So, I haven't seen any RPs based on the Salem Witch Trials, so I thought I would be the hipster in the room and make one. In this RP, the Witch Hunt has just began, and the town of Salem is full of hysteria. The citizens are frantically accusing one another for witchcraft, all because of this woman named Abigail Williams, who was caught dancing out in the woods with a group of girls and a black slave named Tituba. Since the society is Puritian, this kind of behavior is prohibited. These girls were going into the woods to give Tituba a flower for a love spell, which would make the men they loved fall for them. This was all in good fun, but then Abigail, out of desperation for farmer John Proctor, she slammed a chicken that Tituba was paid with and drank its blood.
Abigail's uncle, Reverend Parris, came not too long afterwards and caught the girls. The next morning, the whole town was accusing her of witchcraft. They were mostly Parris' rivals for the head of the church, and thus power over the town. This gave way for Parris to put together a new scheme. You see, his father had willed off much land to him that did not truly belong to him. Parris had Abigail accuse his rivals for witchcraft, beginning the panic of the town as more and more people were accused. After so many accusations were made, panic began to take hold as John Hathorne, the head judge, sentenced so many people to life imprisonment if they would not confes for witchcraft, which was punished by death. The only amount of evidence ever presented was Abigail's word.
