Pieter II of Krijg-Leeuw was preparing the invasion of Hungary and the Kipchak Khanates. He had been sending spies for over two years. The Kingdom of Krijg-Leeuw had started off as a small kingdom in the north of Scandinavia. Pieter's father had conquered Finland, and
Karelia; after coming to power, Pieter had destroyed the republic of Novgorod and had taken control of the kingdom of Poland after overunning Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Prussia. Mostly with the help of his most able generals: Jan van Berent, Karl van Berent and Kholho Kil. Thanks to excellent roads and an excellent mail system, communication was very easy. So far, spies had informed him of two possible competitors for power in the area: The Bladian Empire and Solm but there was still plenty of land in between, so Pieter was not yet concerned. Although they were a nomadic people, their vassal states were mainly sedentary which meant that they were able to produce more effective weaponry as well as luxuries. The available soldiers included Krijg-Leeuwan mounted archers and mounted lancers, Finnish mounted axemen, Polish light and heavy lancers, Lithuanian knights, Rus heavy mailed cavalry, and Prussian mounted men at arms. During invasions, the army was often aided by mercenaries, local soldiers and siege engineers recruited form conquered towns. The military command was based on merit although some members of the royal family were made military commanders. Conquered soldiers were kept loyal by allowing freedom of religion and treating every soldier equally. Local governments were allowed to remain in place as long as they did not revolt against their overlords.

As the king admired the map placed on the table:

Image

His empire had conquered the Mediterranean, a crucial point for all powers in the world. Solm had the best fleet in the world, equipped with the best technology and trained men. Solm was a trading nation, becoming ever rich with the taxes it places on boats coming in from the Mediterranean. All the riches and spices from the east came through the Mediterranean. As well as all other boats from the Mediterranean.

The King ruled a great navy, a powerful one. The King was smart. He made treaties with neighboring countries, to be able to great better welfare for his nation. He placed a piece of paper on his desk and began righting a letter to the Bonnaful Empire.

To the Ruler of Bonnaful.

At Solm, we currently rule the Mediterranean as well as parts of Africa. We currently hold the sea and rule it with a strong navy.

We have similar goals. I propose an treaty, and we will lower the taxes placed on your boats in the sea so you can travel more freely. And we will work together militarily in order to secure the whole sea and parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Thank You,
The Empire of Solm

The King signed the letter and gave it to a servant, it will be sent on a ship, to Bonnaful. The king laughed, he ruled the Mediterranean well, no nation could compete with him on the sea. But, on land, that was a different story, he had a poor army. He didn't even them out very well.

OOC: Could we have a key of some sort of the map? I think it would help. and Bonnaful you were the one with that holds Israel and that area?

"God king I have a message from our friends in the west and they want to be a military ally to us and they will lower taxes on our navy boats" said a soldier that rush into the kings thone room. "Yes I want a ally with a strong navy and with them and our strong ground forces we will take all of this world" said the king. I also to launch our attack on on the northern countrys to the north of us with the Bettle warriors and the mounted cross bow soldiers. I also want to invade those puny raiding country to the south of us with the cosraick mounted soldiers and the newest long sword men"said the king as he handed him the note to slom and the military attack note to his personal military gerenal zulu.

As the Naval boat returned with a easy journey with the message from Bonnaful. The ship was greeted with three horsemen who took the letter and rode to the palace.

As the King sat in the dining room discussing strategies with his advisors, the men swung open the door and gave the letter to the King. The men bowed and left. The King opened the letter and read it to himself, Bonnaful agreed to the treaty and they were starting invasions. King Hunt (the King), studied the message again, rereading it. Hunt discussed the letter with the same advisor, the men did not fear to insult or disagree with the King. For King Hunt did not punish for that, he enjoyed debates and appreciated inputs from his staff. He did not like having the only voice.

The advisor pointed out flaws with many of the King's ideas until they agreed on one, Hunt got up and walked over to the door to his General's quarters. He did not appoint General's on their wealth or power but on their strategy and military strength. This made his General's stronger than most of their time and smarter.

Hunt told the General his plan of backing up the Bonnaful's invasions by the Sea. The General showed his agreement by nodding his head and walked out of the room. The General opened the palace's doors and hopped on his horse. He nodded to the guardsmen as he picked up to a trot as they opened the wide castle doors. The General rode down to the military port to discuss plans and objectives with his colleagues.

Jicaur raced through the complex corridors of the palace, late for the unusually early court, several hours earlier then usual. The rice merchants guild had spent ages trying to change imperial tariffs and as the official weight bearer or Palaun-paur of the kingdom it was his responsibility, partly they delayed him for so long in the knowledge that rushing him may result in a beneficial agreement for them. But now that he had managed to stave of the greed of the guildsmen, he had needed to change into a robe more appropriate for his station as the Mataranm's high advisor. Now he was a quarter of an hour late, with the lower emperors waiting on him for the court to begin. The previous Mataranm would have ordered him executed for such arrogance, but as he had been a mentor to the young high-emperor since an early age he was allowed to be indulged. That said there were still limits.

He burst through the finely carved ivory and gilded bands on the enormous doors to one of the palaces many courts. As he shuffled in his elaborate robe towards the huge throne that dominated the room, hundreds of solemn courtiers surrounding it, he kow-towed towards with such viscousness that his headpiece almost detached itself. Bounding up the last several steps, he halted next to high-emperor; rigid as protocol demanded, yet breathing heavily with the effort.

'So old man it seems you have spurned your sire's request.' opened the Mataranm quitely
'Sorry my leige...just...let me.. catch my...breath.'
'Well as you wait you can listen,' he began in eloquent High-Javian, 'we have began to open negotiations with the Chinese warlords, not only does this deprive the rice guild of its considerable influence, but also we could begin future expansion into the north, though an expansion of the armed forces will be needed. This an enormous opportunity and it gives us the ability to play off the far northern empires against one another, allowing us to benefit from the trade such a war will bring, but also to cement our control over china. Our spy rings will need to be activated, we shall try to create such a situation...'
Jicaur, who had now recovered, interrupted 'Sire, although you are learning rulership of the empire quickly, you must not forget that the empire is relatively fragile, with many great families, houses and guilds will not support such a move if it is against their best interests. Though you plan well, this should wait, also I may recommend discretion when talking off it, we do not want the empire to know as off yet. Now off to more practical concepts, shall we discuss the trade treatises from the westerners?'

Of the hundreds of courtiers who stood around the man at the centre of the empire, catering to his every whim and need, playing of against each other for the favour of their emperor, none heard the small exchange between the advisor and emperor at the start of a lengthy day in court.

---

OOC: Should we perhaps set up pages for each of the empires and are the uninhabited regions civilized?

King Hunt walked slowly through the palace, finding his way to his quarters. He had a long day, and it was time to rest. He had ordered his navy to deport on conquest, he liked Bonnaful's idea of giving him southern greece, as its rich olives would prove plentiful for trade. And King Hunt only cared about land touching the sea.

As he opened the wide doors were men stood at post, he glanced at the clean room. It had not been clean when he left it, but that is a perk of kinghood. Hunt placed his elegant crown on the pillow, disengaged himself from the robe and placed it on a chair. He stood in normal clothes now, not having a single notice of being King. He liked it that way.

King Hunt, in his casual clothes, walked out of the palace, with no guards, sneaking out the servants entrance. He walked in the streets of the city, only a few people recognized him. He bought bread from the local merchants and was amazed at the quality. He looked around, his citizens were plentiful, rarely was their poverty. Ruling the sea had brought his citizens many perks.

King Hunt walked back up to his castle, surveying how it looked from the outside, beautiful, graceful, strong, and powerful. A nice mix. He walked back in, through the servants entrance, a guard shouted at him for being late, King Hunt laughed, that guard would be fired. You shall not yell and hurt the men who work for you.

King Hunt turned around and said "You shall be fired this instance!" he continued, so that all the guards could hear, "You shall not yell and hurt the men who work for you!" Although King Hunt was yelling now, he said, "Out with You! Tell the officer what happened to you, he will deem a punishment worthy of your failure." King Hunt was a very nice and lenient king, but some stuff ticked him off, but he thought this was a good thing he did, and the servants will like him for it.

On a Naval Boat near the opening from the sea to the Atlantic

The boat swayed over to catch the southern wind, moving closer to the unidentified ship. Most likely a trade ship. The captain moved to the prow, they were in shouting distance, "Reduce Your Speed and come to a Halt!" he added, "This is the Solmian Navy."

The boat obeyed, not wanting to be destroyed, they know that Solm ruled the sea. When the boats reached into boarding distance some men onboard the Solm ship boarded the other ship. They gave words and small talk before declaring that the tariffs must be paid on your boat. The boat was bringing spices into the sea to trade with the rich Mediterranean men. The tariffs were high on spices that were not going to Solm, itself.

However, the men onboard the trading ship relunctly obeyed and allowed the Solm soldiers to search their boat. When the captain was satisfied he left the boat and bid them farewell and he continued his duty to guard the small border and collect taxes.

OOC: I think that lands where no body claims would have spread out villages hear and there, so you incorporate that into your RP, but I don't think they would have adequate arms.

OOC: No, When it was divided into city states was idk, somewhere BC or real early AD it is 1300 now, England is a major power (in real history) so Greece I think would be just a nation that depends on their olives, with little villages everywhere.

As Shalin entered the great hall, King Munwa called,"Shalin! So good to see you! What news do you bring from our allies, the Morongoto Tribe?"
"They fear that Arbia may try and strike them. They wish for protection."
As the King got off his throne and passed the Great Hall, he considered his actions. Then he finally spoke," Offer them that we will absorb them into the Kingdom. Then I want the defenses to be readied in case of attack."
"Yes my liege. I shall run off and tell them."
"Good. Don't forget to tell Mombosso to make sure he takes Sharist for his walk. Lions get oftly restless without proper exercise."
"Yes my liege."

The Slom boats that were taking the arabiaina soldiers to greece was only three hours away from the coast of greece. "Captian I want you to get close to athens harbour and my men will take it from their but will you offer us sea support in case we needed it"yelled gerenal Kofi. "Men make sure your bows strings are tight because when we arrive we might face enemys from a distance if we get in the row boats"yelled kofi who was the leader of the kofi knights.

Meanwhile in yemen

"lauched the arrows said" the bow and arrow master. The number of arrow that were launched blacked out the sun and killed any men on the fort walls giving the foot soldiers time to get to the gate and knock the poorly made gate down.

The Solm fleet slowly made their way, carving carefully through the water, carrying the large amount of Arbian soldiers. They slowly reduced in speed and came to a halt near the coastline. The large fleet hastily but quietly helped the arbian soldiers get down to the rowing boats. They bid them farewell, as they then departed the ships to attack the city.

The Solm soldiers took up their positions finding high spots on each boat, they picked up their bow, lit it on fire, and fired. Round after round the huge fleet fired, every single man. It was a great sight, The flames burning in the nights air. Athens will be in for a surprise. The arrows landed, and landed hard. Fires started sprouting up, and you could barely see them from the boats. The soldiers fired again, every single one. The Arbia soldiers would be reaching the coast soon, and start the main attack. Now Athens was lit up, the fire arrows had prevailed. But, Arbia will face the full force of Athens.

Athens no longer had the strong navy they once did, they were taken over by Sparta, then Solm. Solm now was the master of the sea, no one could compete with them on land. Now, that they had a strong army as an alliance it was perfect, Arbia could handle the land wars while Solm handled the Naval wars.

"Men get off the boats and kill any one that has a weapon" said gerenal kofi. The army number at 45,000 men and 20,000 were kofi knights. The athens soldiers who were now with out modern weapons were at the mercy of the knights who quick kill many of them. Keep moving and I want the sand dragon and his men to take the place as we take the city said kofi as he killed a athen soldier who was coming him with a bronze sheild and a little 2 foot sword. The knights battle with the atheian soldiers who had more men then they did but kofi and his men got them into a kill box. The arrows from the ships killed who ever was in the kill box and the knights got the rest.

Mean while at the palace

"Men kill them"said the sand dragon as he grab a athenian soldier and stab him in his neck. The sand dragon's soldiers quickly made short work with the athenian soldiers. One of the soldiers pick up a athenian soldier and bit his neck and tore out his Arteries. "Search for the king and bring him to me and kill anyone who stands in your way men"said the sand dragon" as he kicked down a door and killed a soldier hiding behinded it.

Jicaur had once more been summoned to the High-Emperors court, but this time in the less official company of his private quarters. As he strode into the small court, he saw the Mataranm sitting upon a modest dais, but without the usual splendid robes, instead in a simple kimono. He stood up to greet his first advisor, his legs shaking from a lifetime sitting.
'As we discussed before, I have come to seek your advice on a small idea, especially after the conference from the western merchants. After their show of a rich display of wares and the bounties of their countries, both sea-wise and agricultural, we have the opportunity to trade with some of the richest countries in the west, and the possibility of rich treasures from the African continent. I propose we set a base on the island of Sumatra and another on Madagascar, this gives the advantage of us including the Indian ocean within our dominion, and the possibility of expanding into India'
'My Liege, that is genius, the idea of small settlements contributing greatly to our trading capacity is incredible, and expansion into India is desirable, as Chinese conquest may have to wait as we realise that the Emphasalic Empire has a large proportion of interests there, a treaty may be possible to drive the barbarian tribesmen from central Asia.'
'Noted, I take that as your approval, I shall bring it up with the lower-emperors tomorrow and the high council tomorrow.'

--

OOC: In other words, I annex Sumatra and a small portion of Southern India and Madagascar. Although these are rather small settlements dependent upon the local peoples and trade income for survival, surmounting the problem of distance. It also allows me to begin trading with Solm and Arbia (trade treaty forthcoming) and the Mutawati, the reason for the Madagascar colony

Location: Onekawa-Nuknor, New Zealand,North Island, not far from the capital Pa Tumatauenga

Chieftain Toa looked across the ocean, his mind pondering the world beyond his rule, his thoughts were interrupted when a messenger came running towards him from the forests below, he stoped to catch his breath for a few moments when he announced "Chieftain I come with news, some of our villagers have spotted a large Moa nearby and I came to you so that you may hunt the animal, from the villagers descriptions this is a truly spectular animal and they thought that only the Chieftain had the right to kill the animal so to increase your impresseive mana"
" I will prepare at once, messenger go and tell my son to prepare my hunting equiment, he will be found in the nearby captial, go now!"
"What about you Chieftain?"
"I will follow you soon just get my things ready"
With that the messenger once more became hidden in the dense undergrowth.
The Chieftain looked at the ocean once more and pondered the rest of the world, he wondered how far across the waves other lands were from his home.
With that final thought he turned his back on the ocean and a shiver down his spine told him that the ocean had not seen the last him

As Jan and Karl Van Berent looked over the plains of Hungary below them, Kolho Kil was scanning the horizon for the sign of an enemy Kipchak army just north of Crimea and the Black Sea. Jan and Karl Van Berent were moving into Hungary to fight the Magyars while Kolho Kil prepared to conquer the Kipchak Khanate.

After taking a few small towns in north-eastern Hungary, Karl van Berent's army met the Hungarian royal army in battle just north of the Sajo river. The Hungarians were led by the crown-prince of Hungary as well as a number of Hungarian nobility. The 1 600 000 Krijg-Leeuw were 600 000 horse archers, 400 000 lancers, 100 000 cataphracts, 100 000 Hungarian horse archers and light cavalry, 200 000 Polish heavy and light cavalry, 100 000 other cavalry, and 100 000 scouts, footsoldiers, and siege engineers. The Hungarians were 1 000 000 strong and were composed of knights, foot archers, heavy and light infantry and crossbowmen. The Krijg-Leeuw horse archers commenced firing upon the enemy position, causing many enemy casaulties. Eventually the Hungarian heavy infantry and heavy cavalry charged the horse archers which pulled back, the enemy began pursuing only to suffer more casaulties as some of the Krijg-Leeuw heavy cavalry attacked from the flanks after the horse archers had fired another volley while retreating. All the rest of the heavy cavalry charged from the front and the flanks of the motionless light infantry and archers. Taken by surprise, the crossbowmen had no time to fire. The light infantry were soon broken and fleeing. The light Krijg-Leeuw cavalry killed off the fleeing enemies. Upon hearing news of the defeat, the Hungarian king surrendered to Karl van Berent who triumphantly marched into Pest. The king was allowed to remain in power as long as he paid tribute. The death toll of the campaign was high: 750 000 Hungarian soldiers were killed in total, and as was around 30% of the entire civilian population (mostly rurally)

The Kipchak campaign led by Kolho Kil was even swifter: reaching the enemy capital with little resistance within days of setting out. The enemy khan also quickly surrendered and promised to pay tribute in return for keeping his throne. With these troublesome realms under his control, Pieter turned his gaze to the east, and more specifically, to China. He recalled, Karl van Berent and Kolho Kil from their respective campaigns and told them of his plan to move east. They agreed and started planning the campaign, Kolho would be in charge of the general campaign, whilst Karl was in charge of the smaller invasions and raids. First the rest of Khwarezmian Shahdom would be conquered followed by the Kara Khitai, and Tibet. Along the way various other tribes would be conquered as well as the lands to the north of Lake Baikal

Location: New Zealand, North island, somewhere in a podacarp forest

Chieftain Toa was hiding behind a fern, spear in hand, eyeing the animal in front of him, it was a truly massive Moa with a height of 3.2m making it the largest Moa he had ever seen, this bird was eating some berries from a nearby tree when Toa steeped quietly forward, a twig snapped underfootand and Toa swore mentally at himself for being so stuipd, the bird froze instanstly, then sprintied off in the opposite direction.

Toa got up right away and gave chase knowing that there was grassland of tussock nearby where it seemed the bird was heading, he knew that five other hunters where there and would make sure it would not escape so he could be the one to pierce its heart.

Ahead the bird eruptly broke through the forest and was running across the plains with Toa in hot pursuit when just after coming out of the forest a massive thumping was heard and something sharp grazed his back, he tumbled to the ground and instantly got on his back and again swore at himself for turing causing his back to hurt even worse, a massive eagle a Hokioi turned at him and he knew that after losing his spear when he fell it would kill him, he closed his eyes and waited for his death and thought where the other hunters had gone when a massive booming sound came from his left and there all 3.2m of moa was to his great immense suprise running full speed at the Hokioi, the crashing that happened seconds later was astounding with the Moa steeping all over the Eagle and afther a few more minutes of combat the Eagle was killed.
He was afraid that the bird was going to kill him but the loss of blood made him tired and he slowly drifited off to sleep.

The Moa to the surprise of the Hunters who eventually found him was sitting beside the Chieftain looking to everone there as if protecting the Chieftain while he was vulnerable
