hundreds will die. I will be coming to Prague to discuss it with you about this topic

Naples, De Facto Capital of the Kingdom of Aragon

King Alfonso V, the Magnanimous: King of Aragon, of Naples, of Valencia, Majorca, Sardinia and Corsica, Sicily, and the Count of Barcelona. Alfonso was the king of one of the largest kingdoms of southern Europe. Castile may have ruled over a vast majority of the Iberian peninsula, but Aragon had more of a reach in the Mediterranean, and, because of Aragonese possessions in the Italian peninsula, gave the Iberian kingdom more access to trade and wealth...not to mention access to the Papacy.

King Alfonso had taken a liking to the Italian city of Naples. He had moved his court there and dedicated vast resources to ensuring that Naples would be a glittering capital. And now, he was lounging in his seaside castle, watching the waves crash against the rocks below. Unfortunately, the rocks reminded Alfonso of the state of his country: fair Aragon was the rocks below, and the waves were France and Castile. While Alfonso was certain he could hold off Castile by himself, or at least, with the aid of Portugal. But France...France was a terrifying power. And God knows only all of the Iberian peninsula and England could hold off the French. And King Alfonso needed to hold onto his Kingdom and preserve it against his enemies. So, Alfonso wrote to the one person who could prevent a French alliance: King Henry of England.

To His Royal Majesty, King Henry VI of England,

Your Majesty, I write to you, in plain, to discuss friendship between our Kingdoms. Our Kingdom has access to trade in the Mediterranean which would help your Kingdom flourish. And for me, Majesty, a strong, wealthy England is good for us, as an increasingly powerful France is a threat to the security of the Kingdom of Aragon. So, we write to you asking for a pledge of friendship and trade between our two Kingdoms.

Signed,
King Alfonso V of Aragon, Naples, Sicily, Masorca, Sardinia and Corsica, and Valencia and Count of Barcelona

Paris, France

The English diplomat was riding in the carriage sent along with him through the streets of Paris, the capitol of the rival to England. As the carriage approached the Palace of King Charle's, they were stopped by a guard, luckily the driver was taught French for this trip.
"What's your business?" the guard said.
"I am driving an English ambassador to the Palace of King Charles, King Henry believes that this war between England and France has gone on for far to long."

Le Royaume de Chypre

The Kingdom of Cypress

Image

Nicosia, Cypress
January, 1444 the year of our lord

King John II (Or how he is formally titled: King John II of the Kingdom of Cypress, Armenia, and Jerusalem") was entering his twelfth year on the throne of the last surviving crusader kingdom. It was rather funny, he thought, that Cypress was never the intended target of the holy armies from England in the 12th century. The English crusaders were actually heading for the Muslim stronghold of Acre, but their ships beached on the island during a storm and, well... It was all history after that. Now he and his family ruled and he would be sure that the house of Lusignan would not fade under his watchful eye.

It was a cool January morning in Nicosia. The dry air swept into John II's quarters as he thrust open the door to his balcony and took in everything below. The sun had just peaked over the mountains, but the revelry welcoming the new year was in full swing throughout the nation, from Corycus to Paphos. John II was reluctant to attend his duties, but he knew the feast was to take place at noon, and after all, what is a feast without a king?

At noon the court priest offered thanks, and John II rose and gave a toast to the kingdom, so the feast could begin.

Friends. Emissaries. Countrymen.

We are joined today to give thanks to God for his providence and blessings towards our Kingdom during the past year, and to pray that he will continue to lay his hand upon our domain.

We have faced hardships, and we will continue to do so. Kings and Caliphs surround us, and eye us with contempt, but we will not falter. Even now, during these troubling times, we will prevail. We will hold steadfast to the providence of Christ.

Glory be to God! God bless Cypress! God Bless Armenia! And God bless Jerusalem!"

the crowd stood and applauded the King as he brought his annual speech to a close. It was the same thing every year, John II knew that. The Cypriots knew that. Hell, even the Ottomans knew it. Cypress was always bracing for the worst, yet miraculously surviving.

And all John II could do was pray with his people that the cycle would continue. He knew that fate was not a reliable ally, though, so he rallied within himself the strength to write to his brothers in Christ - The Kings of Europe. In the following weeks he would attempt to reach out to the war torn kingdom of France, but he did not think that would prove fruitful. Perhaps England, Castille, or Portugal? Could anyone offer the Crusader King reprieve?

Christian, looking out the window of his palace, was thinking of the common people. "I have to help them. They are my people, my subjects, my responsibility." He was thinking of enacting reforms, economic ones so the people would think of him as an able ruler and loyal king, loyal to the country. But he had plans for the military too, plans for acquiring Sweden and possibly Finland to create a Scandinavian Empire since he controls both Denmark and Norway. He taught of conscription, rapid weapon manufacturing, new doctrines and a stronger navy. But these were almost impossible with the resources at his disposal. He needed more iron, steel, coal and fuel. England is a trading partner, but this isn't suffice, he taught of France and Spain, but he was protestant, so decided against it. He sighed.

Later he went to his library and got a book of sorts, a book about past rulers of the Country. Denmark and Norway used to be divided. He was lucky to have such an empire, even if Greenland and Iceland were the only colonies he had. He was happy, content. But in his heart and mind he wanted more. He wanted power, absolute power, sacrificing the Nobility and Clergy if needed. He wanted the power to enact his reforms. And from that day on, Christian II would be the absolute ruler of the next Scandinavian Empire.

Lisbon, Portugal

Peter, Duke of Coimbra, and Regent to Portugal, had a lot of work to do. Firstly, the invasion of Morocco. This would have to be a surprise attack, and soldiers passing through villages could not allow anyone to live, until the armies had reached their three objectives: Tangiers, Casablanca, and Marrakech itself, at which point the Moroccans would surely surrender. The Earl of Avaranches was to lead the main army towards the enemy capital, whilst minor lords lead smaller armies to the lesser objectives.

Secondly, there was the matter of succession. The young Afonso V was yet to be betrothed, and this needed to be taken care of. There was the possibility of marriages into the families of Trástamara, or the House of Lancaster. If all else fails, a Hapsburg would do.

From: Peter of Coimbra, Regent of Portugal
To: Júan II of Castile

We would like to suggest a royal marriage between our King Alfonso and your daughter, Isabella. This would solidify our long-standing relationship in family connection.

Not long after sending out the diplomats to the other Bavarian Kingdoms, King Louis is notified that the Bavarian Kingdoms will join Louis in a unified Bavaria, and eventually Germany. However, many of his officials, mainly Ascher, feel that Louis is not suited to unite Germany. They now secretly plot to overthrow him.

The Bavarian People are overjoyed with the news of unity once again, but hopeful that the German People will no longer have to be divided and weak. Germans are powerful, Germans are strong, Germans are pure, and any who stand in their way of unity will be eliminated, for the Fatherland.

Florence, Tuscany,
Prince Cosimo de Medici of Tuscany,

Prince Cosimo was told of the declaration of war, and the mobilization of units. He smiled at this, he wanted his empire to expand, but not to fast. He told one of his diplomats "Go to Austria! We must become friends with the Holy Roman emperor, before it is to late!" So one of the diplomats set out. A messenger walked into his office, holding a painting, and a letter. He handed over the letter, prince Cosimo took the letter, wondering who it was from. He saw it was from King Philip III of Burgundy, he quickly opened it,

Sincerely, Philip of Burgundy

The princes smile grew wider, after reading the note. He went ahead and thought of Tuscany allying with Austria, and Burgundy. Two major powers of Western Europe at the disposal of Tuscany. Though that would make people fear him, he wanted the power. He began to write back,

To: Duke Philip III of Burgundy
From: Prince Cosimo de Medici of Tuscany

I happily ask your, the Duchy of Burgundy, the great nation of the west. In an alliance offer, and wish to see if you would assist me in the Tuscan Conquest of Ancona, Italy. Urbino has been a pest in Central Italy for long, the Papal state is still medling in Europe. I believe the Church should own Vatican, but not have outside lands! They have the thousands of men of Europe at their disposal. They waste it calling the "Crusades" Killing out men, sometimes for no reason! The major threat of Europe right now is the Ottomans, and they are threatening Byzantium! Constantinople is at major threat, as the Ottoman empire grows larger. We Europeans must band together, not under the banner of the pope. But under the individual banners of our nations, and fight for the glory of god! Not for the corruption of the church! Sorry for going off into a tadum, but I wish to ask for the alliance. I wish to hear from you again Great Duke Phillip III.

Sincerely, Prince Cosimo de Medici of Tuscany.

Stockholm, Sweden

The sun rose over the great city of Stockholm, where the peasants worked under the noble families of Sweden. For years, Sweden's king has been Christian II of Denmark. Many of the noble families were against the Danish king for the fact that at any moment he could try to annex Sweden. While Sweden was in the Kalmar Union, many wished for Sweden to be ruled by its own king. Each noble family had their own military that would serve them if needed.

While the nobles weren't ready to fight against the Danes and their Norwegian allies. While Sweden itself could easily hold its own against the Danes, the only thing keeping them from being able to win an official war is the division between the Swedish nobles. While each family wanted to leave the Kalmar Union, each believed that their oldest family member should be in power. Charles VIII, and his noble family, had the most influence in Sweden and was believed to become king if Sweden were to leave the Union. At the moment, many families were reluctant to support Sweden leaving the Union as it would bring Sweden to a war against Denmark and Norway.
Uh, they're called green hearts.

You racist.

Bruges, Flanders, Duchy of Burgundy

It was noon at the Grand Duke of the West's court, and Philip the Good was gathered with his top advisers: Cardinal Michel Liganzo, and the Burgundian duke's cousin Jean de Valois. "Gentlemen, I've been thinking," Philip said to his advisers. "I need some new allies. Specifically, some allies of the of the German variety."

"Explain, my liege," Liganzo replied.

"Simply put, I need some influence in the Holy Roman Empire in case I cannot count on France nor England. The Kingdom of Bohemia is a large, powerful, and enlightened land. They will be good for my purposes."

"Wise choice," Jean agreed.

Greetings, great ruler!

I have heard of the power of your kingdom, and I believe an alliance between our two nations would be fruitful. We both rule powerful and prosperous nations, and closer relations will not only increase the international influence of both our realms, but would also lead to great cultural advancement in our dominions. I implore you to consider my humble request, and should you still have any doubts or questions about my proposal, I would be open to a conference on the subject at the Coudenberg Palace in Brussels.

Sincerely, Philip of Burgundy

Kingdom of Bohemia
České království

Prague, Bohemia, January, 1444 Anno Domini
The main Landfrieden was awoken suddenly by his advisors who showed him a letter from the kingdom of Burgundy. The advisor quickly ran fearing he would face the wrath of the acting King.

"Ah, whats this." said the Landfrieden. Slowly openly the fine crafted letter. "Hmm, perhaps." He said to himself.

We are delighted to hear of this alliance, and we accept. We have a strong interest in the nearby principality of Ansbach, and it would be good to a powerful nation such as yourself to support our claim say we meet strong opposition. I currently cannot come to Brussels as the ruler of Ansbach is coming to Prague to discuss the situation. We hope you understand.

The Landfrieden handed his letter to a messenger who quickly set off, and then he went to his bed, where he returned to sleep.

Bohemian Germany
The General of the army of Bohemia marched in front of his massive army. While they where not the best trained in the world they where some of the most loyal and determined.

"Men, today will begin a new time of training, you will be trained in the art of guerilla warfare. We will begin practice of using hit-and-run tactics, using the environment, and the art of laying traps for our enemies. Just as the Iberian rebels once fought against the Roman Empire is how we will fight from now on. No more open line battles unless necessary. Everyone is to report to their unit commanders to get a more specific review on how to fight this way." He stopping pacing back and forth. "We are surrounded by superior nations, if we are to ever be in a war, we must know how to fight a much larger enemy." He returned to his tent.

Vienna, Grand Duchy of Austria
Holy Roman Emperor Elect Fredrick the III, King of Germans, and Archduke of Austria of House Hapsburg, Cousin to the Young King of Bohemia and Crown Prince of Hungary was a man of 29, was a busied and often unfocused, Which would be expected when being the King of Germans, Elect for Holy Roman Emperor, Archduke of Austria, and Dejure Head of the Unruly Hapsburg Dynasty, Not to mention the Economic Stress recently placed in the Hapsburg Treasury and Coffers of Austria, Fredrick concluded that if he is to assert himself as Emperor and ensure his power, not to mention have heirs, he would need to marry... and handle the countries that surround him that cause him so much annoyance.

The Campaign for Peace
Image
20,000 Bavarian Soldiers bear this flag as they march from the now united Bavaria to the west, capturing many small villages and towns before reaching the Kingdom of Heidenheim. While small, it has a military force of 12,000 well trained warriors. 6,000 Bavarians reach the city after skirmishes outside of it, and led by Lord Ascher, launch an attack on the city itself. Though outnumbered, the Bavarians would fortify what would soon become known as "Heinrich Hill". From this hill, the Bavarians pounded the city with catapults and arrows.

In the first day, 473 Bavarians died, but took roughly 1,500 enemies with them by nightfall. The battle would last 6 days and take 2,911 Bavarians and 7,865 enemies, and ended when Bavarian troops entered the city and killed the King. The victory would clear a path deep into southwest Germany. With the victory at Heidenheim, King Louis plans to peacefully bring Germany together.

Bruges, Flanders, Duchy of Burgundy

At around noon, a messenger arrived at Philip the Good's court. He handed the duke a message from Bohemia, then left. "Let's see here," Philip said as he opened the letter. After a minute, Philip announced to his advisers "the King of Bohemia has accepted my alliance." The Burgundian duke quickly wrote back.

Greetings, great ruler!

I am glad to hear of your acceptance, and I believe this alliance will be to the benefit of both our nations. Do not worry about meeting in Brussels; I only suggested the meeting in case you had any concerns about my proposal, but seeing that you have wholeheartedly accepted my proposal, there is no need for a meeting. I wish you the best of luck in the Ansbach situation, and may God bless the Kingdom of Bohemia!

Sincerely, Philip of Burgundy

OoC: NAR there's two things wrong with that post.
1. The Musket hasn't been invented yet, and the Ottomans haven't shared the Cannon with you yet.
2. If you were to attack smaller German State, the whole HRE would turn on you, from the Electorate of Brandenburg, to the damn Hapsburg!
