Funnily enough, my Navy maintains a stockpile of WWII and earlier era vessels for those times when the fan is vaporized in a nuclear fireball before the crap can even hit it. I've been wanting an excuse to use one of my semi-updated Gearing-class destroyers.
Though a Littoral Combat Ship might be a better fit for a boarding operation, since it can carry helicopters and a small Marine detachment as a mission crew. And a smaller crew means there's fewer people I have to keep track of.

Or actually really, really my specialty. As in actual job IRL.
I will knowledge-duel anyone for this position if it comes to that. Come at me, bro.
Seeing as the Longsword has eight reactors and by modern standards should have roughly 800-1,600 nuclear operators, it'd easily be done as two people in charge of them; you can have a Forward and Aft Reactor Officer and split Reactor Department up into two sections.

I'm not going to challenge you to that.

Anyways, I have created and thought of some decent roles to be filled in each team.
Longsword:
Command - Basically in command of the ship and its actions
Engine room - R&C wants this
Reactor room - Phartan the smartan
Anti-boarding ops
Missile ops
RADAR ops
Canteen???/support I guess
Hospital/medical
other shit

Enemy force gets a little more freedom in what they get to play. As Mitheldalond said, he wanted to play an LHD contingent.
Since this was all originally Mithel's idea, I reckon that the "Enemy Force" should be Mitheldalondian in nationality, and maybe one or two other nationalities as part of a coalition against the Longsword.
Oh and preferably should keep it to one or two ships
Anyways, a list of the Enemy Force
I wanted to play a crippled carrier as a command force; the fore deck has been hit by missiles, which destroyed the main catapults and thus the carrier can't launch main aircraft. Helicopters, though. Anyway, the carrier will act as the main command vessel for the Enemy Force.
LHD played by Mitheldalond
Battleship(s) played by IASM
Supply ships also by IASM
Kouralia???
Some frigates
A sub
Other ships
