Burning Nations (Invite only)

Postby New Sword Art Online » Sat Jun 21, 2014 4:44 pm

The year is 2034. Many countries have been destroyed by war, famine, rising sea levels, and disease. Everyday is a fight for survival. Will you fight that fight to save your country? (In this RP you may use your nation's name, create a leader and move several forces. No God-moding. Telegram me if you have questions.)

President Asuna sighed as she assessed the nations problems. New Swordia was only of the remaining nations of the world. However, New Swordia was an island and rising sea levels threatened them. The Navy was powerful of course because New Swordia was an island. Asuna was 36, she remembered a time when she was younger, a time before the floodgates. It was a dark time but now at least the sea could be held of. She was married and had a child, one of the reasons she made those floodgates be built, to protect her family. "Madam." Her secretary Sammy Yiron knocked on the door "Come in." Asuna answered. Sammy came in, she looked slighty annoyed. "Princess Lizbeth needs to she you." Queen Finan had passed away a year ago leaving Liz in her place, the 17 year old drove Asuna crazy. Vice-president Shiro Ahinon said "We could just ignore her." Asuna jumped a bit because Shiro appeared from no where. Asuna shook her head "As much as I'd like to the government must work together with the monarchy, despite the fact she may only be a figurehead." Shiro laughed and said "Lead the way to Her Royal Highess then." Asuna sighed her name for a new navy bill and walked down the hass with Shiro to the Royal Meeting Room.

Lord-General Price and the other two heads of the Kanton empire discussed the world's resource issues around the Kanton palaces dining table that was now covered with a world map.
"Opacasilva was almost invaded yesterday by Wyrvenland. Our warriors were able to drive them out but at a large cost."
Chief Angpetu reported her states newfound peril to the Lord-General.
"The local Enderbury 3rd Army has deployed from the port city to reinforce our warriors but if Wyrvenland continues at attempts to take our trees and lands in such force we may not last."
Price sighed. "They want our resources. Dusland was attacked too, but Colonel Faux is there so their attempt was hopeless. That's how desperate their getting." Price adressed his assistant Suki. "Suki have the Kanton 4th deploy to Opacasilva."
"Okay."
Angpetu was visibly shocked. "Are you sure Price? That's an elite army."
"The people of Opacasilva and yourself are our freinds and people we promised to protect. The Kanton Empire keeps its promises. Wyrvenland will realize we mean business when an army from Kanton Island shows up."
"Hopefully. Thank you Lord-General."
"And Marcell."
"Yes?" The Lord-Admiral answered. "Please raise the whole navy and either buy or remove all of the damn pirates! I spent the last four hours going through piracy reports."
"Right." The Lord-Admiral hurried towards the door with a smile on his face.
"And send a naval detachment to defend Birnie Island. It's a wildlife reserve so it's gonna be targeted." "Yes sir." The Lord-Admiral acknowledged as he left.
"My whole Empire might as well be a war zone now." Price said sadly and put his head down on the table. Suki came over and rubbed his back. "It will be okay Anstian."
"But will I be?" Price's question hung in the room. The sound of local air defenses fireing echoed in from outside and Price sighed again.

Shiro and Asuna walked into the Royal Meeting Room. Princess (at 21 she becomes a Queen) Lizbeth sat at her chair. Some others had already gotten there. Asuna and Shiro were show to their seats closest to Lizbeth. Lizbeth addressed the government. "I understand many of you do not believe I can handle this office. I would like to implore for your loyalty today. I want to raise New Swordia back to a safe zone and to create allies. I also want to create better medicine for our people." She bowed her head in a sign of respect, her crown siding down slightly. Asuna nodded back as did Shiro. It was better to have Lizbeth on their side than not having her with them. Asuna looked around the room and saw a boy in an army uniform in the room. His markings said he was a corporal. She called him out, there was not way a 16 year old was a corporal. "Solider what's your name?" The boy snapped his feet together and saluted "Returo Shuzu." Asuna asked another question "How are you a corporal?" Lizbeth interrupted "Oh I promoted him. He is very capable." Asuna turned on Lizbeth "Ma'am you can't promote a person because you want to. That is handled by the government. We deal with that stuff. You manage little things but we run the country." Lizbeth rose "I may promote who I choose." Asuna shook with rage a boy had no clue what he must do. But she let it side. Lizbeth said. "The meeting is dismissed." Returo waited until the room was empty to walk over to Lizbeth. Returo bowed his head to Lizbeth and said "I thank you once again for the promotion Princess." Lizbeth smiled and said "You do not need to be so formal with me Returo-chan. You should catch up with the others." Returo bowed again but Lizbeth gave him a slight hug. He nodded and walked out the door

Price hated this part of his day but it had to be done. "How are we politically?" He asked and Suki answered.
"New Swordia's Princess has became more active recently, Wyrvenland has declared Marshall Law, and Cypruarini declared total war against us a few hours ago. The latter two nations are on the brink of collapse.
So far the Lord-Admiral has stopped most of the piracy attempts of our shipping lanes by other nations 'at peace' with Kanton's empire." Price was surprised. "That's it? That's not so bad actually. So how is the Princess becoming more active?" The Lord-General asked her.
"We haven't received any proper reports as of yet." Suki responded.
"Alright. Why is there Marshall Law in Wyrvenland?" He questioned.
"A nuclear weapon was detonated inside their capital." Suki said with sadness in her voice.
Price ate his previous words mentally. It was bad. "Holy $1&+! Seriously?! ...That's insane... have the Medicine Guild send aid."
"I'm on it." With that Suki left the room to give the young Lord-Generals orders. Price went to the window of his palace that gave him a view to the ocean. "In a world where only the most strongly united will stand in the end, I stand here leading a new nation of great size and prosperity as the world falls in front of my eyes. Will it be just a matter of time before we fall with it?" He grabbed a pen and paper. "I'm writing that down. That is golden speech material."

It was the dead of night when Shiro knocked on a thick wooden door. It swung open quickly and silently. Shiro looked around and stepped in. The President's office was lit by a few candles. Asuna, Shiro and a few other army generals and such plus several senators were there. Asuna spoke " I'm glad you all came in such short notice and so late an hour. However I needed to make sure that little girls and boys were alseep(refereeing to Lizbeth and Returo. Both were fast alseep, surprisingly to Asuna, in different beds and rooms.)I believe Princess Lizbeth is trying to strengthen her powers. We all know how monarchies go. We are a republic, she Is merely a figurehead." Some ayes and yes were murrmered in the office. Shiro suggested "We could just ignore what she says unless it's a holiday or whatever." Asuna nodded "We could but what if she's got supporters? Clearly, she's got a boyfriend in the army. She's promoted him to a Corpral so he can get into important meetings. He is to never be informed of meeting. But how many others are her spies. Surely we must check the Royal Guard's loyalty. But until I say no one do anything." Asuna blew out the candles. The meeting was over

The young Lord-General needed more peace if he was to succeed as a ruler so he decided to make an ultimatum to his aggressors on international television. The local camera man in the studio that Price was using gave the Lord-General the thumbs up. "Your on in five...four...three...two...one..." The light turned green and Price spoke to the camera.
"I know your all busy at home dealing with your own problems at home so I hate to ask for a little bit of your time like this. First of all, for those of you who don't know who I am, I'm Lord-General Price C. Anstian, commander of the Kanton Empire and this is a message to all nations. I stand here as the terribly young leader of a great nation on a world where only the most united will stand in the end. Yet my people are continually suffering acts of war and piracy from other nations whom of which are supposedly at peace with us!" The Lord-General put a lot of anger into his words. "It's about time true peace was installed. I will be holding a peace conference at the Phoenix Palace on my home Island of Kanton exactly seven days from today. Any leader of a nation who doesn't show up at the conference will be considered to be declaring total war on my nation. I am also instating open aggression polices immediately against any vessel and aircraft that enter our lands without permission from our government. They will be destroyed upon entry." Price took a deep breath. "I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and the next." The video ended as the camera light turned red.
"I'd say that scared somebody Lord-General." said the camera man. "Wasn't trying to, but whatever." The Lord-General shrugged.

Asuna had been watching TV in bed with her husband Kazuto when she saw the invitation Price gave. She sighed and said "This is what happens when kids rule a nation. Now do you see why Lizbeth is such a problem?" Kazuto wasn't at all a very political man even though he was 35 but he could always understand problems Asuna faced before she did. He was a nano-tech scientist and declared he became one to create medical bots that could save lives. However, the government wanted his research for the army but since Asuna was the president and Kazuto's wife she keep it in his control. Kazuto though for a moment and said "Darling what you haven't seen is that the way to win against Lizbeth is to make her think she won. Turn her into your puppet." Asuna sighed and said "So I've got to take her to the meeting." Kazuto smiled "Correct." Asuna switched the TV off and curled up to Kazuto "That's a problem for tomorrow." Asuna said. Kazuto kissed Asuna goodnight and also went to sleep

Price looked at what the staff had done to the main palace room for the meeting. "Uh, I know I'm not exactly qualified to speak on interior decorating but... purple drapes?" One of the staff spoke to him. "Do you dislike them sir?" The Lord-General was careful not to insult this person's feelings if it was her idea. "It's not that I dislike them or they look bad." He made some vague hand gestures to prove his just made up point. "There is a great possibility that we could have quite a few people arriving and the drapes will just make the room feel crowded." The palace staff woman glanced at them before looking back at her young leader. "Shall I have them taken down?" "Sure." Price said before turning to Suki whom was walking up to him. Suki spoke in a hushed voice as the staff lady left to take down the drapes with some others. "Not a fan of the drapes?" She asked. The Lord-General put a hand on her shoulder and spoke in the same hushed tone. "Have them burned." He said before walking away. "Yes sir."

Asuna yawned and sipped her morning coffee. They had resently told Kanton they were coming to the meeting. The Royal Guard had been assembled and Lizbeth was putting on different dresses, trying to find the best one. A tiny hand reached up at Asuna's. "Mommy" said Asuna's 6 year old daughter Yui. Asuna smiled and patted her daughter's head "I'll be home in a day or two." Asuna glanced at the speech she planned to read. It was about peace in these darks time and all that. Asuna looked around and smiled when Shiro (vice-president) and Sachi (sectatary of state) talked over. "Finally all here." Asuna said. Sachi nodded and said "Asuna notated how much that kid (referring to Price) annoys you don't let your temper get the best of you. Heay be a weak leader in our eyes but he has an enormous army, one I'd rather not meet." General Klein had also show up to go with the president. They waited a few more minutes before a girl wrapped in a cloak, sniper in hand showed up. Shiro sighed "I was worried you would miss the flight Sinon." Sinon said "Don't worry, I'm here. If things go sour I'll lay down covering fire from a rooftop." An older man walked over to see them. "I hope you weren't leaving without me." Said former president Ankihio Kayba. "Well...never mind you'll be able to help." Asuna said. The airplane's engined start once Lizbeth and the Royal Guard got on. Asuna looked at Lizbeth and said "Be on your best behavior." Lizbeth smiled " But of course"

"The President Asuna will be landing at the Kanton Airport soon. We have given them a fighter escort and permission to land sir." Suki reported to the Lord-General. "Cool." He looked up from his paper work. "Hopefully they don't get shot down, I don't want to fish an upset president out of the ocean." He returned to denying religious fundamentalists pleas to put religion into state politics. "Why is our nation so violent?" Suki asked suddenly. Price looked up at his 'assistant'. "It's very simple actually. We have an abundance of resources in a environment where it's rare to have much of anything. They want our stuff." Suki pressed on. "Is that the reason most people rarely live past thirty five here?"
"Yeah, it's also the reason why the age of adulthood was lowered to 15 years of age."
"That explains why your in charge legitimately, kind of."
He returned to his work. "Yep."

Asuna's plane, Dragon One, soared gracefully through the skies over Kanton. "Madam we shall be landing in a few moments buckle up." The pilot said over the radio. Asuna and the others clicked their seat beats aroun themselves and the plane began to descend. The cloud separated like opening doors and the field could be seen below. "Kanton tower we are coming in for a landing." The pilot said. The Swordian plane gracefully touched the ground and landed. Sinon jumped up and bolted out the door to follow and watch from afar. The Royal guard formed around Lizbeth, Asuna, Sachi, Shiro and Kabaya. Together the guards escorted the group out to meet the Kanton leader.

The leader of Kanton sat outside the front door of the palace waiting for his guests with Cheiftess Angpetu of his Vassel state. "Are they the only ones who came?" She asked referring to the plane that landed. Price nodded. "Hopefully our guests won't dislike me for not being a politician."
"If they are wise they'll realize that before they arrive." She looked around. "Where are the guards?"
"Gone." Price said flatly.
"I see." She looked at him suspiciously. "Did you murder them again?" Price raised an eyebrow. "Again?"
"You haven't before?" She said looking surprised.
"I have not actually." He crossed his arms and looked away.
"Huh? Last chief said you did." Price rolled his eyes. "Your last chief died before I was promoted into office. Are you gonna be like this all day?" Angpetu smiled at him. "Like what?" Price sighed and watched the visitors approach.

Kayaba was leading the group forward and stopped in front of Price. "Excuse me young man could you point me in direction of the capital building? We are meeting your country's leader." Price's face darkened "I am the leader of this country." Asuna pushed Kayaba aside and spoke "Forgive the old man, he was excepting someone older. I am President Asuna Yuuki of New Swordia." Lizbeth step forward next and curtsied "Princess Lizbeth of New Swordia." Shiro introduced himself last "I am Vice-President Shiro of New Swordia." Asuna asked "So where it this meeting place going to be? We don't like to be in the open long. A half mile away Sinon had scaled a skyscraper and laid across its roof. Right now her scope was set on the woman behind the boy talking to Asuna. Now it was on the boy. Sinon kept changing where she was looking in order to assure no threats were near

He nodded as they introduced themselves. "The palace behind me is the meeting place, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to meet here." Having yet to look in their eyes he turned around and opened the large door to the palace holding it open for them. Angpetu bowed to them. "I'm Chieftess Angpetu, please step inside." Behind the door was a huge lavishly decorated room with a large table surrounded by chairs.

At The Palace

The royal guards turned swiftly, white uniforms remaining spotless. The guards marched the group into the grandly decorated meeting room. The government officials walked in but the guards remained outside. Returo, was one of the guards, and as she passed he wished her good luck. Lizbeth marveled at the decorations and said to Price "This is all so lovely " Asuna cleared her throat to silence Lizbeth and continued "What is it you would like to dicuss with me?" "And me" Lizbeth chimed.

Half A Mile Away

Sinon's scope was peeking through a window in the meeting hall. However, Shiro was not in her view because he was blocked by a wall. That made the sniper very nervous but she kept her aim on Price, not firing but being ready for anything

Price let go of the door and Angpetu slipped in as it closed. The Lord-General walked to the other side of the table as he spoke. "Peace, war, trade agreements, alliances, just international relations." He pulled out a chair spun it around and sat on it backwards with his arms resting on the back of it. "As you hopefully already know, I run a war torn and violent empire from this very palace and New Swordia is the only nation on this third of the world that is not currently at war with, or hostile to us. I called this meeting to hopefully create peace, or keep peace, between Kanton and the other nations." Price looked up into every one of their eyes on at a time before sighing and speaking again, his words forced. "This is because we're going to launch a military campaign against all of our enemies soon and I need to know how you stand." He had a depressed look on his face as he looked down on the table awaiting their response. Angpetu puffed her pipe which was sentless.

Kayaba remanded silence because he knew he was just an ambassador but he wanted to. The girl who was smoking was irrating him. 'No wonder they die so young, they fight and smoke, how barbaric' he thought. President Asuna asked "You mean you want us to declare war on nations we have no problems with? If we did that, our country would have a huge target on our back. I must have time to think and talk with my cabinet." Lizbeth spoke up "I support The Lord-General, we shall go to war." Kayaba finally spoke "Lizbeth maybe your mother didn't tell you this but the Princess, Queen, whatever has no real power. You're a figure head." At this Lizbeth called her guards "These peasants ignore my power! Deal with them." The guards (12) drew their pistols and pointed them at Asuna, Shiro, Sachi and Kayaba. Shiro muttered "Traitorous dogs." In a second Shiro's throat exploed into blood and the Vice-Presidant collapsed. "Sinon!!" Asuna screamed, her ear piece picked up the order and the guard who killed Shiro lost got a crimson dot in his forehead. The gaurds and Lizbeth took cover and the officials fled, Sinon firing as cover. A lucky shot from Returo hit Kayaba in the center back. Kayaba fell and struggled to stand but was quickyl killed by another gaurd. Asuna and Sachi sprinted for the plane, Sinon now running parrell to them. Lizbeth held up her hand and the guards stopped. The President's plane took off at a record breaking speed. Lizbeth turned and smiled and said "I shall help you Lord-General. I have the real power."

Angpetu and the Lord-General didn't even flinch at the violence, but the so called 'figurehead' brat ticked him off. He pressed a button below the table then stood, eyes fueled with fury. "I understand why they relegated you to a 'figurehead' princess." Fifty elite Kanton soldiers that were hidden outside burst in tackling and arrested the princesses guards. He spoke to a soldier with a large scar across his face. "Have these aggressors lined up in the execution grounds and have the Lord-Admiral contact the government officials that just ran off. They need to know that I wasn't asking them to go to war against anyone and I will clean up this mess for them." The soldier nodded and went to complete the orders. "Get the Medical Guild in here and see what they can do about the injured while your at it captain." Price ordered before marching over too the princess. "Shall I explain my actions first, or shall you yours?"

In The Meeting Room

Lizbeth stood up, her face curled in a snarl " I offer you help and you support the president? Price you're the sole ruler of your country and you're young just as I am. All I am trying to do is have the monarchs regain control and restore order in New Swordia. Surely as one monarch to another you know that republics are too weak to run a country. Now please release my guards."

OOC: I need Lizbeth and Returo alive for the New Swordia civil war

On The Plane

Asuna's heart beated irregularly and she felt sick. Sachi had fainted and was beginning cradled by Sinon, who was also trying to wake her up. The radio cracked an Asuna answered it "Hello?" On the other end was the voice of Price's advisor explaining that the situation was under control and the mess was being cleaned up. Asuna's eyes flared with anger when her fellow New Swordians corpses were called a mess. "They were my co-works and friends. They are not just a mess. " Asuna hissed. The plane turned around to land in Kanton once more but what inserted Asuna was no Kanton guards helped until after they fled. Asuna armed herself and the now awakened Sachi with pistols that they tucked into their jacket pockets. If something happened they'd be ready

The meeting room.

Price raised and eyebrow to her. "You realize as the leader of a state and people it's our job not to become tyrants? Even if there is a power struggle in your government, don't you think ordering the execution of your highest and seemingly loyal government officials won't make you look young and unable to lead to your own people? Not only that, you did it on foreign land that doesn't belong to you! Did any of this even cross your mind?!" The Lord-General roared before turning and smashing a chair to the floor only to pick it back up. Price sighed listening to the newly arrived Suki whisper into his ear that the president was coming back. "Alright. Bring the place back under full guard, release the Princesses guards so they guard her, then give the president a mercenary detail to replace their guards that I'll pay for." Suki ran off to give his orders and Price addressed the Princess pointing to the far side of the table. "Lizbeth, go sit over there. Your exloyal subjects are coming back." The Lord-General returned to his seat with Angpetu. "If another round is fired in this palace I'll kill everyone here except Angpetu myself." The palace guards stiffened as Price placed a pistol on the table in front of him.

The Phoenix Palace and surrounding area.
The palace guards have returned to their guard posts as soon as the president lands and those who died were placed in caskets and being loaded into a hearse in front of the palace. On each of the caskets words spraypainted on the side read: "Lived and died with honor and in service to his monarch." Then there was a tag that read: To be returned to New Swordia ASAP"

From The Rooftop View

Sinon had been laying up in her sniper nest for only five minutes and she had already heard what kind of crazy-person Price was with her listening equipment. Price even thought Lizbeth was in charge. "Asuna be careful they're crazy." Asuna walked back into the meeting room pistol hides but ready. Sachi followed behind Asuna cautionly. Asuna sat down at the table, Sachi also sat down. Asuna's voice remained steady "Why have you let Lizbeth keep armed guards? If I didn't know better you supported her." Price was about to interrupt but Asuna contuined "I've been serving my country since before you were born and I would like some respect. Now tell the truth. "

"If I didn't know better I'd give you some respect ma'am." Price said calmly, hand on the large caliber pistol on the table. "What little respect I had for you and the princess left earlier today when you thought I was asking you to help me annihilate nations. I was asking if you were against it so I would know whether to invade you or not. I will not ask others to break their peace with others when the entire point of what I'm doing is to finally bring peace in Kanton and her empire. However you have much more pressing matters at the moment as I'm looking at two separate entities occupying the same land at the moment. You and your republic, and her monarchy." He finished motioning to the princess. Angpetu clacked her pipe. "Two things that work together separate to sow war if word gets out. It is for you two to decide, to war, or repair what's been broken."

In The Meeting

Asuna glared at Price, under the table she held her pistol ready. Asuna spoke to Price "It takes more than a fancy title and a itchy trigger finger to be a leader. I sacrifice for my country, I do not kill my people. I protect them from tyrants and dictors, like Lizbeth. I serve my people, they do not serve me. Your plan of declaring war against so many other nations is foolish, they would crush you. Even if they are tiny when enough pigeons get together they can kill an eagle. If you attack them all you're more of a foolish child than I though. And don't think you threaten me with your gun." Asuna's left arm was resting on the table. Asuna swung it out, the sleeve slid down to show a robotic limb. "I have dealt with much worst than one pistol. And your guards wouldn't help you considering you threatened to kill them if another shot was fired. That means it's everyone versus you. Now put the gun away, be a good boy, and talk like a civilized person."

In the meeting.

Price smirked at her. "I'm the Lord-General because I earned the position. I've always fought multiple people and army's at once. If we're to be brought down by those who wish us dead and gone. We're fine with that. As for being a leader. Your right it does. However you are foolish to not teach Lizbeth that or anything about politics. You and your group are more responsible for her tyrannical behavior then she is. Your being even more foolish then I thought possible by still talking about my problems and wanting me to be civilized. Do you not realize your in a situation that could turn into a revolution or the removal of your republic, based off your actions?" He was not smirking anymore by this point. "Right now your on neutral ground to talk things out with your princess without fear of being killed by her. I'm not sure you'll convince her to go on how it was before you pissed her off in my house. I hope you can be creative President." He glared at them.
