Ahem, well, its intentions are noble, but we find it ironic that a proposal on literacy is rife with style errors. We cannot support this as written. Additionally, please tell me why, my car is in the front yard -- DAMMIT!

Im assuming here that you do not see that if this very basic of rights was already law then their might not have been these spelling mistakes you speak and even if it does contain these mistakes does it take away from the fact that this proposel gives those in need some basic skills in which they can then escape from the poverty that plagues some nations.We are here to fight for everyone not just the rich and for ourselfs

OOC: I would seriously take the suggestions made by Blood Wine seriously. First, you have no proposal. You have a social justice rant that belongs on your blog. Second, you will find literacy in schools adequately covered by existing legislation (GAR #80 I believe). While it is good that you wish to be involved, taking a few minutes to research the rules and such will help you avoid missteps and potential embarrassment.

OOC: Post a proposal if you want us to talk about it. And it needs to be YOUR proposal, not something you stole off of someone else.

Additionally, when someone's making noise for the sake of literacy, you'd think they were advanced enough to use punctuation. Sheesh.

A few things:

1.the proposal you're campaigning might be removed for rule violations
2.when posting a thread about a proposal you need to post the actual proposal in the first post (obviously if there is already a draft thread,you don't have to post a thread at all)
3.you may want to check your spelling and grammar,i think a lot is lost in communication
4.please read the threads i linked before continuing to post in the GA forums

Had you bothered to check the link, you'd see it was submitted in a forum thread called "Silly and/or Illegal GA Proposals. zOMG!" That's the thread where people post submitted proposals that are stupid and/or illegal. Usually "and" applies. Why this one's sat there so long, I'm not sure, maybe the mods are trying to figure out how many previous resolutions it duplicates/contradicts. Or maybe they just have lives outside of this game. In any case it's very telling that it only has 12 approvals - the usual size of the rubber stamp army that approves anything is well over that.

If it looked like the "proposal" was getting anywhere near quorum, I'd throw in a GHR to point out the duplication. If the author was here, I'd tell them to do that instead. But the author's not here. And I'm not surprised he (I hope to gods no girl is that stupid) isn't, since most of these proposals are just thrown at the WA and abandoned, like the WA didn't actually exist.

Look at my main nation's page and try again. Alternative answer: I'm someone that can spell "thief" without using a spellchecker.

Aggression? Methinks you're mistaking annoyance for aggression. If I wanted aggression, I'd throw Araraukar's IC ambassador at you. She can be aggressive.

OOC: I would suggest picking your fights more carefully - fighting for a stupid and most likely illegal proposal is not worth it, especially when the author's not having anything to do with it. I would suggest reading back a few pages of the Silly/Illegal thread to see what all sorts of silly things people have submitted, and why they're illegal.

No offence, but everyone appeals to that when their spelling is brought to question, and none of them ever typo "dyslexia". I'd suggest using a spell-checker if spelling is your weak point. Not sure if it would help with the punctuation too, depends on the program, I guess.

I know picking at spelling may feel silly, but since written word is all we see of the other person here, getting it right makes you appear more professional.

Well you're not exactly responding well to valid concerns.
Lit is a shit proposal. It does not set any sort of goals or criteria. It has no definitions or preamble to expound upon the meaning of its provisions or its intent. Required to create nationwide programs- so literally any kind of program will do as long as its national. What is a literary screening for school? Decrease censorship? Okay, here's Catcher in the Rye- censorship is down. Nations set minimum standards- what standards are these?
It does nothing more than create a committee and that is explicitly illegal. It duplicates existing legislation on literacy- sure it could be said to go a little farther but in its current form because it also duplicates another resolution in the process it remains illegal.
