The Story
The city of Hilthrim used to the pride of the empire.It made its living mining a rare mineral called Macht that would boost magic powers by over 200% and was prized by the empire who used it to claim new land. Hilthrim also was home to the empires army the Aureus Arma who protected the city and mines from raiders and thieves.One night after a celebration for the New Year the mines were destroyed by very strong Black Magic and a barrier was set 80 miles in any direction.The barrier was unbreakable after many failed attempts to break through it using cannons and the High Wizards but nothing worked.The Arma tried to keep it under wraps but once the civilians knew about it all hell broke lose.Angry people started attacking the Armas and started raiding homes and businesses for food.Eventually after declaring Marshall Law and prosecuting anyone you even mentioned the rebels.After clashes with the rebels and many executions the peace was returned but the scars were visible.Many people who used to be rich were now living in slums and parts of the city were never rebuilt after the war.Ten years later the whispers of revolt are rampant and Marshall Law is still in place to keep the peace but a the new rebellion is in action striking without fear.The Rising Suns have taken a city and the smaller groups are fighting more than they used to.Vanguards are hired to punk the rebels and help the Aureus Arma with the rebellion.The war has already started but the question is who will rule this new land.

The Factions
Aureus Arma:By far the strongest faction in the city and surrounding areas.They are well trained and equipped but are spread very thin trying to protect all the areas.Nearly 90% of troops know some type of magic.Size:32,000 Leader:Garman Orgon
Fire Hogs:One of the Rebel groups operating in the city.They operate in the slums and use guerrilla tactics against Arma. Hogs use whatever they can grab to attack and are poorly equipped and trained.Only 20% of troops know some type of magic.Size:945
Rising Suns-The strongest rebel group operating and basically owning the neighboring city of Oakwood.They are the strongest match against the Arma and have nearly run them out of Oakwood.The Suns are mostly veterans from the first war and know the fighting tactics of the Arma.They suffer from low numbers and inferior weaponry.70% of them know some type of magic.Size:19,000 Leader:Ledger Fenway
Knights of the Black Sword:They are the most secretive fraction but are known to fight rebels and Arma. There intentions are unknown and some say they are the ones who caused the barrier.All members know powerful magic.Size:??? Leader:???
VanguardsOperating in Hilthrim they are mercenaries who have been hired to hunt down all rebel groups.They are responsible for decimating the Fire Hogs and Hailstorms numbers.They are masters at close combat and have some deadly close combat magic but are horrible at long range battles.50% of them know magic of some type.Size:5,000
HailstormsThe second biggest rebel group they are located in the deserted parts of Hilthrim and are mostly deflects and wanderers who were tired of the Armas treatment to people.The group is responsible for killing the most Aureus Arma officers and is considered a serious threat to the city.Most don't even need magic to kill an opponent they can use there supreme agility and marksmanship to do the job.The Hailstorms do suffer the most causalities and are constenly under attacked by Armas troops.Less than 5% know anytype of magic.Size:10,000(but constantly going down)

Hilthrim:
Magnolia Sector:The richest part of the city and is the most secure sector of the city.
Hickory Sector:The middle class and where many Aureus Armas personal live.This sector occasionally has fights spilled in but is overall mildly safe.
Slums:Where the poor live and where most of the fights come from.Extremely dangerous most of the time people live in constant fear.
Oakwood:The headquarters of the Rising Suns but is still a battle field with Armas trying to take it.
