Duck Dynasty should be banned

Here are my in depth reasons

1. This is more if a personal reason, it makes people from my state look like a bunch of red neck hicks. Not all Louisianans are a bunch of uneducated hicks.

2. Now a real legitimate reason. It teaches people to homophobic! Bare with me here, but people look up to these morons. People that I know that had no opnion of homosexuals or the lgtb community suddenly came out violently against gays because that racist hick Phil Robertson came out as a bigoted homophobic. It may seem like a stretch to some people, but I've seen it first hand.

3. They force their religion on people. Every single episode has some Zionist or Christian message. Need I explain further.

4. It makes crime look fun. In several episodes, the Robertsons get in trouble with the game warden, laughing the whole time and having a calm and collected attitude the entire time. Then, they get away with only a slap on the wrist. It looks as if they are glorifying breaking the law.

5. Violence and gore abound. I wouldn't want my kids exposed to some maniac skinning a duck in a highschool classroom. That, and do we also have to kill a squirrel on camera and kill ducks constantly.

6. People idolize these idiots. Anything they do becomes popular. Homophobia, racism, and violence are not trends that need to be increased

Duck Dynasty is a TV show, so I would encourage all watchers of TV shows to not watch shows they disagree with and to convince others to avoid certain shows.

I would disagree and really hope it isn't banned. I enjoy the show and feel your reasons, while fair, are slightly over exaggerated.

1. Only the ignorant would think an entire group of people are the same. That's an unfair assumption and anyone who agrees that all Louisianans or people of any other state are the same, should just be ignored. There is always diversity in any group.

2. If people are easily persuaded from what most people would call an uneducated redneck then those people never had their opinion to begin with and sided with the first stance they were introduced to. People don't take a side and suddenly switch sides unless they never had a strong stance to begin with.

3. I agree, every episode has a Christian message but, I don't see them as "forcing" their religion. I think they just show their lifestyle and what they make of it and it's more about them expressing their own religion which everyone has the right to do.

4. Breaking the law certainly shouldn't be looked at as fun but, most of what they do is more childish and immature. Can you imagine them getting the death penalty because they were on a golf course after closing hours catching frogs. As stupid as it is, its a small thing and I don't think it's glorified. Pretty much every southern person has a story about "screwin' over the law!" It's common enough.

5. As funny as it was, skinning the duck in class was a little too much. In his defense, those were high-schoolers weren't they? I've dissected pigs and such in school. His example was more bloody than a school lesson but, surely it isn't worth calling him a maniac?
As for the killing of animals: Its that particular families culture. They identify with a man getting his own food rather than going grocery shopping. This makes them look more like those paranoid extremists who are preparing for the end of the world every day but, it's their culture of being self-sufficient and I say let them be. It's not like someone's going to go over to that family and tell them they can't do that, if someone did then there really would be an abundance of violence.

6. People should definetly not look up to Racist homophobes but, their expressing their opinions and we can't decide what they say and if people want a show of those people then I say give the people what they want. And as I said, people who look up to them for negative trends, probably already had those type of thoughts and so are more or less, identifying with like-minded individuals.

I personally think the shows funny and your reasons for why it should be banned are about how others take the show. If people look up to and convert to Rascism and Homophobia then they were too easily persuaded by a TV show and are probably not worth trying to convince that those thoughts are looked down on. I say let the show stay.

While I came to not like the show for the above-mentioned reasons, I do not believe that banning it would be any better.
