Most famous Landmark in your nation?

Postby Kelamaj » Mon Oct 17, 2011 9:19 am

1. Most visited Landmark is 'The Forgotten Grave' possibly built by someone who was related to this deceased person. Words that are written in () are not accurate, they might be different.

Lying here (lies?) ((Name is Unreadable))
Born: (November?) (18th or 22nd?) 898
Died: (Unreadable) (Unreadable) (942?)

This grave has caused many to claim themselves to be descendants. No-one has ever found any relatives apart from one which is a close link to another grave which is slightly less popular.

The Memorial Stela of Tane'onahotuhotu. It was completed sometime in 900 C.E. It is made of volcanic basalt, and towers some 40 metres, and is of one piece. On the stela are carved the adventures of Tane'onahotuhotu, and his discovery of Polinikia. On the summit is a carved figure of a bat, today Polinkia's official symbol. The stela stands on a grassy hill, and the hill itself surrounded by fourteen white stones 20 metres high, each topped with a ball of red basalt, 5 metres in diametre. On each stone is carved the totem of one of the original canoes carrying the first settlers to Polinikia. What is remarkable, is that the shadow of the central stela stretchs to touch each stone as the sun moves across the sky, and the combined shadows form the totem found on the stone. It is considered a major insult to speculate that "space aliens" built this monument dedicated to the ancestors of Polinikia.

The Grand Temple of Missa Christi is the most visited landmark in the Holy Empire of Roman Patriarchy to this date and we do not profit from it.
Although being open to the whole public, only the High Cardinal and Emperor are aloud on the 2nd floor and only the Patriarch is aloud on the 3rd floor and in the right tower. The left tower is for public use.

Everywhere. The milky way is quite famous, though there are many stars, constellations and planets and galaxies that are famous.

The Main Refinery of Megatron Energon on Planet Cybertron. The golden glow of the just-finished Energon coursing through its clear stacks and the pipes leading from them can be seen for miles around at night on the ground or from the air.

Its glow is a welcoming beacon to raiders and others returning to Cybertron from hostile territory, letting them know that they can relax now - they are home again, and any hostile craft that may be tailing them will be taken care of by the Decepticon Military.

Alas, it's not a frequent destination for an actual visit. This is because it is in full operation, and due to Energon's other status as our money, it is extremely heavily guarded. Only refinery employees, guards, and high government officials are ever allowed inside its tall fences, though it has a small diner-like Quick Drink open to the public attached to its outer building.

We do have landmarks that are considered more deeply historic, but the Main Refinery is definitely the most famous place on the planet.

Statue depicting Leifr Eiríksson, brave sailor and founding father of our nation. There were other folks here, before us, ofcourse. We just happened to be the second migration wave from Europe.

Other than the statue, there are our vast forests.

First off, there is Dino Center, located in downtown Saurus City, which is five miles high.

Then, there is the Executive Tower, the center of the Saurisian Government:

There is also the Mausoleum of the Revolution, where the leaders of the Dinosaur Revolution (including our Founder, John the Triceratops) are entombed for all eternity:

There is Dinosaur Square in the center of Saurus City which is both a site for major celebrations as well as being the place where military parades are commonly held:

Finally, there is Blackwing Castle, the historic home of the Drakonic Royal Family:

Our Famous Landmarks include:

FigRep of HEP Mr. Smiles's Presidential Mansion. The property, being located at the tip of a long, thin and heavily-guarded peninsula, can only be accessed via boats to and from the tourist center on the tip of the peninsula where people can see from afar.
Image

The famous Castle Burz was never inhabited by royals, but built as a great fort to defend the military stationed there from the many bandits and outlaws back in the 18th century. Today its a major tourist attraction just a few minutes' drive from the mid-sized town of Mejjhenaok.
Image

But perhaps the most famous landmark of all would not be a single place, but many tiny ones. We here in Beiluxia are famous for literally bowing down to any statue, big or small, of His Eternal President Mr. Smiles. This one located along the capital's Bay of Lovers Waterfront Park is just an example of our beloved leader.
