Spanish is NOT a "foreign Language;" it was spoken on the shores of what is today the United States some 40 years before English was.
Americans inability to speak more than one language (and they don't speak that one well) is an EMBARRASSMENT before the world and an indictment of our culture.

Although I personally support America making English and Spanish dual national languages.
Canada does it after all with English and French.

English is the national language of America. I also don't think foreign language classes should be exclusively in the foreign language. They should teach you the language using both your native language and the foreign one. What do you people think?

Which part of America? The French speaking part? The Spanish speaking part? The Portugese speaking part? Or the English speaking part?

There are more Hispanic people in California than there are any other ethnicity. California recognizes this and therefore makes Spanish an important language to learn.
In short, life is unfair, quit bitching about it.
