Woman and The Draft

I find it very difficult to believe and support woman who cry out for all sorts of equal pay and etc etc, yet they immediately then say that they dont think they should be drafted. I find this highly contradictory and chock full of BS, how about you people?

*EDIT* The group I'm referring to is a few individuals I have spoken to, so is it the norm that women believe themselves except from the draft and if so, why is that? This edit is due to some confusion in the discussion

My opinion, I really don't fucking care it's not a big deal like at all so I don't see why people get bent out of shape about it. Were always going to have people like this not point in us bitching and moaning as much as they do.

Well, its more from my own personal experiences from the few woman I have talked to about it, I'm not sure there is really "evidence" either way.

You may not think its a big deal but it kinda is since its a huge example of hypocrisy, they want equal rights and opportunities?

Fair enough, but since the draft will almost certainly always exist, its better to treat everyone the same in regards to it no?

Things change pretty radically over time - so it won't really do to say that it will almost certainly exist. Plenty of countries have different systems. Campaigning to make more people subject to an unjust thing for the sake of "equality" seems a lot less useful and coherent than campaigning to stop the unjust thing in the first place.

Basically, I'm not saying I like or support the draft, but I do feel that if men have to do it, and women have been asking for full equality, why shouldn't they as well?

I don't think anyone should be drafted, but if they are, women shouldn't be excluded just because they're women.

But it would give them more equality and put them in the same boat, as being conscripted during a war is the worst time to join the millitary if you like life.

I'm sure, but the US doesn't seem especially likely to conscript anyone at any point in the foreseeable future.
