Emperor Yoshi walked the halls of his palace in fear, Japan is in civil war and he knew that he could be attacked anytime. This was "Sengoku", country at war, as he looked out the window of his palace, he remembered how it started. It all started off in the Onin war, the war between who would become shogun next. It eventually escalated all over the empire, between the west and the east. It actually started in Kyoto, the war between these two. And then he lost the loyalty of many, all these daimyos that he lost trust of. Eventually, there was war between all the clans once again, to become the shogunate.

The Grand Duchy of Prussia celebrates the current events, they feast with the survivors of the plague. Everyone was invited to the palace to eat. Albert I through out the halls of the palace, watching as his servants began hanging up the decorations. After awhile he began to head straight for his office, to wait off the night.

King Le Hieu Tong continue to rule Vietnam like his predecessor and Vietnam continue to grow in peace. But the King also know he and his nation must focus more on improve agriculture production, and eduction. So he thinks carefully, draft a new education system where future generation will be educate not only in Confucist and Literrature but also in math and creativity. The new education system also clearly divided to 3 levels of learning which base on age. In the new system, children from age 5 to 9 will attend Level 1 and learn 4 subjects, Litterature (reading and writing with Confucist), Math (jut basic because no complex mathermatic had been discovered yet), Creative (art, music and nature science exploration), and Sports (swimming and martial art). Children from age 10 to 15 will attend Level 2 and will learn 3 subjects, Math with basic geometry exploration and debate, Creative with hand-on exercises for biology & physics, and Sports. From 16 to 20, they will attend Level A to learn and work at the same time in one of 5 practical academies base on their strengths and weakness. 5 Practical academies are academy of agriculture, academy of development (anything and everyhing they can think of, kinda like research facilities), academy of medicine (med-school kind of), academy of education, and academy of military. All schooling fee for children up to age 15 are free, 100% funded by the government and every kid must attend. All academies are also 100% funded by the government but only the bright minds can attend with entrance test which to be held every 2 years, and anyone with age from 16 to 20 can attend if they take and pass the entrance test before their 21st brithday. Specialised academies are 5 years school which if a person enter at age 20, that person must complete it in 5 years or he/she will be kick out at the end of his 5th year with out honor certificate. A person with Honor certificate will able to work as government officials in his studied field.

The King knows this new system of education must impliment along with an extreme expansion of the school network, more schools must be build quickly and economically. So he prepare a law that would help the nation with this massive project. The Donation Law, this new law allow rich citizen of Van Xuan can build schools in their local regions. Those schools will be named after them and they will get 2 years of tax examption. If they only donate money to build schools, they will get tax reduction according to their donated amount, and their children can attend specialised academies without having to take entrance test if they want to.

King Nam Ly calls in all key officials and begin read to them his carefully drafted bills. The officials are stunned but extremely happy for they know he is a great King just like his father, maybe even better. Just before he finish up the meeting, King Le Hieu Tong give an oral instruction for all the officials to study food production, the methods and how to improve the out put. The King also decided to push Southern Expansion harder with proposal for tribals in regions of Komtum and Gia Lai to join the Kingdom with the assurent that they would become the governors of their current regions. A special proposal for Champa Kingdom to join Van Xuan and enjoy the stable and growing economy, improving infrastructures such as the expanding road network, while they can retain their own culture, language, and local civil laws.

After the meeting, officials begin to carry out their tasks. Some prepare diplomatic letters for tribals regions and Champa kingdom. Some begin to pass down the command from the King, his new law and education reform. And some begin to take notice in food production methos, asking round and prepare to actually go out to the field to study. The future of Van Xuan is going to be bright, very bright.

MODERN DAY CHINA
Shao Khan II overlooked the destruction of the large Chinese city gloriously. The sky flashed from his horde's use of explosive weapons, and the screaming of men, women, and children alike was like music to his ears.

His men were ordered to kill any male opposition and take the rest as slaves. They could do as they wish to the children. Once this was all over, all of china would be under the control of his horde, and nothing could stand in his way now.

Not Europeans, nor japan, nobody! To him, he owned the largest and most powerful army in all of the world. Basically, his entire population could kill. And as he went across pillaging and conquering, those loyal to his cause joined his massive, overwhelming, unstoppable nomadic horde.

He hasn't had a loss before. Neither the Chinese's so-called "Great Wall", not the sheer force of the Russians and Indians. He was number one of Asia.

"Shao Khan, milord."
His top advisor said. "All of our armies are heading to this city now for the attack on India. What would you like me to do before we finish this?"

"Teach them my ways. Kill anyone who dare opposes my open arms.
Either they join me or get their throats slit." He motioned a finger across his throat, the assumption of sliding someone's throat.

"And what about the Vietnamese?"

He stopped. "Leave them be for now."

Once everyone was here, he'd have to address them on their current situation. His population wasn't that educated, they only knew how to count, treat wounds, and most importantly: kill.

The Japanese Emperor was walking the halls of his palace, when one of his servants came running up to him. "Yes, what is it? Speak quickly," the emperor spoke. "My lord, We just received word that the Mongolians attacked an Indian city once again! What if he attacks one of our Korean cities next? I very much suggest that we recruit more military, it is the only way to fight this Mongolian Horde!" the servant exclaimed. The emperor sent him off while thinking off what to do with the Mongolians. He knew that they had a vast army with many years of experience, they would definitely beat his armies in a battle. But he figured out a way to beat him, better technology would definitely work against his army. He wanted to upgrade these samurai swords that can cut through many things, but how would he upgrade it?

For the mean time though, he would have to upgrade his army. He went to his best general, "I want 750,000 before the spring arrives, I know I can trust you to get that for me." "But my lord! Wouldn't that be bad for the economy?" the general said, with a look of surprise on his face. "Can you get that for me though?", the emperor replied. The general nodded and went back to his quarters. The emperor is now certain that he will have an army large enough to beat the Mongolians, but what would happen to the economy? He will just have to cross that bridge when he gets to it.

"I hear those Europeans are ripe for invasion, Milord." Shao Khan II's top advisor said while the flag of the horde was raised on the city.

"How so?"

"They just went through a Terrible plague. It'd be a shame if we came in, raiding, pillaged a few cities, and left.. What do you say?"

Shao thinks for a second. The europeans had guns, but he had the numbers. He also had the Explosives, and fighting spirit.

"We'll march west at sundown. Gather the armies here, in Russia, and in India. We're merging them all to invade the west." Shao spoke.

It was at night when it happened, when Yoshi heard the footsteps. He was doing a late night check on the palace when he thought he heard something in the distance, Yoshi just thought it off as one of his guards. He was wrong, very wrong indeed, had he known about it, he would've called his guards immediately. But he didn't know about it though, so he just went to the kitchen to get a midnight drink. But in the dining room next to the kitchen, you can faintly see eyes surrounded by black, staring at him, watching for his next move. It was a ninja, used for assassination, and his job this time was to assassinate the emperor. It was a very risky task, one wrong move and you're next to dead. He killed off the front guard, so quietly that the others didn't hear the blood splattering. Then the two guarding the door went, also as quiet as a mouse, and then he was in. He was able to follow the emperor very quietly, but he once stepped too loudly, and he was sure the monarch heard him. But here he was now, able to finish off his task if he's careful.

The emperor finished off his drink, making his way to the dining room. Little did he know about the figure in the room next to him. Just as he was about to open the door, he swore he felt someone watching him. And then he saw the eyes, but it was much closer than before. "GAU-" he yelled before he felt something in his chest. The ninja has pierced his chest with the katana he was holding, but then the guards came. The ninja knew it was the end for him, but the task has been finished.

OOC: I thought this would be easier for the unification of Japan, but with another clan ruling. It will still be the empire of Japan right? Anyhow, the heir for Yoshi is Odo Ashigaru.

Forbidden City, China

Ming Xiaozong, Emperor of the Great Ming Dynasty, is touring the city with heavy elite guards and officials follow him. In his head, China is big but not enough, he want Manchuria and as a Han Chinese, he want those Southern territories back under Han Chinese control. His ambition is big, very big but he also worry about the Mongolian, they may come back. Then he stop walking and turns to his Foreign Diplomatic Adviser

- "I want to make a deal with the Mongolian." He says
Everyone is shocked, "a deal with dirty wild Mongol? the Emperor must be joking", they think.
- "I want the Mongol help to split Manchuria. Our empire will conquer Southern Manchuria and the Mongol will manage to take the North" The Emperor says
Now, everyone understand, "the Manchu is strong, take on them alone will be costly, bloody and a long time. Split their territories with the Mongol seems to be the most logic, and best way to do that".
- "This can also open a new era of co-operation between us and the Mongol. They are nomad but they are strong, their strength is a worthy friend to have." The Emperor express his wisdom. Deep in his mind he knows this is only for the security of China "befriend with the Mongol is better and safer than to have them as enemy. Because one day, a new Genghis Khan may be born and that time China better be on his side, not the opposite side of his."

The Emperor continue to tour the city then come back to his Private Chamber. While the Foreign Diplomatic Adviser official is scrambling to prepare a diplomatic proposal for him to read and approve.

The Heavenly Born Emperor of Ming Empire

The Holy Emperor of the Great Ming Empire want to propose a deal with the Mongolian to split Manchuria. Manchuria is a strong kingdom with great land which only can be use better for the Ming and Mongolian people. By agree to this deal, Mongolian will manage to take all Manchu territories in the North. The Ming Empire will only take the Southern territories of the Manchu. Also by agree to this deal, both side will promise to not attack each other and let peace be forever lasting between the two great empires.

"My lord, we have heard that the Mongolians and Chinese have made an alliance. I suggest we do the same, maybe they could have help unifying Japan," a servant suggested to the new emperor, Oda Ashigaru. "I'll consider that option when we have no other choice. For now though, do you have any news about the other clans in Japan?" Oda asked the servant, "Yes my lord, the Chosokabe clan captured most of Shishoku recently and look to be a rising power. Kyushu is still broken up into multiple clans, but Shimazu are gradually becoming the dominant power over there. And then the Tokugawa clan has captured Nagoya from the Oda clan." Oda thought about the recent events in Japan, the most surprising was his father getting assassinated at night. Maybe he would ally with another Asian nation, but the question was, with who?

While waiting to receive the reply from Mongolia (take some time for it to travel, it's 1500 not today so yea), Emperor Xiaozong gives the honor of commanding the invasion force to one of his best and trusted general, general Yang and his brothers. The Yang family had been a loyal leading military family for many generations. The Yang brothers thanks the emperor for the honor and receive the Emperor's golden scroll with his Seal on it. The oldest Yang brother read the scroll out loud for all officials to hear.

By the order of the Holy Emperor

Brothers of the Yang family will take command of a 100,000 men army with the task of annex all Southern regions of Manchuria. Another 50,000 men army will serve as back up and re-enforcement when needed. May God bless them and lead them to glorious victory.

After thanks the Emperor one more time, the Yang brothers waste no time and go to their army base right the way. They consult with their mother and their wives to pick a good day for departure. In Chinese culture and belief, everyday is associate with an animal in the Chinese Zodiac (12 animals, starting from the mouse) which would indicate good luck or bad luck, things should do or should not do in certain day. Until that day, their main focus are to stock up supplies, train their soldiers and make battle plans.

The soldiers are being train to fight in formations, stand alone fighting and basic tactical skill. As formation, soldiers are group up according to their specialties such as sword infantry, spear infantry, melee cavalry, archer cavalry, archer, crossbowman, giant crossbow units, and catapult units. Beside specialties trainings for fighting in formations, every soldier also receives standard training in the basic of hand to hand combat, sword fighting, ladder climbing and basic wound care.

The Ming Empire in this period, in RL, fielded an army of more than 300,000 by drafting peasants into service. But for the sake of this RP I'm capping myself at 300,000 maximum.

Doge Leonardo Gritti does the usual steps from the chariot to his palace, greeted by his guards and advisors
A voice from inside the court speaks up: "Mio Doge"
The hall is silent, anyone inside turns to listen to the messenger
"There are currently no more reports of plague, we can focus our spending on other matters now"
Before he finished the sentence, people inside the court were already cheering in happiness, while others giving out just a smile.

The Doge stands up
"Now, my dear Venetians, it is true that it is indeed good news, but we have no time at all to not look at the future. The Iberians found lands on the west, across the great vast waters behind the Pillars of Hercules, as many of you may know, our oar-popelled vessels are not adeguate for such waters, and we should invest in some if we want to continue our mercantile dominance."
A brief pause while some nod and others mumble
"On the other hand, the Ottomans are a great threath to our serene nation, and their powers constantly rising. We shall declare the beginning of a coalition against them, as we alone cannot defend against them."
"Now, I shall ask my advisors to follow me in the briefing chamber, the messengers shall spread news about the coalition, and the rest is dismissed".
