Triathlon World Tour
Timbermunich Trail Triathlon
An NTA Qualifying Event host bid by Timbermunich

The triple T or TTT as its known will be held within the Great Timbermunich Forest Region and on a single track. This track is a combination of woodland trails and elevated wood platforms for both the cycling and running sections while the swim will be in the Quellwassermunich. It is a very scenic course that will challenge even the best triathletes and is setup for the Ironman distance.

Distance and Course Details
Ironman (Full)
Swim: 2.4 mile (3.86 km)
Cycling: 112 mile (180.25 km)
Run: 26.2 mile (42.2 km)
Time Limit: Strict 17 hours

Image
Portion of Quellwassermunich Lake
Swimming Section
The swim will take place wholly within Quellwassermunich Lake and will be outlined by a series of buoys. The buoys will be set up in an teardrop shape with the start and finish lines of this section being a mere 20 yards apart. This lake is well protected from the elements and winds should not be a factor, nor should water currents as the lake is very calm.

Image
Forest Trail
Cycling Section
The cycling section will head due north from the swimming staging area and will wind its way though the Timbermunich Forest and into the village of TimberOak Grove. The ride will be on both rough and smooth trail surfaces with no obstacles but may pass through the middle of some trees (similar to the real life roads of the Avenue of the Giants), depending on which final route is picked.

Running Section
The running section will start from the bike/run staging area, end of the cycling section, and head around the Heart of the Grove*. The run will start off on similar trails to the cycling section but then lead into the elevated trails that surround the Heart of the Grove. There will be some amazing views on this run, but be warned if you are afraid of heights this might not be the event for you. The elevated run sections will be monitored by the Greats and there is little likely hood of anyone falling off of them, but if it does happen just know a Great will be in the area in order to save you from certain death.

*We also issue this lone warning about the Heart of the Grove. This is a sacred and well protected area, it also possesses magical powers which supply the rest of Timbermunich with its life force. No one can enter the Heart of the Grove except for Timbermunich Greats because of this magical power, any one that does enter is instantly killed and their body is vaporized down to the skeleton and cannot be return as it will be frozen in time to forever remain at that point of entry (or just a few yards inside). So please only enjoy the view from the encompassing elevated trail.
You have been warned…

More information on all sections of the course will be released if selected to host the event.

Scorination and Format
Xkoranate will be used and set to the Ironman distance for proper time output

This will be a multi-run qualifying tournament with five group stage match days followed by a three day final. The field of competitors will be split into three or four groups with the top 3-4 making it to the three day final (all dependent on total sign-ups).

Group Stage
For the Group stage (match days 1-5) scoring will be based on place with first place getting the most points and last place getting the least amount. Actual points will be determined once a final number of sign-ups is determined (example would be 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 for first through ninth if each group has 9 triathletes). The groups will be drawn randomly using one of the many online randomizers, and depending on sign-ups pots are likely to be used based on the NTA rankings (the only way pots will not be used is if we only have 10 previously ranked triathletes sign-up). With current number (33) we’d have three groups of 11 and the top four would qualify from each group to the final (just as an example based off current numbers, likely to change).

Final
For the Final it will be a cumulative time, three day event so that after the three days the triathlete with the fastest overall time will be crowned the Champion of the Triathlon World Tour (Timbermunich Trail Triathlon).

Misc. and Ties
Times and Tie Breaker:
Any triathlete that does not meet the time cut-off will be given a DNF indicator and he/she will receive a time of 17:00:00 for that day, all others will receive their actual time per scorination results. Any ties in terms of points for the group stage will be separated by total time (all of a triathletes finishing times added up) after the final match day, if it is needed to find the participants that will advance to the final.

RP Stuff:
Cut-off times for RPs have not been set yet, but will likely be mid to late afternoon EST but will ultimately depend on when we start things up and the hope will be to start around Monday the 11th of August. As for RP and Bonuses, I will be using a simple scale (although generous) to rate all RPs and they will be cumulative over the course of the event. Their may be some incentive RP bonuses along the way as well.

Other:
If we happen to hit 60+ participants I may go with six groups instead of three/four, but we'll see how the numbers work out once we get that far. Also at that threshold I would expand the initial group stage to seven days instead of just five.

Questions
If selected more detailed information shall be released, but for now I think that covers it and hope I got everything your looking for. If however I did not cover what is needed or what you want to know please post your questions.

Yes, there will only be one distance, depending on the host.

What I was thinking is do the swimming on one day, running the next and etc, but there is not xml fies for swimming running and cycling. But as a whole. And realistically athletes do not do the hour (s) race every day... so I will see how others do it, but I am still in for hosting! Soon.

Right, in RL you'd never run two, three, four, ect Tri's back to back, well I'm sure there are a few people in the world that might....and probably die trying, although ultra-marathons come into mind like the badwater one.

TG me or HopNation with what distance you were thinking for each discipline (swim distance, bike distance, and run distance) and I can try and customize each section to accomplish what your thinking (swim on MD1, cycle on MD2, run on MD3, and repeat for x rounds). It's basically just a conversion of the minutes/hours down into seconds and putting them into the data points.
