The Elder Scrolls

Postby Chadicia » Tue Sep 02, 2014 1:56 pm

In this thread, I want to hear your favourite adventures from the Elder Scrolls series. Those little moments and adventures that seem unique to you or the character you were playing at the time.

Wether that be main quest, side quest, radiant quest, or not even a quest at all. From the rolling hills of Cyrodiil to the snow-caped mountains of Skyrim to the ash covered fields of Morrowind, we ride.

I was once walking near Whiterun and I see my fellow Stormcloaks being bound by those Imperial milk-drinkers! I walked by them as would any other fledgling adventurer, and passed iron daggers to the prisoners, then joined the ensuing fight.

In Oblivion, I had just finished killing a bandit in his own camp, drank a bit of booze lying around. Got drunk, went to sleep, and a couple of minutes after I wake up, a conjurer just pops out of thin air into my camp. Fun

This belongs in Arts and Fiction, pal. I'll send out the beacon for them to move it.

My favorite game of the series is Morrowind, I have some fond memories of that game (mostly involving mods). I had this badass knight character with a really snazzy looking laser-guided armor-piercing revolver, and I killed Darth Vader with it. I also killed Dagoth Ur with a bazooka.

Morrowind is the best. The main quest is much better than Skyrims, and Dagoth Ur is a much better villain than Alduin.

Oblivion. I'd completed the DB questline (far superior to Skyrim's since it actually needed you to be sneaky), and 'completed' the Thieves Guild questline (failed at stealing the Elder Scroll) when I found Aleswell.

Thought that it would be easy, for a decent bit of gold.

Then it happened. I used that scroll, and bam. -25 luck curse, with a infamy of 68 and a fame of 7.

And so began the quest to redeem myself enough so I could use a Altar of the Nine to rid myself of that curse, which required me to do the entire Fighter's Guild questline, then Kvatch before I could redeem myself and get rid of that damned debuff.

In Oblivion (modded), Azzan and I went adventuring together like the Fighter's Guild badasses we were. I was fighting to close an Oblivion gate when he fell off a tower and into the lava far below. I understood the importance of our quest so I continued without him. I made it to the Sigil Keep and took the Sigil Stone, effectively closing the gate and leaving Azzan behind. The saddest part of it all was that I was unable to complete the Fighter's Guild storyline -____- I needed Azzan for the contracts.

I played them all (except for ESO) and I must admit, that Morrowind is by far the best, not only among them, but aspiring to be the best RPG ever. None other game had the atmosphere.

Never got round to facing Dagoth, I loved how you actually had to find your way around in Morrowind
Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing
