Improved Dossier

Postby Fit battion » Sat Nov 07, 2009 1:33 pm

Idea No. 1: I was thinking it might be pretty useful to be able to fit a little message next to regions/nations in your dossier, maybe a max of about 210 characters. It would be useful as I sometimes forget why I have certain nations dossiered, for example I have a set of raiders in my dossier but I also have a number of defenders and a few citizens of my main regions who I like to keep tags on.

Idea No. 2: Or maybe you could be able to create categories of dossiers. So when you click on the dossiers page you would be able to create new categories and instead of having a list of all nations/regions. Then when you press on one of those different categories you would be shown a list of all the nations/regions that you have listed under that category. You could call them whatever you wished and have as many as you want (well if it takes up space maybe a maximum of 5 of each), it would just give a more organised look.

For me it would have (sorry I didn't make a mock-up, i don't have graphical skills):

Regions In Dossier

- Founderless Regions
- Feeders
- Raider Regions
- Defender Regions
- Late Updating Regions
- My Regions

Nations In Dossier

- Known Raider Puppets
- Citizens of Interest
- Defender Nations
- Regional Ambassadors

I just thought I'd stick it out there, I know it definately isn't very important but it's something I'd like to see sometime in the future.

LEARN HOW TO BE A DEFENDER

FRA are running a major training mission open to anyone who is interested in learning how to defend. There is no need to be part of FRA or any other military organisation, everyone is welcome.

I'd love to see either (or both) suggestions implemented. I know its not a particularly high priority thing, and that raiders will probably argue against (since dossiers are generally - though not exclusively - more useful for defenders), but it would be helpful for defenders, raiders (if they thought about it), and for those not involved in either too.

i also agree. it would help us to determine which nations are a threat to our society. in saying that, i support any movement in an improved dossier.

Why not make a database of know raiders, that can be accessed from your dossier?
Defcon: (1) 2 3 4 5
Military: 4% || 1.5% reserves
Malkovian Nation Stats
Malkovian colonies: Wasteland5
Current Conflicts: None
Alliances: SCUTUM
CAPINTERN
Armed Forces: 33% of standing army; 30% of reservists
Home Land Defense: 10% of standing army; 40% of reservists
Air Force: 10% of standing army; 5% of reservists
Navy: 35% of standing army; 20% of reservists
Black Ops: 8% of standing army; 0% of reservists
Batlefield Technicians: 1.5% of standing army; 5% of reservists
Battlefield Medics: 1.5% of standing army; 5% of reservists
Sentinels: 1% of standing army; 0% of reservists

I already have that, but this would improve the dossier so I know which ones are those raiders, as I have many normal citizens and other people that I watch on there.

Any more opinions on either idea?

I think it's a good idea. More organization has never hurt anyone. You could classify the nations based on their "status" and put them into a group, kind of like a tab. I'd love to see this implemented.
"Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité."
Prime Minister of The Alliance.
