Gladius welcomes go-ahead for groundbreaking project

Gladius Inc. CEO Lucius Cello, welcomes the decision made by the Cukarican Senate in favor of developing a new infantry tank for the Cukarican Imperial Legions. Thanks to decisive support by the Legio Imperialis Logistics and Equipment Headquarters in Neapolis, a major step has now been taken toward better utilizing and hence maintaining the national production capacities for armored vehicles. The decision not only benefits the two systems companies involved in the project, Gladius Industries and PILVM, it is also to the advantage of the G;adius' Ascelonian AvecNord partners whose role as suppliers of high-tech electronics would prove to be very beneficial to them as well.

Contract for the new tank is worth 967 million Imperial Credits, and the first procurement batch will cover around 800 new infantry tanks, with the first being handed over to the government starting from mid-2014. In order to develop and build the new vehicle, Gladius and Ascelonian AvecNord early on set up a joint venture, each company holding a 50-percent stake. The new tank, dubbed Project 212A, which is considered to be a key project in the modernization of both the Cukarican and Ascelonian army, is regarded worldwide as the most advanced system of its kind.

The development of new major components including the completely new chassis, fire control, armour, drive system and the remote-controlled turret, will ensure that the high standards of the Cukarican army are satisfied. Moreover, the system's innate modularity will facilitate later integration of further components with added performance features.

Price: $2.3 million

The XIII-A Panther infantry fighting vehicle arose after the experience of combat operations in Vonderborn revealed fundamental weaknesses in its predecessors, which had incorrectly been deemed sufficient for modern combat operations. Prior designs made use of aluminum alloys for basic armour protection, with options for steel plates to cover vulnerable areas on the vehicle hulls. However, throughout the war Cukarican forces suffered numerous losses in urban warfare around Tolzen and along the roads to the front burned out IFV hulks were not an uncommon sight. Additionally, the prior armaments on the XIII-A’s predecessors proved inadequate to penetrate the modern level of armor of its counterparts and given such impetuses the Legio Imperialis pressed PILVM Consolidated , now a part of Gladius Defense Systems, to design a successor capable of engaging enemy IFVs while also providing close-support to infantry.

Construction,uses and modularity

In order to provide the improved level of protection demanded by the Legio Imperialis, the Panther makes use of a solid body consisting of welded composite armor, augmented in critical areas by additional titanium armor, e.g. the areas covering ammunition storage and the passenger compartment. The interior crew and passenger compartments feature anti-spall lining to provide protection from ammunition designed to incapacitate the vehicle’s occupants: three (3) crew and eight (6) passengers.

Initially such a composition had been sufficient, however, after experiences in the colonies of Trevoria and Aurelius islands involving insurgent use of rocket-propelled grenades and improvised explosive devices, the Legio Imperialis has requested the retrofitting of its currently employed units with both slat and additional appliqué armour. While the vehicles’ original armour scheme has protected the crews and passengers from most attacks, the Legions remain concerned that in the future forces operating asymmetrically could utilize more powerful and more efficient weapons that the base armour may not adequately defend against, thus requiring the additional protection. Operationally, the Panther handles similarly to previous models, most notably the Basileus, driven on the right-hand side by a driver physically isolated compartmentally from the remainder of the crew and passengers. Each compartment is separated by its own bulkhead lined with anti-spall materials for increased crew and passenger survivability.

While physically isolated, the crew can be fully aware of the situation both inside and outside the Panther through his or her inclusion in the vehicle’s multi-node network system. Information is visually presented on high-definition LCD display monitors designed for the rigors of field and battle use. The system presents its information in visually clear and concise formats and allows for rapid toggling between necessary information for vehicle performance to the vehicle’s location on the battlefield in context with other allied forces. For the purposes of conserving bandwidth, the Panther is networked only up to the regimental level.
Other considerations for the safety of the crew arose from the use of chemical and biological weapons by the Rodarion armed forces during the Hanslow war, a possibility that had been considered remote by designers of prior vehicles and thus NBC protection had been neglected in lieu of staying on budget. Consequently the Panther’s internal storage compartments contain supplies for 60 hours of NBC battlefield operations while interior compartments are air-conditioned with a closed-circuit, high-pressure system.Another lesson learned by ground forces during battlefield operations was the ineffectiveness of firing ports for infantrymen within the IFV's and as such the Panther has no firing ports. Embarked troops deploy from the rear of the vehicle through an electrically-operated door.

Armament

The two versions of the Panther, A and B, differentiate from each other only in terms regarding their armament. Version A's infantry fighting capabilities are enhinced by sporting an additional 7.62 machine gun. The standard IFV weapons layout, however, features the GLADIVS 50mm autocannon, externally powered and capable of firing approximately 120 rounds per minute. The secondary weapon system includes a co-axial 7.62mm machine gun and a *remotely-operated 7.62mm machine gun, turret mounted and commander-controlled. The Panther IFV also features the ability to mount one 2-cell anti-tank missile system on top of its turret. The 50 mm autocannon uses a long recoil system of operation, for minimum recoil forces on the mounting and vehicle. Spent cases are ejected forwards, out of the vehicle. The weapon was also designed for minimum inboard length, allowing for more space in the turret or a smaller turret overall. Another feature is that no gun gas escapes into the turret.

Image

B Version, unlike the anti-infantry Panther A, sports 2-cell ATF-XI anti-tank missiles which are capable of ripping through most modern armour. Unlike most antitank missiles, in which the booster burns completely before leaving the container and then the missile coasts a safe distance before the sustainer motor ignites, the ATF-XI's booster burns both inside the container and outside the container for approximately one second giving the missile a high speed. The sustainer motor burns for 15 seconds, a flight time whose path exceeds the length of the trailing wires which dictate the maximum range of the missile. Because of the more powerful booster and sustainer motor that burns during its complete flight, the ATF-XI missile had a much shorter flight time than any other wire guided antitank missiles when it was introduced. The booster's four nozzles are located at the roots of the four spring out fins. The sustainer motor's single exhaust is located in the rear of the missile body, where a vane controls the missile through thrust vector control as it rotates in flight.

After the ATF-XI missile is fired, all the gunner has to do is keep the target in the sight's cross hairs, and the system will automatically track the missile's rear-facing flares, gather the missile into the gunner's sight, and send commands to steer the missile into the gunner's line of sight. Approximately 50 meters after ejecting from the container, the safety system arms the HEAT warhead's fuze and will detonate when the outer skin of the two-layer nose cone is crushed to contact with the inside skin, completing an electrical circuit.

Mobility

The Panther operates with an 812hp diesel-electric power-plant designed by the Cukarica’s leading diesel engine provider, LOCVLVS Corporation. Protected with acoustic and thermal shielding, the engine provides power as quietly as possible to reduce its acoustic signature – necessary in environments, such as urban areas, where noise signatures may reveal the location of the Panther to enemy forces. Electric motors allows the turret to traverse a full 360 degrees quietly and quickly, again for the purpose of reducing the Panther’s noise signature. In performance tests, the engine powers the tracked vehicle to a top road-tested speed of 67 km/hr.
As a tracked vehicle, Panther is also quite capable of moving off-road and has a reasonable capability to traverse steep inclines. Some variants of the Panther have upgraded engines, to the extent that the standard IFVversion would be capable of at least 75 kilometers on roads. However, these variants are mosty upgraded to serve as testing&evaluation prototypes.

Protection

The primary armour of the vehicle is a 120mm layer of ceramic armour sandwiched between two steel plates. This gives the vehicle excellent protection against kinetic energy weapons, rendering it immune to small arms fire. It can also survive impacts from 14.5mm machine gun ammunition and 155mm artillery shell shrapnel. It also provides good protection against chemical energy weapons should the upper layer of armour be breached. This makes the vehicle even more survivable. Over the top of the ceramic armour is a 50mm layer of Enhanced Appliqué Armour Kit, which provides much-needed protection against chemical energy threats, such as the ubiquitous RPG-7. As reactive armour types could not be used due to the vehicle being intended as an infantry carrier, EAAK presented an effective alternative. Although it provides far less protection against KE threats, these are dealt with by the ceramic armour underneath. As EAAK comes in the form of add-on kits, it can be easily removed for easy replacement or to enable repairs on lower layers. It is also lightweight, allowing the Panther to travel at greater speed. Beneath the ceramic armour is a layer of NBC protection. The Panther carries four 80mm smoke grenade launchers, allowing it to move under cover in dangerous situations. Inside the vehicle are two fire extinguishers for emergencies. If rapid disembarkation is needed, for example in case of heavy fires inside the vehicle, the rear door can be blasted away from the inside by explosive bolts.

Image

In accordance with the Legio Imperialis’ desire to promote crew safety and well-being, the survivability of the Panther’s crew and passengers was one of the preeminent concerns during the design process. Accordingly, Next Generation MILITVM (NGM) was contracted to provide the latest sensor technology to allow the Panther’s crew to detect the use of radar and laser guidance systems and then utilize the various countermeasures carried by the vehicle to defeat such guided munitions. Most such countermeasures, such as smoke grenades, are contained in six six-cell munitions launchers, mounted upon both the turret and hull.

Nachmerian Ironclad-C System
Ironclat-C is a heavily modified version of the combined Nachmerian Bastion/Ironclad systems, modified by the Institute of Armoured Warfare in Neapolis, Cukarica.

System components:

⋆)Main Processing Unit: a high speed compact processing unit with a 5 GHz clock rate. The processor uses a stropped down fast version of a common commercial operations system. The other software installed on it is the “Bastion” system. This allows the tracking, classification and engagement of threats detected by the system sensors. The software can use the data from the radar and IR sensors to identify threats and choose which threats to engage and which threats not to engage. It also chooses what counter measure to use against a threat. The processing unit is linked to the Integrated Legion-wide Defense system, allowing one Bastion/Ironclad unit to network with others. This allows the systems to “warn” each other of threats, protect vehicles that have no loaded countermeasures, and use group smoke screening to protect the entire unit.

⋆)1 or 2 small Doppler radar units. The radar is used to identify incoming threats. The radar identifies threats up to 80 meters from the protected vehicle. The radars detect targets as small as 0.22 caliber rounds.

⋆)IR sensors.6-10 sensors depending on the size of the IFV. These sensors can identify incoming missiles that have jammers or a very low radar cross section. When the radar dismisses a target as too small or is jammed from a certain direction the IR-sensors focus on that area and give the MPU data to protect the vehicle.

⋆)A 360 degrees laser warning system. This comprises of 6-10 laser sensors which identify laser designators and range finders being aimed at the IFV. The data is used to alert the team and give the Ironclad system a “heads up” on what type of threats are about to engage it.

⋆)Quick reaction projectile launchers. The launchers fire small HE-fragmentation rounds that detonate 1.5 meters away from a threat to destroy it safely. The amount of launchers depends on the vehicles size.

⋆)4 close range grenade launchers armed with 80mm grenades. The grenade system is exactly the same as used on previous IFVs but is now linked to the APS. Armed with IR-decoys and infra red screening smoke grenades. The 15X20 meter smoke cloud resulting from the grenade is impenetrable to most thermal targeting systems. The IR- decoy grenade generates a massive heat signature 20 meters away from the tank and is also useful at causing missiles to miss.

⋆)A laser and radio frequency jammer located on the turret and capable of disrupting missile guidance systems. This works by directing a false guidance signal at the missile causing it to divert course and miss.

Operation:

The fire control radar or IR sensors, located on top of the turret, identifies incoming rockets and missiles. The radar data is transmitted to the processing unit. The processing unit ignores birds, small weapons fire and threats that are not bound for the protected vehicle. When a threat is identified the possessing unit selects the correct method of engaging it. The system makes this decision based on the threat itself (guidance type, size, speed, etc.), the vehicles status (amount and type of remaining countermeasures, vehicles trajectory, etc), and the units status(other vehicles being more vulnerable, infantry being near the vehicle, etc). The system than engages the threat with the chosen countermeasure. If the threat is still approaching the system automatically uses the hard kill choice.

ImageFAV-II ''Sandrail'' Fast Attack Vehicle

Overview & Conceptualization

The FAV-II is a swift, lightly armored patrol vehicle designed by the Gladius Corporation, based on the Desert Patrol vehicle, FAV-II was designed for speedy infantry support, long range, all terrain patrol missions and easy transportation of personnel, due to its light weight and relative small size. Although quite small, and somewhat lacking protection of larger patrol vehicles, the light, and quite speedy vehicle can deliver quite painful strikes to it's foes. It's concept first originated from the need to patrol the vast desert areas of Trevoria, and cover large swaths of arid land, with the purpose of scouting and locating movements of Trevorian Berber separatists. During these operations, the vehicle was tasked with locating and marking the movements of the Berber tehnicals, before Cukarican mechanized and aerial assets would intervene, it was not built for prolonged fights, and the armament it carries is there only for self defense while on the run, or for support for light commando teams.

FAV-II Frame and Armament

The FAV-II employs a body frame similar to that of a sport utility 4x4 Jeep Wrangler, yet heavily modified, because of its small size and vast off road capabilities. The 180 hp engine provides the FAV-II with an extremely fast speed, and the extra detachable fuel tanks at the back of the vehicle provide it with extra fuel capacity. The crew compartment at the front is slightly lowered to let the machine gunner/ATF-XI launcher at the back (where the item storage for a civilian jeep would be) have more room to aim the gun.

The FAV-II utilizes a ballistic windshield that stops most small-arms fire (up to 7.62mm) and armor plating for the front hull, however the windshield only protects the driver's half to accommodate the 40mm Mk III automatic grenade launcher at the "passenger's side" (a gunner's side in this version). The plated and bullet-proofed side doors provide limited protection against small-arms fire. The back has no protection at all to minimize weight. The basic FAV-II has 3 weapons points, the spot beside the driver, the back, and . These include, but are not limited to, an Mk.II automatic grenade launcher, an UT-X machine gun, and a mounted ATF-XI missile.

The UT-X 13mm caliber machine gun is an automatic, belt-fed, recoil-operated, air-cooled, crew-operated machine gun. While mounted on the FAV-II, the machine gun can be used both as an anti-personnel and anti-aircraft weapon. The weapon provides automatic weapon suppressive fire for offensive and defensive purposes. This weapon can be used effectively against personnel, light armored vehicles; low, slow flying aircraft; and small boats.
Image

The Mk.III 40mm grenade launcher is located beside the driver. The operator has no protection except the door beside him, and the grenade launcher itself only has a limited degree of swivel (it can only hit targets in front of the vehicle. The UT-X Browning machine gunner also operates the TOW missile launcher, which are attached to each other and point in the same direction the other weapon is pointing. The ATF-XI/UT-X guns can be swiveled in any direction. However, because the ATF-XI requires that the gunner keep his target in sight at all times, the gunner cannot fire the UT-X at the same time as the ATF-XI. Also, he must stop firing the UT-X in order to fire the ATF-XI. Due to this teams of two vehicles are deployed so one may provide suppression fire while the other loads or fires the ATF-XI missile. The ATF-XI/UT-X gunner however, has little, if not none, protection against small arms fire and shrapnel.

With the advent of extremely advanced and completely new fighter concepts such as Yallak's new AF-37 Slaven fighter jets," the Imperial Air Force realized that, despite being a capable force with access to some of the most advanced aircraft available, even its best strike fighters could not come close to the their Yallakian counterparts. And although Yallak and the Imperium Romaniae, respectively, never engaged in war, some Mediterranican Union satellite states, most notably the rogue state of Rodarion inquired to acquire the AF-37 Slaven jet from Yallak. Realizing that these increasingly dangerous and hostile nations might seek to capitalize on this new concept of aircraft design, the Imperial Department of Defense, the MAGISTERVM MILITVM saw the need to beat Rodarion, Aschenchyrst and other powers to the punch. After tentative discussions with Ascelonian, Mykolan and Grestonian aerospace engineers at the recently-reconsolidated Irondeck Naval Vessels Shipyard, it was decided that the three nations would cooperate on a joint project to develop an advanced fighter-bomber that incorporated some of the best Cukarican,Ascelonian,Grestonian technology available, as well as some of the best technology of all the aircraft fielded by the Mykolan Royal Air Force. The result was the - C-IV Tyrrfighter ''Tanathos'' Mark III, planned to be fielded by Adriatic League nations' air forces.

Airframe construction

The flying properties and performance of the Tyrrfighter are optimized for fighter missions with high demands on speed, acceleration, turning performance and effective delivery of it's combat payload. The combination of delta wing, canards, and TVC gives it excellent take off and landing performance and flying characteristics. The aircraft is carrier capable and used by the Cukarican airforce extensively in maritime aerial combat. The new airframe and avionics affords the aircraft far more flexibility than anything before it, and its operating costs will only be about two thirds that of its predecessors, the Tyrrfighter Mark II and the famed Medafighter. While not designed to be a completely stealth aircraft the Tyrrfighter does have a considerable amount of composites and radar-absorbent material in its construction. Its airframe was also equipped and designed by a supercomputer to passively deflects radar waves away from, not back at, the source. These features reduce the RCS of the aircraft considerably and improve survivability dramatically when compared to fighters without any stealth features.

The airframe itself is composed of two elements: a ten-millimeter layer of Kevlar to stop small arms fire, with a fifteen-millimeter layer of aluminum-titanium alloy underneath the Kevlar layer to provide additional structural strength. The aircraft's stealthy qualities are enhanced by judicious use of Brewster's angle(polarization angle) construction throughout the airframe. However, the Tyrrfighter's stealth qualities are estimated to be enhanced tenfold by the use of a special material over the layer of Kevlar. The material is still highly classified, but is said to further reduce RADAR signature by forty percent, as well as preventing easy visual acquisition at long range. This makes the Tyrrfighter an estimated two to three times as stealthy as the F-117/A Nighthawk, thus making the Tyrrfighter one of the stealthiest craft in use by the Imperial Air Force to date. Radar-absorbent material (RAM) with whom Tyrrfighter's airframe is covered is a military grade type of paint-like material, while the material and thickness of radar-absorbent material coatings is classified, the material seeks to absorb radiated energy from a ground or air based radar station into the coating and convert it to heat rather than reflect it back.[1]

Propulsion

The Tanathos is powered by one Loculus developed Thrust Vectored VPCB (Variable Post Compression Bypass) Turbofan engine.[2] This engine was developed by the Loculus originally for the Medafighter project and is a derivative of the GF-02-VE turbofan engine on the Medafighter Genesis. The modular design includes a six-stage, low-pressure (LP) compressor, five-stage counter rotating high-pressure (HP) compressor, Advanced annular combustion chamber and dual-stage LP and single stage HP turbines, afterburner, heat exchanger, and mixer.

Each engine can provide 200kN thrust dry and 230kN with the afterburner and is independently directable from -30 to +30 degrees along the vertical and -15 to +15 degrees along the horizontal plane. The nozzles are connected to the annular swivel and can be moved in the pitch plane by a set of three of hydraulic jacks. The thrust vector control allows maneuvers at speeds nearing zero without angle-of-attack limitations. The vectoring controls can be operated manually by the pilot or automatically by the flight control system as per the pilots preference. The major objective for the Variable Post Compression Bypass Turbofan application is to provide some degree of engine cycle variability that will not significantly increase the cost, the maintenance requirements, or the overall complexity of the engine. In the past, variable-cycle engines were designed with large variations in bypass ratio to provide jet noise reduction. However, these types were complicated and did not perform well. Though the concept of an engine meeting the Supersonic performance of a Turbojet with the economy and subsonic performance of a Turbofan has lead down many interesting and varied roads in the past.

In the VPCB turbofan air enters the compressor and bypass vents as per a normal turbojet. The first noticeable difference between the engines however is that the VPCB design has no fan. This is difference does as they say, make all the difference. As air enters the center vane it is compressed to a higher level than those passing through the bypass. A variable vent allows a certain amount of pressurized air to enter the bypass canal generating a pressure difference and thereby suction drawing air in through the bypass. At lower altitudes the air is thicker and therefore the pressure is greater sucking more air in through the bypass generating the same overall effect of a turbofan. In higher altitudes the air is thinner and thus the compression is less allowing it to work more efficiently as a low bypass turbojet giving greater efficiency. Because there is no fan there is less vibration, less noise and less stress on the turbines as the rotational mass is smaller. Likewise since there is no gear to the fan, the system is less complex and yet completely self adjusting according to the thickness of the air entering the vent. Its this automatic adjusting without complex or easily breakable parts that allows the VPCB to perform superbly at all levels of requirements from subsonic to supersonic maneuvers, all the way to low altitude hat high speeds the VPCB can do it and is nearly uniformly efficient in all transitions. The aircraft is also fitted with dual-mode air intakes. During flight, the open air intakes feed air to the engines. While moving on the ground, the air intakes are closed and air is fed through the louvres on the upper surface of the wing root to prevent ingestion of foreign objects from the runway. This is particularly important when operating from poorly prepared airfields, and allow for the full use of the aircraft regardless of field conditions.

Reduction of Thermal signature is provided by a pair of sub systems comprised primarily of; The fuel/exhaust heat exchanger, and the Mixer. The Fuel/Exhaust heat exchanger is quite simply an insulate coil of piping around the first stage exhaust of the aircraft, fuel enroute to the engine passes through this tubing and by means of thermal conduction warms up the fuel and lowers the exhaust temperature. Because Aviation fuel has a higher thermal density than air, it makes it a very efficient system overall, and with eight separate fuel cut off locations safety is maintained to prevent a possibly catastrophic malfunction. This pre-warmed fuel is then fed into the Ravens engine where the heated fuel allows for higher engine efficiency allowing longer ranges with less fuel than any other comparative system.Though the heat exchanger is a highly efficient system its overall cooling effect is limited by the safety requirements of the aircraft and so its overall effect is somewhat limited. However a Inducted Air Mixer (IAM) that uses a separate fan assembly run by the one of the LP turbines. The IAM draws in outside air and mixes it with the heated exhaust providing drastic IR reduction to the already cooled exhaust. This exhaust then passes through a set of carbon screens that conduct heat away from the exhaust before exit giving it a remarkably tiny IR signature allowing for protection from even advanced MANPADS and Air to Air missiles.

Avionics

Of special importance to the aircraft is its fully integrated avionics suite. All the electronics were designed to work together and are all controlled and processed by the “pugna aspectu” (battle view) avionics computer. To provide information to the pilot the traditional Heads-Up Display has been supplemented with a Helmet-Mounted Display. This new system takes the HUD and puts it in the pilots helmet. This allows him to just look at a target and get tracking data, and other information displayed right there beside it. It also gives better targeting flexibility as the aircraft doesn't have to turn to achieve lock. In fact the Tyrrfighter can target its missiles almost directly behind it if needed to. And to help the pilot fly in adverse or night conditions the HMD can use the Type X FLIR and Cbn-II IRST/EO tracking system to project an infrared overlay directly in front of the pilot's field of view. This allows him to fly just as effectively at night as he can during a bright sunny day. The avionics console of the cockpit has 4 large multifunction OLEDs with touch-screen capability to provide other information such as radar, satellite feeds, video, maps, and anything else the pilot or copilot wish to see. To control the aircraft the pilot has a fly-by-optics mini-stick similar to the one found on the F-16 and is HOTAS equipped.

One of the most important aspects of the avionics was the defensive electronic systems fully integrated with the other electronics. The A/ES-XXI Radar Warning Receiver can alert the pilot to the presence of tracking radar or a radar lock on the aircraft, and can even provide tracking capabilities of the incoming radar. To supplement this is the A-hj-XXII Laser/IR Warning Receiver and Dazzler. It automatically detects laser rangefinding and tracking systems and in return dazzles it to confuse and jam it. Both of these systems are link to the A/ES-IIIII independent Multi-Role Radar Jammer and both the A/CM-XXX Advanced Decoy System and A/CM-LX Decoy Dispenser System. When a radar is detected tracking the aircraft the pilot has the option of independent jamming the incoming radar without using his AESA radar and the system can automatically deploy chaff and flare as well as fully mobile advanced decoys that behave and emit signature exactly of that to the Tyrrfighter. However the detection capabilities of the Tyrfighter are provided primarily by the RSR-IX Active Electronically Scanned Array, multimode radar. It's range is classified but is rated 250+km for fighter-sized targets and it can track over 65 air and ground targets at once and it can be operated in a LPI mode. But this is not the only detection device in the Tyrfighter, when a target gets within 150 km of the aircraft two more systems can detect and provide even more information to the pilot. They are the Infrared-Search-and-Track, Electro-Optical and LIDAR/LADAR systems that give extremely detailed tracking and target information about air and land targets. Indeed when coupled with the radar system, the Tyrfighter can attack targets in any weather at any time of Day.

To provide the Tyrfighter with the communication is needs to be effective on the modern battlefield it is equipped with the XIC-II Advanced Broadband Data Link which provides high-speed data transfer capable of transferring large data packets like video and multi-layer audio and the UHF/VHF Encrypted Tactical Radio for local chatter between friendly units.

Weapons

The Tyrrfighter is equipped with multiple weapons pylons in order to facilitate a plethora of weaponry. Two pylons on each wingtip hold short or medium range air to air missiles only and ensure that the aircraft always has at least some air-to-air capability to protect itself. The next pylons (furthest out on the wings) hold up to 500 kilograms and are usually also used to hold air-to-air missiles. The next two pylons on each wing are plumbed and hold up to 2,000 kilograms each and can be used to store more air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground munitions, or extra fuel tanks for extended range. Underneath the fuselage are two pylons rated up to 2,500 kilograms and are used to hold fuel tanks or heavy air-to-ground munitions. For self defense and CAS missions the Tyrfighter has a 1x Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-301[3]30mm internal cannon with 300 rounds. The domestically produced version of the GSh-301 has a rate of fire of 1,800 rounds per minute, customarily limited to 1,500 rounds per minute to reduce barrel wear. Despite that, its barrel life is quite short: it can sustain some 2,000-2,500 rounds. When firing a continuous burst of 100–150 rounds, the barrel is put under so much stress that it has to be replaced. The gun uses an evaporation cooling system to prevent the detonation of a high explosive round inside a heated barrel. This cooling system consists of a cylindrical water tank around the rear end of the barrel. It is equipped with a pyrotechnic mechanism to clear misfires: a small pyrotechnic cartridge is located to the left of the 30mm cartridge chamber.

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN- LONG LIVE NEW HAYESALIA.
COMPATIENS, LIBERA, ET CONTUMAX

Noting the niche ability and performace of the FAV-II ''Sandrail'' Fast Attack Vehicle, and acquisition funding is continually rising allowing the Greater Island Kingdom to place an order for the Domestic Production Rights for the Sandrail. Highly useful for New Hayesalian 'hit-n-run' tactics, paired alongisde the Belwood LPV, Reachlong ATV and Tarling PWC, it will be easily able to serve as a major part of our mobile forces. We hope that this is approvable to the Galdius Corp and it's personnel, and we thank you for taking the time to read this message.

Gladius Inc. is glad that the New Hayesalian military holds our product in high regard. We are willing to grant you the domestic production rights for this vehicle, and if there is need for that provide specialized, educated and above all, experienced engineers and specialized technical personnel to aid their New Hayesalian counterparts in making the first steps to produce this Gladius Inc. product domestically. The price of the contract which will allow domestic production is relatively cheap, in regard of worldwide standards of these military equipment contracts being only 450 million €(Euros).

We are completely sure that the military forces of New Hayesalia will find this vehicle compatible with it's current doctrine, and extremely useful in any future conflicts that might happen.
