In the year 2048, the technology of anti-gravity travel was popular for racing. Anti-Gravity was a method of transportation that needed a lot of energy to be impractical at the time, and so it was relegated mostly to racing. From it several teams formed and an organization that was a conglomerate of all these companies was created: the AG Consortium, to deal and regulate racing.
Fast forward to 2158, 110 years later. The AG Consortium has held several cups since it started. In the new F7200 league, the team subscription got opened again so that there were innovators in the field, given that the last companies got stomped by 2 companies that remain: AG Systems and Tigron.
On the other hand there was another type of consortium led by several companies led by Trigon industries: Overtel. These two consortiums would see to each other that they would lose, but it didn't mean the companies within these consortiums were not competitive either against each other.
The classes determine the class of car that the drivers and companies get to develop as well as the minimum specs for said cars. The classes are as follows:
Class X
The Class X of cars comprise those cars that are prototype class. The minimum specs are as follows:
Max Speed: XXXX.00MPH/XXXX.XXKPH
Thrust: XXXXXN (over 10,000 available)
Handling: X.Xdegrees/sec turn
Shields: XXXX SUG
Class S
The Class S comprise cars that are race-built and aggressive built. In other words they are all-around cars that don't suffer the drawbacks from other classes. Their specs are more limited due to their racing status as not being experimental.
Max Speed: up to ~3044.82MPH/4900.17KPH
Thrust: up to 15000N
Handling: up to 80 degrees/msec turn std.
Shields: up to 9000SUG
Class A
Class A is the premier AG class. These cars are built either for shows or for aggressive competition. These cars come in two types: Aggressors and Tuners. Aggressors are specialized in combat and weapon capabilities at the sacrifice of speed. In other words, they are the slower cars but with more powerful specs. Tuners on the other hand are specialized racing cars that sacrifice weaponry and weight over speed. These cars however have weaker shields.
Specs
Max Speed: Up to ~2283.54MPH/3675.00KPH
Thrust: Up to 12500N (tuner)/13000N (aggressor)
Handling: up to 60 degrees/msec turn std
Shields: up to 7500SUG (aggressor)/6000 (tuner)
Class B
Class B ships are the mid range of performance. These ships are tied into two categories: Interceptors and racers. Interceptors have better weapons and shield as well as thrust at the sacrifice of speed. However, racers have better speed and thrust at the expense of shield and weapons.
Specs:
Max Speed: up to ~1552.41MPH/643.73KPH
Thrust: up to 10000 (racer)/12000 (interceptor)
Handling: up to 45 degrees/msec std
Shields: up to 5500 (interceptor)/4500 (racer) SUG
Class C
Class C ships are the lowest and most basic performance types. These ships have no specialization given that their specs are so low and cannot be measured for specialization as almost all ships are called "pet ships" at this point. This is basically where all the new and upcoming companies make their debut and hope to win sponsors as well as the old companies releasing new ships. It has been debated that this class of ships should be out of the F7200 and should have their own cup.
Specs:
Max speed: up to ~751.00MPH/1208.62KPH
Thrust: up to 9000N
Handling: up to 30 degrees/msec std
Shields: up to 4000SUG

RP Rules:
No Godmodding - The classes I have made them for a reason. So don't start getting too cocky. The background of your company will be what determines how much tech they have to actually make the cut to any progressive class. Newer companies have less access to higher tiers than older companies. You can sabotage, and you can merge companies as well as all other kinds of illicit tactics and licit ones like agreeing to merge, just make sure you let the other person respond in kind. If they let you sabotage or not that's their prerogative.
No one line IC posts
No OOC in the IC (or if you have to, use parenthesis and breaks).
This isn't a NS sports thread mostly because you will get to use the characters of your company (one of the racers or the director) mostly to make your own decisions. You can have all the NPC characters you like, but your main can only be either one of the racers or the director of your company. The plot is basically made from one of the characters rather than from a company to company point of view.
Everyone will start at the C class and move accordingly up the classes using upgrades and whatnot that can be played out IC or timeskipped. Whenever a ship goes up in class please do post the new stats in the IC as test benchmarks.
Addendum:
You don't have to use Wipeout-only companies. You can also be creative and create a unique one (thank you Apple-loosa for asking!)

Company name: Qirex Research and Development
Location: Russia
Year founded: 2051
Motto: "High Speed Revolution"
Company logo:
Consortium: AG Consortium
Racers:
Name: Charles Treyarch
Age: 21
Short story: The grandson of the F7000 league racer Carlos Lorenzo Alarcon, he made quick progress in his career in the junior Russian AG Challenge as he created a personal ship. Qirex was so interested in his model that they decided to give him a chance to join if he would give the company the rights to manufacture it. Charles did not hesitate in doing so. His family was proud of him and they decided to hold a party. Now, several years later when the F7200 was to be held again, he knew this was his chance to prove again his family honor.
Name: Anfisa Volkov
Age: 20
Short Story: A newcomer to the league, she has a talent for technical things. Her mother, an executive for Qirex, talked with the director and he accepted Anfisa into the company. Her prowess in the testing track and in the simulations made her apt to test their new ships on the road for the F7200. He and Charles have a natural synergy proved by the tests made in the simulations and other training provided. Her dream is to see herself and Charles to become champions of the F7200 league.
Director:
Name: Feliks Levovich
Age: 65
Short Story: The man who succeeded the previous director, he gained notoriety as one of the supporters of the original vision of AG research: to provide a better future and more accessible methods of energy to the populace through their research as well as have fun in the track. He pretty much looks at AG Systems as a close ally, whereas he looks warily at Tigron and their racers. He feels there's something deeper going on in the league but he cannot pinpoint it.
Personal track:
Description: the personal track made by Qirex is one of the fastest in the world. It has many curves and it boasts the size of several hundred kilometers. The fastest time ever achieved in this race has been around 3 minutes/lap by Charles. He has been the fastest record holder by Quirex in the track and now they are opening this track to be used in the F7200.
Backstory of the Company:
Qirex was a company created in Russia in 2051 by a man by the name of Yuri Volkov, the link to Anfisa is unknown. They started as a great company and they won one AG tournament after another. However, after a freak accident where both the pilots of an experimental craft were killed in mid-race, Qirex decided to retire quietly to the background for the safety of everyone else. It took them 50 years in order to reconsider entering again. When they did Levovich began to transfer resources to build the new ship, the Interceptor AX-7; which is a prototype C-Class ship. Their dreams of entering again in a competition was realized and now all they want is to become as good as other companies that may be older and certainly as good a Trigon, their national competitor and consortium rivals.
Ship Model:
Interceptor AX-7
Specs:
Max speed: 739.78MPH/1190.56KPH
Thrust: 8760N
Handling: 27 degrees/msec std
Shields: 3856 SUG
Class: C
Description: The prototype ship by Qirex. This flagship is the result of years of research in the field and in the laboratory. Charles and Anfisa have been the most suited ones to control it, and basically the cockpit and entire model has been designed around their driving styles. They created two, as they wanted both Charles and Anfisa to be able to be teammates but be independent as well as fierce but friendly competitors. The weapon of choice is a weak laser beam as well as short-distance lasers and a grade I stun shield. Much of the technology to create these ships has been experimental, as such there is no real benchmark on the real performance in the F7200.

Preity Zingar, 33, director of Resinga Billiyom is the daughter of afluence. She's the sole heir to the Zingar-Kajol fortune. Lost her parents at a young age, tutored by her uncle, Raj since 8, she has been groomed to take over of Zingar Industries and survive in the jungle of India's corporate world. She's headstrong and rather ruthless when necessary.
Some say she accepted the direction of Resinga Billiyom put of boredom.
Anushka Khan, alias Cat, 21, is a daredevil, on wheels, on air, on water. From a working class Amritsar family, she always knew she was happiest while on wheels, or airborne, as the cases presented themselves. She joined Overtel's flight program when she was 20 years old, excelling at her craft in a short time, rising to the top of her mostly male class quite fast. A tidbit that always cause problems for the young cat.
She's the last member to join Resinga Billiyom.
Arjun Hayat, 34 and of the late Hayat Consortium in Kanyakumari, was born to pilot, was born to race. This reclusive individual spearheaded the Overtel flight program. Arjun, much to his credit, is also the designer of the Bappa Billi racer line. Needless to say, he's very much looking forward to the upcoming tests.
He was the first member to join RB in instructor and racer capacity after Zingar.

Some say she accepted the direction of Resinga Billiyom put of boredom.
Anushka Khan, alias Cat, 21, is a daredevil, on wheels, on air, on water. Magna Mare:
diagram+appearance
Max speed: up to 731.92MPH/KPH
Thrust: up to 8221N
Handling: 25 degrees/msec std
Shields: 3950SUG
The Magna Mare or "the Great Sea"(referring to the Adriatic Sea), is Ariminum's first entry into racing and the commercial market for anti-gravity vehicles, specifically armed and armored cars. While it is a more bulky design and is not as swift as other cars, it makes up in durability and armament. The Magna Mare is armed with a dual light laser emitter, both attached beneath the pronged ends of the car, along with one concussion mine hidden in its underbelly.
Role IC (racer, director; if other make an app here for said character):
(plot device)Aelera Reggati: The director for Ariminum. Aelera was born into the company, with her father and her grandmother before him being the directors for Ariminum and its AG racing. She controls it with a solidly gripped iron fist. Aelera tends to flaunt around in Ariminum's newest technology. Her cold demeanor strikes fear into many of her employees, which had resulted in the firing of multiple racers due to 'behavioral issues'. Aelera struggles to find a connection with Armando, whom she values not only as an important person in Ariminum, but to her as well.
(main)Armando Buroc: A Italian-French racer for Ariminum. Interested in AG racing since he was a little boy, he always traveled to Overtel's races and stowed away there for days, constantly getting in trouble with the police and his own parents. It was his dream to become an AG racer for Overtel, and once he finished education, he went straight to the most available Overtel-affiliated company, which was Ariminum at the time. Slowly advancing in the AG racing ranks, Armando found himself at the top. Even while he has achieved his dream, he still feels a longing for something bigger and better, whatever that might be. Armando also finds Aelera's advances humorous and tries to stay at a distance, not sure how to react to her feelings towards him.

Emilia Kristiansen
Age: 29
Born in Oslo, Norway she was daughter to a rich and wealthy family, both parents being corporate big shots. They wanted her to follow in their footsteps, however Emilia had a longing for something less....well boring. A itch that could not be tickled by signing paperwork and scheduling meetings. Something that was a lot more dangerous. She enlisted to be a fighter pilot in the Norwegian Air Force, and was damn good at it too. But due to Norway not being a country that was in a lot of wars, she rarely flew. Thats where the F7200 League came into play, something that would test her skills as a fighter pilot, and give her the adrenaline rush she is looking for.
Mathias Solberg
Age: 24
Younger than his counterpart, Emilia, he's still relatively a novice at racing, but showing promise. His skill lies in the craft itself, he's a keen engineer and knows most common models of racers inside and out. He got into the racing league by meeting Emilia by chance one day when he was on a training course at the airbase she was stationed at. They got talking about F7200 and both got hooked on the idea of creating their own team.
Director (appearance if possible):
Jonathon Kozak
Age: 42
One of Mathias's long term friends and contacts, he used to be a racing director for Formula one teams before the Anti Gravity League became popular. A freak mishap during one of the races got a driver killed and several more injured, Kozak believed this to be his fault and so his career was cut short due to him spiraling into a depression, he moved to Oslo and worked as a mechanic for a while before meeting Mathias, who constantly talked about F7200. Kozak was reluctant at first, but due to perseverance he accepted the job as team director.

Laksefjord Ice flats is a track built in the snowy ice lakes of Norway, a simple track with a few high banks and loops darting in and out of massive ice cliffs.
Backstory of the company (timeline mode or paragraph mode if you want):
Founded in 2156 by three people. Mathias Solberg, Emilia Kristansen and Jonathon Kozak through a combined love for speed and thrill. Though their funding weak, they purchased a small pre-owned craft and competed in various novice events, rising ranks and quickly becoming a Maverick in the novice leagues, though their numbers small and not very well known, they netted podium positions in multiple events. They gained sponsorship for the professional league through AG consortium and with enough sponsorship money to hire more staff and buy a decent craft they started their rise to fame.

Anil Kapoor, Director
Anil Kapoor comes from a well-established Australian family which immigrated here from India many generations ago. While he does not have much of a relationship to his relatives in the Indian racing circuits, his family independently became involved in managing AntiGrav Australian racing teams since the very start, with his grandfather having married the star racer of the racing teams he helped to develop as a league manager for a number of community teams, as both a coordinator for matches and an advisor for team management. Over time, they taught their children - Anil's father, aunts, and uncles - the ins and outs of anti-grav racing, and they eventually started to work with the Calder Thunderdome management in developing their racetrack from 'F7200 compliant' to 'F7200 famous', as a go-between for the independent AntiGrav league. Anil Kapoor learned a lot from every aspect of his family's business in AntiGrav, and eventually got his first job at the Calder Thunderdome, being hired by AAA as the founder of the RAACA when they bought out the Thunderdome.
He is still reputed as the most hands-on Director in the F7200 league.
Personal Track (optional): The Calder Thunderdome, one of the oldest F7200 compliant racetracks in the world. It was originally refurbished by the Australian Automobile Association (AAA) to try and recover the long-dead Australian automobile industry, by competing against the Japanese industry which was still at the time mainly geared for traditional automobiles. However, when I say mainly, I still mean more industrial capacity than the entire Australian continent, and so the Thunderdome became a Melbourne institution for second-hand, revamped, off-the-record antigravity racing by independent racers, having originally been a [OOC: real] failed NASCAR track. Eventually, the AAA started to offer insurance to these independent racers, then sponsorships, and finally recruited some of the best and brightest racers, engineers, and team managers to the new RAACA, alongside a couple somewhat competitive second-hand racecars.
Backstory of the company (timeline mode or paragraph mode if you want): The Australian Amateur AntiGrav league first started in the same year the AG Consortium did, in 1948. AAAGL was originally created as an independent amateur anti-gravity training group for mechanics and pilots, allowing well-funded community organizations to fund a single car and a pair of drivers - a star driver and an engineer driver. This structure would stick. Even today, the new RAACA utilizes two drivers to a car, both as a back-up, and as a long-term partnership to allow one driver to observe and advise the other's approach to each race. A driving team is, therefore, a star driver, an engineer driver, and a crew co-ordinator who coordinates the activities of the entire driving crew, including pit-crew, medical, and security officials. The large size of the teams is a throwback to the AAAGL, where large communities would still only be able to get so many wealthy sponsors, and so would contribute many committed and capable Antigrav Amateurs to the league, either for their own team or any team which had room.
Now, however, it serves to fund the RAACA, with entire crews being committed to studying every aspect of professional racing, and to buy and sell second-hand antigrav cars to small amateur leagues across the world. These crews work full-time for RAACA as engineers, mechanics, and researchers, the vast majority of them self-taught or having been apprentices for RAACA through work experience arrangements with tertiary and secondary students who could have been interested in everything from aerospace to maintaining Australia's famous landtrains.
AAAGL first started to use the Calder Thunderdome in partnership with the AAA in 2064, until then having hired various straightaways in the Outback and having been reputed as one of the few racing leagues in the world to exclusively use straightaways, rather than lap races. The harsh weather conditions and the need to effectively rebuild cars after every race led to Australia's tradition of great engineering and aggressive pilots, with damage to the cars being effectively a moot point given that the entire car would become caked with dust and dirt regardless. This led to Australia being renowned as one of the best sources of amateur, refurbished 'Interceptor-lite' C-Class racers for amateur leagues, being designed specifically for easy upgrading to specialized aggressive-driving C-Class cars in a few international "Australian Rules Driving" leagues, fondly (or derogatorily) known as "Antigrav Dodgem". However, as a new team, AAAGL's sales are still just to keep it above water, only being able to itself field the Clyde, a brand-new C-Class, with even its test driving at Calder being televised and open to spectators.

The Clyde: The Clyde is a totally rebuilt W-Class tram. An old Melbourne icon, it was originally supposed to be a gimmick historical design. However, the engineers quickly realized that their experience in building anti-grav racers had lent itself well to the chassis they had designed to, originally, refurbish one of the ancient relics, and rebuilt it into an only superficially similar W-Class. The result, the Clyde, is considered one of the more rugged racers in the league, designed to hold up to harsh Australian weather - but, perhaps as a throwback to its past as a Melbourne tram, is not exactly the fastest beast in the league.

Company name: Río Azul Incorporated
AKA:Río Inc.
Year founded: 2155
Location: Miami, Florida, USA
Motto: If wining was easy, anyone could do it
Company Logo:
Consortium: AG All da way, foo's
Racers: Nino Cadavieco / Marcos Delarose
Ninos Bio
A notorious party-goer, he's the youngest of the Cadavieco clan(a family who owns half of Miami and dabs into numerous businesses, both legal and illegal). His eldest brother is the CEO of Río Azul and said company's race division. Nino's a pleasure and thrill-seeker, happy-go-lucky suave guy who cares little about what the media or others say about him. At times he can be quite stubborn and he is known to have it in for certain racers. His attitude can sometimes get the best of him, but he's quite a good person nonetheless. A fan of racing from a very young age, this guy's got potential; some say he's a star in the making. At 19 years of age, his youth will most certainly get the best of him and he has yet to prove he's got the maturity of a champion. His blatant promiscuity and love of both men and women is notoriously well known. This young man isn't afraid of using all he's got, both in the track and out of it, to make sure he wins the race.
[Marcos Bio]
Leader of Río Azul's racing team, he's got quite the talent to be a racer. He is far more mature for his age than the average and he's well centered. Marcos keeps his private life to himself and indeed the media does leave him be (centering on the more eccentric Nino), but it is know that he's bisexual. His family, the Delarose clan, is notorious for delving in illegal criminal activities, but, for the most part, their fortune is composed of legal business practices (albeit quite unjust). It is because of the Delarose's businesses that the family has garnered quite a few enemies. It wouldn't be a surprise if said enemies appear at the race track. At 25, this young man, a lover of knowledge and all things cultural and especially racing, has got his priorities straight. He's intent on making racing's hall of fame.
Director: Quistis Trepe - Alternative
[Quistis Bio]
The dashingly beautiful 20 year old face behind Río Azul's racers, this femme fatale (a mystery to those who do not know her personally) is the brains behind the wheels of Río Inc.'s racing division. Due to her quiet assertiveness, stoic nature and restraint, few people take the trouble to view her as the young woman she still is and so, she's forced to mull over her thoughts and worries alone. She is disciplined, smart, willful, and quite the analytic person; all her decisions are based on the information at her disposal. She was placed as Director of the team at Nino's brother's behest but don't let that fool you; Quistis has done quite well in making a name for herself. She comes from an unimportant middle-class family but she was an alumni of one of the nation's most prestigious academies, she was known as a prodigy of sorts. Quistis' favorite facial cream is Original Madame Gallade's Gallade-au-serpent facial snake-oil, Guaranteed to be the only one-in-all facial cream to work. She's a fan of high-fashion and can constantly be seen with any of the assorted Madame Gallade's beauty products. Not much is truly known about her secret life, but something is apparent; this lady's got one goal in mind: "Get the job done, without failure".
