Introduction:
Greetings.
If you are reading this thread, then you are here because you were either invited, pressured into joining, or bored out of your mind and decided to click the vague thread title and poke around a bit. Regardless of how you ended up here, let me be the first to welcome you to this little RP thread. This Cold War scenario has been in the works slowly for some time now, and hopefully all the larger details have been worked out by this point, which should hopefully allow for a smooth transition into the actual RP itself, which will be posted at a follow up times once a few more things have been worked out here in this thread.
Background Story:
Starting in early 2014, The Dominion entered a proxy/cold war with the nation of -The Trade Federation- after they found themselves on opposing sides during a foreign conflict. After this particular conflict was resolved though, the two nations still found themselves at odds against each other, thus starting a Cold War of sorts as both sides sought to out maneuver each other on the international stage over several small proxy conflicts. Finally, after the latest round of saber rattling by the TF against The Dominion, President McBeth had finally had enough from the smaller nation and issued an ultimatum to either cease and desist or face the consequences. TF refused to back down, thus turning the cold war hot as war soon followed.
The Rules:
1: Thread is MT.
This shouldn't have to be explained, but some people don't get it. As such leave the Lazers, power armor, Halo Super Soldiers, magic, and other such nonsense at home. If you can't at least prove feasibility of your thing with RL counterparts or scientific data, then don't bother using it.
2: No Wanking/God Modding of any kind allowed.
This includes (but not limited to) Number wanking, teleporting, time wanking, refusing to take casualties, ect ect. Doing so, then arguing with those who bring it to your attention will result in a kick from the thread. I have very little tolerance for those who do this repeatedly as to me it's a failure to want to grow as a role player by learning from ones mistakes.
3: No Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Weapons without prior consent!
I absolutely hate people who join a thread and within a post or two are threatening nuclear war. As such, these weapons will be allowed, however they will be heavily restricted in their use. In order to use these types of weapons, you absolutely MUST have prior opponent consent before you can even arm/launch the weapons publicly available in the OOC thread here for everyone to see. So for example, If player A wants to nuke player B, Player A must ask for permission in this thread prior to doing anything IC regarding it. If player B agrees and gives his consent, then player A can continue on and launch his attack. If player B refuses, then tough luck for player A as he needs to go back to the drawing board and get creative. However, if both sides agree to an attack, then logically player B has full right to retaliate however he sees fit/is capable of depending on the situation.
4: No Ponies.
Sorry Bronies, but this thread isn't for you.
5: All Accepted Nations must provide a map of their nation.
Maps make things easy for everyone involved. Accepted nations maps will be uploaded to the OP here for easy access by all players.
6: All strikes and deployments will contain Orbats.
This will be done to help prevent people from pulling forces/munitions out of thin air. Orbats will be provided every time someone deploys anything or launches a strike, to make keeping track of things easier for all parties involved.
