Our company
History
Founded in 1985 as 'Cuppa Distributors' to supply the coffee shops and supermarkets around the city of Farnoa in Kington Langley, the company owned a small production facility in Colombia which was famous for being one of the origins of high quality and fresh tasting coffee beans however the finished products were retailed in Kington Langley under the name of their distributors rather than Cuppa. The success of the various products offered by the company led to the creation of the independent 'CuppaCoffee' brand which only fueled the continued growth of the brand and it's products domestically as it both maximised company profits and further promoted their name to consumers.
By 2003 it had established itself as a successful brand of both bean and instant coffee through deals made with the nation's most popular supermarkets and restaurant chains thus the company eagerly financed the step into the independent distribution market through the creation of a nationwide coffee shop chain. The reputation already built up by the company led to it's swift domination of the domestic market with a current presence of around 290,000 stores throughout the nation. It now seeks to offer it's renowned products to the international market through the establishment of franchise coffee shops/restaurants that specialise in selling prepared CuppaCoffee products to the public.
Corporate structure
Our company is headquartered in Farnoa, a large city located in western Kington Langley. We organise our business so that our most central operations such as finance and the appointment and regulation of regional directors are undertaken by the Farnoan HQ while the majority of franchised operations are entrusted to the various regional offices. We find this tactic better as it allows the majority of CuppaCoffee's day-to-day operations become more influenced by local markets and adapt to the various cultural and economic differences around the world, thus increasing customer satisfaction no matter what their nationality.
Ownership
Since the entry into the international market, CuppaCoffee has strategically sold a number of it's shares to a number of globally successful companies and individuals. Below is the full list of current shareholders as of the last major transfer of company shares.
Information
Below is the various pieces of critical information you may want to know about our company and it's dedications to coffee, customers and producers before you decision on whether or not CuppaCoffee is right for a potential nationwide franchise within your nation...
Our shops
Stores operated by CuppaCoffee are constantly maintained to the highest standard with our company winning many domestic awards annually in fields such as outstanding presentation and overall positive customer atmosphere. While we understand that this is merely a place to purchase hot beverages and light snacks, we make it a mission of ours to make sure customers can enjoy these products in absolute comfort, below is a list of just some items that are compulsory in all our coffee shops
Interior of a standard 'CuppaCoffee' shop.
1. Steel-framed leather chairs and pine tables: Customers shall be greeted by strong yet comfortable padded leather seating rather than the hard wooden or metal chairs offered by the majority of major brand coffee shop companies. Our tables are made of cheaper and softer pine as the conifers that are chopped down to produce our tables will replenish quicker than the more expensive hard wood product, besides, all tables are expertly treated prior to their introduction in our various stores thus greatly increasing their lifespan.
2. Solar energy: All shops (not located within a store) are fitted with enough solar panels to create sufficient levels of electricity to light and heat the store all year round with little need for external suppliers which keeps our energy costs low and helps the enviroment.
3. Quality over quantity: Rather than the huge stores operated by the vast number of international chains, our coffee shops are more traditional in size (see picture at the beginning of this section) which keep demand at any one time lower than the average for international coffee chains and therefore allows for better quality products than most.
4. High Definition televisions: Shops are fitted with at least one wall-mounted plasma screen television broadcasting local and international news channels in high definition (broadcasters who are covered by it)
5. Take away counter: We understand the need for quick service in an increasingly urbanised world and thus all shops have a designated take away bar that promises quicker service than standard queues for people wanting to quickly purchase a beverage and continue about their day. Customers can also pre-order food and drink via internet or telephone for quick collection upon arrival.
6. WiFi access: All shops are fitted with a wireless service that offeres to customers high speed internet browsing on laptops and mobile phones. Unlike other rivals, usage of the internet itself is free of charge however customers must first purchase a product before usage.
7. CuppaMachines: All shops contain a certain number (minimum of 3) of high tech self-service coffee machines that, combined with the touch-screen technology and the reduced queue sizes, keeps our average waiting time for service one of the lowest among our competators.
Our Producers
CuppaCoffee is dedicated to the fair production of it's coffee with frequent inspections being performed on the various suppliers of our renowned products. All our producers follow the fairtrade system with the various employees that are tasked with the hard job of cultivating and harvesting the coffee beans recieving a large proportion of profits per sale. It is through this system that CuppaCoffee is both directly and indirectly helping local economies grow and strengthening the worldwide transition from explotative labour to fairtrade.
Our coffee is produced, processed and distributed with care.
Aside from coffee and tea, we offer a variety of lunchtime snacks and confectionary via our display counters and menus to our customers. Unlike the coffee which is distributed around our various international stores via air and road transportation from the production facilities, the ingredients used in our food comes from localised sources thus increasing freshness, customer happiness and keeping our carbon emissions low due to the removal of transporting the products long distances. We therefore attempt to build relations with local suppliers and influence them to enter a positive business relationship with CuppaCoffee.
Our products
CuppaCoffee specialises in the sale of beverages to customers, offering a wide variety of coffee that is produced all over the world. While we offer more 'speciality' hot drinks than most international chains we sell international favourites such as latte, espresso, decaf and americano. We also offer an almost equally extensive range of teas with classics such as English breakfast and Earl Grey forming the most popular and more exclusive brands such as 'Tregothnan' which is cultivated in specialised greenhouses in Cornwall. Unlike our rivals, we aim to go beyond the basics however the average prices remain in place.
All of our offered blends have been chosen through constant communication with customers and critics.
We also cover an extensive selection of lunchtime foods and snacks. Our sandwiches are made from locally sourced ingredients and prepared on site to keep them fresh throughout the day, we offer the basic range of pre-made sandwiches with the option to customise to a wide extent. We also offer paninis to our customers which offer the great taste of the traditionally produced molten cheese which can be mixed with over 20 different seperate ingredients. Finally, we offer a wide range of confectionary pastry products for both breakfast and afternoon tea with classics such as danish pastries, croissants and cinnamon swirls.
Top quality food produced on site with ingredients sourced locally.
