Many of us here play video games, often times we play them online with other people because deep down inside we are really just self hating and/or masochists. I say this because every time you play online with the general public you are bound to run into at least one person that will take all the enjoyment out of the game and instead turn it into a rage inducing experience that makes you wish you could reach through the intertubes and throttle them! Here are the types of gamers I hate...

NooB
NooBs are not to be mistaken for Newbies. A Newbie is fresh to the game and has never played it multiplayer before or only once or twice and just doesn't know certain things but if people are patient they'll quickly get the hang of the game. A NooB however will continue to behave like a Newbie long after the 'acceptable cut off point' for the kind of play behavior they exhibit. NooBs either can't or (more than likely) won't learn how to play the game and as a result are just a hindrance to the overall experience whether because they are always getting in the way, always need another player to take them by the hand, or always blaming everyone else for their lack of ability.

DJ Faux Pas
A lot of people playing online use microphones which is fine since in a lot of games communicating with other players is an important part of gameplay but keeping that in mind there is one particular type of player that metamorphizes their mircrophone into a weapon of mass aggravation. I call those types DJ Faux Pas because they are busy broadcasting their specific brand of moronitude to all within hearing distance. DJ Faux Pas can be the person who actually thinks they are a DJ spinning tunes for everyone on team chat to 'enjoy' while he or she hogs the airwaves and prevents anyone from communicating or strategizing with each other, seriously hindering the team's ability to play, and often ending up causing a lopsided defeat. Those guys are at least trying to liven things up which is more than can be said about the majority of DJ Faux Pas out there though! The one who has their volume turned up so high that every sound they hear is echoed once again through their microphone and back into the communication channel to create a never ending loop of increasingly grating sound effects until you finally get to mute them (after you die), or the one who is holding a conversation with people not playing the game but refuses to turn their damn headset off thus sentencing you to hear about their mom's pudding like bowel movements from twenty minutes ago while making team communication all but impossible. Its important to note that DJ Faux Pas is distinguished by the fact that they will stop if enough people ask them to and if they persist they are a troll in disguise.

The Troll
Some people just can't be happy until someone else is miserable and so they will say or do ANYTHING to make that happen. They come in several variants - the team killing fucktards, the guy who shouts abuse at everyone, the person who blocks their team members from doing anything (or gets killed by them on purpose to cause them to lose score), and many many other varients up to the point where there are more subtypes of troll than there are cold viruses.

The Griefer
A special type of troll that deserves its own little subtopic. A Griefer is a really specific type of asshole that takes delight in ruining the progress made by other people in whatever endeavor and they flock to games where progress is persistent like flies to excrement to gleefully destroy whatever work other people have put into their game. The guy who lines your Minecraft castle with TNT and sets off all the fuses at once or the one in (insert nation/city building game here) that attacks your creation with his army until it is naught but dust and dead pixilated bodies. Double plus points for the Griefer if it cost you actual real world money for the things they just smashed.

Consummate Ragequitter
One thing that this gamer can be counted on to do is quit midgame for whatever reason. As soon as things don't go the way they insist they should the Consummate Ragequitter will quit the game so fast it leaves your avatar's virtual head spinning. Often times this gamer will hurl some choice verbiage of the angry/abusive sort before popping out of the session so that they can quit at something else.

I'm sure I can come up with more later but right now I'm low on time so I will yield the floor to everyone else - what kind of gamers do you hate?

Pokemon fans who think they can criticise CoD for 'Making the same game'

People who try to wade into the 'Pc vs. Console' debate then get really salty when facts are used against them and start screaming 'OH YEAH, WELL I JUST PREFER IT OK!'

I hate Team killers and griefers with a passion.

Regequiters are just hilarious for me.

But one particular group i hate are Elitists.

I dont give a fuck if one platform is better than the other or if you prefer one over the other, dont try and ram it down other peoples throats, let them play what they want on what they want to play it on. I lose braincells every time i see an argument from the "console war" or other similar things.

This also applies to games themselves as well, and people who act like assholes to others because they dont play certain games, though they are less common.

There is one subcategory of Trolls i do like, the Counter-Troll.

His mission is to locate the Troll and get him to rage using his own tactics against him.

These two. Luckily I don't play Japanese games and in the second case, I just troll them by pulling the kills right under their nose. Works like a charm.

Mingebags

These are considered only to be on Garry's Mod seeing as their kind of activity is specific to the game

"MingeBags" were players who either through choice or lack of knowledge did not change their name back in the days of Garry's Mod 9 which was the default name and where the nickname originated from. They would usually join a server and spam the spawning of large objects often crashing servers. However prop limiters prevent this nowadays. They would also destroy or interfere with other players creations. These people, are of two "Classes" the generally innocent newbies and those who are out to ruin the fun of everyone else.

Generally there is no time to tell the differences between the two and rivalries occur between players and "MingeBags" resulting in the server becoming a Deathmatch.

Killfarmers

My personal nickname for a class of gamer I despise. Basically, in any team-based game where teamwork is not directly linked to your survival (ie, GoI, where you can't really leave your crewmates behind) there will always be idiots who prefer to charge ahead and rake up useless kills while their allies are being slaughtered. This sometimes ties in with camping, in the situation when a guy just camps in one useless place sniping off enemies while his allies are desperately trying to hold off an enemy attack. The worst bit is, they still end up profiting even when they lose. Planetside 2, anyone?

Healgriefers

Subcategory of Griefers. They run classes that are healers and go around healing the NPCs you are trying to kill, thus creating a no win situation for yourself. If you engage the healer, you gotta deal with NPC aggro on top of what the healer can do to you, and if you ignore the healer, you are going to die to NPCs.

Warmedics

The opposite of the above entry, Warmedics are players who take healing classes and then never heal anyone, whether out of griefing or legitimate tunnel vision. Rare if the healer class is only useful in the category of healing, but oh-so-common in games where healing classes are given reasonable combat abilities (Warframe, TF2, Planetside 2)

I know someone said it before, but I fucking hate elitists. I hate them with a passion. They're the types of douche bags that are so good at a game that makes you question rather:

A. Are they hacking/cheating
B. Do they have a life

Now, being really good at a game alone doesn't qualify you as an elitist. What qualifies you as one is if you go on your damn 50 Trillion+ $ mic to brag about how your k/d is forty four times more then everyone else due to your own insecurity about other stuff or just pure arrogant bragging. They are annoying as shit about how their k/d, win/loss, or just how good they do that round. Another thing that is unique about them is while they do it sometimes to piss you off, some of them are genuinely expecting everyone else to be impressed by their no-life-gaming skills when in reality they just piss you off due to their lone-wolf style arrogance. If you are an elitist, go fucking tell yourself all you want about how great you are and how your on sixth place on the world leaderboard. Hell, to get it out of your system, go quickly masturbate to your k/d, but mute your mic the next time you wanna tell everyone else about it.

The people who think PC/Xbox/insertconsolenamehere is better and everything else is inferior. Each console has their pros and cons, thus people have different preferences, geez. I hate console wars. This one is pretty unavoidable, especially on PC games, but I also hate that one guy who lags the server for everybody else.

Oh yea, I also hate when I'm playing a game like TF2 and even after calling the Medic countless times they won't heal me. There's more than one person on the team, dude. I usually play Medic and certainly I try my best to ensure everybody on my team is at full health before entering an assault against the other team rather than just one or two players.

More of an, "in the flesh thing," but it always warranted a facepalm when I'm trying to play a story-oriented game (like Zelda, for example) with someone, only for them to skip over the dialogue really fast without warning because they "just wanna get to the shooting" or something similar, when it fact we needed that dialogue to understand what to do. They then proceed to ignore my insistence that the text was necessary, and then half-way in the level, bitch at and ask me a million questions because they don't know what the goal is supposed to be.

K/D and W/L doesn't actually measure how good a player is in most games I've played. What measures a good player is consistence and reliability. I've noticed that the top K/D guys are hardly reliable at all; they excel personally but their teammates suffer so unless they are getting insanely good kill scores they more often than not cause a team to lose.

I should say right now that while their type of gameplay isn't exclusive to Call of Duty, out of all the games I've ever played, I've only seen them in Call of Duty games. So if you don't play the festering mess that is CoD, you can practically assume that you're not a "Tank".

Without further a do, what is a Tank? I called them Tanks simply because they act seemingly impossible to kill now matter what goes down. They're the type of people who use a Riot Shield and C4 or other high-explosive Device (Such as IEDs, Bouncing Betty's, etc.) These assholes ruin the game in the fact that they are cheap for many reasons. Firstly and easily, they can easily spawn kill you. Secondly, you can't face them. If you go against them, they'll just be a "Tank" and take up all your bullets with their Riot Shield and once you're vulnerable (like reloading or running away) they'll through a C4 at or near you and kill you instantly. Many times, they camp in corners and often have flat jacket, which makes your explosives practically useless against them. They are so fucking cheap for the fact that they camp, they take up bullets, and as soon as you're smart and run away or attempt to take cover or go after them, they insta-kill you with C4 or IEDs. They ruin the game because their gameplay style is so-damn cheap and abusive to the game's mechanics and the way it plays. It should be noted that using the Riot Shield alone is okay. Using C4 or IEDs alone is somewhat okay. Combining them is not okay.

If you've never played CoD, or never experience someone with this play style, you do not yet understand what true frustration is like. Especially when there is no respawning.

If you are someone who plays Call of Duty with a Riot Shield plus C4, stahp it.

I'm usually cannon fodder in that I die constantly while getting few kills, but I generally don't care since in most of the games I play there's further objectives to fulfill as a team(such as TF2); as long as I'm helping out my team by completing the objective I don't care much if I only get a few kills.

Not much of an online gamer myself, but from my limited experience Trololo or Haddaway's What Is Love are two of the most popular tracks favoured by this cliche.

Everyone camps. And by everyone, I mean real soldiers. The American Revolution would never have been won by the technologically and materially inferior US had they not camped and used other dirty tactics.

I'd much rather be killed by someone who knows how to hide well and not die than by a guy just running rambo.
