Games of the IX Olympiad: PROBLEM ALERTS

If there are any concerns you have over the scorination of the Games of the IX Olympiad (e.g. missing entries, misplaced entries, misgendered entries, incorrect qualification procedures, or any of the other 1,089 things that can go wrong when scorinating almost 300 events in under a month), this is the place to post them. Please do not post anything else on this thread!

Other OOC discussion is very welcome on the OOC thread, I just want things that require my attention to be clearly visible here.

One of my table tennis players, Jim Topplett;NIN;41 , was missing from the Men's singles preliminary round. I am fairly sure he did not get a bye given that my player with a significantly higher skill mod, Marcus Debuchy;NIN;76 , did play.

Also, on a much less important note, the men's volleyball results of day one are labeled as women's, just thought I'd point that out.

Otherwise, excellent work, especially with that brilliant opening ceremony!

The inclusion of Marcus Debuchy was an error; that spot should have been awarded to Marcus Metcalfe (SWI), whose skill modifier of 20 was amongst the bottom 26 entries. Both Topplett and Debuchy were eligible for first-round byes. Entering names quickly and going "oh, that's Marcus in" was the problem here!

Alan Marino's match with Debuchy has now been rescorinated into one against Metcalfe. Not that it helped him much:

Alan Marino (KLS) 11 6 8 11 5 7
Marcus Metcalfe (SWI) 7 11 11 7 11 11

So both Marcuses will be present and correct in the first round proper, and Jim Topplett will be there as well. Fear not!

The volleyball error is also fixed now. And the appreciation for the opening ceremony is much welcomed. (If I'd only spent a little less time on it and a little more time avoiding Marcus mix-ups, though...)

This is minor, but Group H in the women's volleyball results is not bolded (the [ is missing from two [/b]'s).

I don't know if you are finished with the medal table but (at 00:52 BST)

The medal table says that The Kytler Peninsulae has 1 gold medal but when I checked you have two. One in the Women's weightlifting-48kg, and one in Women's Archery.

Shouldn't the women's football pool game have been scored on day two? It was on the schedule.

My attempts to fix the men's water polo have ended up breaking it, xkoranate falsely believing there were 12 teams in some of the groups.

The easiest fix is to start again, rescorinating MD1. Does anyone object to this?

(If not, I'll scorinate it at around about 2130 UTC, 2230 BST, 1730 ET - during half-time in the Chargers-49ers game.)

How will it be retconned? Or is there a way to re-order the groups so that the previous MD1 becomes the new MD5 (i.e. same matchups) and we just use the previous results?

Could you clarify what the problem was? I'm pretty sure I'd beat Jasminia Islands again but I would prefer to see results that have been up for over a day and been RPed (in my case, on the KBC website coverage) worked around if they don't compromise the forthcoming scorinations.

Wouldn't be impossible to work around, of course – just set up the groups the same way and scorinate from the start but ignore the new 'MD1' results. Only thing to fix then would be the tables which would need to be done manually.

To clarify, my attempt to fix Group D manually in the XML ended up backfiring and the group was not being recognised - meaning that the MD1 results for Group D were showing up in Group E, the MD1 Group E results in Group F, etc.

Thank you for the alternative suggestion, Liventia. Manual tables is something I can live with for the sake of improving RPing. I'll do MD2 as intended, though at the end of scorinaton (which probably means at around 2230 GMT/2130 UTC).

Our women's doubles badminton team of Felecia Rudolph/Domonique Gleason won their first round match, but do not appear in the second round. On my phone, so I can't provide photo evidence, but that's the way it looks. It looks like their Renzynistani opponents of Hermansson and Aberg, I believe, advanced instead of them.

Could easily have misclicked when deleting losers. Easily. I'll check that properly in the morning when my eyes are actually up to that sort of checking!

Ok, so this is partly my fault, but in the women's keelboard Lettie Monahan;BAU;91 does not appear. i realised in the confusion over sailing team sizes I accidentally cut her partner from the boat, but she is still my participant in this event.

If, by any chance, she could be included, and the signup modified to include a sailing partner, then Bronwyn Board would join her on the boat. If not, I understand why she would be excluded for these games (which would cause a lot of IC controversy)
