I have a fantastic idea for an RP inspired by Once Upon a Time, Grimm, and Happily Every After High... I'm talking about a modern world where fairy tales do exist, or to put it in better terms, a world where the characters did. A world where their decedents now roam with strict ties of fate enthralled in their actions, pulling them along certain paths. So, what say you, care to sign in to a secret world of magic, where one may ride the winds of fate, or do you dare tempt the winds of fates with your own course ?

The Setting

Avalon

Avalon is a mountain town vacation spot for summer visitors. Tourism has allowed the town to flourish, and after WWI it experienced quite the population boom. Despite being of city size it's somehow managed to maintain the feel of a small town. It boasts a highly organized, and very active city government. It's growth was not unnoticed by the county management, primarily the Superintendent of Schools who signed off on merger of Grimmsdale High, and Everwood Senior High into the new Avalon High School, having determined that such an arrangement would benefit those who had been attending the decaying Grimmsdale High, and those who had trouble reaching the halls of Everwood Senior High. The School opened last year.

Grimmsdale

Grimmsdale is south of Avalon near the footlands. It was once a mining town with a wealth entrenched in coal, yet once the mines started to run thin the town began to shrink, and business left her. Grimmsdale has a thick cloud hanging over it from the mountains, many say it's the dust from all the mining, and smoke from furnace flames, other that it's always hung there. Grimmsdale has fallen into rough times, with Avalon taking on most of the administrative authority; providing a police force, fire fighters, and other domestic services to Grimmsdale which has become something of a criminal hotspot, though by big city standards the crime tends to be mild; petty theft, and prescription drug trafficking.

Character Creation

Bloodlines

Animus

You've always felt hollow, wooden, like you were missing something. It may have taken you a while to realise, but you simply weren't like the other boys and girls. Instead, you are an automaton, a strange living puppet disguised as a human. Ever since you discovered this, you have felt an undying longing to try and become truly human.

You've heard stories of one of you who has achieved this, giving you hope. His name was "Pino" and you may have an almost spiritual reverence for him or at least a healthy respect. Though your not sure how he did it, so you and your kind pursue your methods to becoming "real", varied and flawed as they are.

• Living puppet: You are a living puppet, body not kept warm with comforting flesh and skin, but of some strange porcelain like material. As a result your body is able to endure more damage than any regular human, able to take blows that would end your fleshy human inspiration.
• Hollow: You are void of any true emotion, any feeling, any compassion. The only thing you can feel is jealousy of those that are truly human and a desire to join their ranks. As a result of your physiology you don't need sleep nor food, you never tire yet you can still reproduce with humans.
• Quicksilver Form: Contrary to popular belief, you can tell lies, in fact it's likely been your entire life. You can take on the form of anyone you desire, even become partially invisible. If you can't be human, at least make everyone be believe you are.
• Not a Real Boy: You look human, you sound human, you can reproduce like a human but your not one, and you know it. You would give anything to become truly human, anything at all to even get closer to becoming "real".
• Flammable: You are afraid of fire, horrified of it. As you are completely flammable despite your considerable durability.

Arthurian

The Arthurian line is traced back to King Arthur himself, and played a role in the founding of Avalon. The Pendragon branch of the line lives in a manor on Camelot Hill. Note: If you do play as an Arthurian you should avoid being a member of that house, unless you converse with Holy Empire of Avalon before hand.

• Holy Sword: Skilled in bladed combat Arthurians are said to "have the will of God behind them", any bladed swing by two Arthurian hands that is blocked will feel as if two persons are behind the blow, rather then one.
• Excalibur: Only those worthy descendants of Arthur Pendragon are said to be able to lift the powerful sword Excalibur
• Armor of God: As if the Multitudes themselves were protecting the Arthurians they are amazing in battle, almost with out focus they seem aware of their surroundings.
• Folly of Angels: Every Arthurian is destined to find one great love, and die for them.
• Knight's Honor: Arthurians have incredible will power and strength, provided they are fighting for a just cause or else all powers abandon them. If they fight for an unjust reason the traits of Holy Sword, and Armor of God are nullified for the duration of the bout.

Charming

Yours is a lienage of daring heroes, of good looks, drawn to damsel's in distress, afflicted by dark spells. The first Charming awoke the Sleeping Beauty with a kiss. The two where wed shortly their after, another, Avenant Charming, was not so lucky, though he did much daring for Princess Goldilocks she wed another, and he himself was put into a tower by the King, only to have the Princess, by then a Queen, free, and marry him after her husband's death. Another notable ancestor is said to have revived Snow White.

• Daring: You are prone to taking risks when the situation warrants.
• Charming: You are very attractive, and it seems that no matter your injuries, nothing can affect that smile of yours, and those glance catching eyes.
• For the Damsel: When someone who has caught your eye is in danger your the first to sense it. You may not know the danger, but what every it is, your ready to face it.

Children of the Bow

Yours is a line that can be traced to Robin of Loxley, a noble who while off on crusade, had his holding confiscated by the state. His father's rivals refused to return the land, and concealed Robin's identity. Those in control of his estate where under the ruling of King John, who taxed the peasantry with out concern, while lavishing those lords loyal to him with wealth. Robin saw this, and in disgust began a campaign to return the wealth taken from the peasants, by taking it from the lords. Robin continued till the return of King Richard the Lion Hearted, who like Robin had been presumed killed in the crusades. With the rightful king returned to the throne, the Kingdom's status began to better, and Robin's title restored (though he continued to keep the company of Sherwood forest). His latter exploits involved the rescue of Maid Marian, and his eventually barial beneath a tree in the forest of Sherwood, which he considered his true home.

• Forest Cover - When in the woods, you have a nack for using limbs, leaves, and high branches for the purpose of concealment. You also possess a fine directional sense, and will never be lost in a forest.
• Three Times Bullseye - You are never off in your aim, able to hit percisly where you intend to, however no matter how good your aim may be your shots will never hit an individual of good alignment. Good being defined in this case as being either generious or just (fair).
• To the Needy - Yourss a heart that goes out to the less fortunate then thy self. When coming into wealthy by any means your compelled to give a hefty sum of it to those unable to financially support themselves. Failing to do so would fill your heart with a nagging guilt.
• Companionship - It's hard to gain your trust, but when someone does you form tight bonds of loyalty with them. You are good in groups, and like organizations that have a sense of fellowship, rather then heirarchy.

Family Grimm

Yours is a mysterious lineage laced into the fabrics of a thousand tales. Fate has a loose hold upon you, as if part of the pen is with in your grasp. You have a sense, an innate attraction to that which is obscured.

• Your ancestors have been recording the secret world for centuries, chronically the lives of others under the guise of fiction. Due to this, you, compared to most humans, have a knowledge that escapes others. Access to a deep lore spanning thousands of years, lore you will know where to find, and how to read between the lines.
• Sense of the Grimm: You will be drawn to areas where lore is soon to unfold, and possess the ability to feel other beings around you, though with out obtaining the lore, you will not be able to identify them.

Huntsman

You are a Huntsman, but a Huntsman like no other. Your ancestor was a Hunter of a special kind, his quarry where bounties, and creatures of the night; hidden stalkers of men. He achieved great fame for his rescue of the original Red Hood, in all honesty, the girl was just their when he caught up with Old Greyhead, having finally acquired proof of the creatures deeds. This won him the place of Royal Huntsmen in the Grimhilde Royal Court, a position he enjoyed till Queen Grimhilde ordered him to kill her daughter, Snow White. A request he could not forfill, for Snow White was the most innocent of persons he had known. Thus he faked his actions, only to latter flee upon discovery of his fraud.

• Axeman's Aim: In your hands a melee weapon from an Axe, Bat, to Pipe can be used with near perfect aim.
• Punish the Guilty: You have an innate desire to see wrong doers meet some form of justice, or to get what's coming to them.
• Sight of the Quarry: You have an almost unnatural ability to determine the general direction of a living creature you have encountered in the last 42 hours. This allows you to more easily locate them.

Heir of the Wolf

Yours is a lienage of savagry, and lust; of predator, and prey. Your ancestor's name has long sense been forgotten, or locked away in vaults of lore. All he is known by, is The Big Bad Wolf, or Old Greyhead by his neighbors. He was always lusting for something; most often for prey. From sheep, pigs, to young women. The latter of which, lead to his demise, though not before he sowed a few wild oats.

• Beast Inside: Your human form is simply a guise to make those around you comfortable, secretly you are a being of the wild, a mighty wolf waiting for an escuse to bare it's fangs.
• Hunger: You have with in you, even if it's hidden, a desire for the taste of human flesh coupled with a low tolerance for the nagging feeling of the stomach. You have high metabolism, meaning that while you do need to eat a lot, you tend to burn off what you take in rather easily.
• I See Red: Red is a color that catches your eyes, for all other colors are dull to you (almost grey). Red stands out, which can be a positive, or negative.
• Rage: You have anger issues, and if your not careful might snap out at someone. Sometimes this anger builds inside hidden till it can be contained no more, other times it causes you to snap at the slightest of slant.

House Grimhilde

You are decended from a branch of German royalty with kinship ties to the Grimms. Grimhilde was a powerful house, known for it's beautiful woman, and even hand. That was, till one Queen whose first name has been lost in legend. Queen Grimhilde was a sorceress who wraught out punishment's of the cruelist degree in a bid for perfect security. When informed by a magic mirror, that peered into a world beyond that she was nolong the most even handed, and beautiful in the land; but that her daughter is she sinks to a new low, in vanity ordering Snow's demise.

• Brewing: You have an instinct when it comes to old time elixers, and potions; having a feel for herbs. When your mind is put into it, you can brew something that will work as you intend it to.
• Mirrors: You have a quaky trait for talking to mirrors, as if someone, somewhere on the other side can hear you. Almost as if another world exist behind the reflection.
• Way with Apples: Apples, for some reason, you have a sense when it comes to apples over other plants. As if Apples are something you can understand simply by grasping them. If you go into the planting of Apple trees you'll find you possess a gifted thumb, as they grow faster then they should, taking three, rather then five years to grow.

Musician

Your lineage is that of musicians, a passion for music like no other, attracting attention both good and bad, with an extreme affiliation to manipulation through music. Among the very first musicians, a piper, who was well-known in Hamlin for driving out its rat infestations. Next, a fiddler, who by playing his instrument attracted a company of animals, that he manipulated to get away from them.

• Natural: Gifted in the musical arts, you excel at playing a single instrument of choice.
• Beautiful Sound: Anytime you play an instrument of your choice, it plays such an alluring tune, that it attracts attention. Desired or not.
• Music of Command: Your natural talent with music has come with a metaphysical understanding of it's effect upon the simple minded from animals to children (5-13 years of age). With 'simple' notes you can have such entities do your bidding, no matter the cost to themselves.
• Scorn of the Ill Handed: You like to make deals, especially deals that allow you to preform your music as some service. Like any service, it comes with a price, and should any one dare not forfill their end of the bargain, your more then willing to take vengeance for receiving the short end.

Red Hooded

We'd like to believe yours is a line of victims, but this is far from the truth. Your ancestor was a pickpocket whose small frame, and girlish charms allowed her to be the perfect theif, who used her earnings to buy medicine for her aling grandmother. However, her abilities, and notable hood soon attracted the attention of old Greyhead, who obtained an unnatural longing for the girl. Only the Grimms truly know what happened that night, when the Wolf took the Grandmother's place. It's said that your ancestor was small enough to be swallowed whole, and that it was only the actions of a Huntsman who saved her. Other accounts speak of the Wolf, and your ancestor partaking in acts that would ruin anyone's innocents.

• Conceal: You have nack for hiding your face, and remaining out of sight. It's likely you where very good at hide, and go seek.
• I Want to be Noticed: You like it when people recognizance you, and are affected by this desire.
• Quick Heeled: You are able to change direction while running on the dime. Including a complete three sixty about turn with ease.

The Seal Maiden

You have the blood of Tom Moore and his selkie wife. You can trace their ancestry back to Ireland and benefit from various natural abilities. Various families can claim to be related to the Selkie wife, but the MacCodrum clan is the most notable. Your lineage is maternally passed down, located on the X chromosome. It occurs in both men and woman.

• Voice of the Coast: Yours is a marvelous singing voice, but much more. If only you where on the coast, yours would be a voice most an enchanting, joined by the waves, and breeze as if the sea it's self sings with the.
• Webbed Handed: You possess webbed hands, though the webbing is only a centimeter long at the base of the space between each hand, save when you enter water, at which point the webbing will extend half-way to the tips of your fingers, and tows. The rubbery flesh allows one to push water more effectively, making one a great swimmer.
• Sealskin Magic: Due to not having been born a seal, one of this bloodline lacks the ability to transform into one, unless one comes across the hide of a seal. Placing such upon oneself will cause a transformation into a seal, and upon reverting back, one will find them self in possession of a sort of cloak of which they will grow greatly attached to, and will always attempt to keep with them.
• Mammalian Empathy: People in this bloodline often feel uncomfortable among taxidermy and seem able to sympathize and understand mammals in a unnatural way.

Note: Mixed bloodlines, it is possible to share the traits of two different blood lines, but only two different bloodlines. When a character does share the traits of two bloodlines they receive all the traits held by both bloodlines, including weaknesses.

Upon his wall in a case is an ornate sword given to him by his father Arthur, legend has it that his father Uther and so on back to the very first Arthur Pendragon that sword had touched hands and only the worthy could hold it. Shrugging it off as legend Robert instead went for the practical combat skills, he enjoys rifle drill with Avalon High's Cadets. His presence during paintball competitions and such has proven very amazing. His athletics and cadet training all ended after he vanished from school one week and came back with babe in hand. He is held in the lowest regard by all who once knew him, some say he had a secret lover within the school that passed during birth, others say he had relations with a teacher, but despite the questioning of both students, teachers, and other community figures he refuses to give a name. This had lead to him being an outcast.

He often studies the military and hopes to join one day, but shrugs it off as to high of a dream.

Well, I'll place the Authurians under consideration, the apps look good. It's possible such a line may have a connection to the town, though as I know the lore, I have to consider the prophecy of Author's return, and determine weither or not the bloodline interferes... it actually shouldn't, now that I think about it. I once watched a film involving this kind of thing, so it's possible to include in this. I'll just need time to process the feature, to get comfortable with it. For the moment, I believe this is workable, yet somehow the current Robert app fit the old concept of the Huntsman better.

Well, I'll place the Authurians under consideration, the apps look good. His presence during paintball competitions and such has proven very amazing. His athletics and cadet training all ended after he vanished from school one week and came back with babe in hand. Bio: Jay was born to an average, loving family. Unfortunately when he was eight an unknown murderer came into his house. Before the murderer (who calls himself mister X) came into Jay's room, his mother told him one secret, and one secret only. He is descended from King Arthur. his mother then proceeded to hide him before mister X entered the room. Skip forward four years, Jay is in the midst of becoming the most successful thief in Avalon. Not that he steals the money for himself, he takes it to help the poor people in Avalon. A frequent friend on his adventures is James, who is rumored to be a descendent of Robin Hood*. Jay has considered several times about the prospect of going up to the pendragon's and announcing that he has the same bloodline as them, but has decided not too, as he thinks that they will reject him due to the fact that he steals money (even though it's for a good cause). Skip forward another four years, Jay has found a journal written by his father stating that he is a descendent of red riding hood. Suddenly, as well as helping the poor people he is starting to search for other Red Hooded people, sure that they won't reject him.

Bio:

Clayton never knew his Red Hooded father who disappeared not long before he was born. For a while he was raised alone by his single mother who hailed from the Family Grimm decent. Around his third birthday his mother married to a distant cousin, another member of the Family Grimm.

Behind the closed doors of the decaying Grimmersdale Public Library there is a hidden vault located which contains a multitude of secret books reserved only for members of the Family Grimm, to which Clayton has access to; from which he learns much about the hidden world and researches his ancestors. However he feels disillusioned at the idea of predestiny and wishes to take control of his life, and to an extent desires to live it out normally.

His Red Hooded heritage has given him slightly feminine facial features, especially his eyes which while charming make him feel slightly embarrassed about it. He also possesses an innate desire to stand out which conflicts with his other desire to live a normal life. He is light and agile, as well as a fast runner and a quick thinker from his mother's side, though weak when it comes to raw strength.
