Public Opinion on Transgender Persons

I was wondering, how does the NationStates community feel about transgender persons? Personally, I am a generally accepting person as I care not as much about their labels but as them as individuals. I would like the inquire into the overall general opinion of people here however. Furthermore, how do you feel about transphobia and what do you think are the best ways of reducing it in society? I ask users to please remain civil and respectful for this discussion and will personally report any flaming or threatening behavior. I would also like to ask you all to participate in the poll.

I think it is generally wrong and unnatural. If people want to do that, then it's their business, but I am not comfortable with the lifestyle at all. I just won't try to stop anyone either since it is their choice.

What do you think about the fact that in America sometimes may not be hired for a position due to their gender identification being nonaligned with their sex characteristics?

I have no problem with it.
Though, I'm unlikely to date a transgender. Not being transphobic or anything, hell I'm bisexual, it's just that I prefer.... um, how you say, "original" people? No offense intended.

I think it's a little weird but that's probably because I've only ever seen one teams person in the flesh my whole life. Well actually they were a cross dresser but yeah. They can do whatever they want though it's there body do what you want with it.

On topic, no, I've got nothing against them; my gender isn't clear to me anyway.

If it genuinely decreases productivity because some people can't handle working alongside a transgender person, then I can understand why businesses would not want to hire them. Personally I view people based off merit. I don't think I would have issues working with someone who is transgender, but I can't avoid that I have a sick feeling in my stomach because of the choice they made. I just don't agree with it at all.

A lot of people haven't interacted with a trans person or someone who identifies as a noncisgender identification before either.

Yeah, it is a bit different to ordinary gendered people, but I have no problem with it.
