Rekven Ulgar was a newly appointed Major in the ranks of the Russian Alliance. However, his happiness was short lived, as the vanguard of the Zombie horde was fast approaching the base camp of the Russian Alliance's troops, located in Moscow. The Zombie horde had arisen unexpectedly, a result of toxic pollution and a deadly virus. The Russian Alliance's main base camp contained around 15,000,000 men, with the remaining 20,000,000 troops in Dmitrov, a town 60 kilometers north of Moscow, acting as reinforcements. The horde was nearly 30,000,000 strong, and the Russian Alliance in Moscow would be severely outnumbered until their other troops arrived. However, the Russians were very crafty, and had picked a position easily defended: A hilltop. The hill was about 50 feet high, and ringed with steep slopes and rocky outcrops, making approach both difficult and obvious to the troops on top. Major Ulgar strode through the lines of tents, nodding to the soldiers as they looked up, saluting him, then going back to whatever they were doing: cleaning weapons, eating, or just daydreaming. Ulgar knew that the troops would fight viciously, as they were not only fighting for their lives; but because they were fighting for their homeland. Days ago, international radio calls had been made by the Russian Government to all national superpowers, pleading for assistance versus this new, and horrible adversary. Shouldering his stealth-black, scoped AK108 assault rifle, he entered the Command Tent. Settling into a chair to the side, he listened to General Barshiknov and Colonel Tzurver argue about the number of machine gun nests to be established on the front-zone, facing the city. After they agreed on 30 nests, they turned to Ulgar, who saluted them both, and then asked: "When will the enemy arrive?". A long pause followed. Finally, General Barshiknov replied: "3 days. Then it begins."
