To phrase this less awkwardly: What REAL LIFE country (if applicable) did your nation secede/split/evolve/restructure from?

Hydronium is what happens when the ancient Ethiopian Orthodox state of Axum/Aksum is refounded with a large Islamic and Buddhist population in the southeast/west, respectively.

USA (8 Supercities), but we've spread to Canada (2 Supercities), Mexico (1 Supercity), Cuba (1 Supercity), and Central America (1 Supercity).

Absolutely none. It's a mashup of the political position, government and freewheeling culture of the US with a history similar to China and geography like that of an island Canada moved a hundred or two miles south. Not to mention the inclusion of magic and dragons.

However a Syria style rebellion is going on, battles are being fought in cities all over the country every day.

The Scientific States broke apart from the Kalmar Union in 1502.

The Union is largely a socialist reimagining of the United States of America. In its universe, it occupies the entirety of Earth, even Antarctica (which exists as a jungle-like version of the archipelago it really is.)

A mix of the Philippines and Germany.

Darmen was formed by some extremely lost Norwegian Crusaders.

Lancov exists in a parallel universe similar to RL, but slightly different due to the fact that Lancov exists. It originated from the Byzantine Empire (which collapsed much earlier than in RL) and resisted Turkish conquests by forming an alliance with the Austro-Hungarians and Greece.

On NSEarth, Themiclesia is an ancient state situated on the borders of the Orient and the West, influenced by both.

It is westerly enough to be ravaged by the great migration of Germans, and easterly enough to be visited by Chinese and Indian sages.
