While it's not going to help you in law school and it's not going to help you get into law school, it might be valuable experience to learn how a law firm works. My boyfriend works in a law firm and some of the attorneys have said something to the effect of, "I wish I had worked in a law firm before going to law school because I never would have gone otherwise." Legal work is kind of tedious and boring for the most part. I agree that you run the risk of burning yourself out before law school starts, but if you don't end up training to be a paralegal, then you could always try to get a job in a law firm as like a records or copy clerk or some kind of office assistant.

I might try records. though in this economy those jobs seem to be a tough fight to get.

I knew a guy who worked as a staff accountant at a law firm before going to law school. Of course, he didn't experience everything about the job, but he was able to get some exposure to how some firms operate. He noticed a lot of alcoholism, long hours, and sport fucking.
So he went to Law school.
