Finally. Finally the ChenkorFoot League has a two-time champion: it's Vliegende Beigners F.C.! Previous season, the big winner of the competition was Club Vutbol Libridis. But still, they weren't the favourites this time; the big three of the competition (Beigners, Kapital, Stephani) were predicted to be contenders for the victory. And everything turned out to be that way, Vliegende Beigners (what else to expect from a club who has almost 50% of all foreign players (Amborse, Villemarie, Vega, Thi Nung, Vasquez, Ardanes, Ahsaeh...) in ChenkorFoot in it's team?) was the leader almost all the time, with Stephani as a close runner up. But in the last matchdays, Club Vubtol Libridis knocked them off the second place.
It was a pretty disappointing season for Kapital F.C.... Fifth place, it's a position some teams dream of, but for Kapital it's not good. The club hasn't missed out the UICA competitions a single time, but now it's not even qualified for the Globe Cup. Who's fault is it? Some fans blame it on the new manager from Stachland, Theodore Czacki. But an experienced manager like this, isn't the kind of manager that ruins everything for a certain club. No, probably it's just the players' fault; the chemistry was gone. Hopefully Czacki can make the UICA competitions next time, to prove hisself.

It also was a successfull season for SC Avenion. After a pretty disappointing third season (13th place, so no UICA competitions), they're back in the competition, this time hoping for a place in the group phases of the UICA Globe Cup. Which isn't unreachable anymore; every season, the Chenkoryan teams come a bit closer to the group phases, and maybe in the future, some teams can even survive the group phases. Back to SC Avenion, where the two Seunem brothers are playing. It's a club with a lot of potential, and with some good managing it will once win the competition. That's why the club is searching for a new manage to manage the club in Avenion Sports Ground, Avenion.

19th place may sound pretty bad. But no, for F.C. Weron it's not a bad result at all. Of course, the goal was 15 or something, but at least they stayed in the competition this time. That's the first time in history, did you know that? Usually Weron is like a ferry between ChenkorFoot A and ChenkorFoot B. For next time, the big goal is finishing in the top 10, but as that is almost impossible, it's going to be top 15.

Aww, poor Nechout Kings! They wanted to stay in the competition! After finishing first in the ChenkorFoot League B and fourth in their group in the SBCC, they at least expected to do the thing F.C. Weron did this season. But what a pity, they didn't. And they have such a nice name! It looks much better in the list as PUP Suvvisfen to be honest...

Natasha Klossovskaya, on the other hand... the young right back has become a terrifying force down the wing with her fiery pace and deadly crossing ability, and is sure to become the most prized possession of some Cafundelense giant in the offseason... unless FKM can retain her services.

Gypsies' Final Day Victory Over Vulkan Clinches CC Berth. Though they couldn't maintain their premiership over the Federation's top flight as they had one year ago, Gimnasia remained a strong outfit with something to prove to their better-established, burgundy-wearing neighbors. A side that hadn't even conceded a goal since their Matchday 23 draw with FKM. With a People's Club loss and a win over their local enemies Gimnasia, they would capture the title. But the Gypsies were undaunted, and tossed the Burgundy out of Gelendzhik Stadion on their asses. Šudhan Chahachim is desperately frustrated. With that said, third place is still third place. Lots of teams would kill to finish there. Plus, Leonid Shcherbina had his best season in approximately ten years. While last season, Andrea was the forward teams needed to fear, this time the diminutive Shcherbina was the business end of Vulkan's attack. The introduction of attacking midfielder Najazhghu Zeqhur allowed him to push much further up the pitch. Both Zeqhur and Shcherbina will be blue-ribbon transfer targets this offseason and will be tipped to appear for the Urchins.

Red Elephants Make History In Globe Cup Qualification. Before today, every team to have ever appeared in the UICA competitions on behalf of Kagdazka and Pazhujebu had appeared in the inaugural (5241) First Division season. Before today, no team, once a resident of the Second Division, had ever managed to make it into the international spots. Before today. Beginning their current top-flight spell in 5250, Raktaghav Hathi are headed to the Globe Cup after stealing fourth place from more critically acclaimed outfits. Benat Uranga fast became a brilliant team leader; his technical skills revolutionized the way that Hathi used their wingers and made him a terrifying specter to opposing defenses. Narazo Del Pietro was another crucial piece, mopping up problems before they began at the rear of the Red Elephants' midfield. Though his days with the Erathi national team are over, he's played well enough in his first year that there are mutterings he could be bought by one of the Southwest Three in the offseason.

Too Many Draws Means Fifth Again For Urajbina. Only outdone in their mastery of draws by their archrivals Zhevassi, the Yellow, Red, and Blue simply didn't have the stamina to march any farther up the table. But hopefully few tears are shed; given that the Southwest Three plus Raktaghav Hathi were so unbeatable this year, a Globe Cup spot is still pretty good. Team captain Aqhorassia Bhara was yet again a critical performer, and some pundits believe she is actually Kagdazka and Pazhujebu's best center back at the moment, despite her early years in the league being so rocky. Her services may be of interest to more powerful clubs in the offseason. And what about Rudinei? Finally finding his feet again after years of being desperately poor, the 35-year-old Cafundelense striker finally got his act together, and tied with FKM's Olec Dasra for the First Division's Golden Boot award.

The cities of Chadan, Murmansk, and Zanduznyy are often lumped together into one single metropolitan area, in no small part because of the towns' uniform support for the left-wing club FKM. This club believes that positive football is as much political as it is tactical; that attacking play is equivalent to the poor farmer's quest for social justice and that cynical defending is equivalent to the evil businessman's lust for money. Seem like an oversimplification to you? Yeah... those FKM fans are a bit nuts, and you can tell when you visit their round concrete stadium, a veritable industrialist workers' temple, adorned with socialist slogans, chain-link fences, hammer-and-sickle-labeled beverages, et cetera. The stadium has played host to the Champions' Cup final previously: two seasons ago when FKM won it all.

Globe Cup - Gelendzhik Stadion, Gelendzhik, Kagdazka (35,000 seats)

Gelendzhik's gray and stony architecture hides a history of class upheaval and racial strife. But from this history arises a deeply developed football culture, with a whopping four different Gelendzhik sides having appeared in the KPFA League First Division. One of those teams, based out of the eastern buroughs of the city, is the old and traditional club Gimnasia. If ever a sports team was rescued from the brink of destruction, it was when Unitopolitan newspaper tycoon bought Gimnasia and built them a desperately-needed new stadium, this one, a small but modern venue built from steel with industrialist bronze piping and teal decor all around the interior. It only seats thirty-five thousand people, but the steep tilt of the stands keeps everyone very close to the pitch.

Ultimately, Mathieu Melia was unable to save Cymrwell FC, who joined Paper Tree Town and Warton Villa on the way down to the Royal League, following an away defeat to the latter. Warton Villa had already been condemned to relegation before the match, but their 3-2 win was the final nail in the coffin for their Dynapolitan opponents. Paper Tree Town's relegation was confirmed with their failure to beat Arcaea County on matchday thirty-six, which also confirmed the survival of Orlando Florian's side. They would, however, still have a say in the destination of the title.

Heading into the final matchday, there was still a possibility that any of the top five could claim the title. Firewood City, the title holders, would face a tricky journey to Tubriss to face the often stubborn defence of a Paper Tree Town who had already bested them this season. Utica and Hastmead would face off in Tubriss also, while Burningham travelled to Ikuturso to face Turic. The potential scenarios were insane, and though it may have appeared somewhat choreographed, its hard to imagine that the OFA's fixture makers could have predicted such a close finish.
An odd side-effect of the increased competition at the top was that nobody outside the top five really had anything to play for come final day, as no other team could break the top five and claim a UICA berth.

Arguably, Firewood City owe a huge debt Dante Speranzo. While their much-vaunted forwards couldn't break through at Papyrus Stadium, the Utica hitman scored in stoppage time to tie up the game at the Ursinopolis, effectively handing the Fourgian club their nineteenth title. Had Hastmead beaten Utica -- and until the second minute of stoppage time, they lokked like they were going to -- they would have been claiming a third title in four years. Alas, it was not to be. Their miraculous recovery this season, coming so close to claiming the title after languishing well behind the rest of the pack earlier in the season, will have reminded everyone not to overlook them in coming years, however.

Elsewhere, the cup competitions didn't really serve up many major surprises... The Corradini Cup final saw Jonathan Herd's Trothwands playing at Mount Crown Stadium once again. Their route there hadn't been very challenging until their highly impressive semi-final display against Utica United.

The Grasshoppers chief had come under criticism before the season began, mostly centred on the failure of the club to bring through more youth, instead relying on experience to see them through. The boss took note, and while he didn't blood a large number of players -- a la Firewood City or Utica United, for example -- he did manage to bring through a few younger names on the way, despite his team facing much tougher opposition.

The final was set up pretty nicely, really. An up-and-coming manager with a record for winning cups (minor ones, but cups nonetheless) against a manager believed to be in decline, who also has a reputation for winning cups. Both teams in transition, with an excess of experienced players and not many established younger players. Both teams seemingly short on input to the national side, too.

In the end, Turic emerged victorious in a somewhat convincing result, but one that will no doubt have more impact outside the trophy room. Appearing in the final will have given the young players on both sides a major boost of confidence, and could see a number of them make a step up next season.

Pre-season review

For the first time in its history the Erriket national league has decided to go proffesional. There are three divisions; the top two have two teams each and the third one only has eight
teams in it. The two top teams in contention are the Magnetas and Cosmopolitans, both from Selliay and are big rivals. While the league is small at the minute it has already expanded by

With a major shakeup in the landscape of Eastfield Lodge, politically, socially and economically, the ELFA decided to hold one last season before everything imploded upon itself, with dozens of teams filing for bankruptcy, and others leaving the frame altogether.

With B teams banned for this season, the two normal reality colonies each sent a team along to the bottom of the league structure, but they ended up failing miserably.

V-League: 27th Season Summary
(Note: The 27th Season took place between World Cup 57 Finals and World Cup 58 Qualifying. The 36th UICA Championships, Aeropag Invitational and Trofeo de Principe took place prior to the start of V-League 27. V-League 27 will determine the qualifiers for the 36th UICA Championships and the AOCL V.

Colonial Sile, who made the second-best Vilitan Cup run by a non-league team in the history of the competition, losing out 2-3 in an aggregate Semi-Final against Arcticala Inlet, were unsurprisingly invited back into the league for Season 27, return to the declasse for the first time since their expulsion after Season 21. The inagural Declasse champions were joined by Lonngeylin Coast, a club that has never had much success despite being founding members of the Declasse. Lonngeylin Coast were invited back to the league for the 4th time in club history, but the first time since Season 8. Coast were relegated immediately in all 3 of their previous seasons in the league, having never finished outside the relegation zone in any season. Coast were invited to replace Lonngeylin City in the Declasse, after City too has gone 3 consecutive League invitations without avoiding relegation, the Vilitan League organizers, desperate to find another club in Lonngeylin to capitalize on the large fan base that surrounds Jungle Strike FC, and perhaps spread some of the talent around. Coast will get their chance after Lonngeylin City failed miserably to fill that role in Season 26.

Tropical Trophy

The first real test of the Tropical Trophy, pitting 6 time trophy winners Arcticala Inlet against defending Stellar Division champions Cednia Beach AFC, who had never won the Tropical Trophy. Arcticala made clear their intentions of returning to glory by splashing the cash for Turoki United's Turorian starlet Vrotaoa Lorasoiba, who practically single handedly won the Declasse Championship for Turoki the season before. Lorasoiba was one of the big transfer targets and Turoki United lost the battle to hold on to the player once Arcticala Inlet came calling. The Turorian would go straight into the squad for the Trophy which also pitted two of Vilita's youngest goalkeepers against each other, Aranora Jaded for Arcticala Inlet and Jaqe Planst for Cednia Beach. Planst was making his first Tropical Trophy appearance for Cednia Beach, one season after Arcticala sold the player in order to put their faith in Jaded as their #1 keeper. Inlet had the first chance of the match, though the shot did not trouble Planst, it did nick the topside of the bar before going out for a goal kick. Cednia beach responded a few minutes later with a chance of their own in a tight match. Jaded made the first big save of the match 25 minutes in while Planst responded with a crucial save of his own on 33 minutes. Arcticala had bad news at half time as hot new signing Vrotaoa Larasoiba was unable to return for the second half, having picked up some sort of injury. Lorasoiba had been one of the top players on the pitch so the injury was certain to affect their chances to win the game. Planst had to make a big save on the hour to keep the scores level as Arcticala had sent a man clear through on goal. Both sides were playing timidly after this let down, neither having a player interested in costing his team the game. Erathorean forward Anthony Rojas had a late chance on the Freekick which was blocked by the wall, but Rasaie Kentiak followed through with a shot that was saved well by Planst. The teams fought a great battle, but perhaps not an exciting one, and extra time was on the cards after 90 minutes of scoreless play. If there was a team that looked slightly stronger in the 90 minutes, it would have been Cednia Beach, but the score still level, only the extra period mattered. Both sides continued timid play through the extra period, with the goalkeepers asked only to intercept crosses in the box or gather up long balls hit too far. That is, until just after the restart, when Arcticala spurned a golden opportunity to slot home, and Kentiak's rebound opportunity was mis kicked directly into the arms of the thankful Planst. Arcticala began to apply the pressure and Planst had to deal with a long range effort from Rikko Rawaii 5 minutes from time. Continuing the build up, Arcticala hit woodwork for the second time in the match and once again, the ball bounced away with no further danger for Cednia Beach. It would be the last chance of the match, which would incredibly end goalles and require a penalty shootout to determine a champion, an absolute exquisite performance by the two young rival Goalkeepers, eying not only domestic success against their rival clubs, but, also a place on the Vilita National Team depth charts for the World Cup 58 qualifiers.

Ball and net finally met as the penalty shootout began, with Erathorean forward Rojas on target to start the nerve-racking session for Arcticala Inlet. Cednia's Wilfy Likal leveled the score at 1-1 as the goalkeepers could do little to prevent their perfect performances being upset by the skilled set piece takers. Arcticala took a 2-1 lead through Kristopher Lopinka and Vilita National Team defender Eda Shindhi blazed over the net for Cednia Beach, giving the advantage to Inlet after two rounds. Arcticala would go up 3-1 with the next kicker, but Cednia would also make no mistake to stay in the match at 3-2. When Inlet made it 4-2, it became a must-score situation for Cednia Beach and Arcticala Goalkeeper Anarora Jaded looked determined to prevent that from happening. As the ball met the glove, the Vilitan crowd at the Tivali Ring Stadium erupted, Jaded proving his teams faith in him was justified, and delivering silverware back to Arcticala, who won their 7th Tropical Trophy (2nd Consecutive) and moved 1 title behind Strike (8) in the all time winners list. It was also the first ever Tropical Trophy to end goalless after 120 minutes, and the 4th time the Trophy was decided on penalty kicks. For Cednia, they remained winless in the Tropical Trophy, their only previous attempt also ending in a penalty defeat during season 18 against the Yeaddin Owls. Arcticala Inlet p0-0 Cednia Beach

The Stellar Division season would start out with a fairly bland schedule, no real rivalry matches or clashes between expected title contenders. The featured match would be the defending Champions Cednia Beach squaring off against Eastal Lunar, while the nostalgic would have their eyes on the classic battle between Strike and Turoki Isle. Strike would win that matchup easily through goals from Retiso Buran and Yves Gadois giving hope to their supporters that they would be more efficient at getting 3 points in matches where they have outplayed their opponents. Cednia Beach were also victorious with a 1-0 victory over Eastal Lunar. Foreign players returned to the V-League after a hiatus in Season 26 where teams could only register players with Vilitan or Turorian citizenship. JD Fuller was largely ineffective in his Makosile debut as they dropped a dissapointing result to 10 man newcomers Morata Valley while Camthalio Ringeril's goal for Arcticala Inlet was not enough as they also fell to a newly promoted team, 2-1 against Turoki United. Turorian defender Yoains Konoaafeo, the Stellar Divisions top player for Season 26, was named Player of the Week.

Week 5 saw a clash of two teams with a perfect record. Jungle Strike FC, the perennial favorites to win the Stellar Division, and Morata Valley, the newly promoted side who never finished higher than dead last in the Stellar Division in team history. The two teams squared off in a top of the table clash in week 5, and it was Strike who left as the only perfect team in the Stellar Division, a 57th minute Jian Lejsrma goal the difference between the sides in front of a record-capacity crowd at Valley Park. It also took 5 matchdays for the Yeaddin Owls to get their first victory, climbing off the foot of the table with a 1-0 victory over Kionao Locals. Strike would suffer their first blemish after failing to score against Turoki United in Week 6 in a goalless draw, allowing Cednia Beach to close the gap to just one point atop the table Arcticala Inlet were being kept in contention by the play of Camthalio Ringeril who had a pair of game winning goals for the Electricians already.

One third of the way through the season, Strike was still on a tear looking very much like they were a team getting ready to start another run of 5-straight championships as they had done from Seasons 20-24. Defending Champions Cednia Beach were keeping pace, 3 points off the top, but the Favorites and the Champions were in a class of their own, with 3rd place Arcticala Inlet already 8 points behind with a definate buffer building between the sides. Camthalio Ringeril continued to keep pace in the goalscoring race, trailing Strike's Retiso Buran and Yves Gadois.

Week 9 would see the last unbeaten team go down as Strike fell to a disspointing 1-0 defeat away at lowly Lopinka. Cednia Beach's 4-0 drubbing of bottom of the table Kionao Locals catapulted them atop the table on goal difference while a resurgent Kiiarana City defeated Arcticala Inlet 2-1 to move into 3rd place, 6 points behind the leaders. Kiiarana, the club made famous by Starblaydian uber-hero Simeone Di Bradini, were looking like serious challengers for the first time since finishing 3rd in the table during Season 21.

At the halfway point in the season, Strike seemed unaffected by their surprise defeat at Lopinka, rebounding confidently to score a combined 7 goals and conceding just 1 in victories over contending teams Kiiarana, Arcticala Inlet and Yeaddin Owls. Coupled with Cednia's defeats to Arcticala Inlet and Makosile, Jungle Strike sat 6 points clear of the defending champs atop the table and still mathematically within reach of the Yeaddin Owls record for total points in a league season, something that few teams have been able to claim at the mid-way point in the season. Strike were a full 10 points clear of Kiiarana, who remained in a strong third place, one point ahead of Arcticala Inlet. The 5th through 10th places were separated by just a single point with Turoki Isle and Yeaddin Owls struggling in 11th and 12th, the Owls only avoiding the relegation zone by goal difference over Lopinka. However, it looked done and dusted for the Kionao Locals. The UICA Globe Cup participants had just 1 win in the first 13 matches and their leaky defense had conceded more goals than any other team in the entire league system. Retiso Buran was pulling away in the goalscoring race with his 9 goals, though Strike forward Yves Gadois was regarded as the player making the biggest impact, and receiving the most attention from the media likely increasing his chances of being invited to the Vilitan National Team camp for World Cup 58 Qualifiers. Arcticala Inlet's Camthalio Ringeril was the only foreign player to find the back of the net during the first half othe season, with 4 goals, 3 of which came on penalty kicks while both Makosile midfielder JD Fuller (Mangolana) led the league in Yellow cards with 4 in 13 games..

The Yeaddin Owls, struggling to keep pace in the Stellar Division, decided to make a change in the goalkeeping department, signing former Yeaddin Academy trainee Hooizo Nuakoi from Turoki Isle to replace Atacir Tivalan, who returned to former club Makosile after a disspointing season for both teams since Tivalan's first transfer. Meanwhile, long time Sirkii Moliaudo attacking partner Xcnaio Bansoa joined Arcticala Inlet, abandoing his partner in the Declasse to seek greener pastures in a Stellar Division push.

As the league resumed Strike got off to a slow start with a draw against Turoki Isle followed by defeat at the hands of Jlinal Cove, just the second of the season for Strike, completely eliminating the lead they had built over Cednia Beach who clawed within 1 point of the leaders. However, the week 16 matchup between Kiiarana and Cednia Beach would re-open the gap for Jungle Strike, Kiiarana upsetting the defending champs to move 1 point out of second and prove that they were going to have to be reckoned with for the title down the stretch. Kiiarana held a 7 point gap to Arcticala Inlet and Jlinal Cove who were level 4th. Kionao Locals remained 9 points adrift at the bottom of the table with 12 defeats in 16 games while Lopinka rovers looked just as unlikely to mount any challenge on the top 12, as the two teams combined had scored no more goals than any other one team in the table.

Matchday 17 was crucial to the title chase as Strike would travel to Turorian to square off with Cednia Beach. Separated by 4 points going into the match, the Vilitan side could stretch it to 7 points with a victory, or, see the gap close to just 1 point with a defeat. From the first kick, however, it was clear that Strike were the better side, and the Capacity Crowd at the Cednia Beach Center had to feel as if their time as 'reigning champions' of the Stellar Division was soon coming to an end. Strike walked away 2-0 winners and inched closer to realizing their potential after a throughouly dissapointing performance during Season 26. Another Turorian team with dissapointed fans was the Kionao Locals. After a strong cup run in Season 26 where they reached the Semi-Finals and finished a safe 9th in the Stellar Division, the Locals string of defeats kept getting longer and more embarassing, a 0-4 defeat to the Turoki Tide and a comprehensive 0-3 drubbing at the hands of the Yeaddin Owls, the two teams that Kionao would have been chasing to avoid relegation, would have dashed any fleeting hopes from the fans of a run for safety.

Just as quickly as it looked like the Stellar Division was all wrapped up, Cednia Beach was right back in the picture by Matchday 20. A pair of draws followed by a home defeat to Makosile saw Strike gain just 2 points from 9, allowing Cednia Beach to close back to within 3 points. Kiiarana was losing touch, 9 points behind Strike and just 1 point ahead of Arcticala Inlet, who, at 10 points behind the leaders, maintained slim hopes of challenging for another Stellar Division Title.

A 4-1 defeat to Arcticala Inlet on Matchday 21 confirmed relegation for the Kionao Locals. Anthony Rojas' third goal in as many games for the Electricians was the nail in the Locals fate, although they did get a goal back in stoppage time to the appreciation of a few of the remaining fans who began preparing for life in the Declasse.

Cednia Beach had a free 3 points against Kionao Locals on Matchday 22 allowing them to close back to within 4 points of Strike atop the table. The real story, however, was hard charging Arcticala Inlet and the performance of Erathorean Anthony Rojas who netted again to propel Arcticala Inlet over Kiiarana who were eliminated from title contention, and close the gap to just 8 points with 12 to play for. Quietly putting in a strong season, Jlinal Cove were still mathematically alive, 10 points back in 3rd, while newly promoted Turoki United and rivals Turoki Tide sat 5th and 6th, also barely hanging on to within 12 points of the leaders. The Electricians travelled to Turori on Matchday 23 to square off with Cednia Beach AFC. Support was split as while Arcticala needed a victory to keep their own title chances alive, an Arcticala Victory would mean that it would take a miracle for either the Electricians or the defending champs to Challenge Strike over the final three matches. Arcticala did come out victorious pulling to within 1 point of Cednia Beach for 2nd place in the table, and staying within 8 points of Strike with 3 games to play.

The only hope for the Electricians at this stage was for them to win and Strike to lose. The only way to guarantee that would be for them to play each other, as they did on Matchday 24 at the Inlet Stadium. Rojas had an early opportunity that Kater couldn't handle, but the Strike defense was there to clear the danger. Strike were dealt a blow in the 23rd minute as Vilita National Team captain Ritopa Simafela went off injured, and the Electricians quickly capitalized on the confusion that Simafela's absense brought on. Former Marine Coast striker Xcnaio Bansoa was out to prove he didn't need Sirkii Moliaudo as a partner to be an effective player and gave the Electricians a 1-0 lead going into the half. Bansoa had to be careful though, after receiving a yellow card for play-acting trying to get a penalty call to double his sides lead. Both teams had their chances in the second half and the excitement was building as Strike earned a freekick on the edge of the box in stoppage time. Gadois' freekick was pushed aside by Jaded for a corner, but the leaders were unable to convert and the referee blew the full time whistle as the ball was cleared, moving the Electricians to within 5 points with 2 matches to play, while Cednia Beach, with thier victory over Morata Valley, had moved to within 4 points. At the other end of the table, the Yeaddin Owls put on a clinic against Lopinka Rovers, recording a 5-0 victory that confirms Lopinka in the relegation zone to the Declasse for Season 28.

Heading into the penultimate matchday, Strike knew a victory at home to Turoki Tide to ensure the title would be coming to Lonngeylin, while Arcticala Inlet and Cednia Beach knew they both needed victories to stay in contention. Cednia Beach was the only team to have a goal at the half but they were down to 10 men so were in for a challenge in the second half. Still being held 0-0, Strike's appeals for a penalty 5 minutes from time were turned down much to the dismay of the fans who feared seeing a near-flawless season potentially slipping away from their grasp. The scores around the league were flashing at the ground and Arcticala Inlet's 82nd minute goal sent gasps around Lonngeylin, as if Strike could not score, there would be 2 teams going into the final matchday with a chance to catch them. The final whistle came, and Strike could not close the deal. It would all come down to the final matchday, Strike 2 points clear of Cednia Beach and 3 clear of Arcticala Inlet who would need to make up +6 goals differential to catch the leaders.

Strike would travel to the Lirai Asku Castle, one of the most menacing arenas in all of Vilita. While the Owls had not been consistent, they had been strong as their 5-0 drubbing of Lopinka just weeks before proved. While a draw may have been enough for the Jungle Strike to claim the title on goal differential, Yves Gadois did not have any intentions of holding his breath, putting Strike ahead in the 10th minute. Gadois doubled the Jungle Strike lead just before the half on a penalty kick and the travelling support was starting to believe - believe that they hadn't screwed everything up after all. With Arcticala Inlet already losing 2-0, the visiting supporters started getting boisterous as they saw Erocka Lorei's 73rd minute goal flash on the board that put Makosile 1-0 up over Cednia Beach. As the final whistle blew, Strike were confirmed as Champions for the 8th time in club history, beating out the previous two seasons' champions to do it. Kionao Locals relegation was exclamated by Eastal Lunar who put another 4 goals past the wayward Turorian Club and pushing defender Uajiala Pulkki to the top of the average rating table over Yves Gadois and Yoains Konoaafeo.

Retiso Buran's 9 goals were enough to lead the league while Camthalio Ringeril and Anthony Rojas tied at 4 goals, the best of the foreign competitors. Ringeril also added 6 assists on the season, although Yeaddin Owls' Kristofer Kilpter's 8 led the league. Mangolana's JD Fuller ended the season with 6 yellow cards, leading the league over Kiiarana's Tiika Diirotora who had 5.

The Declasse division started with a clear favorite, Marine Coast United, 10 times a top-3 finished in the Stellar Division returned for a second time to the Declasse, which they won handily in their last attempt in Season 24. Much to the dismay of the supporters of the heavily armed Marine Coast squad, Nusira Lionta, sporting a squad of virtual unknowns and no national prospects, recorded a 2-0 victory that sent Marine Coast straight to the bottom of the table after the first matchday. Declasse newcomers Colonial Sile's 1-0 victory over Inland Peaks ensured that both Stellar Division relegatees from Season 26 would have a harsh welcome to the Declasse division.

After 8 games Marine Coast had finally found a bit of form, leading the league in goals scored although their slow start kept them 4 points off the top of the table where Tivali City and Colonial Sile looked to show their desire to return to earlier days of Stellar Division glory was greater than that of Marine Coast. Still perhaps distracted by building up a new community from the ground up, Irottea FC continued their struggles with 7 defeats in the first 8 matches, 5 points adrift from safety.

After 16 games, Marine Coast's form had turned into Marine Coast's domination as the storied club stormed to the top of the table overtaking Colonial Sile. Coast were setting the pace in the goalscoring department much as they had during Season 24, their only previous in the Declasse, when they set all time records for Goals Scored and Points in the Declasse. It was no two-horse fight however, Mavaloiao sat just 2 points back in 3rd while Turorian side Mliona-Lpaka were looking to return to the Stellar Division as well, after missing out on goal differential in Season 26. At the bottom of the table, Irottea finally recorded a second victory, but remained 8 points adrift of safety and it looked more and more likely that they would be relegated from the League system for the first time in club history. Even Lonngeylin Coast had fallen off the pace, hoping to avoid being the second consecutive Lonngeylin team to be relegated at the first attempt while Lonngeylin Rivals Jungle Strike continue dominating the Lonngeylin sports market. Vilita National Team goalkeeper Jungrii Canopii was doing his part for Inland Peaks who had conceded a league-best 7 goals. However, they were surpassed only by Irottea in their futility, having only scored 6 goals leaving them languishing in obscurity in 9th place in the table.

Marine Coast's big run came to a screeching halt in Week 18 as they fell 1-0 to Mliona-Lpaka who leapfrogged both Marine and Colonial to take the top spot in the Declasse.

It was all crashing down for Colonial Sile, who had looked like earning promotion at the first attempt, but defeats to Lonngeylin Coast and Marine Coast slipped the early leaders down to 4th, four points behind join leaders Mliona-Lpaka and Marine Coast, with Mavaloiao maintaining their title chances in 3rd. Irottea were managing to avoid mathematical elimination with a series of draws, but remained 9 points adrift with only 18 to play for. Lonngeylin Coast, however, with their victory over Colonial Sile, moved to within 3 points of 12th placed Inland Rovers, with a glimmer of hope to avoid the drop.

With 3 matches to play it effectively became a 3-team battle for the two promotion places as Colonial dropped another result, falling to 8 points behind the top 2 though Marine Coast and Mavaloiao still had to play each other limiting the points Colonial could make up on them. The bottom sides were making a late push though, fighting for survival as Irottea picked up their third win of the season while Lonngeylin Coast put a pair of victories against fellow strugglers together to not only leapfrog out of the relegation zone, but build up a 3 point cushion with 3 games to play.

On Matchday 23, Marine Coast were held 0-0 by Rammsissil allowing Mavaloiao to leap frog them into second place on a single goals differential, the two sides continuing to chase Mliona-Lpaka Turori who were two points clear, while all other teams had already been mathematically eliminated from contention. While Irottea finally confirmed their relegation after an abysmal season, Lonngeylin Coast amazingly continued their winning streak in a tit-for-tat 4-3 thriller at the National View Stadium against Inland Peaks. After spending much of the season in the relegation zone, coast were now threatining for a finishing position in the top half of the table, leaving Inland Rovers and Liguon Valley to fight for the final league spot for Season 28.

Lonngeylin Coasts' strong performances continued on Matchday 25 with a 0-0 draw against promotion-chasing Mavaloiao. The crucial result allowed Marine Coast to move two points clear of Mavaloiao in the promotion battle heading into the final matchday, and confirmed Mliona-Lpaka would be promoted as they were 4 points clear going into the final game. Inland Rovers and Liguon Valley were separated by 3 points going into the final day with both teams looking to avoid being relegated.

It all came down to the final matchday, and as if the schedulers knew it would come down to them, Marine Coast United traveled to Bear Claw Stadium in a very simple match: Winner gets promoted. A draw would be enough for Marine Coast, while a victory would See them promoted and give them an outside chance at the title, Mavaloiao could accept nothing less than victory. Moliaudo went close first striking the upright with his early effort, although both teams showed good attacking motivation in the first twenty minutes. Jomur Hulyer presented many chances for Coast in the opening moments, but when the scoring opened in the 24th minute it was Mavaloiao getting on the board. The fans were still in the middle of their goal chant when Marine Coast responded, a training ground maneuver from the kickoff set them clear and just as quickly the scores were level again. The Mavaloiao goalkeeper was not showing sure hands, parrying instead of catching and conceding a few too many corners for the comfort of the supporters at the Bear Claw. Marine Coast had the better of the chances in the first half, but Mavaloiao would come out firing and quickly find space only to find the crossbar twice in the first ten minutes of the half. Finally, in the 56th minute Mavaloiao got a second goal to take the 2-1 lead. Hulyers stunning runs were proving too much for Mavaloiao and were sure to get them in trouble as they did in the 64th minute, as Moliaudo connected to once again level the scores and give Marine Coast the promotion advantage at 2-2. 15 minutes from time, it was once again the Hulyer cross and the Moliaudo finish, the two perhaps showing a preview of what they intend to do in the World Cup qualifiers for the Vilitan National Team. Marine Coast had taken the 3-2 lead and with stoppage time approaching, were almost certain to return to the Stellar Division at the first time of asking. The final whistle would blow Marine Coast were promoted, although their shaky defense had cost them the title, losing out on goal difference to Mliona-Lpaka Turori who were crowned Declasse champions for the second time in club history. Inland Peaks joined Irottea in confirming expulsion from the League by finishing in the bottom two.

Inland Peaks FC's Riksa Valjariia was named the top player in the division while Mavaloiao's Rutaj Ranaso was able to edge out Sirkii Moliaudo for the top goalscorer award.

Vilitan Cup Group Stage:
After leading the group after 2 matches, Jaguar Moreda, home of Vilitan prospect Ukalai Saluria and one of the most popular Vilitan clubs to have never been invited to the League structure suffered a 0-1 defeat to Turoki Isle, seeing them slip to 3rd in the group behind the Islanders and Declasse side Mavaloiao, and likely seeing their hopes and a League invitation for V-League 28 slip away as well. Just as Group 1 saw a Turoki and a Mavaloiao advance, so did Group 2 with Turoki United (Stellar Division) and Mavaloiao City (Non-League) advancing, with a very rare rule having to be used to determine that Marine Coast United would not be advancing, despite having the same record (and results) as Mavaloiao City. In Group 3, Jungle Strike FC looked in fine form and perhaps took a step towards actually making good on the almost traditional expectation that they are the best team on paper in Vilita. Strike won all their matches 2-0 while Declasse side Nusira Lionta advanced over Akisa Surta and Crosaibi Locals. Group 4 saw the tables turned upside down and the Riailia Cliff stadium was absolutely rocking as Non-League side Riailia Villiage, the only club representing the whole of North Western Turoki Island, ran the table over an arguably weak group that included Stellar Division side Kionao Locals, one of the closest Geographical clubs to Riailia, and Declasse side Lonngeylin Coast. Riailia, a club that did not even exist when the Stellar Division was formed, made a Quarter Final appearance in the cup during Season 25 just before the gap, and may be able to make a case for League inclusion in Season 28 with a good run in the Cup, especially due to the unique Geographic presence they would provide. Fellow non-league side Lopinka Locals, Season 4 Semi-Finalists, also advanced knocking both League clubs in the group out of the competition. Group 5 fell to plan with Declasse side Kiiara-Torra edging out Eastal Lunar for the top spot in the group.

Group 6 was the first group containing 3 League sides instead of 2, and defending Stellar Division champions Cednia Beach would be the one to suffer finishing bottom of the table with 1 win in three games, being pipped by declasse sides Liguon Valley and Irottea. Group 7 was a fine draw with the two League clubs from Sile meeting once again. After Colonial Sile's upset of then-Stellar Division leading Makosile in Season 26 all but assured their re-invitation to the league for this season, the two sides would meet again, now both being members of the league and favored to advance. Once again, despite being at a lower level than their Stellar Division rivals, Colonial ran out 1-0 winners and continued to claim the 'Best team in Sile' monicker, perhaps for another season. Both clubs would advance, receiving little challenge from Non-League Marta Seraai and Declasse side Tivali United. Group 8 saw yet another huge upset, and also a big rivalry. This rivalry would not be settled, as Inland Peaks and Inland Rovers would play to a 1-1 draw. However, despite beating non-league side Lonngeylin City 2-0 through goals from their captain, and from Erathorean attacking midfielder Rojas, defending Cup Champions Arcticala Inlet were dumped out after a pair of 0-1 defeats at the hands of the Inland rivals. Lonngeylin City would also advance after defeating Inland Peaks at Lonngeylin Park. In Group 9, newly promoted Stellar Division side Morata Valley led the group and advanced along with Rammsissil, despite Morata Valley's 4-0 drubbing of Rammsissil on the final matchday. Kiiarana City and Mliona-Lpaka would play one of the more exciting games of the group stage in Group 10. Mliona-Lpaka would end up winning the match 3-2 after both teams netted in the final minutes, though Kiiarana would end up winning the group over Mliona-Lpaka with victories over Turoki Tide and Spear Cape. In Group 11, the Yeaddin Owls topped the group and were joined by Crosaibi Rovers who advanced thanks to a 1-0 upset of Stellar Division side Jlinal Cove on the final matchday.

Vilitan Cup Round 2:
In the second round, Mliona-Lpaka ran away 3-0 winners against non-league Crosaibi Rovers in the highest scoring match. 3 games went to penalties with Eastal Lunnar (Stellar) defeating Mavaloiao City (Non-League); Lonngeylin City (Non-League) defeating Irottea (Declasse) and Makosile (Stellar) defeating Mavaloiao (Declasse). Stellar Division side Kiiarana defeated Declasse side Nusira Lionta 2-0. The only true upset of the round came at the Sissil Bank Stadium Declasse side and UICA 'B' Champions Cup 33 Competitors Rammsissil were dumped out at home by a Lopinka Locals side looking to re-ignite some of the magic from their Season 4 Cup Run by advancing to round three for the first time since that incredible Semi-Final appearance. Already confirmed as the highest finishing team from Lopinka in the competition, the amateur side would look to claim a Stellar Division scalp in their third round matchup.

Vilitan Cup Round of 16:
Stellar Division leaders Jungle Strike FC would clash with high flying Declasse leaders Colonial Sile in a highly-billed third round matchup at Colonial Field in Sile. Colonial scored first to the delight of the home fans, but in the end the Stellar Division side was just too strong, with starlet Yves Gadois netting a hattrick in the 3-1 victory for the away side. Makosile United, who had lost to Colonial in the group stage, would have the last laugh advancing to the Quarter Finals with their 1-0 victory over Inland Rovers. 3 Non-League sides qualified for the Third round, but there would be no cinderella in Season 27 as Riailia Village (0-2 v. Turoki Isle), Lopinka Locals (0-1 v. Morata Valley) and Lonngeylin City (0-3 v. Kiiarana) all crashed out of the competition leaving doubt as to who might be favored for an invitation to the Declasse for Season 28. The Yeaddin Owls needed extra time to dispose of Liguon Valley while Eastal Lunar defeated Kiiara-Torra on Peanlties, and Mliona-Lpaka confirmed themslves as the highest finishing team from Turorian in the competition, being the only Turorian side to advance to the Quarter Finals with their victory over Turoki United.

Vilitan Cup Quarter-Finals: (Two Legs)
A Classic matchup in the Vilitan Cup Quarter Final between the Yeaddin Owls and Jungle Strike was without question the talk of the Island with Strike sitting well clear of the opposition atop the Stellar Division. The Owls were victorious in the first leg, 2-1 winners after converting on a pair of penalty kicks at the Lirai Asku Castle. In the return match, Strike quickly leveled the score, and by the half-hour mark had taken then lead in the fixture 3-2 on aggregate. a third goal in the match just before the half gave Strike a 4-2 aggregate lead heading into the final 45 minutes. Yeaddin started strongly in the second half, but were unable to get anything past Nycflala Kater. Strike added a 4th goal on the day to convincingly knock their old rivals out of the competition 5-2 on aggregate. In the other matches Kiiarana ran out 2-0 winners in Sile to eliminate Makosile 2-1 on aggregate while impressive Morata Valley eliminated the final Turorian Side, and the final Declasse side, Mliona-Lpaka from the competition. Turoki Isle and Eastal Lunar were all square at 1 goal a piece but Turoki Isle advanced on the away goals rule.

Vilitan Cup Semi-Finals: (Two Legs)
The Semi-Final draw ensured that there would be at least one first-time final participant as Kiiarana City and Morata Valley would square off for the right to play the winner of Turoki Isle and Strike. After Morata Valley won the first leg 2-1, Kiiarana responded at home to level the score and advance to their first ever Vilitan Cup final. In the other semi final, Strike won an exciting 3-2 encounter in the first leg, and solidified their place in the final with a 1-0 win in the second leg.

Vilitan Cup Final:
A full house at the Tivali Ring Stadium came to see Kiiarana City in their first major competition final, taking on newly crowned Stellar Division champions Strike FC. As the teams came out from the change rooms, the difference in the sides was evident. On the Kiiarana side, the only recognizable player was uncapped Turorian Tiika Diirotora, while expected to be a regular player in the Turorian World Cup 58 campaign, seemed a bit out of place next to the plethora of home-grown international talent that the Venom had put together. Vilitan National Team goalkeeper Nycflala Kater, star of the Jungle Cats incredible World Cup 57 campaign, led his team out of the tunnel. Following Kater out of the tunnel was Vilitan captain Ritopa Simafela. The line of talent did not stop there with 8 capped Vilitan internationals stepping on the pitch to take on an underdog Kiiarana side.

Despite all the odds being against them, Kiiarana started brightly and opened the scoring 8 minutes into the match. It was the unassuming Turorian Diirotora who climbed high above the Vilitan National defensive line to head home and shock the Tivali Ring stadium by giving Kiiarana the lead. It was 20 minutes of pandamonium following in the Kiiarana half of the stands, a party like atmosphere that continued until Strike equalized just before the half hour. Strike continued pressing from that point but were unable to break the deadlock before the half.

In the second half, Kiiarana looked over powered and Strike were pressing consistently. A series of fine passes 20 minutes from time finally saw Strike take a deserved lead. Aniara Jiurjai, who joined at the start of the season from the Turoki Tide, was set into space by a headed flick from Gadois. Jiurjai made no mistake, curling the ball into the corner of the goal to score his first goal of the season, and first at the club, giving Strike the 2-1 lead. Kiiarana had to press for an equalizer, but they seemed exhausted and unable to deal with the quality of Strike. Diirotora went into the referees book in the 83rd minute after trying to recover from losing the ball in his own half. Viji-mara Lawaai sent the free kick expertly into the area where it met the head of Gadois, then found the back of the net. The final goal was the obvious back breaker for Kiiarana, who were unable to put together another attacking effort, and Strike easily ran out as Vilitan Cup champions despite the quick start from their opponents. Strike completed the double for the 3rd time in club history.

Given Bradley Hornets' rise to (almost) the pinnacle of global football with their Globe Cup win, it remains to be seen whether that dominance can be reflected in the domestic league.

To start with, they survived the first twelve matches without defeat, the thirteenth proving unlucky for them in a 4-1 loss at surprise packages Crompton. Pity New Toronto, who took the same number of matches to register a win, 2-1 against fellow-strugglers Flockton Flavell. By half-way, the usual five were in the top five places, separated by nine points, with Stanley United in pole position. The two aforementioned strugglers were, along with Etruria, beginning to drift away from the others.

By the final matchday, there were only two competitors - Bradley Hornets (who else?) and Stanley United. The Hornets were away at Civil Service, while the Vikings were at home to Markham. Neither opponent had much to play for, global qualification having been settled - one way or the other. Bradley Hornets were two points ahead, but with far inferior goal difference, so they needed to equal or better Stanley United's performance.

giving the title to Bradley Hornets. Meanwhile, Etruria escaped; the other two didn't.

Division Two threatened to provide a shock as newly-promoted Longshaw Town topped the table for large periods. The usual suspects - Redwood, Hyland and St. Andrew's - were in hot pursuit. The surprise, however, was Currie, whose amazing run towards the end propelled them to an unassailable lead at the top of the table - and with it, an immediate return to Division One. Four others were left fighting for the other promotion place.

Vilitan Stadium Bids for the UICA Championships

Champions Cup - Lonngeylin Coliseum - Lonngeylin, Vilita (115,500 Seated)

The Coliseum is one of the oldest, but most expansive stadiums in Vilita. The Home of Vilitan club Strike FC, the stadium has undergone several renovations, name changes and expansions in its long history, which includes being a knockout venue for the World Cup 17 and 31 finals. The Coliseum is known for its unique hillside accommodation, boasts one of the most impressive match atmospheres in the region. Typically, only the home fans are allowed in the south and east areas, which include both hillside seating and open hillside that can accommodate an approximately 30,000 additional fans beyond the seated capacity - depending on how far away from the stadium they wish to prop themselves. Away fans are always seated in the west grandstand.

B Champions Cup - Marine World Park - Crosaibi, Vilita (57,500 Capacity)

Marine World Park is the oldest stadium in Vilita, home of the historic club Marine Coast United. The stadium was at one time the largest stadium in Vilita by seating capacity before the construction of the Tivali Ring Stadium in Alikki-Corra prior to World Cup 13. Marine World Park is one of the few stadiums of the Vilitan league that was never hit by the expansion bug in the golden era of the Vilitan League. While many stadiums expanded to over 100,000 capacity, Marine World Park's coastal location made any expansion plans tricky, and some have blamed the lack of expansion for some of the troubles of Marine Coast United in attracting the talent they need to keep up with any of the Stellar Division teams. Marine World Park also hosted parts of the World Cup 17 Finals

Turorian Stadium Bids for the UICA Championships

Champions Cup - Cednia Beach Center - Cednia, Turori (103,000 Seated)

The Cednia Beach Center is one of the purest examples of capitalism and expansion in the Vilitan Leagues. Originally a modest plot for a modest team, the stadium has risen along with the rise of the club. Now, a world class stadium capacity wise, there are concessions that were made. The training grounds outside the center are second rate, and parking is virtually non-existent at the complex. Public transportation - including your own two feet, would be required for fans to access the stadium. Thats alright though, plenty of lodging surrounds the local area within walking distance.

Globe Cup - Coliseum of the Inurahtii - Inura Forest, Turori (88,000 Capacity)

Located in the deep forest of Turori away from the population centers, the Coliseum of the Inurahtii began construction around World Cup 31, but construction was off and on until a purpose could be found. The grand vision was to have a stadium facing the beautiful forest with the sea off in the distance, visible to those in the large eastern grandstand that towered above the canopy in the original plans. Finally, the Football Association of Turori agreed that if the stadium was completed, they would host some national team matches there. Additionally, the Vilitan League allowed Turorian Expansion team "Inura Forests FC" to be join the non-league ranks as an official member, playing based at the Coliseum during Season 27.

THE JOWENGUARD CROWN
Pre-Season competition to decide teams for International Competitions

After seasons choosing the teams to be directed to the TQCC, Globe Cup and SBCC through mysterious ways (although most followed a criteria, which changed once or twice), the CCFM finally decided to create a new competition in order to choose the teams to go to the international competitions to be played before the end of the Cafundelense season. In homage to the former president of the CCFM, Erasmo Carlos Jowenguard, the new competition was named the Jowenguard Crown. Played before the official beginning of the new season, is composed by some knockout rounds, involving teams which had good performances in the previous season: be those in the league or in the cup. The competition is divided in two "areas": the TQCC/GC and the SBCC, the winners of each one meeting in the final game to decide the Crown.

The first edition showed that the competition is a pure mess when deciding which teams would participate and which would be its format, and the CCFM directors proved that they are completely useless by repeating the same format and continuing with the mess involving this competition... the same lazyness that makes the people writing this to not update the introduction that has been always the same. For the TQCC/GC area, the 12 best teams of the league were qualified (11, as the champion is already in the TQCC), a small change from previous editions in which the 7 best were called, together with the semifinalists of the last Empress Cup, and the last champion of the Second Division. Current First Division league champions (Cafundó do Juta in this case) wouldn't participate in the Jowenguard Crown and would receive an automatic TQCC spot. Of course, there were cases of a team qualifying in both league and cup criteria. But, in these cases, no substitute would be called.

Seeds for the TQCC/GC area are the following: League 2nd (1st), Cup Winners (2nd), then the qualified through the league (3rd - 11th), those qualified through the cup (no others) and last the current Second Division champion (12th). Top ranked teams receive byes whenever necessary for the numbers.

For the SBCC area, there is more organization, and it is easier to get which teams were qualified to play the competition and its format. There were no automatic SBCC spots, and fourteen teams were called, among relegated teams from the First Division in the last season, teams from the Second Division and last season's best Third Division teams. Of course, all of them are now in the Second Division.

The seeds are: last season's 17th placed at Division 1 (1st), 18th/Div1 (2nd), 19th/Div1 (3rd), 20th/Div1 (4th), top 8 not promoted of last season's Division 2 (5th - 12th), last season's Division 3 champions (13th) and last season's Division 3 runner-ups (14th). The first and second seeds enter only in the second round (quarterfinals).

The Astograthian Football League: Season 644

First Division
Shocking results all around as outsiders Echegoyan FC run away with the first title of their history! Their off-season signings, of considerable pedigree, paid off spectacularly, with Chetkoski Iosif Tsarapkin in particular propelling the team to dizzying heights. More than half the season was neck-to-neck stuff with Sporting Iturributa, but the first matchday foreshadowed it all with Echegoyan's 2-0 win over Chevronekinaka, Kolya Tchailharovic and Salum Merec with a goal apiece. But will this go down as a fluke, or is it the dawn of a new era for Astograthian football? Surely it is too early to speak of a Big 5 yet...

Sporting Iturributa could count themselves unlucky to fall just short of the title, but should be spurred on by the fact that they didn't look like genuine contenders at the start. Aztore Irungarai kept the lowest goals against count in the league, while Artur Rochemback pulled the strings from midfield and the Victor Brexio-Iker Malik connection kept the goals flowing at the other end. With some more solidity in the middle of the pitch, Sporting could be a very serious threat soon.

Iturributa United should be satisfied with the amount of punishment they managed to inflict on their opponents; 79 goals, 23 of them coming from league top scorer Ellis Elmsvikur, was far and away the best offense of the season. On the other hand, 68 goals was far more than they should have conceded, and it balanced out enough to put them in third. Strong showings from the left wing, made up of Citiz Gerard Royce and Norman Carter, and Zabal Lizaran began to shine as an alternative to Petter Bielsen. Luk Merbilha failed to meld in with the rest of the defense, however, and the centre-backs may well be on their way out.

The champions disappointed. For all the noise and hype, Royal Rumiatzi ended up fourth, manager Garoa Larzondo displaying an inability to cope with a shifting formation, dressing room trouble and poor results. To be fair, the defense was probably the best of the season, but in midfield Prieto and Konovalov collided with each other and simply did not function. Without them the wingers were lost, and as a whole there were simply not enough scoring chances for Timo Skye – the ones he did get he buried, though, and with 21 goals finished as second top scorer.

Ituraitz FC performed discretely once again, nothing to write home about. Though the players performed well, there were few standout performances and the result was a season that will not stand out in the memories of Gorriaka fans. Of note were the solid contributions of youngsters Ikatz Alberro, Dima Petersen and Tartalo Achaga, which could be seen as a sign of things to come for Ituraitz.

Outside of UICA qualification spots, Urbizania Wanderers improved upon last season's finish under the careful guidance of Edorta Urrustoy, who imprinted his die-hard attitude to a veteran squad. Thiry-five year-old striker Bayardo Urruzuno was a highlight, rekindling his dying career like in his best years at Sporting Iturributa. Wolfgang Sandberg, Danek Badjkev and Gito Pizan all adapted well to the Wanderers, while in goal twenty year-old Yoritz Suastegi showed signs of a great future ahead.

Further down the table were perennial survivors Astograth University and Athletic Club Rumiatzi. The former failed to maintain their track record of few goals conceded, which could be put down to keeper Churio Muniya being used to another style of play in Erathore, poor wing play and the various injuries suffered by Egor Helguson and captain Svennis Moller, who was forced to put an early end to his career when a harsh collision put him out for the last two months of his final season. Athletic, meanwhile, produced their best form in several years to earn an eight-place finish, manager Alar Martikorena's offensive gamble finally having the trio of quality strikers it requires. Munio Baranzano, Berasko Arechaga and Gaur Arambilet may all have seen better days, but it can't be denied that put together they can still tear through a defense.

The next four teams were separated by no more than a single point, and all suffered the threat of relegation. The Army Club saved themselves by betting on continuity, the same squad as last season capably staying put through tough times. Tamarindo midfielder Galeano, still in the country after his own nation disappeared and his one-year loan was altered to a proper contract, performed admirably, and the fans can't wait to see what he develops into. Just behind The Army Club was Garitzeta Racing Club, who did well to stay in the top tier but should probably look into signing a proper offense to accompany experienced striker Meabe Bastida.

Similarly, Blue Mountain Ranage scored a record low amount of goals, but are hardly concerned by it; their defensive vocation is part of Astograthian football lore. Their midfield might need replacing, however, as not having possession of the ball is definitely not part of their style. Athletic Club Olarria was another promoted team that saved themselves by the skin of their teeth, their comparative lack of “winning experience” holding them back. Iturributa Racing Club told a similar story, not accomplishing much but loud sighs of relief on the final matchday and a large derby win over their Garitzeta peers.

Down in the deep end are two familiar names, whose campaigns can only be classified as catastrophies. Ituraitz Victory were a mess, looking completely lost on the pitch and letting go of winning leads every other week, which was only aggravated by the sacking of manager Iaki Urrutia two-thirds of the way in. Being crushed and humiliated in both of the Ituraitz derbies was no moment of pride either. South Factory were like this as well, and the club, one of the founding members of the First Division, finds itself going down to the second tier for the first time. With players of the calibre of Peruanton Ariztondo, Tilford Quirin and Marcel Sanderskye at one end, converting goals wasn't the problem, it was, it was not making a mess of things at the back. And poor Jaap Zuiverloon found himself recovering the ball from the net far too often as captain Gorri Mendizko failed time and time again to organise the backline. South Factory had flirted with relegation before, but this time the consequences were dire.

Royal Arexa, though showing a lot of good intentions and a bright future ahead for its young defenders, it also showed why one must not trust the entire defense to young prospects. Indecision and inexperience paid a high price for their place in the Arexan lineup.

Oyardo FC bounce back to the top tier with a strong season, and Lermendia FC finally make their return as well. Highly popular and highly unachieving side Gesterlake FC at long last reach the First Division, keeping alive the streak of a new debutant every season. Meanwhile Royal Association cruelly missed out on returning to the top flight by a single point, and there were shocks at the other end as East Railway almost dropped to Second Division B and Antiguoko FC, twice a top tier competitor, did.

So… the Una Serie no longer exists, shame really, considering the poor performance of the Pocoan sides in the Liga de Fuego, anyway, two of those sides are relegated and need replacing… hence why the lower leagues weren’t abolished, so hope, hope could spring eternal that two lucky clubs may ascended to the giddy heights of the Liga de Fuego.

Anyway, as such, there is a new system, the league winner goes up automatically and 2nd-5th play one another in the play-orfs, two legged semi-finals and a one leg final.

And the first season of the new look, but roughly the same as before we’ve just added a second promotion place League I was won by Racing Cruzeira who edged out Barbossa by a solitary point and Ortiz by a pair in a super tight finish. At the wrong end, a season after appearing in the final Una Serie Allied Motor Trade narrowly avoided relegation, staying clear by of the trap door by 6 points.

And bish-bash-bosh it was the battle of the B’s as Barbossa and Belle-Isle squared off in the national stadium for a place in the Liga de Fuego. With everything it stake Barbossa started strong, scoring after only 4 minutes. After steadying themselves, Belle-Isle dominated and found an equalizer just before the break with gangly attacker Hectorinio Vasquez di Maria latching onto a through ball before smashing into the roof of the net. With 20 minutes of the final, Belle-Isle sealed their promotion with Alexis Reina curling in from a perfectly placed freekick.

League II

Yeah, that’s still happening… and Port Los Renato picked up their second (or third, can’t be sure without checking our history books) and won the championship.. so yippee for the South coast club.

Champions Cup Stadium Bid
With a capacity of 205,000, the Stadio Nacional de Dizarino has to be one of the larger stadiums in use in Rushmore, and possibly the world. The massive stadium is not home to any club team, rather it serves as the home venue for the Erathore National Football Team and the Erathore National U-21 Football team. Internationally, the Stadio Nacional de Dizarino has only played host to the knockout rounds, including the third place playoff, of the 42nd Baptism of Fire as well as the knockout rounds, and final, of the Weaker Sex World Cup. Additionally the Third Copa de las Islas was played at the stadium.

Élite League One
A confusing stampede for the Élite League title eventually settled into an unlikely two-horse race (only metaphorical horses were harmed in the preparation of this report) between defending champions Qidade Savana and Yûpo CCK, the formerly Samseong-owned club who’ve not a single trophy to their name. Leading only on wins with three games to play, Roje’das left the barn door cracked open on their trip to south Bedistan as they fell to Carter FC, and Yûpo stormed through it (injuring their metaphorical horse) to clinch the league championship in front of their home fans the following week, defeating the very same opponent. Their first championship was a fitting finale for the club’s twenty-fifth anniversary celebration, though CF Aéropag’s anniversary, which not coïncidentally falls in the same year, was rather disappointing.

A banner year for Jasĭyun proved unfortunate for their member clubs; Jasĭyun’s affiliates filled the top five places in Élite League One, but with only two places available in the Champions’ Cup group stage, Qidade Savana will be made to run the gauntlet of the preliminary phase and fifth-place Jamaica Giants will be forced to settle for Globe Cup play. Yuba United supporters will no doubt be irked to see another club clad in blue and silver at the head of the league table, but they claim the top spot among Capitalizt SLANI clubs in the Champions’ Cup in addition to their Capitalizt SLANI Cup triumph. Sonoma Center Panthers are also through to the group stage through no fault of their own, as their lackluster ninth-place finish was enough for their association’s third berth.

Élite League Two
Top-flight football will once again fill the schedule at the Sokojito Überdome, as both of its tenants managed to claw their way to promotion, and Gyulhabdwen to the league title on the strength of their two victories in the revived Überdome derby. Jasĭyun’s success in Élite League One was mirrored in League Two, as their clubs queued up for Series B Champions’ Cup places; Afton FC were left out in the cold despite holding the tiebreaker over Querzakhi United, who received a free pass into the competition. Meanwhile, KQ Lótrio, who would have been relegated to the fifth tier last season were it not for their Promotion League success, performed above expectations in the Élite League, but nonetheless book their return voyage to the Jasĭyun Ligĭ alongside Charleston FC.

Paripana Open Cup

The expanded Asociación de Fútbol de Penguinata, still only a provisional member of the Paripana Sporting Council, upsized this season’s Open Cup to 526 teams, but still failed to send any clubs through to a significant stage of the tournament. Instead, the early rounds were highlighted by such ties as a rare Tory-on-Rea derby (l’Impact walked out of Estadio de los Santos 3–0 victors), CF Aéropag’s crushing 7–2 loss to lower-league Dionte City at the Tour olympique, and SpVgg Tolzerio’s 1–0 win over Dûsanto after six successive 1–1 draws (leading to numerous jokes about binary scoreboards, and appeals from Mojaikĭjĭ supporters over a disallowed goal in the sixth and final replay). Lower-league clubs made a big splash in the later stages, with top-flight clubs comprising only half the field in the final four rounds, but Medoria Löwen, the last survivor of Élite League One, would persevere and lift the trophy.

As clubs from Mapletish have not played a single domestic fixture in the past two seasons, their entries to this season’s UICA competitions have been rejected.

Final site selection
Nine bids were presented for the UICA Selection Committee’s consideration, though the one from Ossidiacqua was immediately tossed out because none of the members had even heard of Ossidiacqua. They weren’t too familiar with Homelands our, either, but they decided to accept their bid and book the trip just to see what a 200 m long dugout looks like next to a 105 m × 68 m football pitch.

Remarkably, only three venues showed interest in hosting the Series B Champions’ Cup final, down by one from last season. Deprived of any actual work to do, the committee filled the time it would normally spend visiting the candidate sites with such activities as bowling, water skiing, and a biathlon excursion in Keto before returning to Aeropag briefly to conduct the vote.
