More to come when I'm not so exhausted...
In its efforts not to look like the oppressive dictatorship many have accused it of being, Lazarus is in the process of purging the host of their forums. After Hobbes made fairly supportive comments about independentism, Funkedelia moved unilaterally to amend the constitution in order to change forums and remove Hobbes as the host. This represents but the latest of moves by Lazarus in order to stamp out any hint of ideological differences, in particular sympathy with independents and democracy.
Furthermore, a former citizen of Lazarus discussed in length in a regional newspaper how Lazarus had been engaging in the suppression of forum posts via their destruction as well as the ejection of Funkadelia's Vice Llamas for supporting democracy. Now, it has been stated by Government members of Lazarus that this was done because they were operating in secret. However, a current and long-term citizen of the region had something else to say:
I'm fed up with the political bull**** in Laz though. I've been a citizen of Lazarus for quite a long time now. I've always enjoyed the region, and the people in it. But these recent events are nothing but outright political bull****. Several citizens were all but absolutely forced to leave because they advocated for more democracy and although the official line was "It was because it was done in secret", they actually were operating quite plainly. They were ultimately shown the door simply because they didn't conform to the chairman
What has become increasingly clear, is that Osiris' deliberations on declaring war with Lazarus has brought a spotlight to a region whose leaders actions have previously gone unnoticed. It is a regime which is squandering its potential by engaging in political actions that are geared towards reducing diversity and removing young members from government with differing opinions. These are all geared towards political dominance and authoritarianism rather than the pledged "benevolent dictatorship" promised by its constitution. A dictatorship based on imposing fear and paranoia and the suppression of the "communitys popular will" despite this popular will being a key part in the constitution.
Milograds revolution has taken a rather unfortunate and frightful turn for the citizenry of Lazarus.
